Celtic Diary Tuesday August 25: And Now, Some Optimism

Well, someone has to do it.

Lets start with the ginger ninja himself, current Scotland and former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan. Never one not to ofer a short of a quick word ( velocity ) about Celtic, he chipped in with the unthinkable for the rest of the media.

Believe it or not, this is from the Evening Times;

Strachan: Celtic qualifying would be just

Champion for Scotland

It’s by Sports Group Writer Scott Mullen, if you look closely at his picture, you can see he didn’t have time to comb his hair after the editor hauled him off for an explanation.

Strachan, ahead of tonights crucial play off decider in Malmo, said;

” I think they’ll win. I don’t want to be like the Malmo coach and tell you what’s going right in the world and what’s going wrong.

“I just believe they have a good chance of doing it because they have good passers of the ball, Celtic. They have good counter attacking players.

“It’s a boost for us all because it’s a new journey, new games, a new focus. There’s a freshness and that’s what the players like.

“If not, we’re off to ‘that place again’ and even the guys in the media have to write about that and try and make it interesting. It’s the same with the players.

“It can only benefit everybody.”

Strachan was speaking after announcing the Scotland squad to face Georgia and Germany in the upcoming Euro qualifiers, which included six Celtic players, Gordon, Mulgrew, Brown, Armstrong, Forrest and Griffiths, which could see more Celts start in the Scotland team than o in the Celtic one.

Ewen Murray, the Guardian golf correspondent who occasionally, and mysteriously,  shares his thoughts on football, tweeted;

Repeating myself but find it odd there are 10 midfielders deemed better Scotland squad options than Charlie Adam.

That’s because Strachan only picks ten midfielders for his squad. The manager wouldn’t struggle to find twenty better if he had to.

Mind you, Murray has tonights in depth analysis sorted;

Analysis plus analysis of Celtic v Malmo can’t hide fact that Malmo aren’t a very good team. Highly damning if Celtic eliminated by them.

Which is pretty much the line taken by the rest of the media. It’s all about the consequences of defeat, and not the spoils of victory.

We need some positivity, and where else to look but the man of the moment, Ronny Deila. He’s confident.

You’d have thought David McCarthy would have echoed that in his story;

 Ronny Deila last night insisted Celtic WILL win the biggest match of his life in Malmo to crash into the Champions League.

The Hoops boss led his squad to Sweden yesterday convinced his players are good enough to survive a £20million shootout in Swedbank Stadium to rub shoulders with Europe’s elite in the world’s biggest club competition.

Deila has no doubt his team, who lead 3-2, are better than Malmo – despite the confidence exuding from the Swedish camp after Jo Inge Berget’s last minute goal at Celtic Park changed the complexion of the tie.

Insisted ? Against a tide of negativity from the hacks, no doubt.

Convinced ?  Even though the ” experts” are trying their best to tell him otherwise.

 Despite the confidence exudiing from the Swedish camp? Confidence ? They’re sqeualing like stuck, er pigs.

I’m going to rewrite that for him. To change the mood a little.

Ahead of Celtics clash with Malmo tonight, Ronny Deila reassured nervous  Celtic fans that it will be his side who triumph and take their place in the Group Stages. The Norwegian maestro roared ahead of the game;

“ It is the biggest game for me and then the next one in Europe will be even bigger. This is a big game for the club and everyone, of course it is.

“We want to get to the Champions League group stage. If we win on Tuesday, we have succeeded in one of our first goals. So it is one of the biggest games of our season. It is very, very important.

“It’s like a final. But for me it is about getting better and better, If we get through, we can then show we have taken another step as a team.

“We are well prepared and looking forward to the game. The goal is to win, of course.

“We are going to win this game. That’s the only thing I’m thinking of. We are going to Malmo to win.

“We can talk about the positive things. We have a very, very good chance.

We are good enough to do it. It’s just about going out there and doing it.

