00:03:23.256 --> 00:03:24.256
Good evening, folks,

00:03:24.376 --> 00:03:26.578
and welcome to the E-Times Podcast.

00:03:26.698 --> 00:03:28.118
My name is Desi Mowen,

00:03:28.218 --> 00:03:29.580
and I am very glad to

00:03:29.639 --> 00:03:31.781
welcome the usual

00:03:31.820 --> 00:03:33.622
panellists and a very special guest,

00:03:34.021 --> 00:03:36.524
possibly a future long-term panellist.

00:03:36.563 --> 00:03:37.584
We'll see how it goes,

00:03:37.604 --> 00:03:39.064
if she actually sticks around.

00:03:39.945 --> 00:03:41.546
For this end of season...

00:03:42.306 --> 00:03:44.229
review stroke cup final

00:03:44.368 --> 00:03:46.691
preview podcast tonight so

00:03:46.730 --> 00:03:47.671
I'm glad to say first of

00:03:47.692 --> 00:03:48.913
all I'm joined by our

00:03:49.013 --> 00:03:50.414
resident tactician the man

00:03:50.455 --> 00:03:51.395
in the suburbs hector

00:03:51.436 --> 00:03:52.637
bandido good evening hector

00:03:52.657 --> 00:03:55.158
evening everyone thank you

00:03:55.179 --> 00:03:56.539
for joining and the man the

00:03:56.781 --> 00:03:58.823
pilot of the atari carrier

00:03:59.143 --> 00:04:00.144
ralph mouth good evening

00:04:00.163 --> 00:04:01.844
ralph how are you doing you're right

00:04:02.875 --> 00:04:03.675
Thank you very much for

00:04:03.695 --> 00:04:05.556
joining and our very special guest,

00:04:05.956 --> 00:04:08.038
the person who, Hector,

00:04:08.397 --> 00:04:09.179
would we say the word

00:04:09.218 --> 00:04:10.819
shamed is correct on the

00:04:10.860 --> 00:04:12.040
previous podcast?

00:04:12.461 --> 00:04:14.222
Did we shame her into joining us?

00:04:14.722 --> 00:04:15.163
We did.

00:04:15.902 --> 00:04:17.363
Would we be cancelled for that?

00:04:17.603 --> 00:04:19.165
So let's ask Karen herself.

00:04:19.504 --> 00:04:20.545
Karen, a.k.a.

00:04:20.586 --> 00:04:22.487
Happy Celtic Last Form Twitter.

00:04:22.927 --> 00:04:24.889
Did we shame you into joining us tonight,

00:04:24.988 --> 00:04:25.408
Karen?

00:04:27.125 --> 00:04:27.745
Partly,

00:04:27.805 --> 00:04:29.565
but it was really your negotiation

00:04:29.586 --> 00:04:31.307
skills when you offered me

00:04:31.367 --> 00:04:34.067
priority parking at Kings Park.

00:04:34.687 --> 00:04:35.067
Oh,

00:04:36.468 --> 00:04:38.548
Hector was not aware of this under the

00:04:38.588 --> 00:04:39.850
count of Dale Cameron.

00:04:39.949 --> 00:04:41.790
We'll let that slip.

00:04:42.230 --> 00:04:44.911
So again,

00:04:44.932 --> 00:04:47.213
we do have the cup final coming

00:04:47.252 --> 00:04:48.233
up at the weekend and

00:04:48.293 --> 00:04:50.074
Hector normally tries to get in first.

00:04:51.374 --> 00:04:52.975
And like the Gallagate on

00:04:53.435 --> 00:04:54.396
title winning day,

00:04:54.975 --> 00:04:57.478
my car park spaces are like,

00:04:57.517 --> 00:04:58.819
go dust and cut final day,

00:04:58.838 --> 00:05:00.100
because all my family come

00:05:00.120 --> 00:05:00.839
out to woodwork.

00:05:01.199 --> 00:05:02.240
Everybody seems to appear

00:05:02.261 --> 00:05:02.880
and suddenly what?

00:05:03.180 --> 00:05:05.182
But Hector Caron does have

00:05:05.242 --> 00:05:06.283
priority this time.

00:05:06.403 --> 00:05:09.464
Well, Desi, I'm never on that topic,

00:05:09.485 --> 00:05:10.346
right?

00:05:10.646 --> 00:05:11.687
there's three of us in a wee

00:05:11.726 --> 00:05:13.449
network and we get two for

00:05:13.468 --> 00:05:15.170
the league cup final so me

00:05:15.189 --> 00:05:16.310
and my youngest boy went

00:05:16.492 --> 00:05:17.733
and my mate's boy he didn't

00:05:17.752 --> 00:05:19.915
get one so we thought the

00:05:19.935 --> 00:05:21.115
next time we get a final

00:05:21.896 --> 00:05:23.458
get to him we get one for

00:05:23.497 --> 00:05:25.079
the scottish cup final so

00:05:25.680 --> 00:05:26.581
he goes to the gamesways

00:05:26.940 --> 00:05:28.041
he's he's got the season

00:05:28.062 --> 00:05:29.684
ticket gave him the ticket

00:05:29.723 --> 00:05:30.985
so up until about an hour

00:05:31.084 --> 00:05:33.146
ago I didn't have a ticket

00:05:33.166 --> 00:05:33.767
for the cup final

00:05:37.060 --> 00:05:39.583
but it's amazing.

00:05:39.624 --> 00:05:40.584
Hector's lifting up.

00:05:40.725 --> 00:05:41.846
Oh, don't make it a barcode.

00:05:41.886 --> 00:05:42.646
Let's get the barcode.

00:05:42.687 --> 00:05:43.387
No more that, Desi.

00:05:43.427 --> 00:05:44.327
No more that, Desi.

00:05:44.428 --> 00:05:45.249
Look, Desi, look.

00:05:45.288 --> 00:05:46.690
Oh, lovely.

00:05:49.814 --> 00:05:50.375
Hector,

00:05:50.435 --> 00:05:51.855
why have you built Celtic with an F?

00:05:53.987 --> 00:05:55.329
You can't reserve these

00:05:56.571 --> 00:05:58.331
golden ticket car park space.

00:05:58.351 --> 00:06:00.233
The Wally Wonka car park, I can call it.

00:06:00.574 --> 00:06:01.394
Golden ticket.

00:06:01.475 --> 00:06:03.576
I couldn't reserve it without a ticket,

00:06:03.596 --> 00:06:04.038
Daisy.

00:06:06.639 --> 00:06:07.942
I'll swap the ticket for the

00:06:07.982 --> 00:06:08.862
car park space.

00:06:11.225 --> 00:06:12.766
Negotiating skills there, eh?

00:06:12.786 --> 00:06:13.286
Classic.

00:06:14.208 --> 00:06:15.149
Yes, so...

00:06:16.112 --> 00:06:16.872
Again, Hector,

00:06:16.913 --> 00:06:18.213
let me know if you're coming over.

00:06:18.233 --> 00:06:19.714
There is a few family members,

00:06:19.774 --> 00:06:21.235
but we can always try and

00:06:21.276 --> 00:06:22.257
make space somehow.

00:06:22.937 --> 00:06:24.959
But yeah, I thought it was all digital.

00:06:24.978 --> 00:06:26.660
I thought it would have gone all digital,

00:06:27.019 --> 00:06:27.420
Hamden.

00:06:28.060 --> 00:06:29.362
Same as the semi-final, remember?

00:06:31.262 --> 00:06:32.723
This isn't one of the Monty

00:06:32.744 --> 00:06:34.586
C. Burns corporate tickets you've got,

00:06:34.646 --> 00:06:34.865
is it?

00:06:35.706 --> 00:06:36.286
Not quite.

00:06:36.867 --> 00:06:38.488
Let's just say it's not got a price on it.

00:06:38.788 --> 00:06:39.730
That's all I'm saying.

00:06:40.149 --> 00:06:41.071
I thought you were going to say,

00:06:41.091 --> 00:06:41.971
let's just say it's not on

00:06:41.990 --> 00:06:42.651
the selling end.

00:06:45.447 --> 00:06:50.468
It's just the fact that

00:06:50.569 --> 00:06:51.870
Aberdeen was in bold in

00:06:51.910 --> 00:06:54.610
that ticket you just showed me there.

00:06:54.711 --> 00:06:55.651
Aberdeen's in bold,

00:06:56.012 --> 00:06:57.533
and there's no mention of Celtic, I think,

00:06:57.552 --> 00:06:58.752
because Aberdeen against the P.A.

00:06:59.074 --> 00:07:00.954
And there's a footy of Drew

00:07:00.975 --> 00:07:02.134
Jarvie waving at you.

00:07:02.175 --> 00:07:03.076
What year is that?

00:07:03.495 --> 00:07:04.036
Paul Hegarty.

00:07:07.028 --> 00:07:08.269
So there, so yes folks,

00:07:08.288 --> 00:07:09.350
so we have the Scottish Cup

00:07:09.370 --> 00:07:11.411
final this weekend, but let's,

00:07:12.213 --> 00:07:13.394
we like to look back before

00:07:13.413 --> 00:07:14.095
we look forward.

00:07:14.475 --> 00:07:16.416
So I've asked the panellists tonight,

00:07:16.637 --> 00:07:18.759
sent them a few guidelines

00:07:18.860 --> 00:07:20.100
and we're looking for your

00:07:20.201 --> 00:07:21.442
thoughts on this season.

00:07:21.983 --> 00:07:23.663
So, and that can include anything.

00:07:23.843 --> 00:07:24.964
I know last night we had

00:07:25.086 --> 00:07:26.987
Ange winning the Europa League,

00:07:27.026 --> 00:07:27.807
which was a nice thought

00:07:27.887 --> 00:07:28.528
for a lot of people.

00:07:29.209 --> 00:07:30.391
So Hector, we'll start with you.

00:07:31.425 --> 00:07:32.586
Any immediate thoughts when

00:07:32.625 --> 00:07:33.726
you think of this season,

00:07:33.807 --> 00:07:35.108
anything spring to mind,

00:07:35.228 --> 00:07:37.471
anything that stood out, can I hear?

00:07:38.372 --> 00:07:38.891
Well, obviously,

00:07:38.911 --> 00:07:41.555
just in advance of Saturday,

00:07:41.574 --> 00:07:42.935
that would determine how

00:07:42.956 --> 00:07:44.598
successful a season it's been, right?

00:07:44.838 --> 00:07:46.019
But up until now,

00:07:47.610 --> 00:07:49.252
I think overall we've been really,

00:07:49.312 --> 00:07:49.812
really good.

00:07:49.831 --> 00:07:50.992
I think the big,

00:07:51.012 --> 00:07:52.492
if we were to go back to pre-season,

00:07:53.213 --> 00:07:54.052
obviously the league and

00:07:54.593 --> 00:07:55.834
the advantage we have over

00:07:55.874 --> 00:07:56.533
other clubs and money,

00:07:56.853 --> 00:07:57.894
we should be favourites

00:07:57.913 --> 00:07:58.473
every year to win the

00:07:58.494 --> 00:07:59.615
league as things stand, right?

00:08:00.014 --> 00:08:01.394
But Europe was the big thing, wasn't it?

00:08:01.435 --> 00:08:02.475
It was actually for once

00:08:03.216 --> 00:08:04.115
doing well in Europe,

00:08:04.156 --> 00:08:05.235
especially the Champions League.

00:08:05.357 --> 00:08:06.276
And I felt this year,

00:08:07.036 --> 00:08:08.699
for the first time in quite some time,

00:08:08.718 --> 00:08:09.738
maybe a decade or so.

00:08:10.120 --> 00:08:11.300
I thought we did really well,

00:08:11.761 --> 00:08:13.021
especially after getting pumped,

00:08:13.122 --> 00:08:14.764
was it the second game against Dortmund?

00:08:15.223 --> 00:08:16.584
I thought we recovered really well.

00:08:16.625 --> 00:08:17.526
And going to Atalanta,

00:08:18.706 --> 00:08:19.507
I suppose a bit like,

00:08:19.548 --> 00:08:20.908
we'll probably cover Ange last night,

00:08:20.949 --> 00:08:22.230
I suppose a bit like Ange last night,

00:08:23.130 --> 00:08:24.132
playing a totally different

00:08:24.151 --> 00:08:25.153
set of tactics to what

00:08:25.173 --> 00:08:26.194
Rodgers would normally do.

00:08:26.874 --> 00:08:28.035
And then I thought against Leipzig,

00:08:28.516 --> 00:08:29.637
we took up a level or two

00:08:29.656 --> 00:08:30.596
and were brilliant that night.

00:08:30.697 --> 00:08:32.418
And then through the kind of,

00:08:32.759 --> 00:08:34.301
was it the last, last sixteen,

00:08:34.341 --> 00:08:35.581
last twenty-four knockout round?

00:08:36.928 --> 00:08:40.230
And taking Bayern so close, I think... So,

00:08:40.250 --> 00:08:42.010
for me, obviously,

00:08:42.030 --> 00:08:42.530
you want to be in the

00:08:42.571 --> 00:08:43.471
league every single season.

00:08:43.491 --> 00:08:44.251
That's the bread and butter.

00:08:44.272 --> 00:08:45.533
But I thought in the Champions League,

00:08:45.552 --> 00:08:47.313
for once, I thought we did really well.

00:08:47.354 --> 00:08:48.173
And I think that was my

00:08:48.214 --> 00:08:50.034
highlight overall of the season.

00:08:51.634 --> 00:08:51.695
OK.

00:08:51.715 --> 00:08:51.975
OK.

00:08:52.056 --> 00:08:53.056
Karen, what about you?

00:08:53.456 --> 00:08:55.136
Anything that stands out

00:08:55.216 --> 00:08:56.197
when you think of the season?

00:08:56.898 --> 00:08:57.918
On your Twitter feed,

00:08:58.258 --> 00:08:59.379
I would say you tend to be

00:08:59.458 --> 00:09:01.559
quite the glass-half-full

00:09:01.860 --> 00:09:02.980
kind of positive.

00:09:03.000 --> 00:09:03.200
Yeah.

00:09:04.020 --> 00:09:04.201
So...

00:09:06.222 --> 00:09:08.745
I think I can be quiet in

00:09:08.785 --> 00:09:10.086
the initial moment I can be

00:09:10.106 --> 00:09:11.368
quiet down but then I sit

00:09:11.388 --> 00:09:12.368
back and think about things

00:09:12.447 --> 00:09:13.629
actually it's not as bad as

00:09:13.850 --> 00:09:14.850
what I initially thought

00:09:14.889 --> 00:09:16.412
but yeah I would certainly

00:09:16.451 --> 00:09:17.432
go with Europe this year

00:09:17.451 --> 00:09:18.833
has been brilliant I really

00:09:18.854 --> 00:09:21.154
enjoyed it and the Atalanta

00:09:21.336 --> 00:09:23.057
result for me I don't think

00:09:23.096 --> 00:09:24.638
the Leipzig result would

00:09:24.658 --> 00:09:25.899
have happened without the

00:09:25.918 --> 00:09:27.681
Atalanta result I thought

00:09:27.701 --> 00:09:28.600
that was an absolutely

00:09:28.620 --> 00:09:30.562
brilliant performance but

00:09:31.067 --> 00:09:32.048
I'm going to touch on the

00:09:32.067 --> 00:09:33.869
women here getting into the

00:09:33.889 --> 00:09:34.629
Champions League.

00:09:35.129 --> 00:09:36.451
Sorry, apologies, Karen.

00:09:36.471 --> 00:09:39.293
Can I just say to all the listeners,

00:09:39.313 --> 00:09:40.695
Karen said that.

00:09:40.794 --> 00:09:41.716
It was not one of them.

00:09:41.735 --> 00:09:41.936
Oh, sorry.

00:09:41.975 --> 00:09:45.879
It was Karen who said that line there.

00:09:45.899 --> 00:09:48.841
I'm going to talk about the

00:09:48.922 --> 00:09:50.602
Celtic women's team for a moment.

00:09:52.004 --> 00:09:54.066
For us to get into the Champions League,

00:09:54.567 --> 00:09:55.788
the first Scottish team to

00:09:55.807 --> 00:09:57.749
do that was absolutely amazing.

00:09:58.429 --> 00:09:59.130
And, yeah...

00:09:59.630 --> 00:10:01.312
We didn't get any points,

00:10:01.893 --> 00:10:02.974
but we had an absolute

00:10:03.014 --> 00:10:04.535
party and it was brilliant.

00:10:05.436 --> 00:10:07.258
And they didn't disgrace

00:10:07.317 --> 00:10:08.599
ourselves and they should

00:10:08.619 --> 00:10:09.840
be really proud of what they did.

