Firstly, this isn’t about Sunday. Honestly. Even with the dust settling and anger rising. Palpably. This is penned more in a culmination of anger mixed with a fear of the unknown. Quite how far we’ve been conned into falling – and I mean, we’ve been conned – is an award winning achievement in sleight of hand, the art of sophist – the wordsmith liar – and the terrible consequence of lethargy. Goebbels himself would have struggled to concoct such a potent poison of malaise, underperformance and misappropriation and assume he’d get away with it. Yet what we now have is an awakening from a terrible dream. A truly disconcerting reality stares us in the face now. And at its’ heart is a £1M per year CEO,whose policies have hypnotised through corporate doublespeak and hoodwinked through faux-action for so long we’ve awoken and staggered comatose into a nightmare from the disconcerting dream. This isn’t even the slow lane. We’ve broken down on the hard shoulder.

As to how we’ve landed here, I genuinely actually felt worse after the Ross County League Cup Semi-Final defeat. Europe – and Malmo in particular – was shocking in its impact though when the 2nd goal went in at Celtic Park in the Malmo tie I just didn’t believe we’d go through. We simply lack character, belief and that champion mentality. But domestically this is unreal. Ross County outplayed us. Let that sink in. Ross F**king County. A professional football club who couldn’t sell tickets online recently because “their website got accidentally deleted”. That’s how low we’ve fallen. Actually, no. That’s how low we’ve been dragged in a slumber by a bunch of hand picked Tory overlords and an absentee owner who’s as much in common with the average fan struggling to pay the inflated price of a ticket for a home game against Motherwell as I do with DUP doctrine.

Ronny Deila is out of his depth. Then again, to be handed the top job and told “these are the backroom team you have to work with. Hope it all works out” isn’t exactly the way to start building your empire. Talking tactics and bromance by moving Salt cellars over dinner with Collins is one thing, trying to do that when he’s challenging you to a sit-up contest in the middle of the restaurant should have set the alarm bells ringing. That the club is so utterly quiet on the fate of an utterly decent yet totally exposed employee is another Tory fuelled by-product of a culture that’s on life support and in dire need of help. The consequence of jettisoning the very fabric of the club; community, connection, a club of the people, “more than just a club”, yet observe the position on the living wage, the lip servile approach to Walfrid’s mantra that “A football club will be formed for the maintenance of dinner tables for the children and the unemployed.”; it’s left to the Green Bridage, the very component of the Clubs fabric which it has attempted to neuter and has complicity allowed Police Scotland to criminalise, to at least keep Walfrid’s vision on life support.

At least with Mowbray there was a hope that he’d sort it, turn it round, get a spine to go with the attacking openness. But this is awful. No spine, shape, pattern, structure, fight, bottle, pace, press, pressure, flair. It’s just fcuking awful and that’s what pains me most. We see it in the odd game – in the way that a misfiring engine every 30 or so strokes sounds good – but it’s just so bad.

If the table below showing asalary increase 5 fold and a 10 fold bonus increase, while simultaneously shrinking the arse out of the club over the past decade doesn’t annoy you nothing will. You’re actually a bigger part of the problem. Think about it. A 5 fold increase in base salary and a bonus of the same handed to the CEO, while everything else is cut to shreds, the club refuse to pay the living wage and downsize across all football operations.

If the table below doesn’t annoy you in terms of Sunday’s contest then nothing will. You’re actually a bigger part of the problem. Think about it. That team of journeymen costs less than our CEO takes out of our club in a year (assuming that any moneys paid for Wallace were spread out over a 3 year period – or indeed, paid at all by RIFC IL). Take him out of the equation and our CEO takes home nearly 4 times more than it cost for that entire squad.

I’m struggling to wrap up anything approaching a balanced position here. I keep defaulting back to the initial thoughts since I started this. The position of the CEO of Celtic Football Club is simply untenable. The salary unjustifiable.The damage done to our football club unforgiveable. He didn’t liquidate us – the ultimate betrayal for anyone assuming there’s RIFC (IL) in this article – but by fcuk he’s fairly added to his own liquidity.
F**k off to Sunderland and all that entails Peter. Go make the big bucks there and give us back the soul of the comatose football club you’ve presided over. We’ll take it from here.

I get a sense that you do not like PL. Who would you like to see in the position? Given that PL’s strategy is to minimise debt and to buy low and sell high on the player front, what alternative strategy should a new CEO pursue?

Good article,but really who in that team from them would you take. None, the biggest mistake Lawwell made was appointing the clowns he did. This is what happens when non footballing people purchase players,without proper scrutiny,background checks and footballers knowledge.
Since almost day one of the Management team we have all been perplexed by Tactics,strategy and performance,it was quite apparent that they did not know what they were doing and yet still they are in situ.That is unforgivable,old players in the media,who clearly had a love for the club were continually castigated for expressing there opinion.
It is very difficult to say this but Warbutton with a fraction of our budget put a team in place that opened our eyes to what a good coach with nous could bring to the table.
Let us hope that D.D, saw this on sunday and was angry at what he witnessed and will do something constructive about it,same with Res 12,now that he has been fully informed.
This sunday against Ross County will be one step closer to ending this total shambles,i believe the players will be hurting and will hope to make amends,with a league winning bonus playing for there future and a winning medal to play for,after that goodbye to the management team and there mentor P.L.