“I am very, very positive. We haven’t lost away from for six months. We are coming here with a lead and we showed at Celtic Park we can cause Malmo problems. That’s what we are going to do.”

It’s been a long campaign. Stjarnan and Qarabag seem so long ago, and it’s credit to the players, that apart from a brief spell at the end of the first Malmo game, that they have kept to the required level of performance, both physically and mentally. With each passing game, the Hoops are getting stronger, quicker and more confident.

 There’s no reason Celtic should lose tonight, not only on aggregate, but the game itself.

The much maligned defence has played five games, and only conceded three goals. All of which were down to a lack of concentration, and the Qarabag away game showed that they can concentrate fully when they need to. Tonight, of course, they will need to.

But what about the pressure , wailed the hacks, now genuinely worried that Ronny actually knows what he’s talking about, giving him an immediate advantage over them;

“Yes, I feel pressure all the time. When you have big goals the pressure is unbelievably strong. But that’s what you have to cope with when you are a player and a manager. You have to use your energy to get the best performance possible.

 But what if you lose etc, etc ?

“Why should I be negative? I know the situation very clearly – we are 3-2 up! We showed in the first game we know how to cope with Malmo. If we get the best performance we have a good chance to win. That’s what I see and that’s what I go for. We are going to play a team that we’ll have chances to beat. We have a very, very good chance.”

“We showed at Celtic we can cope with the team and we have skills in our team to win this game. That’s what we have to focus on. I think we’re a better team than Malmo. If I didn’t think like this we wouldn’t have a chance of making the Champions League.

“We will go to win the game, of course. But it depends also on the picture of the game and how the match plan is going. We have to defend well but also cause them problems.”

Deila continued, because, of course, the press commented on accusations from the Malmo camp that Virgil van Dijk may be a little less focussed than he should be with all the transfer speculation;

“His head is here with Celtic, that’s for sure. He has played very well in the recent games and he will be very motivated going into this one. I have no worried about Virgil whatsoever because I haven’t seen anything until now.

“He is focused. In the home game he was very good, especially in the first half. He was vital for us and he’s going to be very important for us in this game also.

“We don’t need to sell Virgil. Celtic is a big club and hopefully we’ll have van Dijk and Champions League at Celtic Park.

Anyone who has seen the Dutchman’s reaction to Celtic’s goals in this campaign needs no re assurance on that issue.

Critics have said that van Dijk should have come clean and said he is staying, and his refusal to do so means he is away. Of course, there is the possibility that the manager is telling the truth, and that the defender just wants to concentrate on his game.

And the rest of the defence ? Ronny gave them a vote of confidence, as the vultures tried to imply it was a problem;

Our defence was the best ever in Scotland last year so it’s strange that I get these questions about the defence.

There is a doubt over Mikael Lustig, who trained with the team last night. Ronny was forthright about his chances;

We will see tomorrow if he is ready or not. But we are taking him with us because he has a chance.

“He hasn’t done any work since he got the injury last week, just rest and treatment ”

It looks like every opportunity will be given for Lustig to start. He is a class act, and for the biggest game of the season , it might well be worth the risk. There is a danger he will break down, but if he thinks he’s ready, we should go for it.

It’s not like he just stepped off a plane from South Africa or anything. At least if he plays the man who did just step off a plane will be on the bench, and to be fair to big Efe, he will give us his all if called on, and I feel a little better knowing there is someone of his experience ready to stand in if Lustig doesn’t make it.

Rather have the big Swede though.

The team , Lustig permitting, is pretty much set in stone for tonight;

Gordon, Lustig van Dijk, Boyata, Izaguirre, Brown Biton, Armstrong, Johansen, Forrest, Griffiths.

We may see Charlie Mulgrew at left back, offering a little more solidity, but he doesn’t have the pace to deal with Djurdic or Berget. He’s more likely to be added to the midfield later to calm things down and try to control the latter stages of the game. Gary Mackay Steven could also contribute later, as James Forrest will be tired and bruised towards the last third of the game. Kris Commons is another with a vital role to play, his guile again could be used to produce a goal or to hold up play.