00:10:10.620 --> 00:10:11.481
And so for me,

00:10:11.501 --> 00:10:13.244
that was a huge highlight for the season,

00:10:13.264 --> 00:10:14.945
the women's getting into

00:10:14.965 --> 00:10:16.767
that Champions League.

00:10:17.287 --> 00:10:20.509
So I was really interested.

00:10:20.529 --> 00:10:22.272
I voted, I voted for

00:10:22.870 --> 00:10:24.091
Amy Gallagher's title

00:10:24.111 --> 00:10:25.293
winning goal was your goal

00:10:25.373 --> 00:10:26.774
of the year last year.

00:10:26.794 --> 00:10:27.576
I mean,

00:10:28.035 --> 00:10:30.259
we span seasons rather than we just

00:10:30.318 --> 00:10:31.539
did a yearly award and I

00:10:31.580 --> 00:10:32.260
thought that was a goal

00:10:32.280 --> 00:10:33.663
racing because what it meant,

00:10:34.243 --> 00:10:35.083
and we were discussing it

00:10:35.104 --> 00:10:37.005
recently how everybody woke

00:10:37.086 --> 00:10:38.288
up for the cup final day

00:10:38.327 --> 00:10:39.269
and the first thing we did

00:10:39.288 --> 00:10:40.350
was turn on the telly to

00:10:40.370 --> 00:10:42.251
watch the women's title decider.

00:10:43.693 --> 00:10:45.697
Is all that interest still there,

00:10:45.736 --> 00:10:46.717
do you think?

00:10:46.817 --> 00:10:48.701
Or has it ebbed away this season?

00:10:48.721 --> 00:10:50.001
Did it not get the backing

00:10:50.043 --> 00:10:51.585
it needed to push it on to

00:10:51.605 --> 00:10:52.365
the next level?

00:10:52.666 --> 00:10:56.191
Or has this been a circumstance thing?

00:10:56.250 --> 00:10:57.331
No, absolutely.

00:10:57.412 --> 00:10:58.754
I think the club have lost it.

00:10:59.328 --> 00:11:00.990
Huge opportunity to build on

00:11:01.029 --> 00:11:02.530
what we did last season and

00:11:02.591 --> 00:11:04.032
getting into the Champions League.

00:11:05.432 --> 00:11:06.653
I just am really

00:11:06.673 --> 00:11:08.455
disappointed with how they've done it.

00:11:08.475 --> 00:11:10.255
I mean, the support for the team,

00:11:10.296 --> 00:11:10.936
first of all,

00:11:10.995 --> 00:11:12.677
things like just basic stuff,

00:11:13.457 --> 00:11:15.578
your coach having to beg for

00:11:16.317 --> 00:11:18.977
and another coach and a

00:11:19.018 --> 00:11:20.958
physio halfway through the

00:11:20.999 --> 00:11:22.240
Champions League programme

00:11:22.379 --> 00:11:23.341
because they were struggling.

00:11:23.701 --> 00:11:25.522
Things like that should be basic for us.

00:11:25.942 --> 00:11:27.663
The guys' team have went through this.

00:11:27.682 --> 00:11:28.783
They've got experience of

00:11:28.803 --> 00:11:30.364
what's needed in the Champions League.

00:11:30.705 --> 00:11:31.445
They're telling me that

00:11:31.465 --> 00:11:32.706
there's nobody at the club

00:11:33.225 --> 00:11:34.385
that had a single thought

00:11:34.405 --> 00:11:35.606
that could go and say, look,

00:11:35.986 --> 00:11:37.227
you might need this support,

00:11:37.288 --> 00:11:38.028
you might need this.

00:11:38.428 --> 00:11:40.068
We can do this for you to

00:11:40.089 --> 00:11:41.149
give them a bit of help.

00:11:41.830 --> 00:11:42.890
I didn't see any of that.

00:11:43.967 --> 00:11:44.688
Did you see that?

00:11:45.229 --> 00:11:47.311
Then there's the element about, you know,

00:11:47.511 --> 00:11:48.572
the fan engagement and

00:11:48.592 --> 00:11:49.813
getting the fans involved.

00:11:50.375 --> 00:11:53.378
You know, they could be doing a lot more.

00:11:54.438 --> 00:11:55.279
Scottish football,

00:11:55.360 --> 00:11:56.380
Scottish women's football

00:11:56.441 --> 00:11:57.761
as a whole could be doing a lot more.

00:11:57.861 --> 00:11:59.945
For me, just speaking down to England,

00:12:00.325 --> 00:12:00.946
seeing how they've

00:12:01.025 --> 00:12:02.326
developed the crowns down there,

00:12:02.346 --> 00:12:03.168
especially Arsenal.

00:12:03.715 --> 00:12:05.716
Super proud they do it.

00:12:05.735 --> 00:12:06.615
So there's a lot of things

00:12:06.635 --> 00:12:07.316
that could get done.

00:12:07.816 --> 00:12:08.856
And I just think they've

00:12:08.876 --> 00:12:10.216
lost a big opportunity

00:12:10.256 --> 00:12:11.618
because you saw the last

00:12:11.658 --> 00:12:13.477
two seasons how the crowds were building.

00:12:14.077 --> 00:12:14.258
And yeah,

00:12:14.278 --> 00:12:15.558
we've got some really good crowds

00:12:15.578 --> 00:12:16.759
at the Champions League games.

00:12:16.778 --> 00:12:17.940
But apart from that,

00:12:18.279 --> 00:12:19.360
crowds have been pretty poor.

00:12:20.842 --> 00:12:22.563
I watch you, Desi.

00:12:22.945 --> 00:12:24.927
I try my best to watch a lot

00:12:24.966 --> 00:12:26.528
of the Celtic women's team,

00:12:26.668 --> 00:12:27.970
including the game at

00:12:27.990 --> 00:12:30.113
the... Not the Celtic game at the weekend,

00:12:30.133 --> 00:12:30.753
but obviously it was the

00:12:30.773 --> 00:12:32.054
game at Ibex for Rangers and Hibs.

00:12:32.816 --> 00:12:33.296
And Alba.

00:12:33.797 --> 00:12:35.258
BBC Alba, of all things, right?

00:12:35.739 --> 00:12:36.779
Every single weekend.

00:12:36.799 --> 00:12:38.061
They're the ones... They

00:12:38.201 --> 00:12:39.322
have done for quite some time,

00:12:39.342 --> 00:12:39.903
to be fair to them.

00:12:40.604 --> 00:12:41.445
They've been the ones that's

00:12:41.465 --> 00:12:43.567
sort of pioneering the women's game,

00:12:43.947 --> 00:12:46.249
albeit it's in Gaelic, right?

00:12:47.009 --> 00:12:47.830
Although he does switch when

00:12:47.850 --> 00:12:49.052
he talks to the kind of

00:12:49.072 --> 00:12:50.192
co-commentator at times,

00:12:50.232 --> 00:12:51.273
so they're very good.

00:12:51.313 --> 00:12:53.195
But I would just say that I feel,

00:12:53.575 --> 00:12:54.576
Karen's the expert, not me,

00:12:55.397 --> 00:12:57.099
but watch that it's typical Celtic.

00:12:57.778 --> 00:12:59.239
it's typical Celtic so what

00:12:59.259 --> 00:13:00.279
we in the men's game have

00:13:00.700 --> 00:13:01.580
mowed about for so long is

00:13:01.620 --> 00:13:02.440
Celtic appear to be on the

00:13:02.460 --> 00:13:03.880
right track and all it

00:13:03.900 --> 00:13:05.020
needs is that wee push to

00:13:05.061 --> 00:13:06.562
go on a wee bit further and

00:13:06.601 --> 00:13:07.501
Rodgers probably did that

00:13:07.542 --> 00:13:08.261
the first time he was here

00:13:08.282 --> 00:13:08.981
in mind in the sort of the

00:13:09.022 --> 00:13:10.363
fallout there's always this

00:13:10.383 --> 00:13:12.543
reluctance just to you know

00:13:12.582 --> 00:13:13.604
just to go that wee bit

00:13:13.624 --> 00:13:14.984
further so the women's team

00:13:15.004 --> 00:13:16.283
had all that had all that

00:13:16.344 --> 00:13:18.225
positivity last year all that momentum

00:13:18.965 --> 00:13:20.947
Champions League, they qualified through,

00:13:21.206 --> 00:13:23.668
they got there, and you think, right,

00:13:24.109 --> 00:13:24.708
they're going to have at

00:13:24.729 --> 00:13:26.090
least an extra six games

00:13:26.129 --> 00:13:27.390
against top quality,

00:13:27.490 --> 00:13:28.851
way above what they're used to playing.

00:13:29.273 --> 00:13:30.833
Common sense tells you they

00:13:30.854 --> 00:13:32.014
need more depth in squad,

00:13:32.054 --> 00:13:33.014
a bit more quality,

00:13:33.034 --> 00:13:34.076
a bit more cash spent.

00:13:34.176 --> 00:13:34.576
Nothing.

00:13:34.615 --> 00:13:35.736
Nothing.

00:13:36.118 --> 00:13:36.557
They're blown in.

00:13:36.597 --> 00:13:37.317
What I can see, Karen,

00:13:37.337 --> 00:13:38.198
they were blown in fumes

00:13:38.619 --> 00:13:39.799
through the last three months.

00:13:39.820 --> 00:13:40.660
They were just out.

00:13:40.721 --> 00:13:41.721
They just couldn't handle

00:13:41.741 --> 00:13:43.123
the intensity of those

00:13:43.143 --> 00:13:44.364
games against world-class teams,

00:13:44.724 --> 00:13:45.684
and they were chasing their

00:13:45.705 --> 00:13:46.164
tail after that.

00:13:46.712 --> 00:13:47.374
One hundred percent.

00:13:47.413 --> 00:13:48.835
It's the mental impact as well.

00:13:48.855 --> 00:13:49.254
You know,

00:13:49.796 --> 00:13:50.855
even though we had a lot less

00:13:50.895 --> 00:13:52.437
games in the second half of the season,

00:13:53.018 --> 00:13:54.158
I mean, I was talking to you.

00:13:54.178 --> 00:13:55.059
That's the great thing about

00:13:55.080 --> 00:13:55.679
the women's game.

00:13:55.700 --> 00:13:56.600
You can just have a great

00:13:56.640 --> 00:13:58.423
chat with the girls after the game.

00:13:59.163 --> 00:14:00.104
And, you know,

00:14:00.144 --> 00:14:01.085
they're talking about the

00:14:01.105 --> 00:14:02.326
tiredness of it mentally.

00:14:02.346 --> 00:14:03.245
They're looking forward to

00:14:03.265 --> 00:14:04.326
the holidays and getting a

00:14:04.346 --> 00:14:06.649
break because they need a break from it.

00:14:06.668 --> 00:14:07.710
So, yeah,

00:14:07.850 --> 00:14:09.552
it has been a huge learning curve.

00:14:09.572 --> 00:14:10.052
But again,

00:14:10.952 --> 00:14:12.214
is the club going to support

00:14:12.234 --> 00:14:13.695
them going forward?

00:14:13.914 --> 00:14:15.777
So we're not in Europe next season.

00:14:16.677 --> 00:14:17.856
um so they're going to we're

00:14:17.897 --> 00:14:19.097
starting from scratch again

00:14:19.118 --> 00:14:21.177
essentially um are the club

00:14:21.197 --> 00:14:22.158
going to support them to

00:14:22.177 --> 00:14:23.438
this time make sure it's

00:14:23.479 --> 00:14:24.519
going to be sustainable

00:14:25.418 --> 00:14:26.759
time will tell and I also

00:14:26.818 --> 00:14:28.620
felt sorry desi just and

00:14:28.980 --> 00:14:30.539
this is just just my view

00:14:31.139 --> 00:14:33.480
and you can listen to some

00:14:33.520 --> 00:14:34.600
of the feedback for some of

00:14:34.620 --> 00:14:36.902
the the fans as well and I

00:14:36.922 --> 00:14:38.182
know that the celtic

00:14:38.261 --> 00:14:39.201
coaches took about a

00:14:39.261 --> 00:14:40.602
criticism so I'm I'm not

00:14:40.623 --> 00:14:41.883
like you're at the games

00:14:41.903 --> 00:14:42.702
you're amongst everything

00:14:43.062 --> 00:14:45.303
but somebody's sitting back a wee bit um

00:14:45.964 --> 00:14:47.144
I actually feel for her a

00:14:47.164 --> 00:14:49.806
bit because when she came in for Fran,

00:14:49.826 --> 00:14:50.586
Fran had this big

00:14:50.605 --> 00:14:51.447
personality didn't they?

00:14:51.866 --> 00:14:53.307
He would wind people up as well,

00:14:53.327 --> 00:14:53.888
opposition,

00:14:53.927 --> 00:14:54.869
he would wind up constantly

00:14:54.889 --> 00:14:57.169
but he had this energy about him, right?

00:14:57.210 --> 00:14:58.471
But he left mid-season,

00:14:58.691 --> 00:15:00.511
she came in and she got the

00:15:00.552 --> 00:15:01.951
title done when she came in

00:15:02.373 --> 00:15:03.613
and I just think she's got

00:15:03.692 --> 00:15:05.214
a very different personality,

00:15:05.433 --> 00:15:06.534
nobody has the same as Fran,

00:15:06.595 --> 00:15:08.615
totally opposite, polar opposite, right?

00:15:09.235 --> 00:15:11.580
But she seems very focused and like that.

00:15:12.120 --> 00:15:12.881
But he was the opposite.

00:15:12.902 --> 00:15:13.543
He was a bullion.

00:15:14.004 --> 00:15:15.506
And I just think... I felt

00:15:15.527 --> 00:15:16.028
for her because...

00:15:17.221 --> 00:15:19.403
I think she just needs back

00:15:19.423 --> 00:15:21.163
to give her a chance with her players,

00:15:21.644 --> 00:15:22.565
right?

00:15:22.585 --> 00:15:23.605
Absolutely merits criticism

00:15:23.625 --> 00:15:24.446
at times this season,

00:15:24.466 --> 00:15:25.806
but let's go back to the Champions League,

00:15:25.846 --> 00:15:27.167
getting there, winning the league,

00:15:27.567 --> 00:15:29.427
getting there, no batting,

00:15:29.807 --> 00:15:30.828
players blowing fumes.

00:15:31.328 --> 00:15:32.929
I just think that she merits

00:15:33.029 --> 00:15:34.791
getting support next season.

00:15:34.990 --> 00:15:36.731
If it doesn't work at that point for me,

00:15:36.751 --> 00:15:37.152
fair enough,

00:15:37.172 --> 00:15:38.633
but I think she deserves an

00:15:38.653 --> 00:15:39.793
opportunity to have a go

00:15:39.813 --> 00:15:40.453
with her own players.

00:15:41.716 --> 00:15:42.436
It's that thing we were

00:15:42.476 --> 00:15:43.236
talking about before,

00:15:43.256 --> 00:15:44.798
when you go to a game and

00:15:45.080 --> 00:15:46.140
to be honest a lot of the

00:15:46.160 --> 00:15:47.162
football has been pretty

00:15:47.261 --> 00:15:50.405
awful and you think how can

00:15:50.446 --> 00:15:52.187
she survive this because

00:15:52.207 --> 00:15:54.429
you can't see necessarily

00:15:54.570 --> 00:15:56.211
what the partner play is or

00:15:56.272 --> 00:15:58.235
what the actual strategy is,

00:15:58.514 --> 00:16:00.616
you just don't have the players to do it.

00:16:02.298 --> 00:16:03.120
Is it coaching?

00:16:03.620 --> 00:16:05.160
Is it just a pure lack of

00:16:05.341 --> 00:16:06.383
investment from the club?

00:16:06.403 --> 00:16:08.024
So there's all these factors.

00:16:08.764 --> 00:16:09.745
And then there's the element

00:16:09.764 --> 00:16:11.307
where she even talked about herself,

00:16:11.346 --> 00:16:11.547
where

00:16:12.076 --> 00:16:13.395
She felt that most of the

00:16:13.416 --> 00:16:14.336
year she's been doing a

00:16:14.376 --> 00:16:15.476
manager's job rather than

00:16:15.496 --> 00:16:16.976
what she was engaged to do,

00:16:17.136 --> 00:16:18.038
a coaching job.

00:16:18.697 --> 00:16:20.138
And I think she's learned a

00:16:20.158 --> 00:16:21.437
lot from this season where

00:16:22.019 --> 00:16:23.298
she's going to try and

00:16:23.339 --> 00:16:24.719
focus on what her job is

00:16:24.759 --> 00:16:26.980
and not worry about all the rest of it.

