Twas the night before Christmas, and an old, old friend was feeling lonely. No-one had sent him a card, no presents were under the tree, and he was beginning to feel that no-one cared anymore. Everyone had forgotten him.
It was so, so different just even a few months ago. He had been the toast of the town, the life and soul of the party. His friends and family came to see him-some had even travelled from lands across the sea.
Where were they now ? Surely they hadn’t forgotten him him ? Surely they were not too wrapped up in their own world, with their own lives, to spare just a few moments for one who often thinks of them ? Someone who would, and indeed had, risked his own well being to help them out when they were strangers to him.. Strangers who had promised to love and respect him. Strangers who it seemed had made him one of their own-invited and welcomed him into their family.
He would be alone no more !
And yet, could it be that those strangers, had now forgotten him, and had tossed him aside once they had used him for their own ends ?
No, because this is a special family, who always remembers their own.
And they came, because they wanted him to know that he is, was and always will be one of us.
One of the family.
He was glad to see them, and thrilled when they dressed him up so that he could feel a part of the festive spirit
And they reminded him why they will always remember him. Why they are proud to be his friends, and why he will always be one of them.
How happy was he! He had not been forgotten after all. He was still one of the family ! He had friends, thousands and thousands of friends, who would never forget him!
This festive season, we would ask you to remember all those who are important to you, and to pick up the phone, or send a text. Or better still, pop round and see them
To let friends know that they are still in our thoughts. You can see how happy it makes them.
Merry Christmas, from all of us to all of you .

There’s no room for this type of humour. You should be ashamed of yourselves. That pole committed the most violent and deliberate act of assault on an innocent young rookie police officer who was defending the good citizens of his city from rampaginf and pillaging barbarians. And you think it’s great to glorify this type of violence? I’m appalled.
Ban the pole from all games, especially of it has a flag attached.
…. Naw your right – there wasn’t much room. You try sticking Xmas décor & all sorts of shit on a pole (or a Czech?) – not to mention trying to take photos after >3 pints of Guinness – with cars, trams, bikes flying around you in all directions, plus keeping one eye out (I have 3) for the Polis at the same time – It was no laughing matter.
I forgot to say in the midst of my sarkiness well done mate. That was fantastic and a great laugh. Cheers for that.
Nae borra Frankie. I didn’t see it as sarkiness. HH
Ralph,very sentimental.
I am also looking forward to
the whole Celtic family getting
back together as ONE.
Where our brothers (some ) in the
Green Brigade have played the part
as Prodigals.
But now they are welcomed back
with open arms.
A Merry Christmas to the Celtic family.
Here’s the context/background stuff I was too late with..

On Friday night/Saturday morning, Celtic fans struck a positive PR blow when a poster in support of the remaining Amsterdam5 still fighting to clear their names, was posted on “The Pole Of Justice” on Dam Square in Amsterdam.
Those who’re familiar with the events surrounding The Day The Dam Burst (so to speak) will recognise the pole from this footage:-

…and will also recognize the “Romeo” (undercover cop) as the same one caught earlier on camera kicking the shit out of Padraig Mullan.

You may also be aware that Ajax Ultras from VAK410 stuck their own poster on that same pole a few week back, complaining about the police brutality and saying that Celtic fans were not to blame for starting the trouble.
Anyway, in the spirit of this festive season, some enterprising Celtic fans decided it was time to get their own message across by adding their own poster and tarting up the pole with a wee bit of Celtic themed Xmas decor.
The results of that stunt can be seen in the “photo montage” above. Based on the fact that even passing Ajax fans were impressed enough to offer to have their photos taken with the Celtic version of the pole, says enough about how this action was viewed. The reaction from the general public was equally positive and supportive.
We gather that the cameraman also used his charms to persuade a group of 5 gorgeous teenage Dutch blondes to pose around the pole, but that didn’t come out due to a technical hitch – the cameraman was so excited with the thought of this blond pole dancing extravaganza he forget to remove the forking lens! Tru BTW Argghh!
However, I think you’ll agree that it’s really nice to have a story about Celtic fans with a relaly positive vibe at this festive time of year? Makes a pleasant change from all that doom & gloom, eh