 Nadir Ciftci has too much on his moind to be expected to start. He will be worried he hasn’t hit the ground running, but with so many interruptions due to suspension, he;s better left on the bench.

 Although you won’t need to check twitter for the team news. If he is picked you’ll just hear the howls of anguish. Ciftci may have something to offer Celtic yet. But not tonight. Perhaps he’ll step up a level when Libor Kozak gets here. Currently a rumour, but the Aston Villa striker, who hails from the Czech republic, has scored four times in fifteen games for villa over two years, is on a free and is usually injured. Seems like the usual junk we bring in at the usual price.

 He’s probably been texting his mates about the move already….

After Tonev, i think we should maybe delete the phone number of whoever it is we know at Villa.

 No, the task of getting the goals will primarily fall to Leaping Leigh Griffiths. The man on form.

As expected, he’s ready for it. and as for calling him names….

 “The only person who has called me a brat is my mum.

“They can say what they want about me or anybody else in the side, but we have got a job to do and we will go and do it.

“He was saying I was tugging his shirt, but there was nothing in it. I didn’t touch him once.

“He was the one pushing and pulling. I spoke to the ref and asked him to keep an eye on it.

“The assistant behind the goal also made it clear that if he saw him pushing me again he’d give a penalty for it, so I don’t know where their keeper was coming from with what he said.”

Do the comments bother him ? Wouldn’t have thought so. He’s had a lifetime of being called names.

 “They know how good side we are. We proved that.

“We’ll go over there looking to punish them with anything that comes our way.

“They are just trying to wind us up a bit. But we are looking to win the game.

“They are just trying to play games with us. We aren’t going to fall for it. Teams will do that all the time. We have got to rise above it.

“The comments in the paper have just been silly. We know what we are. We are a good footballing side and hopefully we will go and prove that.

“Teams will always try to manipulate you and try and do stuff to get you wound up, but the manager will be cool, will be calm and he’ll have that instilled in us by the time we go out for kick-off.

“We knew because we won the game that they would come out and say stuff about us, but we know we’ve got a job to do and we will look to do that.”

Speaking of those comments, the Malmo boss has become the second visiting manager in this years campaign to have a go at the Scottish press.

Lost in translation: Malmo boss Age Hareide berates

Scottish media over claims Swedes labelled Celtic as ‘pigs’

 “If you travel abroad and you are going to write about players from Sweden or Norway or Germany or Spain or France, you have to learn the words.

“To play like a pig is to play dirty. It was a tough game but it was not a dirty game.”

Thumping his desk, Hareide added: “A pig is something else in English than it is in Scandinavia.

“It means something else in Scandinavia. It is not swearing in Scandinavia. So you have to have respect for other languages.

“That is why I am upset with the press, you just translate things and then put them in headlines.

“The only thing I want from the press is to tell the truth. You have to have respect for languages and the places you travel to, to pronounce things correctly.”

He might have a point. Scots -and English-are notoriously monolinguistic.

I may have mentioned this before. Some time ago I was on a bus in Glasgow, and a fellow tried to tell the driver where he wanted to go. He asked first of all in /french, but the driver shrugged. He had another go, in what could have been Spanish.

 Still no joy. German-I recognised a word or two there, brought no result either, so he threw his arms up in despair and flounced off the bus. The driver looked at me , a little bemused.

” You know, we could all probably benefit by learning another language. “, I ventured.

” Didnae dae him any fucking good, did it ? “

Or, of course,Hareided  could be panicking and deflecting….aware that he is about to make himself look a bit of a prat.

Anton tinnerholm, Malmo’s full back , had a warning for the Hoops players when he referred to the atmosphere in the Swedbank stadium;

“I don’t think Celtic understand what awaits,” he said.

“Although they have good pressure at home, I think it will be something extra when they come here.

“Here you sing for 90 minutes.”