00:16:27.039 --> 00:16:29.580
So from my point of view,

00:16:31.100 --> 00:16:32.321
I really struggled with

00:16:32.360 --> 00:16:33.600
some of the football this year,

00:16:33.941 --> 00:16:35.562
but I'm willing to give her

00:16:35.601 --> 00:16:36.322
another chance.

00:16:36.861 --> 00:16:38.722
But she can't be hung out to dry.

00:16:38.863 --> 00:16:39.822
She needs the support.

00:16:40.602 --> 00:16:41.582
And you've got to remember,

00:16:41.623 --> 00:16:43.464
she is only thirty, thirty-one,

00:16:43.724 --> 00:16:44.504
a young coach.

00:16:45.043 --> 00:16:46.524
That was her first full season.

00:16:47.705 --> 00:16:49.566
And if you can learn from it

00:16:49.686 --> 00:16:51.105
and we can do better next season,

00:16:51.145 --> 00:16:52.106
then we've won a watch.

00:16:52.866 --> 00:16:53.927
If not, you know,

00:16:54.366 --> 00:16:55.628
does it set us back another

00:16:55.648 --> 00:16:56.388
two or three years?

00:16:56.447 --> 00:16:58.989
I don't know.

00:16:59.048 --> 00:17:03.769
Yeah, I thought it was very much.

00:17:03.809 --> 00:17:04.950
I was listening to the game.

00:17:04.970 --> 00:17:06.090
Sorry.

00:17:06.451 --> 00:17:07.570
Just one point I thought was

00:17:07.590 --> 00:17:08.291
really interesting.

00:17:08.751 --> 00:17:09.352
That whole

00:17:10.013 --> 00:17:11.815
competitiveness of the women's league,

00:17:12.255 --> 00:17:13.315
the fact that that's four

00:17:13.355 --> 00:17:15.056
different winners in the last four years.

00:17:15.336 --> 00:17:15.556
I mean,

00:17:15.576 --> 00:17:16.797
that's the sort of competitive

00:17:16.836 --> 00:17:17.836
league you're looking to.

00:17:18.458 --> 00:17:20.137
That's what gets people interested.

00:17:20.198 --> 00:17:21.338
No runaway leagues.

00:17:21.378 --> 00:17:22.338
I know we love winning the

00:17:22.358 --> 00:17:22.798
leagues and all that,

00:17:22.838 --> 00:17:24.460
but from a media point of

00:17:24.500 --> 00:17:26.560
view and a competition point of view,

00:17:26.580 --> 00:17:28.182
you'd think they would be

00:17:28.281 --> 00:17:30.102
latching on to this and the

00:17:30.142 --> 00:17:31.403
club would be latching on to this.

00:17:31.423 --> 00:17:32.282
There's something to spur

00:17:32.323 --> 00:17:35.345
the imagination to get people's edge up,

00:17:35.384 --> 00:17:37.404
but I think they've just

00:17:37.424 --> 00:17:38.365
taken their eye off the ball.

00:17:38.887 --> 00:17:39.807
There's leagues around

00:17:39.928 --> 00:17:41.449
Europe are actually talking

00:17:41.489 --> 00:17:44.250
to us and the SWPL and

00:17:44.431 --> 00:17:45.891
asking them about this

00:17:45.931 --> 00:17:46.912
because they can see it,

00:17:47.011 --> 00:17:48.712
that every year it's so

00:17:48.752 --> 00:17:51.513
exciting because of how the split works.

00:17:53.335 --> 00:17:54.734
The split with the men's game, you know,

00:17:54.775 --> 00:17:55.675
you're still going to have

00:17:55.935 --> 00:17:57.977
Celtic are going to be there, you know,

00:17:58.136 --> 00:17:59.217
Sevco in the background.

00:17:59.657 --> 00:18:00.698
You're not really going to

00:18:00.738 --> 00:18:02.519
get where we are yet.

00:18:03.020 --> 00:18:04.541
you know, we should be winning the league.

00:18:04.582 --> 00:18:06.683
But with a women's game,

00:18:06.703 --> 00:18:07.944
it is really exciting

00:18:07.964 --> 00:18:09.346
because you've got people that are all,

00:18:09.685 --> 00:18:11.126
yeah, some teams have got more money,

00:18:11.166 --> 00:18:12.627
but you've got four or five

00:18:12.667 --> 00:18:14.369
teams that are very competitive.

00:18:14.950 --> 00:18:15.470
And it just,

00:18:15.589 --> 00:18:17.251
it's so exciting going to

00:18:17.271 --> 00:18:18.172
these games because it

00:18:18.231 --> 00:18:19.373
changes every week.

00:18:19.814 --> 00:18:20.794
I mean, at one point,

00:18:21.295 --> 00:18:22.496
we had about six games to go.

00:18:22.516 --> 00:18:24.817
I think all four teams were

00:18:24.856 --> 00:18:25.718
on the same points.

00:18:26.117 --> 00:18:26.979
It was mental.

00:18:27.578 --> 00:18:28.240
Great stuff.

00:18:29.000 --> 00:18:30.461
But that's what we should be selling.

00:18:30.481 --> 00:18:30.701
Sorry, Ralph.

00:18:34.262 --> 00:18:36.749
It's just a typical assault

00:18:36.788 --> 00:18:38.413
to neglect something once

00:18:38.472 --> 00:18:40.458
it got it to a certain level.

00:18:40.930 --> 00:18:42.490
But a hundred percent agree, Dave,

00:18:42.611 --> 00:18:43.810
women's football is much

00:18:43.851 --> 00:18:45.832
more competitive than men's

00:18:45.852 --> 00:18:47.413
football because it's still

00:18:47.452 --> 00:18:49.192
at the stage where the players,

00:18:49.554 --> 00:18:50.594
they're not millionaires.

00:18:50.834 --> 00:18:51.775
They actually want to play

00:18:51.795 --> 00:18:53.654
football and they want to win things.

00:18:54.355 --> 00:18:55.836
I have a pal that used to

00:18:55.875 --> 00:18:57.457
play for England and she

00:18:57.497 --> 00:18:59.137
went away over to America.

00:18:59.637 --> 00:19:01.199
And she says to me, if you get a chance,

00:19:01.239 --> 00:19:03.179
just watch a game because it's brutal.

00:19:03.579 --> 00:19:03.779
You know,

00:19:03.799 --> 00:19:06.800
when you're actually stood at the side.

00:19:07.421 --> 00:19:08.981
And I was over at Loughborough

00:19:09.801 --> 00:19:12.123
and I kind of I think it was

00:19:12.303 --> 00:19:14.022
a caledonian uni were

00:19:14.063 --> 00:19:16.304
playing the local team and

00:19:16.344 --> 00:19:17.703
as soon as the referee blew

00:19:17.743 --> 00:19:19.305
the whistle it would

00:19:19.365 --> 00:19:20.404
everybody wanted the ball

00:19:20.444 --> 00:19:23.486
and it was just I would say

00:19:23.526 --> 00:19:24.766
refreshing but kind of

00:19:24.806 --> 00:19:26.227
frightening as well and

00:19:26.247 --> 00:19:27.446
that's kind of been lost in

00:19:27.467 --> 00:19:28.646
the in the men's game a wee

00:19:28.666 --> 00:19:30.647
bit because of your injury

00:19:30.688 --> 00:19:32.248
and all that kind of thing

00:19:32.327 --> 00:19:32.909
can I just can I just say

00:19:32.929 --> 00:19:34.108
just just just one thing

00:19:34.128 --> 00:19:35.108
and I've heard a few people

00:19:35.128 --> 00:19:35.828
we're all online and

00:19:35.848 --> 00:19:36.710
everything right you always

00:19:36.730 --> 00:19:37.509
get a wee group of them

00:19:38.393 --> 00:19:39.574
Ah, it's women's football.

00:19:40.255 --> 00:19:41.635
Oh, it's the Celtic women's team.

00:19:42.036 --> 00:19:43.017
What's that got to do with

00:19:43.237 --> 00:19:45.019
the men's team and all that kind of stuff,

00:19:45.038 --> 00:19:45.259
right?

00:19:45.318 --> 00:19:46.539
And everybody's entitled to their opinion.

00:19:46.579 --> 00:19:47.601
I get it, right?

00:19:47.641 --> 00:19:48.642
The only thing for me I

00:19:48.662 --> 00:19:52.045
would say to that is the

00:19:52.085 --> 00:19:53.806
women's game in Scotland,

00:19:54.145 --> 00:19:54.967
the men's game's had about

00:19:54.987 --> 00:19:55.728
a hundred and twenty,

00:19:55.768 --> 00:19:56.949
a hundred and thirty year start.

00:19:57.429 --> 00:19:59.069
wasn't it right and it's

00:19:59.109 --> 00:20:00.711
took the men's game so long

00:20:00.771 --> 00:20:01.951
to get to where it's got to

00:20:02.333 --> 00:20:03.433
we've got half the

00:20:03.473 --> 00:20:05.234
population here that were

00:20:05.275 --> 00:20:06.536
pretty much excluded for

00:20:06.556 --> 00:20:08.636
football up until very very

00:20:08.656 --> 00:20:09.518
recently in terms of

00:20:09.557 --> 00:20:10.659
playing the game that is

00:20:10.699 --> 00:20:12.460
right yeah so the least the

00:20:12.539 --> 00:20:15.461
least that Celtic and any

00:20:15.481 --> 00:20:16.262
other professional club

00:20:16.282 --> 00:20:17.864
should do is give initially

00:20:17.923 --> 00:20:20.826
a helping hand helping hand we're loaded

00:20:21.747 --> 00:20:23.769
right to give a couple of

00:20:23.788 --> 00:20:24.729
million pound two three

00:20:24.749 --> 00:20:26.351
million pound a year to get

00:20:26.371 --> 00:20:27.491
the women's team momentum

00:20:27.872 --> 00:20:28.952
over the next five ten

00:20:28.972 --> 00:20:30.173
years then off it would go

00:20:30.453 --> 00:20:32.095
it'd fly after that but as

00:20:32.236 --> 00:20:33.477
usual it's the penny

00:20:33.517 --> 00:20:34.917
pinching not quite sure

00:20:34.958 --> 00:20:36.538
what to do a wee bit of

00:20:36.578 --> 00:20:38.059
help here and there tick a

00:20:38.079 --> 00:20:39.942
couple of boxes mainly uefa

00:20:39.981 --> 00:20:40.923
boxes no doubt that we've

00:20:40.942 --> 00:20:42.002
got a women's professional

00:20:42.042 --> 00:20:43.805
team usual nonsense rather

00:20:43.825 --> 00:20:44.806
than think strategically

00:20:45.086 --> 00:20:46.287
and think about the

00:20:46.307 --> 00:20:47.127
importance of the club as a

00:20:47.147 --> 00:20:49.568
whole you know it's half the population

00:20:50.309 --> 00:20:51.711
Give it as much backing as you can.

00:20:51.770 --> 00:20:52.912
And more importantly, it's Celtic.

00:20:52.932 --> 00:20:54.913
It's Celtic.

00:20:54.933 --> 00:20:56.515
To be fair, to be fair,

00:20:56.595 --> 00:20:58.656
Ralph had been campaigning

00:20:58.696 --> 00:21:00.519
for a Celtic Park

00:21:01.019 --> 00:21:03.740
hospitality factor for about a year,

00:21:03.780 --> 00:21:04.521
maybe, Ralph,

00:21:04.561 --> 00:21:05.863
and it's maybe been

00:21:05.903 --> 00:21:07.664
implemented in the last eight months.

00:21:07.684 --> 00:21:09.645
So maybe in fifteen years

00:21:09.665 --> 00:21:11.127
there might be an

00:21:11.528 --> 00:21:12.689
investment the women's team

00:21:12.749 --> 00:21:13.589
actually deserves.

00:21:13.990 --> 00:21:15.090
Right, Ralph, what about you?

00:21:15.171 --> 00:21:17.373
Season overall, any thoughts,

00:21:17.452 --> 00:21:18.653
anything that springs to mind?

00:21:22.780 --> 00:21:24.182
And it's still kind of disappointing.

00:21:24.582 --> 00:21:26.242
I think we should have and

00:21:26.282 --> 00:21:27.243
could have done a wee bit

00:21:27.284 --> 00:21:28.044
better in Europe.

00:21:30.405 --> 00:21:32.626
We seemed to set a target of qualifying.

00:21:33.528 --> 00:21:35.568
And after that, nothing mattered.

00:21:36.288 --> 00:21:38.530
When we got to the... We

00:21:38.570 --> 00:21:39.550
kind of got qualified.

00:21:39.611 --> 00:21:40.451
We'd got the game left

00:21:40.491 --> 00:21:41.492
against Aston Villa.

00:21:42.272 --> 00:21:45.015
And it was just a sort of turn up.

00:21:45.075 --> 00:21:46.895
And then Hirahashi went away.

00:21:47.656 --> 00:21:49.057
And when we came to play Bayern...

00:21:50.478 --> 00:21:51.878
It felt to me like we were

00:21:51.939 --> 00:21:54.398
playing for extra time in the second leg.

00:21:55.000 --> 00:21:56.920
It felt like we'd done enough,

00:21:57.000 --> 00:21:58.601
but anything else in the bonus,

00:21:59.080 --> 00:22:00.401
don't embarrass ourselves.

00:22:01.280 --> 00:22:02.481
And looking at what happened

00:22:02.501 --> 00:22:04.362
last night with Postacoglu

00:22:04.402 --> 00:22:06.323
winning the Europa League,

00:22:07.742 --> 00:22:08.943
if we could get a kind of...

00:22:10.415 --> 00:22:11.896
A mix of the two managers

00:22:12.356 --> 00:22:13.238
were a wee bit better in

00:22:13.278 --> 00:22:16.700
defence and the adventurism

00:22:16.740 --> 00:22:17.579
of Postacoglu.

00:22:18.059 --> 00:22:19.240
And I think we did get

00:22:19.401 --> 00:22:20.781
further in the Champions League.

00:22:21.741 --> 00:22:23.502
You had the Haakon scoring

00:22:23.563 --> 00:22:25.223
over in Munich and then the

00:22:25.443 --> 00:22:27.965
absolute inevitability of

00:22:28.086 --> 00:22:31.448
Carter Vickers doing what he does and...

00:22:32.488 --> 00:22:33.808
negating all the good work

00:22:33.848 --> 00:22:35.109
done by the rest of the defence.

00:22:35.871 --> 00:22:37.551
And, of course, we signed Jeremy Shloop,

00:22:37.571 --> 00:22:38.571
or whatever his name is,

00:22:39.032 --> 00:22:40.453
and it was just like... Did

00:22:40.493 --> 00:22:43.096
Geoffrey Shloop attack?

00:22:45.257 --> 00:22:46.498
Geoffrey Shloop just got an

00:22:46.518 --> 00:22:47.898
FA Cup medal for playing

00:22:47.919 --> 00:22:49.619
for the first round of the FA Cup,

00:22:49.759 --> 00:22:50.560
I think it was.

00:22:50.780 --> 00:22:53.323
So that guy's a super hero.

00:22:53.383 --> 00:22:54.703
Where did you get that from?

00:22:54.784 --> 00:22:55.983
If you're not playing in the final,

00:22:56.003 --> 00:22:56.785
you don't get a medal.

00:22:57.005 --> 00:22:58.546
If you're James Forrest...

00:22:59.906 --> 00:23:01.490
Hasn't got a full set of the

00:23:01.529 --> 00:23:02.952
four tribbles because he

00:23:02.992 --> 00:23:04.075
never played in one game.

00:23:04.776 --> 00:23:05.998
And England's a part of the squad.

00:23:06.038 --> 00:23:06.960
Did you see the Europa

00:23:06.980 --> 00:23:08.563
League last night ran out of medals?

00:23:09.291 --> 00:23:10.313
By the time it came to the

00:23:10.353 --> 00:23:11.472
last four players,

00:23:11.692 --> 00:23:12.693
someone's looking at him,

00:23:13.153 --> 00:23:15.174
which is named Solanke up front.

00:23:15.255 --> 00:23:16.655
He's looking about for his medal.

00:23:16.915 --> 00:23:18.497
The guy's looking at an empty tray.

00:23:18.797 --> 00:23:20.018
I think they had five people.

00:23:20.178 --> 00:23:21.659
Five people with goalkeeper totes on.

00:23:21.679 --> 00:23:22.439
And by the way,

00:23:23.759 --> 00:23:25.101
Bayern Munich are light

00:23:25.121 --> 00:23:26.622
years ahead of Man U or Spurs.

00:23:27.142 --> 00:23:28.563
Aston Villa are light years

00:23:28.583 --> 00:23:29.643
ahead of Man U or Spurs.

