BARCA NAE MAIR

The Holy Poet looks back at the Celtic defeat to Barcelona…

BARCA NAE MAIR.         1st October 2013.

Before I start, get one thing straight, Neymar is a cheat

At kick-off, I said to mates, I will accept defeat

So long as that cheating bastard doesn’t take a dive

I’ll gladly take a 1-0 win or lose by 4 or 5.

How can the Barcelona fans accept him as a man

I’d be ashamed, if I was one, to call myself a fan

The dirty diving bastard brings evil to the game

With one slight kick, he writhes about, as though he’s fucking lame.

Get up ya cunt, ya wanker, this game is meant for men

But the slightest touch, a fresh air kick, and down he goes again

Then Broony played the nutter and kicked when he fell

Squirming on our hallowed turf, you’d think he was in Hell.

The agony, the look of pain, was something to behold

If rolling round could win awards, he’d take the fucking gold

How do you feel young Neymar, when you let yourself down

Every time you touched the ball, the jeers rang round the ground.

Take Andreas Iniesta, a maestro who’s a man

When subbed he was applauded by every Celtic fan

But you ya cunt, ya cheating cunt, deserve to lose your head

The respect that Barcelona had, because of you is dead.

Celtic fans remember and so do all the Scots

You dived when playing Scotland and deserved all that you got

You blamed The Tartan Army too for a banana that was flung

And then you called us racists and for that you should be hung.

You may think I am angry but it’s not through our defeat

It’s that dirty wee Brazilian who’s nothing but a cheat

If I was Barca’s manager, I’d say a swift goodbye

Football doesn’t need your type and I hope you don’t ask why.

The mighty Barcelona, how Neymar’s dragged you down

Your multimillion forward has made you look like clowns

Thank God for Iniesta, Xavi, though it may have come too late

Respect from Paradise has gone – Neymar sealed your fate.

my brother is one of the tartan army (& a thistle fan) – he was at the Scotland V Brazil game and told me that neymar and Brown had a tete a tete due to neymar’s diving – he warned me before the game, I forgot. neymar should have been booked in the 1st half for his blatant dive – the ref saw it and spoke to him when the ball went out of play, but it should have been a yellow. I don’t mind being beaten by the better team, I despise being beaten by cheats. Arsenal were the same a few years ago, I used to have a soft spot for them, but that night finished it for me.

WHAT UTTER NONSENCE.BARCA ARE A FABULOUS TEAM.
NEYMARS IS NOT ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PLAYERS, AGREED
WONDER WHAT YOUR POEM WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE IF BARCA HAD A
MIDFIELDER IN THEIR TEAM WHO HAD TAKEN A SNEEKY KICK AT A CELTIC PLAYER WHEN HE WAS LYING ON THE GROUND.
SORRY SCOTT ,I LIKE YOU AS A PLAYER ,BUT UNLIKE INIESTA AND CO.
YOU DO LACK A BIT OF CLASS

Thanks Cass, Barca are a fabulous team and although I still respect Xavi and Iniesta – players who can take it and dish it out as well – Neymar and to a lesser degree, Alves, let their side down. Busquets is no angel but he can take it too but Neymar I have no time for at all. A very good player but a dirty cheat. As for Broony, my favourite player, he let us down big time and does, as you say, lack the class Barca’s stars have. HH

I have to agree that one of the admirable elements of the recent Barcelona teams was the “honesty” of their football and footballers, at least in comparison to most others in the warmer climes of Europe. I guess it is a trait of modern football that is regarded as perfectly acceptable to gain advantage by any means possible. It is an art form conceived in South America, grabbed with open arms by the Latinos and Hispanics of Europe and now welcomed by world football at every level and in varying degrees. I even see women throwing themselves about these days. Tut, tut! Never in my day. Closed doors were for all that :). It is, in fact, so much embedded in the game it is difficult to see it being eradicated unless there is a massive sea change in the conception of what is sporting. That then raises the question of whether or not an equivalent change will take place in referee’s heinz variety of interpretations. I see neither while there are big bucks are in control, simply because it is expedient, nay some may say necessary, that the power pack in the game, that is those top clubs who dictate how it has to be, are kept happy even if sportmanship be sacrificed for gamemanship. But then football has not been a sport for a long time. Money talks and it is rarely silenced by cheating – oh we only know too well!

No matter the whys and the wherefores, everyone from knee high to walking stick is aware of the double standards in the game. Everyone who has even snatched a glimpse of modern football knows that winning no matter the cost is an elemental component of the modern game. Anyone with a brain, that is. So where does that leave Scott Brown? Did we purchase great but brainless, in football terms, potential from Hibs way back? Evidence over the years probably says yes with regard to the latter, and Tuesday night says definitely. Anyone, knowing the propensity of modern footballers to be theatrical divas rather than pit ponies, to exaggerate even more than a cartoonist, to dive with more graceful ugliness than a one winged swallow and referees to be the perfect Specsavers “before” advert for tinted glasses, who then goes out and has a swipe with his foot, imaginary, missing, a mile off even, at the most renowned performer in Catalan within blurring distance of the “officials” and expects to play the innocent, has to be the brainless of the brainless. We lack far too much ordinary football brain in the current squad to afford the genius of brainlessness. Brown is fast becoming a major liability and all the excuses under the sun will not expunge the latest idiocy. For that is what it was, not a mistake.

Mark my words, and if I am wrong then mark my grave, but I fear Kyall is heading in the same direction with his free range headless chicken approach to closing down and recovery. He is safely for now, not in the situation as regularly as his leader. Weekly appearances for ninety minutes would be well interspersed with regular suspensions, methinks. Then again, I have been known to be – way off!

By the way, I am told that even Byron took a day off – Mondays for some reason or other. Drink and women perhaps? But would you have that weakness given your fair demeanour and endless capacity :)?

Utter garbage. Brown is a twat. Doesn’t deserve to be Celtic Captain. In fact couldn’t probably spell CAPTAIN. Might as well dream up a song about every foreigner ..and include Samaras in that.Brown cost Celtic a point minimum not the Barca player…Write a song about him. Start with BROWN IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER WANKER…