Well, that’s us fecked then.

A lot will depend on the referee tonight. We saw in the first leg how Malmo would resort to kicking, tugging and whinging. We will need one who is strong and experienced.

Milorad Mazic, of Serbia is the man appointed for the game.

A former traffic policeman ?

No. Though he does seem rather more animated than most.

And he doesn’t seem to be a shrinking violet either. There’s not many who would do this;

You might remember him from the Scotland- Ireland game. When he tried to pull Roy Keanes ears off when he felt the fiery Irishman wasn’t listening to him. I distinctly remember him saying

“well, you’re not fucking using them. ”

I think he’ll be able to stand up to any bullying from the Swedes.

Right, who is Ronny getting last minute advice from, and what is it ?

Re: Ewan Murray; Even though he is from Edinburgh he is one of the most anti-Celtic hacks that Scotland has ever produced, Bigger bhun than Jackson or anyone, even though he tried to hide behind the façade of being a Jambo. He was the Guardians Scottish football correspondent for years(and one of the reasons I stopped taking the Guardian,such was his anti-Celtic bias) He always delighted in reporting a Celtic defeat and very lukewarm comment on a Celtic victory. Hopefully the Guardian has got shut of him as a soccer correspondent.
Mon the Hoops tonight.Just hope the optimism that you are displaying on here Ralph is not over confidence, Malmo are proving to be one of those teams you just like to ram their mind games right down their throats. Hope I am wrong in hoping that Ambrose is not used, he is just too much of a bombscare to be used in such a vital match. Personally I’d sooner see Young Fisher used or Janko. Butterfly’s are going mad in my tummy, c’mon Hoops give us a win or a draw at least. H.H. G.B.R.D.

The word for tonight has to be ruthless! Be very stingy at the back and when we get a chance we need to take it. For all the chat that it could have been done and dusted within 15-20 minutes, I don’t remember their keeper making any great saves. Set pieces and counter attack football should hopefully provide a few opportunities and I hope and pray our forward players have the confidence and belief to put their laces through it when those chances appear.

Well, if we needed any other sign that we’re gonna win this match just look to the windshift in the reporting by the “hunbiased” media…now they’re saying Celtic should beat this team, very subtle but very obvious that they’re preparing their script for a Celtic win and won’t give us any credit for it since we “should” have won it anyway. Disgraceful bassas they are.

8 years ago

Calm down. Poor refereeing but worse, poor passing. Why all the hoofing the long ball from Gordon? Rosenberg was lucky to stay on the pitch with his blatant fouls. Ronny is fine, our team is fine. The Europa League will have to do. I’m disappointed but not surprised. Our players were mainly to blame. Ronny can’t pass the ball for them or guard against set pieces or run into space or not.
Don’t blame Ronny or Lawwell. We played poorly and that’s our fault.
We have to expect poor refereeing, especially away from home and we can’t blame Ronny for that. I was anti-Ronny some time ago but still see the vision he is working on. We are a young team and it will take time: a few years more maybe.

Sorry Devoy bit its the staff’s fault we have no dicipline/clue at set pieces,that we pass back to the goallie to hoof up thereby conceding posession and that with 15 mins to go we stay with the same formation that sees us 2 down. Ronnie is out of his depth, sorry.

Slow slow slow slow slow that’s last 2 managers who have played this way, passing terrible as well.
It will be the usual lawwel get to F ? Why did he not give Lennon millions to waste on centre forwards and no chance getting £6-£8 million players coming to a backwater league when they can go to a championship club and get double the wages.
I think we need an old hand to lead the line with someone beside him to do all the fetching and carrying, one up front is not working when you have goals to get.

Pains me to say it but ….. we were beaten over two legs by the better team.
Malmo got a little bit lucky with their last minute equaliser at Parkhead.

But, even if they hadn’t scored that goal, it’d still have been 3:3 with Malmo through on away goals as we failed to score a goal the referee considered legitimate.