00:23:29.663 --> 00:23:30.983
So there's no comparison.

00:23:32.604 --> 00:23:33.744
Which one's actually got a

00:23:33.825 --> 00:23:35.025
European trophy this year?

00:23:35.345 --> 00:23:36.586
Don't tell me you wouldn't

00:23:36.625 --> 00:23:37.945
have accepted that last night.

00:23:37.965 --> 00:23:38.926
I'll be in the Champions

00:23:38.967 --> 00:23:40.346
League every time.

00:23:40.366 --> 00:23:44.087
Maybe I'll be a bit of a devil's advocate.

00:23:44.167 --> 00:23:48.329
I can agree with you to an extent there,

00:23:48.390 --> 00:23:48.650
Ralph.

00:23:48.730 --> 00:23:51.171
I was a wee bit disappointed

00:23:51.931 --> 00:23:52.490
in Europe too.

00:23:52.530 --> 00:23:55.172
The thing gets me is

00:23:56.451 --> 00:23:57.573
Karen touched on the whole

00:23:57.613 --> 00:24:00.057
strategy and moving on

00:24:00.097 --> 00:24:02.282
progress and stepping stones, that idea.

00:24:03.233 --> 00:24:04.294
Are we really progressing

00:24:04.354 --> 00:24:05.214
that much in Europe?

00:24:05.414 --> 00:24:06.954
Or is it always just a case of,

00:24:07.335 --> 00:24:08.955
let's see what happens next year.

00:24:08.976 --> 00:24:10.096
Let's see what happens next year.

00:24:10.155 --> 00:24:11.496
Rather than, right,

00:24:11.596 --> 00:24:13.336
we've got a few more people.

00:24:13.396 --> 00:24:14.317
I'm disputing the question.

00:24:14.576 --> 00:24:15.277
A few more people.

00:24:15.297 --> 00:24:17.438
No, that's your opinion.

00:24:17.458 --> 00:24:18.357
That's what you're thinking.

00:24:18.397 --> 00:24:18.758
No, I'm right.

00:24:18.778 --> 00:24:19.137
I gave it a bit.

00:24:19.157 --> 00:24:20.117
Don't sit on the fence.

00:24:20.137 --> 00:24:21.298
I'm putting it out there.

00:24:21.338 --> 00:24:22.058
That's what you think.

00:24:22.078 --> 00:24:24.640
No, because I was about to say.

00:24:24.660 --> 00:24:24.940
No, you don't.

00:24:24.960 --> 00:24:25.779
I was about to say that

00:24:25.799 --> 00:24:27.660
we've got a few more guys experienced.

00:24:28.000 --> 00:24:29.580
So that will bed us in for next year.

00:24:30.080 --> 00:24:31.280
But classic Celtic,

00:24:31.580 --> 00:24:33.321
see the younger guys you've

00:24:33.342 --> 00:24:34.082
got experience,

00:24:34.321 --> 00:24:35.182
they're the exact guys

00:24:35.202 --> 00:24:36.163
we're going to sell in the

00:24:36.202 --> 00:24:38.083
summer for another twenty million.

00:24:38.542 --> 00:24:40.263
And then we're back to square one again.

00:24:40.483 --> 00:24:42.625
Karen, Waldorf and Stattler and Waldorf,

00:24:42.684 --> 00:24:44.484
two guys sitting in your Celtic park,

00:24:44.545 --> 00:24:45.184
you dread.

00:24:45.545 --> 00:24:47.346
At least you put me in your sector,

00:24:47.445 --> 00:24:50.987
I'll tell you that.

00:24:51.247 --> 00:24:52.948
Karen, you're sitting in for Monty tonight,

00:24:53.028 --> 00:24:54.248
Monty usually backs him up.

00:24:56.648 --> 00:25:01.990
Before I go to anything else, Hector,

00:25:02.090 --> 00:25:03.651
before I forget,

00:25:03.691 --> 00:25:06.771
we were talking about Celtic in Europe.

00:25:07.211 --> 00:25:08.553
The best performance by a

00:25:08.633 --> 00:25:09.712
Celtic in Europe has

00:25:09.932 --> 00:25:12.374
arguably been your pictures

00:25:12.473 --> 00:25:13.855
from your recent holiday.

00:25:13.894 --> 00:25:15.194
Would you like to tell the

00:25:15.234 --> 00:25:16.355
four listeners where you

00:25:16.395 --> 00:25:17.536
were on holiday recently?

00:25:18.317 --> 00:25:19.096
It was really nice.

00:25:19.116 --> 00:25:22.079
We booked last year, my wife and I,

00:25:22.220 --> 00:25:23.260
and we went away to Lisbon

00:25:23.641 --> 00:25:24.461
for a few nights.

00:25:25.803 --> 00:25:28.125
It was only two weeks or so ago.

00:25:28.786 --> 00:25:29.307
And obviously it was,

00:25:29.326 --> 00:25:31.588
you would say just before

00:25:31.608 --> 00:25:32.429
you started recording it,

00:25:32.549 --> 00:25:33.170
it really was the

00:25:33.210 --> 00:25:33.951
pilgrimage because there's

00:25:33.971 --> 00:25:34.811
that many fans doing it.

00:25:34.852 --> 00:25:36.032
More so because there's

00:25:36.093 --> 00:25:36.833
going to be some stadium

00:25:36.853 --> 00:25:39.076
redevelopment taking place soon on it.

00:25:39.836 --> 00:25:41.218
and they've got the funding,

00:25:41.298 --> 00:25:42.640
I think they've got thirty million euros.

00:25:43.901 --> 00:25:44.981
But the good news is the

00:25:45.082 --> 00:25:46.003
redevelopment isn't going

00:25:46.023 --> 00:25:46.984
to be ripping it all down.

00:25:47.005 --> 00:25:47.965
It will just be like a new

00:25:48.006 --> 00:25:49.186
roof and some new seats and that.

00:25:49.207 --> 00:25:50.209
So it's broadly going to

00:25:50.229 --> 00:25:51.769
look how it has looked.

00:25:52.431 --> 00:25:55.474
So we went there and it was interesting.

00:25:56.915 --> 00:25:57.616
we were talking about it as

00:25:57.656 --> 00:25:59.217
you do at night time but

00:25:59.237 --> 00:26:00.137
we've enjoyed the holiday

00:26:00.178 --> 00:26:01.438
once we're over there there

00:26:01.458 --> 00:26:03.098
for five nights and my wife

00:26:03.118 --> 00:26:04.420
being my wife she went her

00:26:04.440 --> 00:26:06.400
highlight was was watching

00:26:06.461 --> 00:26:07.980
me when we went to the

00:26:08.020 --> 00:26:10.501
stadio national right and I

00:26:10.521 --> 00:26:11.623
mean what do you mean she

00:26:11.643 --> 00:26:13.644
goes you were like a wee boy again

00:26:14.423 --> 00:26:15.163
And it was interesting.

00:26:15.203 --> 00:26:16.944
So we go there, just to put it in context,

00:26:17.486 --> 00:26:18.205
they've changed it from

00:26:18.226 --> 00:26:19.788
Monday to Friday now

00:26:19.807 --> 00:26:20.888
between nine and twelve.

00:26:21.628 --> 00:26:22.089
And lucky enough,

00:26:22.109 --> 00:26:24.391
we booked Thursday to the Tuesday.

00:26:24.491 --> 00:26:25.471
So we covered the Friday and

00:26:25.491 --> 00:26:26.413
Monday just in case.

00:26:27.153 --> 00:26:28.295
But a lot of fans would go on a Friday.

00:26:28.315 --> 00:26:29.055
The flight doesn't get there

00:26:29.075 --> 00:26:30.016
till late on Friday morning.

00:26:30.056 --> 00:26:31.837
So you won't get in in many cases.

00:26:32.077 --> 00:26:33.159
So we thought, oh, they're nice and sharp,

00:26:33.179 --> 00:26:33.980
nine o'clock in the morning.

00:26:35.119 --> 00:26:36.260
and then pretty much she had

00:26:36.280 --> 00:26:37.381
the place to herself we

00:26:37.421 --> 00:26:38.161
couldn't go on the pitch

00:26:38.541 --> 00:26:39.281
couldn't go to where Billy

00:26:39.321 --> 00:26:40.622
left the trophy but where

00:26:40.642 --> 00:26:41.823
the tunnel was with the

00:26:41.863 --> 00:26:43.604
changing rooms where this

00:26:43.624 --> 00:26:44.483
whole side of the pitch we

00:26:44.503 --> 00:26:45.304
could go there but it was

00:26:45.324 --> 00:26:46.164
just interesting she said

00:26:46.625 --> 00:26:47.785
you became a wee boy again

00:26:48.306 --> 00:26:49.125
and it was just like you're

00:26:49.145 --> 00:26:51.086
transfixed you just you

00:26:51.106 --> 00:26:52.086
know you go to the tunnel

00:26:52.207 --> 00:26:53.407
where Betty started singing

00:26:53.428 --> 00:26:54.708
the Celtic song you'd you

00:26:54.728 --> 00:26:55.488
can visualize all the

00:26:55.508 --> 00:26:57.108
players there and then

00:26:57.128 --> 00:26:58.509
you're out on the same side

00:26:58.569 --> 00:26:59.710
of the pitch just off it

00:26:59.910 --> 00:27:01.371
where the the dugout not

00:27:01.391 --> 00:27:02.211
the dugout where the bench

00:27:02.250 --> 00:27:03.852
was where Jock and all the players were

00:27:04.881 --> 00:27:05.580
And it's amazing.

00:27:07.442 --> 00:27:09.082
It's almost like you do,

00:27:09.362 --> 00:27:10.542
you step back in time and

00:27:10.563 --> 00:27:11.363
you think of your own

00:27:11.682 --> 00:27:13.384
parents or family that's now here.

00:27:13.804 --> 00:27:15.624
So it's quite an emotional

00:27:15.644 --> 00:27:18.045
thing and a fabulous thing.

00:27:18.085 --> 00:27:19.986
And if Andy's not done it yet,

00:27:20.874 --> 00:27:22.315
I would just say do it and

00:27:22.335 --> 00:27:23.474
what we did just to add to

00:27:23.494 --> 00:27:24.476
it a wee bit you know

00:27:24.576 --> 00:27:25.797
technology time moves on

00:27:25.836 --> 00:27:26.936
and folk get taxis and that

00:27:27.538 --> 00:27:28.438
I said to myself I'd like

00:27:28.478 --> 00:27:29.199
to do it the way the

00:27:29.519 --> 00:27:30.358
hospital did it way back

00:27:30.398 --> 00:27:30.999
then when they were in

00:27:31.019 --> 00:27:32.279
Lisbon you get the train

00:27:32.880 --> 00:27:33.921
and the train down at the

00:27:33.941 --> 00:27:36.082
river it's six stops to the

00:27:36.102 --> 00:27:37.143
wee town where the Stadion

00:27:37.182 --> 00:27:38.663
National is and we get out

00:27:38.683 --> 00:27:41.164
of the train and the train it's like ah

00:27:43.069 --> 00:27:43.930
as if it's not a lick of

00:27:43.970 --> 00:27:44.970
paint in about eight a year

00:27:45.391 --> 00:27:47.070
which I thought was perfect

00:27:48.290 --> 00:27:49.991
it was perfect you didn't

00:27:50.031 --> 00:27:51.711
want a modern you wanted it

00:27:51.832 --> 00:27:53.211
to kind of be how it was

00:27:53.231 --> 00:27:54.653
and you get out it was run

00:27:54.692 --> 00:27:55.873
down although weirdly

00:27:55.893 --> 00:27:56.452
enough there was a wee

00:27:56.492 --> 00:27:58.712
beach right behind it but

00:27:58.752 --> 00:28:00.294
you walk up the avenue and

00:28:00.314 --> 00:28:02.034
it was like almost doing it

00:28:02.094 --> 00:28:04.795
the way people did then and

00:28:04.815 --> 00:28:06.654
they as I say I would just

00:28:07.454 --> 00:28:08.955
highly recommend it just go

00:28:08.976 --> 00:28:10.096
and live it and you know

00:28:11.323 --> 00:28:12.143
Amazing.

00:28:12.182 --> 00:28:12.544
Wonderful.

00:28:15.605 --> 00:28:15.944
Very good.

00:28:16.045 --> 00:28:19.047
Ralph or Karen, have you done it?

00:28:19.067 --> 00:28:21.688
That was over in Lisbon in

00:28:21.728 --> 00:28:23.387
the year when we played

00:28:23.428 --> 00:28:25.670
Benfica and obviously it

00:28:25.690 --> 00:28:26.369
was the fortieth

00:28:26.410 --> 00:28:29.250
anniversary and I have to

00:28:29.270 --> 00:28:29.911
agree with Hector,

00:28:29.931 --> 00:28:30.932
you do feel like a wee boy

00:28:32.173 --> 00:28:33.153
We came off the plane at the

00:28:33.233 --> 00:28:35.155
airport and the lions were there.

00:28:36.057 --> 00:28:37.077
And I went over,

00:28:37.178 --> 00:28:38.398
I get pushed over to ask

00:28:38.598 --> 00:28:39.339
what time they were going

00:28:39.359 --> 00:28:40.140
down to the ground.

00:28:41.000 --> 00:28:45.464
And I spoke to Bertie Auld and he says,

00:28:45.525 --> 00:28:46.365
I've got no idea.

00:28:46.885 --> 00:28:48.227
And then he shouts, oh, Billy,

00:28:48.346 --> 00:28:49.347
what time are we doing it?

00:28:49.488 --> 00:28:50.388
And all of a sudden I'm

00:28:50.429 --> 00:28:51.190
there with all of them.

00:28:52.471 --> 00:28:53.932
And honestly, I felt five year old.

00:28:54.492 --> 00:28:56.074
When we went to the park

00:28:56.094 --> 00:28:56.835
where the ground is,

00:28:58.612 --> 00:29:00.393
one of the rogues that was

00:29:00.452 --> 00:29:02.095
with us had got a load of

00:29:02.335 --> 00:29:04.876
Euros that weren't quite real.

00:29:05.917 --> 00:29:08.140
And there were guys selling cases of beer.

00:29:08.180 --> 00:29:08.921
Allegedly,

00:29:09.882 --> 00:29:12.144
for the sake of any legal people

00:29:12.183 --> 00:29:14.184
listening, allegedly, carry on.

00:29:16.401 --> 00:29:17.840
So what you did, you used,

00:29:18.501 --> 00:29:19.843
I was told that you could

00:29:20.002 --> 00:29:21.263
use the fake euros to buy

00:29:21.284 --> 00:29:22.904
beer and they would give you change.

00:29:23.345 --> 00:29:25.526
So where did Billy get the trophy?

00:29:25.925 --> 00:29:27.227
We sat up there drinking,

00:29:27.948 --> 00:29:28.567
actually I think it was

00:29:28.587 --> 00:29:29.808
like Corona stuff.

00:29:30.930 --> 00:29:32.891
And it was a fantastic day.

00:29:33.171 --> 00:29:35.432
But the thing that kind of

00:29:35.451 --> 00:29:36.472
occurred to me later was

00:29:36.673 --> 00:29:37.973
everybody that was there

00:29:37.993 --> 00:29:39.394
was trying to recreate the goal.

00:29:40.810 --> 00:29:42.432
And after about half an hour,

00:29:42.471 --> 00:29:43.373
we realised they were

00:29:43.393 --> 00:29:44.394
shooting on the wrong end.

00:29:45.634 --> 00:29:46.556
Is this the end of Milango?

00:29:46.576 --> 00:29:47.076
Just to be clear.

00:29:47.096 --> 00:29:47.155
No.

00:29:47.175 --> 00:29:48.196
No, they're still at the same end as us,

00:29:48.217 --> 00:29:48.837
aren't they?

00:29:51.420 --> 00:29:51.619
Yeah,

00:29:51.880 --> 00:29:54.823
but as you're sat up there watching it,

00:29:55.830 --> 00:29:57.031
They were all doing the other end,

00:29:57.392 --> 00:29:58.152
recreating it,

00:29:58.632 --> 00:29:59.413
and running around and

00:29:59.472 --> 00:30:02.213
doing their wee celebrations.

00:30:02.534 --> 00:30:03.375
And it was only after we

00:30:03.414 --> 00:30:04.515
realised that the cameras

00:30:04.576 --> 00:30:05.736
were in a different place.

00:30:07.876 --> 00:30:10.378
And I didn't feel confident

00:30:10.419 --> 00:30:11.419
enough to go onto the pitch

00:30:11.439 --> 00:30:13.500
in case one of the local teams signed me.

