Just for clarification purposes. I posted a question for JP on the Wednesday Diary. Did you not ask the question or did he not wish too answer it?

And to clarify, John Paul had a “no holds barred” policy regards Questions and answered everything openly and without any hint of avoidance.

A true credit to the Celtic support who he encourages all Celtic fans to raise any issue with him direct. He constantly highlighted that anyone fans issue is important and he would do as much as he can to address.

Duly asked and answered – credit to JPT for swift response:

Do Ron Ron Ron asks
what are the clubs plans in tackling our away support? Apart from supplying names and addresses of individuals to the Polis, what other ways are they going to break up Supporter’s clubs? Some of us have noticed a reduction in available tickets for away games.

JPT replies:
In terms of the question, I have been asked this before, the Club to the best of my knowledge have not supplied any details to the Police, my understanding of the Data Protection Act is that in order to gain access to a person’s personal details a Section 29 Form has to be completed which is retained on file. If anyone wishes to know if their details has been supplied they can submit a SAR (subject access request) to the organisation in question which should provide details of all contact relative to their personal information. Any concerns should then be raised with the Information Commissioner’s Office who are responsible for ensuring that personal data is managed in accordance with the act.

In terms of tickets, we sell the maximum number of tickets that we can for all games, there are now 5 Clubs who sell directly to Celtic fans so we have no impact on ticket sales at Hearts, Hibs, St Johnstone, PTFC and St Mirren so I can’t see where this is coming from but happy to explore any specifics if they can be provided.

Apologies.
Ralph to be fair did ensure it was highlighted and on the question sheet but in the excitement and time frame we missed a whole raft of questions. I blame Ralph and his rants for a toilet in Coach Park.
I will pass question to John Paul and post the answer back here.

Thanks for such a prompt reply. More than anything I wanted the question asked and answered in a public forum.

Desi

Just finished part two, mainly because I just had to go to Parkhead concours and try out the new Ralph Malph toilet facilities. But I am sure that wall was there even back when I went as a kid.

That was one of the best. JP sounds like a really committed guy who wants to do the best for the fans AND the club just as it should be. I was a bit suspicious that in spite of this in the final analysis his hands could be tied on key issues even accepting there can be logistical problems into consideration. However, in spite of this potential shortcoming, it is a real breath of fresh air to have a voice that will at least make public how the fans not only should be but are treated. The guy has a lot of guts taking on 100,000s of fitba nutters every day.

Thanks for another bit of listening worth giving up two hours for – or even Eastenders. As long as it does not encroach on strictly. I just have to watch the only guy that is older than me. By the way, Hector, if you get so “excited” over the Lustig moustache, I am definitely not turning my back on you with my bonny beard especially in Ralph’s toilets. No matter what fags are smoked in there, I’m not one of them.

Thoroughly enjoyable listen, lads, and enlightening stuff from JPT.