I think Malmo are an ok side but more of a Europa League team than Champions League. Where does that leave us? For some time, I’d be honest and say we’re more of a Europe League side and get lambasted for it ….. I’d be delighted to be wrong!

By the way, I spend most of my time working in Scandinavia and football is not considered one of the major sports.
I urge anyone who wants to …. go to Malmo ….. fly to Copenhagen and get the train as it’s cheaper ….it’s like Dundee or Aberdeen. Not a huge city but nice enough …. ok not Dundee or Aberdeen then (I’m feckin joking!) – certainly not the kind of place football typically flourishes.

I know feelings are low after yet another disappointment. But …. this was Malmo and not one of the bigger teams. Our players and, especially Management, proved not to be good enough. Most folk writing gumpf on here could win the league with the Celtic squad. But, I think we’re looking for a wee bit more.

I am more than happy for any criticism that follows. But, apart from fitness which didn’t help tonight, what has Ronny proven when it matters?
I can’t go to away games as everyone stands and the wee man is only 8 …. But, watching the home stuff isn’t really setting the heather on fire!

Wait a minute …. just noticed I’ve wrote war & peace so I’m probably venting!

If I’ve upset anyone ….. just to cover myself …. “All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.”

Can’t blame the investment, is anyone going to tell me Malmo have a vastly superior budget to ours?
The players on the park, the ones we love and have been shouting from the rooftops about, they didn’t turn up for their fans or manager tonight. Hate zonal, always have, and we lost three goals to it so that is a management decision that needs changed or implemented better. But Brown and Bitton came out and refused to blame the ref, both knew they and their mates let us down. Sorry boys but no amount of silverware this season will wash away this stain!!

My previous post didn’t get on …. which was just as well as it was too long anyway.

The jist of it like above …. we’re at the level we’re at and that’s below the likes of Malmo.

Not Ronny’s fault as any one of us would take the job …. you’d be more of a fool not to.

But, for any position, you have to show your CV. That means most of us wouldn’t get Ronny’s job. How did he get it?

He was cheap and worth a punt …. that’s what PL thinks of us. By the way, I’ve no doubt PL is a Celtic Man when he puts his mind to it. But, he’s a relatively average guy who’s got very rich funded by us whilst doing a relatively simple job ….. bring in young talent and sell it on. We still have a good enough brand name to attract that kind of young talent ….. for now.

But, after watching this for almost 40 years, you do see patterns ….. Ronny’s developed a fit team who eat well. Unfortunately, they were totally undone by a team where jo inge berget is one of the stars ….’nuff said!

We are not where we think we should be. But, that does not make us unique …. speak to any Newcastle fan.

Ronny isn’t the one to take us there. Why?
He just had his chance ….. we do, technically, have better players than Malmo. If not, let’s sack them all on their current salaries and invite players on Malmo salaries (except jo inge berget) to join.

I know … simplistic.

But, football is simple

Buckie 1967, you’ve hit the nail on the head with slow,slow,slow, whether it be the pace of attacks or the pace of corners/free kicks.

Well,well,well Ronny, you stated that we would not meet a team better than Qarabaq in the next round, how wrong you have been proved, but let’s not bring it all on Ronny, the fans and many on this site were praying for Malmo as the best draw, I had a different view on this, and i’m sorry to say that i’ve been proved correct, the Skenderbaue’s of the competition would have been far easier( but maybe not the way we played tonight).

Not only on this site but various other sites, the vast majority of Celtic fans have been saying, we’ll score over there( although we were robbed of a pretty legit goal as far as I could see), we’ll win over there, absolute nonsense when you see our CL record when it comes to away games, even MON’s team rarely gained points away from home. For a nett spend of roughly £1 million we got what we deserved, what happened to the phrase “speculate to accumulate”!!

For what it’s worth, my team ratings for tonight

Gordon Best Celtic player on show, saved us from a right humping!!

Janko Had a so so game but far from the worst.

