Celtic Diary Thursday June 23: Sinclair, Robson Kanu and Zlatan

The Diary’s been around for a while now, so we felt it was time to graduate from pish stained rumours to pish stained headlines.

We’ve already told you about Robson Kanu, who is, in fact just the one player. He’s agreed terms, or perhaps more accurately, his wife has, as she wants to move back up the road, as us ex pats say when the longings for square sausage and tennents lager become overwhelming.

Scott Sinclair, we discovered yesterday, is also poised to join the Rodgers Revolution, and there will be a few supporters, who haven’t heard of him. But you will have heard of his wife/girlfriend/life partner..

Continuing with the recent misogyny that has shamefully appeared on these pages, it looks like the Neil Lennon effort

may be relegated to the second biggest selling  calendar

Unless there’s something seriously wrong with the support, that is. ind you, fair play to Lennon. Despite moving to Hibernian, he’s determined to win the calendar competition, and has redoubled his efforts to regain his crown, switiching to  this racy little outfit just before the photoshoot.

I’m quite worried that he might actually pull it off. .

The third name on that list is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who now no longer has to be with the national team as Sweden are one of just a few sides to have exited the European Nations Championship after two weeks and thirty six mostly tedious games.

And thats no mean achievement consdering that one win and two draws would have probably sufficed.

So, from Zlatan having his pick of teams worldwide, its now down to manager Brendan Rodgers whether or not to gamble on the man who led Sweden out of probably the most diluted and lacklustre tournament since, well,  this one.

On to Resolution 12, and the fight for justice. The piece quoted in yesterdays diary was agreed amongst the Res 12 guys, and indicates, if you look at it closely, just how the landscape, as they said some time ago, has changed.

I’ve not spoken with them of late, but if it has changed to include what was in the quote yesterday, and we can take imagination a step further into reality-though why they just didn’t just say so, i can’t quite fathom, although I guess I can understand the caution-then truly the dam has suffered another few cracks, and one of them looks like it can’t be patched up.

Casting the mind back to Grant Russells STV piece, perhpas that was indeed just damage limitation on the part of a media which increasingly looks like its about to be shown up for what it is.

We asked Grant what would happen next, and he, to be fair, pointed us in the direction of his new website, where he , like any good investigative reporter, sifts through evidence, contacts his contacts and puts together an insightful analysis of what could happen next….

I know whats going to happen next, because truth will always triumph over lies.

The good guys always win, sometimes on away goals, sometimes on penalties, but they’ll  win nonetheless.

In other news, well, if it is news, Roy Hodgson, who is in charge of Englands national side-he’s the doddery one on the bench who waves his arms about when he needs to go to the toilet-is annoyed with the English FA.

He’s not had his contract renewed-and at 68 he couldn’t have been expecting more than a weekly rolling deal-, so surely can’t be surprised that they are shopping around for a replacement, but it hasn’t stopped him moaning.

Anyway, according to the Sun, the Mirror and no doubt the Express some time next week, Brendan Rodgers was approached and interviewed for the position, but he turned it down to pursue his paradise dream.

Sort of.

The papers, determined to make sure that the new Ibrox club isn’t associated with the new lot unless its to sell season books, have created some sort of playground banter between Scott Brown , Celtics captain, and Joey Barton, the blue chip marquee free transfer who joined “rangers ” instead of continuing his footballing career.

Thast “rangers “, not Rangers, as featured in the blast from the past below which reminds us just how compliant the media were, are and will continue to be unless we put a stop to it.

Brown said a couple of days ago that he and Joey-a Joey is a term for a skivvy, the guy at work you send out for pies and fags-would get on just fine as Barton is a Celtic supporter, whereas the quick witted Level 5 guys gave Barton the perfect rejoinder by pointing out that Scott, is in fact a Rangers fan …

Yeah. Seems that way.

Maybe the twop could have their own show when they retire, like Saint and Greavsie, or Skinner and Baddiel…

Based on what I’ve read so far it would be at least as funny as those two groundbreaking sports laughalongs.

The stakes were lifted in yesterdays caption competition, with this effort from Arsene Parcelie, who used his photoshopping talents win handsomely.

So today, you’ve a lot to live up to… our man at the front sneaked this pic, though as usual we can’t vouch for its authenticity

I love the Diary transfer rumours. Keep taking the pills.

Btw, Scott Sinclair comes with his own wee chant! Something about him having intimate relations with Rosie (Coronation St) and apparently her mother (Sally) didn’t care.