00:30:13.940 --> 00:30:15.201
So I just left it to everybody else.

00:30:15.221 --> 00:30:16.662
All right, locals on down, maybe.

00:30:16.682 --> 00:30:17.102
What about you, Cam?

00:30:17.162 --> 00:30:20.763
Yeah, my visit was a bit of a nightmare.

00:30:20.983 --> 00:30:22.005
Sorry, Hector.

00:30:22.025 --> 00:30:25.127
Yeah, it was quite that.

00:30:25.387 --> 00:30:26.489
I think it was,

00:30:26.709 --> 00:30:29.090
I went over twice and we

00:30:29.111 --> 00:30:30.653
got beat by Penfica three

00:30:30.673 --> 00:30:31.814
nil in a one nil game.

00:30:32.394 --> 00:30:33.575
Can't remember what one it was,

00:30:33.615 --> 00:30:36.076
but I went over and I've

00:30:36.137 --> 00:30:38.078
obviously no idea where I was going.

00:30:38.138 --> 00:30:39.921
So it was the gate swirled a

00:30:39.961 --> 00:30:41.823
lot and it was the opposite

00:30:41.843 --> 00:30:43.443
side from where Billy picked up the cup.

00:30:43.463 --> 00:30:44.785
I didn't realise you could do that.

00:30:44.805 --> 00:30:45.066
Yeah, yeah.

00:30:46.663 --> 00:30:48.183
and get in and wee gab would

00:30:48.223 --> 00:30:49.384
let you in I didn't realise

00:30:49.404 --> 00:30:50.565
so I just like took some

00:30:50.585 --> 00:30:51.605
photos through the gates

00:30:52.184 --> 00:30:53.305
and that was my experience

00:30:53.384 --> 00:30:54.285
and then of course when I

00:30:54.305 --> 00:30:55.746
came back people said no

00:30:55.766 --> 00:30:57.006
you should have done that

00:30:57.385 --> 00:30:59.365
yeah so yeah it was a bit

00:30:59.465 --> 00:31:00.705
of a nightmare so it is on

00:31:00.727 --> 00:31:01.807
my bucket list to go back

00:31:01.826 --> 00:31:02.886
and do it definitely see

00:31:02.926 --> 00:31:03.906
Karen's thing there for

00:31:03.926 --> 00:31:05.106
those who aren't there when

00:31:05.126 --> 00:31:06.567
you walk up to it the one

00:31:06.607 --> 00:31:08.327
hole side's open so see if

00:31:08.607 --> 00:31:10.647
you're outside it you see

00:31:10.667 --> 00:31:11.528
the picture and everything

00:31:11.587 --> 00:31:12.749
one hole side's open right

00:31:13.088 --> 00:31:14.469
but see if you walk past that gate

00:31:14.888 --> 00:31:15.729
There's like a wee,

00:31:16.288 --> 00:31:17.128
the changing rooms are

00:31:17.249 --> 00:31:18.269
there and it's no change,

00:31:18.289 --> 00:31:19.309
it's like old art decor,

00:31:19.509 --> 00:31:20.869
it's honestly old art decor

00:31:20.890 --> 00:31:21.529
changing rooms.

00:31:22.069 --> 00:31:23.871
Just a wee twenty,

00:31:23.891 --> 00:31:25.391
thirty metre space and it's

00:31:25.411 --> 00:31:26.691
an open space to the tunnel

00:31:27.111 --> 00:31:28.011
and that's round the corner,

00:31:28.092 --> 00:31:29.211
literally twenty metres,

00:31:29.231 --> 00:31:30.432
thirty metres round the corner from it.

00:31:31.912 --> 00:31:33.673
Yeah.

00:31:33.712 --> 00:31:34.113
But yeah,

00:31:34.232 --> 00:31:35.292
that's definitely on the bucket

00:31:35.313 --> 00:31:36.913
list to go back and do it.

00:31:36.972 --> 00:31:38.634
Because Lisbon's a beautiful city as well,

00:31:38.854 --> 00:31:40.894
really gorgeous.

00:31:41.173 --> 00:31:42.815
If you don't count the cobbled pavements,

00:31:43.295 --> 00:31:44.474
because I get four and a half.

00:31:46.051 --> 00:31:50.775
Before we come back to the season,

00:31:50.855 --> 00:31:52.655
I've got a wee season's quiz.

00:31:52.715 --> 00:31:53.895
I've got a wee quiz.

00:31:53.936 --> 00:31:55.136
So Karen, as a guest,

00:31:55.857 --> 00:31:57.898
I'll let you pick your first number.

00:31:58.538 --> 00:31:59.339
What number would you like

00:31:59.359 --> 00:32:00.520
between one and six?

00:32:00.560 --> 00:32:01.441
Two questions each.

00:32:01.921 --> 00:32:03.382
What number would you like

00:32:03.402 --> 00:32:04.343
between one and six?

00:32:04.942 --> 00:32:06.564
I'll go for number three.

00:32:07.464 --> 00:32:08.164
Number three.

00:32:08.345 --> 00:32:09.006
Which team...

00:32:09.962 --> 00:32:13.183
This season, have we beaten six-nil,

00:32:13.503 --> 00:32:15.305
five-nil and four-nil?

00:32:15.325 --> 00:32:20.547
Oh, God.

00:32:20.586 --> 00:32:21.547
Hector's trying to steal a

00:32:21.606 --> 00:32:22.287
point there quickly.

00:32:22.307 --> 00:32:22.547
Aberdeen?

00:32:25.288 --> 00:32:27.068
Would you like to guess again?

00:32:27.088 --> 00:32:35.192
Six-nil, five-nil and four-nil.

00:32:35.211 --> 00:32:35.531
Dundee United?

00:32:35.551 --> 00:32:35.811
No, I'm sorry.

00:32:35.832 --> 00:32:36.751
I can put it open for an

00:32:36.791 --> 00:32:37.653
extra bonus point.

00:32:37.712 --> 00:32:38.692
Anybody like to jump in?

00:32:40.982 --> 00:32:43.965
No, I was going to say Aberdeen.

00:32:43.986 --> 00:32:44.026
No.

00:32:44.046 --> 00:32:44.506
Does it hurt?

00:32:44.526 --> 00:32:45.547
No, it's St.

00:32:45.567 --> 00:32:45.747
Johnson.

00:32:45.767 --> 00:32:45.826
St.

00:32:45.846 --> 00:32:46.708
Johnson this year.

00:32:46.807 --> 00:32:49.390
So, Ralph, would you like to go for one,

00:32:49.450 --> 00:32:52.031
two, four, five, six?

00:32:52.152 --> 00:32:52.291
One.

00:32:53.393 --> 00:32:53.772
Okay,

00:32:53.833 --> 00:32:57.056
which championship side did Celtic

00:32:57.096 --> 00:32:58.757
beat six-four in a

00:32:58.817 --> 00:33:00.959
pre-season friendly in July?

00:33:02.079 --> 00:33:03.421
Oh, Karen's right in there.

00:33:05.623 --> 00:33:07.303
You don't do pre-season games,

00:33:07.323 --> 00:33:08.042
that's no fair.

00:33:08.063 --> 00:33:08.263
Yeah,

00:33:08.284 --> 00:33:09.183
we've done a few and they were

00:33:09.203 --> 00:33:10.163
televised this year.

00:33:10.203 --> 00:33:11.384
He's killing time with Google.

00:33:12.743 --> 00:33:15.204
He's like, Alexa,

00:33:15.384 --> 00:33:17.265
which championship side did

00:33:17.325 --> 00:33:21.306
Celtic... Honestly, genuinely,

00:33:21.365 --> 00:33:22.846
I don't know.

00:33:23.205 --> 00:33:24.946
English or Scottish?

00:33:25.386 --> 00:33:27.227
The question's the question.

00:33:27.287 --> 00:33:28.887
Which championship side did

00:33:28.948 --> 00:33:30.827
Celtic beat six for in a friendly?

00:33:33.638 --> 00:33:34.700
Sorry, Karen.

00:33:34.759 --> 00:33:36.520
Well done, Carl.

00:33:36.881 --> 00:33:38.281
Well done, Google.

00:33:39.083 --> 00:33:41.844
Google has seen good again.

00:33:42.525 --> 00:33:43.585
Well done, AI.

00:33:43.846 --> 00:33:44.806
Well done, AI.

00:33:45.006 --> 00:33:46.227
Right, Hector, what do you want?

00:33:46.307 --> 00:33:46.686
Two?

00:33:47.688 --> 00:33:48.327
I'll give you two.

00:33:48.347 --> 00:33:49.209
We'll just give you two, Hector.

00:33:49.469 --> 00:33:50.130
Go for two.

00:33:50.529 --> 00:33:51.651
You like this one, Hector.

00:33:52.171 --> 00:33:54.211
Which Japanese player scored

00:33:54.372 --> 00:33:56.413
our first league goal of the season?

00:33:57.574 --> 00:33:58.355
First league goal?

00:33:59.189 --> 00:34:00.730
I can tell you it was against Kilmarnock,

00:34:00.769 --> 00:34:02.371
who are a Scottish team, Ralph.

00:34:02.391 --> 00:34:09.634
First league goal.

00:34:09.653 --> 00:34:10.313
See, I'm tense.

00:34:10.333 --> 00:34:11.094
See, you start the season.

00:34:11.114 --> 00:34:12.315
That must be the first game of the season,

00:34:12.355 --> 00:34:12.536
right?

00:34:12.755 --> 00:34:13.456
We beat Kilmarnock.

00:34:13.695 --> 00:34:14.175
Was it two-nil?

00:34:14.215 --> 00:34:15.056
I can't remember.

00:34:16.938 --> 00:34:17.518
Was it... Four-nil.

00:34:17.538 --> 00:34:19.099
It was a four-nil victory, I believe.

00:34:19.239 --> 00:34:20.960
There's only three players,

00:34:21.000 --> 00:34:23.360
so... Cool goal.

00:34:23.380 --> 00:34:24.380
OK, anybody open that?

00:34:24.400 --> 00:34:25.661
I'll open up Cairns right in there.

00:34:27.199 --> 00:34:27.661
Rio Hitati.

00:34:27.681 --> 00:34:28.701
Rio Hitati.

00:34:28.740 --> 00:34:29.561
Rio Hitati.

00:34:29.581 --> 00:34:31.282
So is that one each?

00:34:31.362 --> 00:34:32.202
Everybody get a point each?

00:34:32.242 --> 00:34:33.603
No, no, it's one each.

00:34:33.862 --> 00:34:36.284
Ralph, Hector's not got any yet.

00:34:36.945 --> 00:34:38.784
Hector, in the case of fairness,

00:34:38.846 --> 00:34:40.106
I'd like you to pick next then.

00:34:40.445 --> 00:34:41.166
What's the number?

00:34:41.226 --> 00:34:42.666
Four, five or six?

00:34:43.266 --> 00:34:46.148
Five.

00:34:46.369 --> 00:34:47.728
I don't know if you like this one.

00:34:48.610 --> 00:34:50.411
West Defender scored their

00:34:50.451 --> 00:34:52.210
first goal in the European

00:34:52.251 --> 00:34:53.371
campaign this season.

00:34:54.449 --> 00:34:54.989
Oh,

00:34:55.010 --> 00:34:56.251
so we were straight in the Champions

00:34:56.271 --> 00:34:58.492
League, weren't we?

00:34:58.572 --> 00:34:58.992
Oh, wait now.

00:34:59.032 --> 00:35:00.454
It's not your question, it's Hector's.

00:35:01.215 --> 00:35:04.418
We beat the team for Slovakia, weren't it?

00:35:04.438 --> 00:35:05.378
Five-one, we beat them.

00:35:06.320 --> 00:35:07.099
Oh, Scales!

00:35:07.621 --> 00:35:08.641
Oh, he's back!

00:35:08.742 --> 00:35:09.242
He's back!

00:35:09.422 --> 00:35:10.483
Nice, well done now.

00:35:10.503 --> 00:35:11.443
They were waiting to steal,

00:35:11.463 --> 00:35:12.385
they were waiting to steal.

00:35:12.945 --> 00:35:14.606
And then, right, Cam, we'll come to you.

00:35:15.648 --> 00:35:15.728
Uh...

00:35:17.101 --> 00:35:18.882
I'm going to give you question four, Karen,

00:35:18.983 --> 00:35:19.963
and you'll understand why

00:35:19.983 --> 00:35:21.384
when you hear question six, right?

00:35:21.423 --> 00:35:22.583
Because he's a cheat.

00:35:22.983 --> 00:35:23.565
Question four.

00:35:23.585 --> 00:35:24.925
Ralph, you're getting question six.

00:35:25.284 --> 00:35:26.505
Question four, Karen.

00:35:27.365 --> 00:35:29.806
Which four teams did we draw

00:35:29.827 --> 00:35:34.188
with in Europe this season?

00:35:34.208 --> 00:35:34.768
Dinamo Zagreb.

00:35:34.789 --> 00:35:38.030
Correct.

00:35:38.090 --> 00:35:38.831
Bayern Munich.

00:35:39.490 --> 00:35:42.552
Yep.

00:35:42.731 --> 00:35:43.773
Atalanta.

00:35:43.813 --> 00:35:43.992
Yep.

00:35:46.088 --> 00:35:47.128
And Bruce.

00:35:47.688 --> 00:35:48.510
Oh, well done.

00:35:48.610 --> 00:35:48.949
Nice.

00:35:49.010 --> 00:35:49.909
Four out of four there.

00:35:49.929 --> 00:35:50.471
Well done.

00:35:50.530 --> 00:35:51.150
Right, Ralph.

00:35:52.271 --> 00:35:53.373
You've hit a clue.

00:35:53.472 --> 00:35:54.152
I'll warn you now.

00:35:54.273 --> 00:35:55.393
You've already hit a clue.

00:35:55.673 --> 00:35:56.835
This is related to an

00:35:56.934 --> 00:35:58.675
earlier question which I had was,

00:35:59.675 --> 00:36:01.898
which of our two teams have Celtic... So,

00:36:02.197 --> 00:36:03.197
which of our two teams,

00:36:03.237 --> 00:36:04.338
along with St Johnson,

00:36:04.798 --> 00:36:06.579
have Celtic beat six-nil?

00:36:06.940 --> 00:36:09.222
One in the Cup and two in the league.

00:36:09.782 --> 00:36:10.943
So, it's all right.

00:36:10.963 --> 00:36:11.063
So...

00:36:11.431 --> 00:36:12.110
There's two teams.

00:36:12.130 --> 00:36:13.552
We'll beat three teams this season.

00:36:13.911 --> 00:36:14.911
St Johnson's won.

00:36:15.311 --> 00:36:16.411
What are the other two teams

00:36:16.431 --> 00:36:18.833
that say it'll beat six-nil this year?

00:36:19.432 --> 00:36:20.253
Or this season?

00:36:21.032 --> 00:36:21.472
Correct.

00:36:21.592 --> 00:36:22.813
So Karen gave you that one,

00:36:22.853 --> 00:36:23.893
so that's not really a point.

00:36:23.914 --> 00:36:26.835
No, I kind of knew it anyway.

00:36:26.934 --> 00:36:28.614
I'll hand over to Hector as a judge.

00:36:28.635 --> 00:36:30.175
Hector, do we need you, Ralph, that one?

00:36:31.235 --> 00:36:35.016
In the spirit of fairness, no.

00:36:35.137 --> 00:36:35.536
Correct.

00:36:35.556 --> 00:36:36.336
Well done.

00:36:36.356 --> 00:36:37.577
So it's up to you, Ralph.

00:36:37.617 --> 00:36:38.597
What do you think?

00:36:38.938 --> 00:36:40.237
One of our clubs will beat six-nil.

00:36:43.106 --> 00:36:43.626
Ross County?

00:36:44.726 --> 00:36:46.088
Oh, it's open for anyone.

00:36:46.208 --> 00:36:46.588
Dundee?

00:36:47.608 --> 00:36:48.208
Correct.

00:36:48.289 --> 00:36:49.208
Hector's back.

00:36:49.369 --> 00:36:50.829
Hector's back straight in there.

00:36:50.849 --> 00:36:51.710
Dundee it was.

00:36:52.231 --> 00:36:52.751
So there we go.

00:36:52.771 --> 00:36:54.032
That's the first of the night's quiz.

00:36:54.052 --> 00:36:55.032
We do have a Scottish Cup

00:36:55.072 --> 00:36:56.452
quiz to come if we've got time.

00:36:56.853 --> 00:36:58.393
But let's go back to last season.

00:36:58.434 --> 00:36:59.514
Let's go back to this season.

00:37:00.135 --> 00:37:00.855
Right, Karen.

