Fishing : Gone!

Fisher by Brian53

Billy Fisher was just your average Joe but this was what gave him an edge, that and the fact that his Mother had been a seamstress of renown. He was thinking about her as he made the finishing touches to his latest banner. Recruited by SI5 at an early age he had many talents and considered himself one of their top agents. A master of subterfuge he had been working undercover for nearly 5 years now and it was beginning to bear fruit.

Head was going through the active case files on all his agents for his weekly report to ‘N’ when he came across the Fisher file. He remembered when he had recruited Fisher, a spotty young Catholic bhoy and a communist to boot, a rare combination, particularly from Govan. The bhoy had been on the fringe of being a Celtic football supporter but had never made the transition. Proclaiming to be a scholar of Irish history his knowledge had come mainly from altered football songs and pub banter. He had been the perfect recruit eager to belief the anti-Irish and anti-Catholic mantra of SI5. Head remembered how easy it had been to fill his empty head, he wondered if he was still as dumb and delusional today. He would have to speak to his controller.

Smart put the phone down, bhoy he thought what’s his problem. He didn’t often get a phone call from Head it was normally just a memo about the weekly reports he sent in. The call had been a bit terse to say the least.

Head shook his head, what is it he thought with this seven rings nonsense. Next, they’ll all be using vibrators at work. A knock at the door, “enter” he said. Smart quickly entered the room and sat on the small plastic chair in front of the large desk. Head counted off the equivalent of seven rings before he looked up, another seven before he spoke. “Right Smart I want to know how you had intended to proceed in regards to Fisher”

Smart squirmed in the uncomfortable plastic chair under the unrelenting gaze from Head. “Well Sir, I had passed on your instructions about the banners and as we now know he had no problem implementing them.” “How often do you debrief him” “Normally once a month, Sir” “Make it once a fortnight” “Yes Sir” “I will send you fresh instructions in a memo after I speak to ‘N’, your dismissed.”

Head smiled to himself, to think we have been trying to bring them down for years, who would have thought someone as stupid and delusional as Fisher could achieve such startling results in such a short space of time? The guy’s in the organisation that he had infiltrated didnt have a clue