Sung to the tune of Norwegian wood
We once had a coach or should I say the coach once had us
We asked him his name and gave him the blame without little fuss
When commons went mental most of us thought he was right
With Collins and Kennedy the coach put us through awful shite

We struggled all year and it was clear Effie was crap
He caused so many goals against the poles and Maribor

When commons went mental it was elemental to think
The only way we could stomach this shit was to take to the drink

Now Ronny is gone Collins is too isn’t it good
Please don’t ever come back and will you stay in Norwegian wood

Like Deila, Rodgers should be judged on European results, whilst of course winning the league. A Treble would be ok too. First qualify for the CL group stages and then go from there. I am ecstatically optimistic that we will be seeing Barca, Milan, Juve etc. again at Celtic Park. Oh Happy Days! Just the feeling in these old arthritic bones. Although I supported Deila’s vision as long as I could, it’s Ronny should have gone to Specsavers, not me. I’m only a fan who has always seen the world through emerald-coloured spectacles, which aren’t available at Dolland and Aitchison. Can’t wait for the season to start. This Forum will be like a Lovefest! Sorry bhoys, but I just can’t make it to Molly’s on the 23rd July (health issues) but will bump into some of you on CL nights at Celtic Park. But I do wish I was 25 again. Monti and Andybhoy were true prophets and deserve lots of credit for never wavering. I’m hoping they can keep us as well informed during the Brendan Rodgers years. I never thought Rodgers would come to our great club and now, I’m walkin on air. Birds are singing, bees are buzzing and sun is shining. Good health and peace to you all. I voted first thing today to REMAIN. If we leave, we will be completely under the boot of the Public School Fascists in London. We vote democratically for our MEPs but that vote won’t stop Farage, Gove, Boris Johnson, etc. because we are outnumbered by the southern right-wing electorate 10-1. They need stopped now. I welcome immigrants and have been one myself, as have my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. I want my children and grandchildren to be able to live and work on the Continent as young folk can do now. It’s called freedom. I’m chuffed about the Democratic sit-in in Congress. That too is called democracy when rich people who are in the pockets of the gun lobby are challenged. Time for a cuppa and my meds. Hail, hail…

P.S. As for Ronny Deila, no pleasure on my part that it didn’t happen for him, but Celtic must always come first!

Wouldn’t it be sweet if England voted out and it was the scots who swung it to remain . Wonder if England would hold a referendum then to get rid of us haha.
Anyway all quiet on the footie front. Devoy of course you are right when you say the Celtic manager should be judged with European results, and of course winning the league is a must.
But to be fair,it was the style or lack of it, with Ronnies team, that was the main reason fans grew disgruntled. He was out his depth, and the performances in most games were terrible.
Yes winning is important, but give us something to be proud of,because in the two years under Ronnie we never got it.
Let’s hope for some decent signings to come along, and take us forward, after going backwards fir so long.

Holyrood MSP 130,

Westminster MP 650,

European MP 751.
How many feckin polititions does it take to run our islands,it does of course not include Stormont or the Welsh parliaments.
How many diddies with there snout in the trough does it take?
Add the pish stained Lords then add the Monarchy, strangely nobody ever questions the numbers and cost to the taxpayers.
Who would have thought it,is it any wonder that whenever any issues are raised my heed goes burlin at the unfairness of it all.
Human beings (ordinary people) going to foodbanks, constituents living in squalor, oap being targeted and living alone and unloved, the young living in poverty.
Why the fuck cant they do something about it and just stop beating there gums.
Man dont you just love them a bunch of fucking reprobates.

Now that ive got that of my chest, hearing that Mulgrew has signed a new 3 year contract, that tells me that Boyata and Sumo. cannot be relied on to take us through to the C.L qualifiers.
Who will join C.C.and Stokes in the culling fields?
Wanyama, who has just signed a long term deal at Spurs and was on his final year at Southampton, will add to the transfer kitty.
I still have my wish list of another Centre Back, the bhoy Ward at Blackburn has been mentioned,Joe Allan at the pool also,as has Scott Sinclair the winger come striker at A.Villa.but what about the main man a new big striker, who he? unfortunately his age suggests hes going to poundland at ipox.they seem to be splashing the cash on wages, where is that coming from? The ludge must be having a fund raiser,
who can wear the funniest uniform? My moneys on the Shankhill Royal.they seem to dress like Dads Army with a much bouncing of the beer bellies.
Toon Army they are barmy, where can i buy my Beer Belly.

Just a reminder: Boris Johnson himself is an immigrant. He was born in New York City. His grandfather was one Osman Kemal whose own father was Turkish. Had his grandmother not changed the family name to Johnson, he would be Alexander Kemal i.e. Ali Kemal! This is called hypocrisy.