00:37:01.695 --> 00:37:05.257
Favourite goal slash moment of the season?

00:37:05.336 --> 00:37:06.637
Oh, right.

00:37:09.177 --> 00:37:09.777
Favourite goal?

00:37:10.079 --> 00:37:13.541
I'm going to go with Jamesy, right?

00:37:13.581 --> 00:37:16.302
That goal was just absolutely epic.

00:37:20.865 --> 00:37:22.106
I was about to ask what won there.

00:37:22.126 --> 00:37:22.788
Yeah, yeah, very good.

00:37:22.807 --> 00:37:23.588
I was going to go for Dyson.

00:37:23.608 --> 00:37:24.148
I was going to go for Dyson

00:37:24.168 --> 00:37:26.090
in the cup final when he

00:37:26.110 --> 00:37:27.431
made it to one because I

00:37:27.471 --> 00:37:28.512
just thought that was brilliant.

00:37:28.992 --> 00:37:29.552
But that...

00:37:30.452 --> 00:37:31.594
That moment with James is

00:37:31.813 --> 00:37:33.815
the moment you just dream about.

00:37:33.994 --> 00:37:34.835
And that was awesome.

00:37:35.476 --> 00:37:36.695
So he pips it.

00:37:37.016 --> 00:37:37.697
But I'm going to give a

00:37:37.737 --> 00:37:39.057
special shout out to Murphy

00:37:39.097 --> 00:37:40.978
Agnes for scoring Celtic

00:37:41.018 --> 00:37:41.958
women's only goal in the

00:37:41.978 --> 00:37:43.480
Champions League against Chelsea.

00:37:43.579 --> 00:37:45.101
What a moment that was for the club.

00:37:45.300 --> 00:37:45.760
Brilliant.

00:37:46.621 --> 00:37:47.461
James gets it.

00:37:48.702 --> 00:37:49.063
Nice.

00:37:49.083 --> 00:37:50.123
That's a nice shout-out.

00:37:50.143 --> 00:37:50.583
Well done.

00:37:50.664 --> 00:37:51.123
Very good.

00:37:51.923 --> 00:37:52.664
Ralph, what about you?

00:37:52.844 --> 00:37:53.324
Any thoughts?

00:37:53.523 --> 00:37:54.125
Favourite goal?

00:37:54.204 --> 00:37:55.085
In fact, seeing as Ralph,

00:37:55.144 --> 00:37:56.085
we're the curmudgeons,

00:37:56.105 --> 00:37:57.646
you can have favourite goal

00:37:57.706 --> 00:37:59.786
moment or disappointment of the season.

00:37:59.806 --> 00:38:01.166
We've done you a bit.

00:38:01.186 --> 00:38:01.567
What's the goal?

00:38:01.586 --> 00:38:04.847
Favourite miss of the season.

00:38:04.867 --> 00:38:07.307
Right.

00:38:07.367 --> 00:38:07.967
There are three, right?

00:38:08.027 --> 00:38:08.949
I'm going to be greedy.

00:38:09.329 --> 00:38:11.728
James Forrest, he deserves it, right?

00:38:12.710 --> 00:38:13.670
The guy has been...

00:38:15.364 --> 00:38:16.905
friend of the site for a long time.

00:38:18.586 --> 00:38:19.666
He deserves that.

00:38:20.086 --> 00:38:22.047
Everyone he gets, absolutely.

00:38:22.588 --> 00:38:23.228
One club man,

00:38:23.289 --> 00:38:24.429
he turned down a lot of

00:38:24.568 --> 00:38:26.630
offers to leave and

00:38:27.030 --> 00:38:31.112
complete and absolute respect for him.

00:38:31.132 --> 00:38:32.132
The goal that made me jump

00:38:32.152 --> 00:38:34.134
the highest was in Munich.

00:38:36.550 --> 00:38:37.510
without comparison.

00:38:38.371 --> 00:38:41.072
And the goal that made me a

00:38:41.132 --> 00:38:43.273
little disappointed was also in Europe,

00:38:45.155 --> 00:38:46.675
Carter Vickers against Celtic,

00:38:47.195 --> 00:38:49.476
because I still maintain I

00:38:49.876 --> 00:38:51.217
would have been stood there

00:38:51.257 --> 00:38:53.137
with his contract at the

00:38:53.157 --> 00:38:54.699
side of the pitch, ripped it up,

00:38:54.878 --> 00:38:56.219
put him on the bus and sent

00:38:56.260 --> 00:38:57.280
him back to whichever team

00:38:57.300 --> 00:38:58.601
he couldn't get a game from in England.

00:38:59.300 --> 00:39:00.081
before he signed.

00:39:00.121 --> 00:39:01.282
You realise that the city of

00:39:01.322 --> 00:39:02.885
Stoke voted reform, don't you?

00:39:02.905 --> 00:39:06.128
Yeah, yeah.

00:39:06.148 --> 00:39:07.951
And Ralph originally came for the noon,

00:39:07.971 --> 00:39:09.192
that's all we're going to say,

00:39:09.211 --> 00:39:11.135
so the boys must be blessed

00:39:11.155 --> 00:39:12.115
with the best things in life.

00:39:12.135 --> 00:39:13.137
What about you, Hector, then?

00:39:13.157 --> 00:39:15.519
Go last moment of the season.

00:39:16.240 --> 00:39:18.422
Well, the Jamesy one, you've all covered,

00:39:18.483 --> 00:39:18.702
but

00:39:19.623 --> 00:39:21.186
uh within the stadium it was

00:39:21.365 --> 00:39:23.007
it was actually as if it

00:39:23.027 --> 00:39:24.528
was to win the league the

00:39:24.588 --> 00:39:26.150
celebrations when that was

00:39:26.309 --> 00:39:28.512
really the timing was was

00:39:28.572 --> 00:39:29.974
perfect wasn't it so that's

00:39:30.173 --> 00:39:31.355
that's probably is but I

00:39:31.375 --> 00:39:32.835
would say there's a couple

00:39:32.856 --> 00:39:33.516
other ones one in

00:39:33.556 --> 00:39:35.177
particular was the second

00:39:35.197 --> 00:39:37.219
goal against leipzig when

00:39:37.260 --> 00:39:38.201
it was just before half

00:39:38.240 --> 00:39:40.182
time and about five hour

00:39:40.222 --> 00:39:41.483
players I think pressed him

00:39:41.523 --> 00:39:42.985
down towards their corner flag

00:39:43.706 --> 00:39:45.065
Just hunted them down in packs.

00:39:45.525 --> 00:39:46.666
And it's not something we've

00:39:46.726 --> 00:39:48.327
done that often as a team

00:39:48.367 --> 00:39:49.507
against a team of that level.

00:39:49.967 --> 00:39:51.168
And we won it, five of them.

00:39:51.527 --> 00:39:53.387
And I think Dyson had a fresh air kick.

00:39:54.688 --> 00:39:56.128
And Coon obviously side-footed it in.

00:39:56.148 --> 00:39:57.949
But it was the intensity.

00:39:58.030 --> 00:39:59.969
It was the intensity.

00:40:00.349 --> 00:40:01.971
We had a goal down and then

00:40:02.010 --> 00:40:03.291
we equalised and they went, no,

00:40:03.431 --> 00:40:04.351
we go for the jugular.

00:40:04.831 --> 00:40:05.891
And that setting goal was a

00:40:05.911 --> 00:40:06.791
brilliant team goal.

00:40:07.811 --> 00:40:08.291
For me, that.

00:40:08.512 --> 00:40:09.572
But Jamesy, it's got to be Jamesy.

00:40:09.592 --> 00:40:11.112
It has to be, last weekend.

00:40:11.132 --> 00:40:11.213
Yeah.

00:40:12.552 --> 00:40:15.632
Yes, again, the whole fairytale club thing,

00:40:15.693 --> 00:40:17.793
the forty-ninth minute, etc, etc.

00:40:20.934 --> 00:40:22.496
For the game it was, James,

00:40:22.576 --> 00:40:23.135
if you're listening,

00:40:23.155 --> 00:40:24.315
the guy who sits beside me,

00:40:24.936 --> 00:40:26.077
I've never seen James

00:40:26.097 --> 00:40:27.817
beside me being so animated

00:40:27.876 --> 00:40:28.498
at the football.

00:40:28.858 --> 00:40:30.398
He's normally very placid

00:40:30.458 --> 00:40:31.679
and he's always encouraging

00:40:31.699 --> 00:40:32.298
all the players.

00:40:32.858 --> 00:40:33.699
Seeing Saturday,

00:40:33.980 --> 00:40:35.722
it was as if his life depended on this.

00:40:35.782 --> 00:40:36.461
I swear to God,

00:40:36.501 --> 00:40:38.284
he was abusing the linesman

00:40:38.324 --> 00:40:39.744
about St Mirren wasting so

00:40:39.764 --> 00:40:40.925
much time and telling the

00:40:40.945 --> 00:40:42.306
referee to get a move on.

00:40:42.668 --> 00:40:44.728
And I'm going, we've won the league, mate.

00:40:44.748 --> 00:40:45.789
Calm down, but not why.

00:40:45.809 --> 00:40:46.851
I don't know if it was the

00:40:46.871 --> 00:40:47.811
tension or just wanting

00:40:47.831 --> 00:40:48.793
James Forrest to get the

00:40:48.833 --> 00:40:49.614
ball into the net.

00:40:50.094 --> 00:40:51.574
But when that goal went in,

00:40:52.335 --> 00:40:55.057
I thought we had won a European game.

00:40:55.077 --> 00:40:56.820
It was like one of the big, dramatic,

00:40:56.940 --> 00:40:58.840
ending European games, wasn't it?

00:40:58.860 --> 00:40:59.422
It was amazing.

00:41:00.268 --> 00:41:00.829
I have one.

00:41:01.269 --> 00:41:02.291
I don't have a Celtic goal.

00:41:02.371 --> 00:41:03.791
My favourite goal, well,

00:41:04.273 --> 00:41:05.233
my favourite Celtic goal

00:41:05.813 --> 00:41:07.954
would surprisingly be Big

00:41:08.016 --> 00:41:09.317
Eaters against Aston Villa.

00:41:09.516 --> 00:41:10.416
I was doing in Birmingham

00:41:10.478 --> 00:41:11.998
and that was just a big

00:41:12.039 --> 00:41:13.699
shock because we went

00:41:13.739 --> 00:41:15.201
behind so quickly and it was this,

00:41:15.501 --> 00:41:16.541
here we fucking go.

00:41:18.264 --> 00:41:18.704
He got two.

00:41:18.744 --> 00:41:19.083
He got two.

00:41:19.103 --> 00:41:20.425
I know, but when the first one went in,

00:41:20.485 --> 00:41:21.226
it was suddenly, wait,

00:41:21.286 --> 00:41:22.327
because by that time we're

00:41:22.427 --> 00:41:23.347
all starting to look at

00:41:23.367 --> 00:41:24.949
your feet and going, here we go again.

00:41:24.969 --> 00:41:27.630
The Sid's back and then suddenly, bang,

00:41:27.670 --> 00:41:28.652
bang, and it was this.

00:41:28.751 --> 00:41:29.693
I know it ended up

00:41:29.992 --> 00:41:31.592
but it was still brilliant,

00:41:31.612 --> 00:41:33.434
that wee lift you got.

00:41:33.713 --> 00:41:35.094
But I think a special

00:41:35.134 --> 00:41:36.755
shout-out should also remember,

00:41:37.355 --> 00:41:38.614
a club I've already mentioned,

00:41:39.094 --> 00:41:39.894
Queen's Park,

00:41:40.614 --> 00:41:42.416
rolling up at Ibrox and

00:41:42.456 --> 00:41:43.456
beating Mike Fowles.

00:41:43.476 --> 00:41:47.117
I mean, come on, it's comedy moments.

00:41:47.137 --> 00:41:48.916
I love a bit of comedy.

00:41:49.016 --> 00:41:51.757
It's comedy moments going up, it's sublime,

00:41:51.777 --> 00:41:52.318
you know what I mean?

00:41:52.768 --> 00:41:54.168
And then they went on a run, I think,

00:41:54.208 --> 00:41:54.748
Queen's Park,

00:41:54.789 --> 00:41:56.329
a no-winning in twelve games.

00:41:56.771 --> 00:41:58.512
A bit like Barry Ferguson's Rangers,

00:41:59.152 --> 00:42:02.894
but it was just unbelievable.

00:42:02.934 --> 00:42:04.536
Just on that Queen's Park game.

00:42:06.001 --> 00:42:07.041
it wasn't so much a goal,

00:42:07.101 --> 00:42:08.442
it was a penalty as well

00:42:08.541 --> 00:42:11.483
after that the keeper saved.

00:42:12.184 --> 00:42:13.445
And what do you call him?

00:42:13.965 --> 00:42:14.545
Tavernier?

00:42:15.367 --> 00:42:17.568
He was on social media last

00:42:17.588 --> 00:42:19.829
night saying that he always

00:42:19.889 --> 00:42:22.411
wins things in his eleventh season,

00:42:24.112 --> 00:42:28.255
which he might well do.

00:42:28.275 --> 00:42:28.755
Right, so in respect,

00:42:28.775 --> 00:42:30.257
so that was goal of the season, right?

00:42:30.277 --> 00:42:32.597
So, Hector, we'll start with you.

00:42:32.617 --> 00:42:34.760
What about surprise slash shock?

00:42:35.340 --> 00:42:37.300
of the season anything that

00:42:37.320 --> 00:42:38.360
suddenly like you went no I

00:42:38.380 --> 00:42:39.541
don't know man you just

00:42:39.581 --> 00:42:41.121
mentioned it Queen's Park

00:42:41.461 --> 00:42:42.483
let's be honest about it

00:42:42.523 --> 00:42:44.463
Queen's Park going there

00:42:44.583 --> 00:42:45.264
and noting about the

00:42:45.284 --> 00:42:47.065
Scottish Cup was a massive

00:42:47.085 --> 00:42:50.425
surprise wasn't it the season and

00:42:50.646 --> 00:42:53.507
I think it's not so much with Celtic,

00:42:53.547 --> 00:42:54.088
I don't think.

00:42:54.168 --> 00:42:57.931
I think there's no way.

00:42:57.971 --> 00:42:59.452
Kyogo getting sold in January,

00:42:59.512 --> 00:43:01.452
was that a wee bit of a surprise?

00:43:01.472 --> 00:43:02.574
So I've got a few notes here,

00:43:02.594 --> 00:43:03.974
so that's why I'm Kyogo,

00:43:04.014 --> 00:43:05.615
but what about the balance of that?

00:43:05.655 --> 00:43:06.896
What was the other side of that deal?

00:43:07.476 --> 00:43:08.978
Well, Jota coming back, I suppose, right,

00:43:09.057 --> 00:43:10.079
is the biggest.

00:43:10.099 --> 00:43:11.000
Unfortunately, he's injured.

00:43:11.059 --> 00:43:13.101
I think Scottish football

00:43:13.862 --> 00:43:14.862
this season has been a bit

00:43:14.882 --> 00:43:17.364
of a surprise in terms of Aberdeen were,

00:43:17.884 --> 00:43:18.605
by their own standards,

00:43:18.644 --> 00:43:20.045
brilliant for the first three months.

00:43:20.965 --> 00:43:23.027
sight for about four months,

00:43:23.047 --> 00:43:23.987
then okay for two,

00:43:24.347 --> 00:43:25.527
hips for shape for three months,

00:43:26.088 --> 00:43:27.648
then really good for about six months.

00:43:27.909 --> 00:43:29.608
So it's kind of been quite topsy-turvy.

00:43:29.969 --> 00:43:32.250
Heart's been sight and

00:43:32.309 --> 00:43:33.411
somehow just floating about.

00:43:33.771 --> 00:43:35.130
So it's been quite a weird

00:43:35.170 --> 00:43:37.112
season for some of the teams overall.

00:43:37.152 --> 00:43:37.711
I think we've been

00:43:37.751 --> 00:43:38.713
consistently good other

00:43:38.733 --> 00:43:39.992
than wee spells we should

00:43:40.012 --> 00:43:40.713
get over a season.

00:43:40.753 --> 00:43:41.873
But I think the aim losing

00:43:41.893 --> 00:43:43.233
to Queen's Park has got to

00:43:43.253 --> 00:43:45.215
be the biggest shock of the season,

00:43:45.235 --> 00:43:45.534
surely.

00:43:46.215 --> 00:43:47.476
Okay.

00:43:47.556 --> 00:43:48.655
Karen, anything for you?

00:43:50.692 --> 00:43:52.612
I'm going to go with Luke McCowan.

00:43:52.632 --> 00:43:54.934
Oh, nice, nice.

