Ronnie Deila – An Apology!

Ronnie Deila – An Apology

In recent months, we, The Scottish Media, along with ex Celtic Players, Managers, SPFL members, Radio Pundits, Radio Phone-In callers and anyone else willing to go on the record, may have given the impression that we believed that Ronnie Deila was:

  • Hopeless
  • A dud
  • A country bumpkin
  • Not Celtic Minded
  • Out of his depth
  • Destroying the Club
  • Destroying Kris Commons
  • Did we mention Hopeless

It is now clear to all to see that this leaner, fitter, clean sheet collecting, goal-scoring, ultra-professional ball retaining, extremely close band of brothers style, team are in fact a representation of the perfect modern football side doing both the club and country proud.

Any insinuation that was made about a bunch of disinterested players ready to rebel and stage a coup to get rid of their incompetent manger and backroom staff was clearly just an honest mistake on our part, and we shall take it on the chin.

Any suggestion that Ronnie Deila and his ideas forย managingย Celtic football clubย were causing a major rift between the club and its fan base were unfounded and on reflection, we may have been slightly premature in stating he was causing more Scandinavian damage on the west coast of Scotland since a bunch of drunk Vikings hit Largs in a longboat.

We do of course offer this apology early in the seasons run in to ensure that we can either claim “See we called it right” when Ronnies team win the League and possibly even a Treble, or who knows a Quadruple, or we can claim “See we called it right!” when his team fail to cross the finish line and do not actually lift the Scottish Cup title in May or fail to beat Dundee United in the League Cup or fall to Aberdeen’s glorious pressure in The league.

Yours

The Scottish Media, and Hugh Keevins

PS. John Harston did say last week on the BBC that it seemed he has egg on his face regarding Ronny

Cartvale88

He has a lean fitter machine, closing opponents down, running through the whole game. However their is a lack of killer instinct. I have been to quite a few home games this season and the chances created are unbelievable, however the ratio is two goals a game.
We need a forward coach why not Christ Sutton or Hartson to improve our teams finishing.
Every team we have. Played this season and drawn or lost to in the Scottish league has been beaten on chances, however like
Hamilton they scored their only decent chance.
The turnaround in Griffiths is phenomenal.
Onwards an upwards, forgetting the dancing in the streets of Raith, and a EGM to look forward too for the laptop loyal.

Sutton and Hartson are quite content picking up their soft paycheck in the media to bother with any hands on coaching.

Hate to sound greetin’ faced..but ah’m gonny be anyway.
Cartvale 88 above…expressed some of my doubts.
There’s no doubt that the work rate and ball retention is exceptional…no argument there.
But…
I still think we pass the ball about far too much…
Our final ball (especially Izzy) is dreadful….
And our finishing is poor…by any standards.
Do I see a big improvement…? Of course I do…
Are we ready to say we’ve arrived..?
Not yet…. in my opinion.
SO RD is gonny have to wait.
HH
PS: As for bringing Sutton back…no thanks.

Keevins is a Dick….
I don’t read his stuff..I don’t listen to his stuff either…
But all I responded to was that ” RD was due an apology ”
I just think it’s early doors for that….
But I hope and pray he gets one eventually…from me..:0)..
As for the Cup draw…?
Bring it on…Let’s test ourselves to the full.
But it has seriously undermined the Cup competition..although Big John Hughes will be delighted.

Well I did ask you to give him until the end of the season but you wouldn’t listen.

Forgive my Fenian paranoia but have we, say in the last decade or so, ever had an easy run of draws in any Cup? I also know we have lost a lot of ties to supposedly inferior competition. Arabs away was the worst draw we could have had. All the early talk of Treble still makes me/made me nervous. Too much can happen.

Desi 1 Ralph 0.
I was also in the doubting Thomas team.My biggest compliment,is ball retention and player movement are of a very high standard under Ronny as opposed to Lenny.
Yes,we aren’t scoring enough goals, yet. But,I put that down to wasting 2.3M on Scepovic. We still have to buy a quality striker,to lead the line, especially for CL qualifiers.

Bang on Devoy, the worst possibble draw, Dundee Utd AWAY, out of a permutation of what? yet again Celtic get it stuck right to them (us).
Opperation: Halt the treble, truely underway.

You could wait for it.

I disagree.
What better way,to win The Treble,by doing it the hard way.Bring it on!

I wouldn’t really dissagree with you HS, It’s the in your face regularity of these draws that quite frankly astound me, that’s why I mentioned, the permutations (sp). They must be pretty long.
It’s just an opinion, but in my years the football authorities in Scotland, under whatever guise they may be using at the time, will always make it as hard for us whenever possible and It’s been proven in a court of law and within the refereeing fraternity, they do and have been proven to have cheated our team in the past, so no-one should be shocked or ridicule (not that you have HS) such a notion. It’s just one of those things, It’s great stuffing them when they make it tough for us, but if they do it regularly enough, which they do, they’re going to get the desired result, a Celtic defeat, at least a percentage of the time.

Sorry, it just picks away at an old scab.

Mick,I know exactly where your coming from.I wouldn’t be surprised,if there was dodgy dealings at the draw.Yes,I would have preferred Hibs tie. But,the way I see it,RD should dangle the carrot,of the Treble,in front of the players
Focus on 4 games, for 2 cups. And the league should take care of it’s self.
The way the players are talking, this is a good thing.Normally,I wouldn’t want any such talk. But there is clever psychology involved here. The players are well up for it,and know the prizes at stake!

When are they going to sort that c-nt McCullough , before someone is seriously hurt. Two weeks in a row, yellows for elbow attacks and zilch for the following stamps. Is that useless twat of a compliance officer in the building?. Hh

Yes its the hardest draw we could have had but the atmosphere will be electric & much better than if the game was played at paradise. After our recent problems in the cup at home I will always take an away draw in the cup cept v newco obviously always guaranteed a good atmosphere unlike a third full/half empty Celtic Park.

We owe them big time for league defeat a few weeks ago so lets get them pumped outta the cup!!

Nah! You never caught me out this time. I knew you were like me. We had faith in Ronny and a good deal of shite in our trousers. I still haven’t switched off the washing machine, though I have it on quick wash now.

Well, how the cynics have been scrambled. U who, turn around! But me, I have had a clean face all season. However, I still have a dozen large on the shelf just in case ๐Ÿ™‚

Lets see out the season before we put anyone up on pedestals, eh? I want to see more of a killer instinct in front of the goal first. Credit where credit is due, but only when the job is seen through and we have the title and some silverware safely tucked away.

From the last 19 Scottish cup draws Celtic have been drawn away 17 times is that just a coincidence? Saying that the two home ties were a defeat to the sheep and a draw against Arbroath so maybe the bastards are inadvertedly doing us a favour Hail x2

As was said in yesterdays diary, Dundee Utd away was always likely to be the draw. Yes they do try their best to make it as difficult as possible for us but by God, it is soooooo much sweeter when we prevail.

Utd 3 weekends on the spin will be difficul, but, be honest, do you think we will fail?