Van Dijk If that’s his best at crucial times, take the £10 million+ and GTF.

Boyata Showed glimpses of promise, but looks terrified at then heart of the defence, to be credited with an own goal is OTT in my opinion, faultless.

Mulgrew Lack of pace showed on several occasions,, isolated on many occasions.

Forrest Another headless chicken display, can beat a man but doesn’t seem to know what to do next!! Clueless.

Biton Probably his worst ever game in a Celtic shirt, taken off before he was sent off.

Brown Although a great favourite of mine, probably his worst game in a Celtic shirt also, sometimes wondered if he was still on the park!!

Johansen I was amazed that he got POTY last year as I believed he gave the ball away to often, and he’s even worse this year, on tiop of that he wants too mix it far too often instead of concenmtrating on the job in hand.Hopelss.

Armstrong I thought he was doing best of the midfielders but his final ball left a lot to be desired.

Griffiths Lucky to still be on the park after a needless assault, the club should give him a fine for that!!

Two final points, when will Celtic players learn to stop giving away fouls in positions where the opposition are going nowhere??

I’m fed up reading that we’re supposed to be a delight to watch after Lennon’s teams, really, I must have missed something along the line!!

Can’t believe we got done on set pieces….maybe life wi out big vvd might not be so bad or is this a team now in transition? Big man’s off, need experience beside boyata or we’ll be leaky. Not expecting anything from the board or the manager, BAU for another cake walk n respectable Europa. Will support Ronnie rest of season but no more Ronnie roars, honeymoon is over. U don’t get CL next year then goodbye, this is a big season

No excuses the best team ON THE NIGHT won.
Big decisions change games and the decision not to award a goal or not to award a penalty for deliberate handball (instant red btw) was a game changer.
At 1-1 Malmo know one more and the games up ,they then defend deeper and we start to build up some momentum.
Alas it was not to be.
Face facts folks Celtic Football Club is no longer a Champions League level side the writing was on the wall 3 yeas ago when the Shakter Morton nearly puts us out under Lenny.
A cross bar and a goal line clearance got us through that time against the most one dimensional side we ever faced in Europe.
We got royally humped in the groups.
Last seasons early exit was no shock to me as we simply do not invest in enough quality anymore at Celtic.
When Martin O’Neill took us all the way to the UEFA Cup final he did so because we had Invested heavily in a quality squad.
When he left the rot had already started to set in and Strachan was fist to feel the pinch.
Since then year on year our spending has gradually been reduced.
Team work and fighting spirit will only take you so far in football the level we aspire to be at takes quality too.
Genuine quality and that costs money.
Money our Board are refusing to spend instead they want a zero debt Club so they can reap the full reward in their divid ends every year.
2 years running now we have blown thr prospect of over £40m in our Bank.
Big Peters wage will not be a penny less he will still collect his £1m wage regardless.
We will continue to sign the Ciftci’s,Griffith’s and Boyatas meanwhile and our fans will hope that they can cut it at the top level…the fact is they won’t.
Van Dijk will go this week…this was always the plan.
He will no doubt be replaced with the lad Mechele from Brugge at around £2-3m.
And the merry go round will start again.
Meanwhile the empty seats will remain just that empty.
No getting round it folks we are and have been for a few years now a mediocre Europa Level Club.
Accept it that’s the fucking facts folks.
I have and have done for quite some time.

I’ve went from a Deila doubter to a Deila outer. Goodbye Deila, your reign was not short enough. I feared the worst after last year but my fears have now been exceeded, espeicially after how bad Malmo were last game.

Sickened by the Macari-esque performence, inability to pass short distances, playing with 1 up front for half an hour when we need 2 goals.

Gave him the benefit of the doubt last year as he was just in the door but now it’s pretty clear we have dropped a level and stagnated rather than bounced back. Maybe we need a post Mowbray style clear out, how those players could ever look at men like McGrain and McNeill again? That was worse than Maribor or Artmedia. Sickened and disgusted doesn’t do it justice.