00:43:54.954 --> 00:43:56.233
He's been the surprise for me.

00:43:56.693 --> 00:43:57.375
I thought, I mean,

00:43:57.675 --> 00:43:58.594
you could see he was a good

00:43:58.614 --> 00:43:59.335
player with Dundee,

00:43:59.375 --> 00:44:01.476
but how quickly he settled

00:44:01.615 --> 00:44:05.137
in and really contributed to the team,

00:44:05.177 --> 00:44:06.418
I think it's just been

00:44:06.438 --> 00:44:07.297
brilliant to watch.

00:44:07.338 --> 00:44:08.719
And it just makes it better

00:44:08.798 --> 00:44:09.639
when he's one of your own.

00:44:09.659 --> 00:44:10.398
Do you know what I mean?

00:44:10.478 --> 00:44:12.860
So for me, I would say Luke McCowan,

00:44:13.000 --> 00:44:15.460
the surprise.

00:44:15.541 --> 00:44:17.481
Yeah, and that whole infectious...

00:44:18.518 --> 00:44:21.320
I'm a boy living the dream.

00:44:22.541 --> 00:44:23.963
He's smiling his wife through it,

00:44:23.983 --> 00:44:25.284
but turning up,

00:44:25.344 --> 00:44:26.985
knowing he'll maybe get twenty minutes,

00:44:27.106 --> 00:44:28.567
he's not going to start any

00:44:28.606 --> 00:44:31.568
games until the main job's done.

00:44:31.929 --> 00:44:35.371
That attitude of this... He

00:44:35.391 --> 00:44:36.592
said a lot of people come

00:44:36.612 --> 00:44:37.773
here and just drift away.

00:44:37.954 --> 00:44:40.655
He's cemented his place in that squad,

00:44:40.876 --> 00:44:42.557
and that's still a massive achievement.

00:44:42.958 --> 00:44:43.699
We'll be here, Ralph.

00:44:45.512 --> 00:44:46.733
Surprise or shock?

00:44:47.132 --> 00:44:49.815
I'm not sure if it's a surprise.

00:44:50.614 --> 00:44:51.996
It's Dyson Maeda,

00:44:52.376 --> 00:44:53.577
how he switched from being

00:44:53.617 --> 00:44:57.139
a winger into an iconic striker.

00:44:57.679 --> 00:45:00.322
How he just adapted so quickly.

00:45:01.001 --> 00:45:02.302
I thought it might maybe

00:45:02.322 --> 00:45:03.603
take him a wee while to settle,

00:45:03.943 --> 00:45:05.164
but immediately became

00:45:05.224 --> 00:45:06.106
number one striker.

00:45:06.646 --> 00:45:10.369
And also kind of a surprise, him and Ida,

00:45:10.429 --> 00:45:11.929
that are very rarely on the

00:45:11.969 --> 00:45:12.710
pitch together,

00:45:13.110 --> 00:45:15.291
is a fifty-goal strike partnership.

00:45:16.753 --> 00:45:18.012
that surprised me because

00:45:18.393 --> 00:45:19.253
you've probably noticed I

00:45:19.273 --> 00:45:21.195
don't quite rate Aida but

00:45:21.614 --> 00:45:23.275
you can't argue with the

00:45:23.295 --> 00:45:24.155
amount of time he's on the

00:45:24.195 --> 00:45:25.257
pitch is that an opera Aida

00:45:25.277 --> 00:45:25.976
is that an opera you're

00:45:25.996 --> 00:45:27.617
talking about Aida that's his cousin

00:45:33.221 --> 00:45:34.320
but that's a good fair point

00:45:34.340 --> 00:45:35.161
because I had that in my

00:45:35.201 --> 00:45:37.521
notes like Coon and Maeda

00:45:37.541 --> 00:45:38.541
stepping up and I know Coon

00:45:38.581 --> 00:45:39.262
had a wee bit of a

00:45:39.302 --> 00:45:41.342
rollercoaster but the start

00:45:41.402 --> 00:45:41.882
of the season was

00:45:41.922 --> 00:45:45.103
phenomenal and then I had Ida, Coon,

00:45:45.264 --> 00:45:46.364
Ida Ida,

00:45:46.425 --> 00:45:48.144
Coon and Maeda all joining club

00:45:48.164 --> 00:45:48.985
at eighteen to twenty

00:45:49.005 --> 00:45:50.826
scoring twenty plus goals

00:45:50.885 --> 00:45:52.326
each I mean for the first

00:45:52.347 --> 00:45:53.766
time in a long long time

00:45:53.786 --> 00:45:54.487
that that has happened

00:45:55.007 --> 00:45:55.947
we're usually relying on

00:45:56.068 --> 00:45:58.427
one person and then you add

00:45:58.447 --> 00:46:00.268
in your three midfielders as well

00:46:01.588 --> 00:46:04.851
You know, Greta, Hatate, Engels,

00:46:05.251 --> 00:46:07.373
all Tengels plus as well.

00:46:08.054 --> 00:46:09.175
It's fantastic.

00:46:09.195 --> 00:46:10.936
Yeah, and also had,

00:46:10.996 --> 00:46:12.097
and I always like to give a

00:46:12.117 --> 00:46:13.219
wee shout out to the keeper,

00:46:13.639 --> 00:46:14.960
Smiko just slotted in.

00:46:15.119 --> 00:46:15.840
Joe Hatt was like,

00:46:15.920 --> 00:46:17.222
it was just like a like for

00:46:17.262 --> 00:46:18.563
like or even better.

00:46:19.123 --> 00:46:20.505
The way he's just slotted in

00:46:20.565 --> 00:46:21.445
and the way he suddenly

00:46:21.485 --> 00:46:24.327
became that club ambassador role.

00:46:24.675 --> 00:46:27.257
Schmeichel, I'm really glad to be here.

00:46:27.277 --> 00:46:28.840
This is a place where people

00:46:28.900 --> 00:46:30.481
win things and there's a standard.

00:46:31.481 --> 00:46:32.362
Every time he talks,

00:46:32.382 --> 00:46:34.043
he talks along the same lines.

00:46:34.543 --> 00:46:35.364
You have to meet this

00:46:35.405 --> 00:46:38.226
standard every time and we do not,

00:46:38.427 --> 00:46:39.248
and we don't stop,

00:46:39.268 --> 00:46:40.588
but we don't lower our

00:46:40.628 --> 00:46:41.750
standards at any point

00:46:41.809 --> 00:46:42.871
until the season's done.

00:46:43.351 --> 00:46:44.092
I think he's done,

00:46:44.172 --> 00:46:45.432
I think he's been a great guy,

00:46:45.954 --> 00:46:46.313
Schmeichel.

00:46:46.333 --> 00:46:48.456
And then if we can

00:46:48.496 --> 00:46:50.858
transition him with Sinasalo next year,

00:46:51.596 --> 00:46:52.677
I think that would be a

00:46:52.737 --> 00:46:53.757
great... Actually having

00:46:53.838 --> 00:46:55.579
handovers would be lovely.

00:46:55.619 --> 00:46:57.440
Well, that was the plan, really.

00:46:57.519 --> 00:46:58.121
As I'm saying,

00:46:58.141 --> 00:47:00.603
we always... We criticise

00:47:00.623 --> 00:47:01.422
the club rightly so.

00:47:01.443 --> 00:47:02.623
We actually criticise the

00:47:02.643 --> 00:47:04.746
club rightly so for lack of planning,

00:47:04.766 --> 00:47:06.786
but this was the actual plan.

00:47:07.286 --> 00:47:07.907
And believe it or not,

00:47:07.927 --> 00:47:10.068
it looks as if it might work.

00:47:10.210 --> 00:47:10.730
Fucking hell.

00:47:11.409 --> 00:47:13.311
And we've still got Scott Benn as well.

00:47:14.797 --> 00:47:15.597
well again we're just

00:47:15.617 --> 00:47:17.000
talking about he might be

00:47:17.260 --> 00:47:18.862
he has to go because again

00:47:18.882 --> 00:47:19.742
the right answer from what

00:47:19.762 --> 00:47:21.045
a young Scottish before I

00:47:21.065 --> 00:47:21.905
forget I did put that

00:47:21.925 --> 00:47:22.907
question out about what is

00:47:22.927 --> 00:47:23.967
the biggest shock or

00:47:24.007 --> 00:47:26.311
surprise of the season so say to Devlin

00:47:27.106 --> 00:47:28.766
I kind of agreed with you about Ralph.

00:47:28.827 --> 00:47:30.166
He does score on twenty goals.

00:47:31.067 --> 00:47:33.947
But again, so Stacey's highlighted here,

00:47:33.967 --> 00:47:34.668
he does score on twenty

00:47:34.768 --> 00:47:36.028
goals considering how many

00:47:36.068 --> 00:47:37.349
games he's played this season.

00:47:37.949 --> 00:47:40.150
It turns out he plays almost

00:47:40.190 --> 00:47:42.311
every game when you actually see it.

00:47:42.351 --> 00:47:43.992
No, like, involvement on every game.

00:47:44.012 --> 00:47:47.472
It's just that he's no starter.

00:47:48.172 --> 00:47:49.994
But he contributes to every game,

00:47:50.074 --> 00:47:51.094
if you know what I mean.

00:47:51.114 --> 00:47:51.974
Whereas we would kind of

00:47:52.014 --> 00:47:53.375
think he's maybe a squad player.

00:47:53.914 --> 00:47:55.317
off top of your head but it

00:47:55.336 --> 00:47:56.257
turns out say there's been

00:47:56.717 --> 00:47:58.500
sixty possible games he's

00:47:58.539 --> 00:47:59.661
played fifty-four of them

00:47:59.702 --> 00:48:00.842
or something so he's not as

00:48:00.882 --> 00:48:01.844
if he's a finch player

00:48:01.864 --> 00:48:03.425
anymore either right so we

00:48:03.445 --> 00:48:05.748
had either we had a

00:48:05.829 --> 00:48:07.409
quintessential the biggest

00:48:07.429 --> 00:48:08.891
shock is Naismith not going

00:48:08.911 --> 00:48:10.193
to Kilmarnock nor did Derek

00:48:10.213 --> 00:48:12.735
McInnes happy jaws is a weight of hearts

00:48:14.663 --> 00:48:15.804
so here's an interesting one

00:48:16.344 --> 00:48:17.106
here's an interesting one

00:48:17.166 --> 00:48:18.686
Tom Doherty Hector for you

00:48:18.726 --> 00:48:21.309
then see if you want to

00:48:21.349 --> 00:48:22.891
balance this up or hear

00:48:22.951 --> 00:48:24.532
your thoughts Tom Doherty

00:48:24.572 --> 00:48:26.315
says the biggest shock of

00:48:26.375 --> 00:48:28.076
the season how badly we

00:48:28.135 --> 00:48:32.681
played in the Glasgow derbies badly what?

00:48:32.701 --> 00:48:34.362
we played in the Glasgow derbies

00:48:35.190 --> 00:48:37.552
I would say the one in the

00:48:37.572 --> 00:48:38.373
League Cup final,

00:48:38.813 --> 00:48:40.534
although it kind of gets my

00:48:40.574 --> 00:48:41.335
goat about that one.

00:48:41.375 --> 00:48:42.514
It's as if we were outplayed.

00:48:43.016 --> 00:48:44.135
The first half, they edged it.

00:48:44.536 --> 00:48:45.056
They edged it.

00:48:45.237 --> 00:48:46.358
Second half, we were the better team.

00:48:46.757 --> 00:48:47.398
In extra time,

00:48:47.418 --> 00:48:48.739
they were just killing time

00:48:48.759 --> 00:48:49.380
for penalties.

00:48:49.800 --> 00:48:50.960
So we deserved to beat in

00:48:50.981 --> 00:48:51.621
the League Cup final.

00:48:51.641 --> 00:48:52.762
But the other two after that...

00:48:53.362 --> 00:48:54.003
The one at Irox,

00:48:54.543 --> 00:48:55.844
we went there too complacent.

00:48:56.204 --> 00:48:57.766
Just fifteen points ahead,

00:48:57.806 --> 00:48:59.007
we're going to beat them, blah, blah,

00:48:59.047 --> 00:48:59.929
blah, and we get a doon.

00:48:59.949 --> 00:49:02.152
We're lucky it was only three-nothing.

00:49:02.552 --> 00:49:03.494
The game at Celtic Park,

00:49:03.534 --> 00:49:04.934
we were shite the first half.

00:49:05.335 --> 00:49:06.076
Second half, I thought,

00:49:06.617 --> 00:49:07.257
we're probably going to go

00:49:07.277 --> 00:49:07.617
down and win it,

00:49:07.637 --> 00:49:09.059
then a mistake at the end.

00:49:09.099 --> 00:49:10.862
But I would agree with that.

00:49:10.922 --> 00:49:11.483
We've been a bit...

00:49:12.469 --> 00:49:14.369
bit shit and in the last one

00:49:14.610 --> 00:49:15.170
I thought we sort of

00:49:15.190 --> 00:49:17.271
controlled the last one you

00:49:17.291 --> 00:49:19.092
know but it was a rubbish

00:49:19.112 --> 00:49:20.592
it was like ah it was it

00:49:20.612 --> 00:49:22.153
was a kind of season's done

00:49:22.353 --> 00:49:23.655
kind of thing but listen

00:49:24.375 --> 00:49:25.275
I'll take whatever points

00:49:25.416 --> 00:49:26.195
it is and win the league

00:49:26.215 --> 00:49:27.277
with sixteen points every

00:49:27.297 --> 00:49:28.677
year that'll do me exactly

00:49:28.757 --> 00:49:30.257
it's the the ballot on

00:49:30.277 --> 00:49:31.219
balance would be quite

00:49:31.239 --> 00:49:32.719
happy here's one cam for

00:49:32.759 --> 00:49:34.159
your thoughts the sully

00:49:34.199 --> 00:49:35.340
shamrock god bless who's

00:49:35.380 --> 00:49:37.101
listening to us somewhere on uh

00:49:37.661 --> 00:49:38.483
Friday morning,

00:49:38.503 --> 00:49:39.523
sort of travelling back

00:49:39.543 --> 00:49:43.146
from his usual workplace out in the east.

00:49:43.385 --> 00:49:44.927
Scales, the biggest shock of the season,

00:49:44.967 --> 00:49:45.407
Scales,

00:49:45.728 --> 00:49:47.128
how much he has missed when he

00:49:47.148 --> 00:49:47.608
isn't playing.

00:49:47.648 --> 00:49:52.032
Apparently, and I know Hector loves a stat,

00:49:52.672 --> 00:49:53.753
Scales is the highest

00:49:53.813 --> 00:49:55.534
ranking stat of any player

00:49:55.594 --> 00:49:57.016
in Scottish football this season.

00:49:57.496 --> 00:49:58.737
If you're fucking blind to

00:49:58.757 --> 00:50:01.300
get the highest ranking, right?

00:50:01.480 --> 00:50:03.581
Stats are stats, Mr Scovedale.

00:50:04.945 --> 00:50:06.726
No, if they don't pass the eye test,

00:50:06.746 --> 00:50:07.827
they don't pass the test.

00:50:09.987 --> 00:50:13.188
Liam's skills is an enigma to me.

00:50:13.929 --> 00:50:15.210
Sometimes I just want to say,

00:50:15.250 --> 00:50:16.929
what on earth are you doing in this team?

00:50:17.329 --> 00:50:18.451
And then other times, you know,

00:50:18.471 --> 00:50:20.070
like some of his performances in Europe,

00:50:20.170 --> 00:50:20.992
you can't knock it.

00:50:21.072 --> 00:50:22.192
They were outstanding.

00:50:23.952 --> 00:50:25.253
I think Trusty's not done

00:50:25.273 --> 00:50:26.474
himself any favours.

00:50:27.833 --> 00:50:29.394
And that's why he's back in the team.

00:50:29.434 --> 00:50:31.034
So Trusty really needs to

00:50:31.074 --> 00:50:32.016
man up next season.

00:50:34.159 --> 00:50:43.465
I agree but the only thing

00:50:43.626 --> 00:50:44.586
that's even playing on the

00:50:44.606 --> 00:50:46.407
left hand side you know

00:50:46.728 --> 00:50:48.028
it's a shame that he's just

00:50:48.068 --> 00:50:49.869
not got a run in the team and

00:50:50.893 --> 00:50:51.855
That's only because of how

00:50:51.875 --> 00:50:52.916
good Carter Vickers is.

00:50:54.556 --> 00:50:55.958
Sorry, did you use the word good?

00:50:56.878 --> 00:51:00.623
I see what you did there, Carter.