Griffiths a disgrace. Brown gormless. Team no energy apart from. Janko coach a charlatan out of his depth. Van dunk at fault for both goals. Disallowed goal a joke. But you regroup and get on with it. Rogic our only playmaker. Better than commons. Ronny has had enough time with his pie in the sky system. Mandatory is test for Celtic shirt needed. Griffiths needs his star kicked for the knee in the balls surprised if he doesn’t. Get reprimanded by UEFA. Malmo ordinary workmanlike team who fully deserve what they got. Cut losses fuck Ronny off. He’s had ample time to get it right.

I can take being beaten…but not this way. How could we play so well the first half last week, yet couldn’t replicate it today?
It’s easy to blame the manager, but it’s the players that bear the responsibility today.
Does nobody know how to shoot ffs? We advanced up the park and passed it around in circles until somebody lost it. Their players got a glimpse of a space and they let fly (thank God for Gordon).
All the pretty football in the world isn’t worth a f*ck if there’s no dig at the end of it. How many goals did we lose at corners playing this mob? We were pure and utter shite, and that’s the most embarrassing thing to admit.
Now we may as well cash in on Van Dyke to at least limit the financial loss. I’m sick of the promises that are not met with performances…are there any other employees who are allowed to have so many disastrous off days without being canned?
Totally, totally despondent so I am.

Lack of quality all over the park. Left back area was never sorted, awful up front, we create f*ck all, midfield is terrible. brown and mulgrew are two of the worst players to have ever played so many games for us. I bought into this deila bullshit last season as i thought he’d change it but yet again we have been conned by our board. Deila F**k off, don’t wanna hear excuses, the next manager that thinks brown or mulgrew are fit to kick a ball for Celtic should be drop kicked back to where they came from. Awful, no plan A never mind a plan B and it’s been the same since start of pre-season. A complete failure despite the easiest draw in history. To the board, to deila, to scott brown to charlie mulgrew fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk offffffffff

Team full of useless bastards, i’m sure lovely people but we are run like a semi professional team. Do your job have quality or get out to fuck! (our captain sets the example and he’s the worst offender) It’s not that if ronny can’t see it he should be out, it’s that he hasn’t seen it by now so get rid of him! Sold out again by our useless bastard board. Boycott EVERYTHING until this shit is sorted. Feeder club to fucking southampton, buying all from dundee utd. Sickened, shame on you bastards who have done this to our great club.

You can trace the roots of this demise back a couple of years when Finboggason was available for 4M…he was scoring at will in any team he played, but we went the “cheap” route and bought bums that hadn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t score goals regularly. Usually they were players who had been out for long spells injured and their clubs were looking to offload them on some dumb schmuck of a club looking for bargain basement buys…then along comes Celtic. The aforementioned player went to another club and continued scoring…and his value went up!!
Now we’re interested in an Aston Villa “striker” ( I use the word loosely ) who again is a player who was out with a broken leg and has scored single figures in his time at Aston Villa….why are we throwing our money away on such shite????????

Agree but can be traced further back than that, think when huns where fucked and we let em win the league. Trace it back to dermot dickmond and the bastards in charge. Eveery season they find a new way to fool us and we swallow it up. We’ve money now for many years, we bring in clowns, absolute clowns with no vision for the future just bullshit quotes. Yeah we’re in a shit league so are Malmo (well done to them btw,crowd where fantastic and they deserved it) Pay the money bring in proper managers who know quality players and who wouldnt even let mulgrew or brown in to watch our games. Bring in quality players. It’s the same thing every season now for 15 years. Bring in players who are a lil better than the shit scottish league players, beat scottish teams 3-0, go into europe get tanked. Bring in a manager who knows what a quality player looks like and we won’t waste so much money on shit.

we’re being ruined just as badly as sevco and we’re blind to it. Remember when we were always second best and the stadium was jammed. If we let this go any longer we will die like sevco, it might already be too late.