00:51:00.643 --> 00:51:03.605
We've only got two centre-halves.

00:51:03.664 --> 00:51:05.766
Liam Scales and Dabrowski.

00:51:06.387 --> 00:51:08.208
Dabrowski is not being

00:51:08.248 --> 00:51:09.369
picked because he's not left-footed.

00:51:09.389 --> 00:51:14.454
It's dead simple.

00:51:15.255 --> 00:51:16.295
We've got two defenders,

00:51:16.335 --> 00:51:17.117
the rest of them are donkeys.

00:51:17.137 --> 00:51:17.856
You're dead simple.

00:51:17.998 --> 00:51:18.458
Right.

00:51:23.952 --> 00:51:26.855
I'm not going to talk about

00:51:26.934 --> 00:51:27.936
Shloop because that's just

00:51:27.976 --> 00:51:29.036
a noise you make when

00:51:29.137 --> 00:51:30.077
you're not very well.

00:51:30.097 --> 00:51:30.797
We'll come back to the

00:51:30.878 --> 00:51:33.039
trustee in the Rocky and Lagabielke,

00:51:33.059 --> 00:51:33.541
remember him?

00:51:33.561 --> 00:51:35.161
We'll come back to that in Stephen Wells.

00:51:35.222 --> 00:51:36.943
We'll come back to that in

00:51:36.963 --> 00:51:37.963
the next question, right?

00:51:37.983 --> 00:51:39.646
But this will finish this.

00:51:39.686 --> 00:51:40.586
Let me just finish this.

00:51:40.626 --> 00:51:41.608
Surprise of the season.

00:51:41.967 --> 00:51:42.728
Here's a nice one.

00:51:42.889 --> 00:51:45.490
Here's a nice one, Ralph, from Bob.

00:51:46.280 --> 00:51:47.780
Surprised every season is us

00:51:47.820 --> 00:51:49.021
getting more penalties this

00:51:49.101 --> 00:51:50.262
season than Sevco.

00:51:51.724 --> 00:51:53.246
No, it's not a surprise.

00:51:53.306 --> 00:51:54.847
Crawford Allen's away now.

00:51:55.887 --> 00:51:57.769
Willie Collum is back.

00:51:59.650 --> 00:52:00.851
He's making the decisions.

00:52:00.931 --> 00:52:03.795
We're a wee bit more transparent.

00:52:03.835 --> 00:52:05.235
We're getting more penalties

00:52:05.255 --> 00:52:06.436
than them because they're

00:52:06.456 --> 00:52:07.157
applying the rules.

00:52:07.438 --> 00:52:08.159
It's simple.

00:52:09.460 --> 00:52:10.280
I still think we should get

00:52:10.300 --> 00:52:10.960
a statue for him.

00:52:14.619 --> 00:52:15.099
Okay, that's right.

00:52:15.119 --> 00:52:15.539
Sorry, Caroline, you go.

00:52:15.559 --> 00:52:16.440
It's not the fact that

00:52:16.481 --> 00:52:18.103
they've increased giving us penalties.

00:52:18.163 --> 00:52:19.264
What's happened is they've

00:52:19.284 --> 00:52:20.525
stopped giving them all the

00:52:20.565 --> 00:52:22.068
dodgy penalties that they were getting.

00:52:22.367 --> 00:52:23.289
That's what's stopping.

00:52:23.849 --> 00:52:24.510
And do you know what?

00:52:24.731 --> 00:52:25.452
I'm going to give Willie

00:52:25.492 --> 00:52:26.693
Colm a bit of credit here.

00:52:29.568 --> 00:52:30.929
I know, but I'm going to say,

00:52:31.489 --> 00:52:33.048
I think him doing this, you know,

00:52:33.590 --> 00:52:34.630
it might look like nonsense,

00:52:34.650 --> 00:52:35.951
but every week he's coming

00:52:36.050 --> 00:52:37.451
out and he's highlighting

00:52:38.851 --> 00:52:40.413
the mistakes that they've been making.

00:52:41.032 --> 00:52:41.273
Now,

00:52:42.193 --> 00:52:43.693
what that's doing is that's putting

00:52:43.713 --> 00:52:44.494
pressure on them.

00:52:45.275 --> 00:52:46.735
And what happened there with,

00:52:48.815 --> 00:52:49.617
who's that guy again?

00:52:49.697 --> 00:52:51.317
I'm terrible with names.

00:52:52.318 --> 00:52:52.577
Alan Muir.

00:52:52.597 --> 00:52:52.818
Alan Muir.

00:52:54.376 --> 00:52:56.077
He gave Muir enough rope to

00:52:56.117 --> 00:52:57.637
hang himself before that

00:52:57.677 --> 00:52:58.478
because there was another

00:52:58.579 --> 00:53:00.000
incident where he'd messed up.

00:53:00.621 --> 00:53:01.601
And then with that one,

00:53:01.762 --> 00:53:02.882
because he's hanging them

00:53:02.943 --> 00:53:05.324
out in public and not naming them,

00:53:05.405 --> 00:53:06.146
but showing them what

00:53:06.166 --> 00:53:07.447
they're doing continuously wrong,

00:53:07.847 --> 00:53:09.949
it's given him a chance now to say, right,

00:53:10.349 --> 00:53:11.389
you're out, you're out.

00:53:11.730 --> 00:53:14.032
And I think that's the best

00:53:14.052 --> 00:53:14.932
way that he could have done it.

00:53:14.952 --> 00:53:18.335
Yeah, absolutely right.

00:53:19.215 --> 00:53:20.856
And eventually it will clear

00:53:20.916 --> 00:53:23.295
out the old Lanarkshire SFA

00:53:23.376 --> 00:53:24.757
referee group and you'll

00:53:24.797 --> 00:53:25.697
start getting people in

00:53:25.717 --> 00:53:26.838
that understand the rules

00:53:27.458 --> 00:53:28.217
and play to them.

00:53:28.597 --> 00:53:30.018
It might take a few years yet,

00:53:30.059 --> 00:53:32.960
but it's a start.

00:53:32.980 --> 00:53:33.780
I'm still not saying that

00:53:33.800 --> 00:53:34.760
Willie Coleman was a good

00:53:34.780 --> 00:53:36.121
ref because he was a shocker.

00:53:37.041 --> 00:53:41.242
But I think he is doing half decent.

00:53:41.262 --> 00:53:42.222
He reads them all out.

00:53:42.603 --> 00:53:44.342
But I think the fact that

00:53:44.523 --> 00:53:45.983
they've had that amount of penalties,

00:53:48.023 --> 00:53:49.804
reduced this season I think

00:53:49.824 --> 00:53:53.567
that tells a story At one

00:53:53.606 --> 00:53:54.606
time you couldn't get a bet

00:53:54.646 --> 00:53:56.027
on them getting a penalty

00:53:56.487 --> 00:53:57.789
you had to go round the

00:53:57.809 --> 00:53:59.050
side a ways and put a bet

00:53:59.130 --> 00:54:00.411
on James Tavernier scoring

00:54:00.451 --> 00:54:01.731
a goal because you couldn't

00:54:02.351 --> 00:54:03.211
honestly the bookies

00:54:03.231 --> 00:54:04.472
wouldn't have liked you but

00:54:04.552 --> 00:54:06.333
now at least there's a wee

00:54:06.353 --> 00:54:08.695
bit of common sense coming

00:54:08.715 --> 00:54:09.155
out of the game

00:54:09.775 --> 00:54:12.398
Okay, so Hector,

00:54:13.378 --> 00:54:15.340
this is still a surprise stroke shock,

00:54:15.420 --> 00:54:17.601
but it's moving into the next territory,

00:54:17.681 --> 00:54:19.664
which is if I could wish

00:54:19.684 --> 00:54:21.945
for one fine form next season, right?

00:54:22.025 --> 00:54:23.065
So this ties into this.

00:54:23.606 --> 00:54:24.867
So one second.

00:54:24.907 --> 00:54:27.929
So Franky to Frank mentioned this,

00:54:28.331 --> 00:54:29.552
realising the Japanese

00:54:29.592 --> 00:54:30.391
manager might have been

00:54:30.472 --> 00:54:32.693
onto something playing Maeda up front,

00:54:32.914 --> 00:54:33.173
right?

00:54:33.655 --> 00:54:34.936
And then that ties in with

00:54:35.996 --> 00:54:37.458
Rebel Rock saying,

00:54:38.273 --> 00:54:39.894
Surprise slash shock of the season.

00:54:40.275 --> 00:54:42.336
Letting Kiogo leave and then

00:54:42.356 --> 00:54:43.396
not snapping up

00:54:43.777 --> 00:54:46.099
Christgarten before the window closed.

00:54:46.539 --> 00:54:47.320
Crazy then.

00:54:47.800 --> 00:54:50.541
So, Hector, Kiogo leaves.

00:54:50.621 --> 00:54:52.222
We don't replace him immediately.

00:54:52.302 --> 00:54:54.463
We just decide to go with what we've got.

00:54:55.704 --> 00:54:56.865
Is that going to continue or

00:54:56.885 --> 00:54:57.967
do we think we're going to

00:54:58.007 --> 00:54:59.748
go out and spend X amount

00:55:00.027 --> 00:55:01.469
on a proven striker?

00:55:02.739 --> 00:55:06.061
The thing about it Rodgers

00:55:06.422 --> 00:55:08.063
way before the window

00:55:08.083 --> 00:55:09.585
closed in January you know

00:55:09.704 --> 00:55:10.585
every media conference

00:55:10.605 --> 00:55:11.865
every Friday and usually

00:55:11.887 --> 00:55:12.726
there's at least one or two

00:55:12.766 --> 00:55:13.748
the media ask him about

00:55:14.409 --> 00:55:15.650
plans for the coming window

00:55:15.710 --> 00:55:17.670
and he made it clear that

00:55:17.731 --> 00:55:19.112
another striker was what he

00:55:19.152 --> 00:55:21.494
wanted so I don't think

00:55:21.514 --> 00:55:23.215
that's changed at all but

00:55:27.641 --> 00:55:28.922
I think I think Rodgers has

00:55:28.943 --> 00:55:30.184
got more power this time

00:55:30.364 --> 00:55:32.025
right and what I mean by

00:55:32.045 --> 00:55:33.387
that is that the fact that

00:55:33.626 --> 00:55:36.668
Desmond went to come back

00:55:36.708 --> 00:55:38.469
again the second time and

00:55:38.490 --> 00:55:39.231
there's no way he's not

00:55:39.251 --> 00:55:41.052
returned without assurances

00:55:41.092 --> 00:55:43.414
about you know budget and

00:55:43.695 --> 00:55:45.556
you know more control and

00:55:45.576 --> 00:55:46.456
he'll still get frustrated

00:55:46.556 --> 00:55:48.038
at Celtic but the thing

00:55:48.057 --> 00:55:48.739
that gives me a bit more

00:55:48.778 --> 00:55:49.878
confidence that we'll get

00:55:50.719 --> 00:55:51.541
players in is the fact we

00:55:51.581 --> 00:55:52.521
actually spent a few quid

00:55:52.541 --> 00:55:53.862
last summer for the first

00:55:53.902 --> 00:55:54.862
time in a very long time

00:55:55.242 --> 00:55:56.043
people might disagree with

00:55:56.063 --> 00:55:56.862
who we bought that that's

00:55:57.523 --> 00:55:58.304
neither here nor there but

00:55:58.324 --> 00:56:00.005
the fact is that I was sold

00:56:00.025 --> 00:56:01.925
Matt O'Reilly but we also

00:56:01.945 --> 00:56:02.927
spent about thirty million

00:56:02.947 --> 00:56:06.568
pound and one guy for nine one for eleven

00:56:07.713 --> 00:56:09.695
So I think Champions League

00:56:09.715 --> 00:56:10.795
money is there again this season.

00:56:10.815 --> 00:56:12.155
We've got plenty of cash in the bank.

00:56:13.496 --> 00:56:15.277
We might sell one guy again this summer.

00:56:15.757 --> 00:56:18.057
Maybe Coon's going to go, I'm guessing,

00:56:18.097 --> 00:56:18.297
here.

00:56:18.739 --> 00:56:19.659
So I think we will.

00:56:20.039 --> 00:56:21.119
But my issue is, Desi,

00:56:22.099 --> 00:56:23.219
I think we will spend cash.

00:56:23.239 --> 00:56:24.240
It's when we spend it.

00:56:25.061 --> 00:56:26.722
right we need to spend it

00:56:26.742 --> 00:56:27.742
we'll get this qualifying

00:56:27.782 --> 00:56:29.121
game coming up so any club

00:56:29.141 --> 00:56:30.003
worth its salt with all

00:56:30.023 --> 00:56:30.922
that cash to bank we go

00:56:30.943 --> 00:56:32.362
right we probably need

00:56:32.402 --> 00:56:33.403
another striker maybe one

00:56:33.423 --> 00:56:34.623
other first team player in

00:56:34.844 --> 00:56:36.344
with the current group to

00:56:36.385 --> 00:56:37.364
get through the qualifiers

00:56:37.405 --> 00:56:39.184
but Celtic being Celtic it

00:56:39.224 --> 00:56:41.485
tends to be just the day

00:56:41.525 --> 00:56:42.465
before the window closes

00:56:42.525 --> 00:56:43.427
isn't it they do the big

00:56:43.447 --> 00:56:45.027
deals and I just that's my

00:56:45.067 --> 00:56:46.608
wish get one or two in

00:56:46.628 --> 00:56:48.007
before ideally for the

00:56:48.027 --> 00:56:48.708
start of pre-season

00:56:48.728 --> 00:56:50.168
training and then hit the

00:56:50.188 --> 00:56:51.268
ground running and time for

00:56:51.289 --> 00:56:52.949
the European qualifiers or

00:56:52.989 --> 00:56:53.889
qualification round

00:56:54.289 --> 00:56:55.690
Yep, so tying into that, Karen,

00:56:55.710 --> 00:56:56.510
we'll be you then.

00:56:56.610 --> 00:56:57.990
Because again, as I mentioned before,

00:56:58.010 --> 00:57:01.152
we've still got Lagobielka, Stephen Welsh,

00:57:01.632 --> 00:57:04.653
Narocki, Trustee, Scales.

00:57:05.574 --> 00:57:06.914
We've no got a dependent

00:57:06.954 --> 00:57:09.255
partner at the moment for Carter Vickers.

00:57:09.856 --> 00:57:10.755
Do we have to get rid of

00:57:10.996 --> 00:57:12.115
four out of five of them

00:57:12.135 --> 00:57:13.257
before we can actually look

00:57:13.277 --> 00:57:14.836
to replace with an R-II or

00:57:14.856 --> 00:57:16.297
at least one decent one?

00:57:16.838 --> 00:57:18.418
Or would you rather see a focus,

00:57:18.438 --> 00:57:19.438
would you think the focus

00:57:19.458 --> 00:57:20.378
is going to be somewhere

00:57:20.438 --> 00:57:21.619
else immediately?

00:57:22.762 --> 00:57:24.043
Well, if Taylor's going to go,

00:57:24.282 --> 00:57:24.804
you're going to need

00:57:24.824 --> 00:57:25.925
back-up at left-back.

00:57:28.226 --> 00:57:29.809
And that would, for me,

00:57:30.469 --> 00:57:31.530
might be a priority over a

00:57:31.590 --> 00:57:32.731
centre-back at the moment.

00:57:34.612 --> 00:57:35.934
Because we can't go through

00:57:35.954 --> 00:57:36.894
a season with just having

00:57:36.914 --> 00:57:37.856
Kiernan Tierney there.

00:57:39.717 --> 00:57:41.980
But I think it will depend

00:57:42.019 --> 00:57:43.280
because there's been a few rumours,

00:57:43.362 --> 00:57:44.443
I don't know if they're true or not,

00:57:44.503 --> 00:57:45.784
about Carter Vickers going.

00:57:46.454 --> 00:57:47.775
And if that's on the cards,

00:57:47.914 --> 00:57:49.094
and I don't know if you've

00:57:49.155 --> 00:57:50.775
heard the Ayer story as well,

00:57:51.717 --> 00:57:53.818
so if that's on the cards,

00:57:54.318 --> 00:57:58.360
that might take precedence

00:57:58.380 --> 00:57:59.559
then if people leave.

00:58:01.641 --> 00:58:02.581
So you don't know.

00:58:02.621 --> 00:58:03.141
But at the moment,

00:58:03.161 --> 00:58:04.603
I would say right back is

00:58:04.643 --> 00:58:05.623
comfortable because I don't

00:58:05.643 --> 00:58:08.445
think Johnston or Wellston will leave.

00:58:08.465 --> 00:58:11.925
It will depend on if Carter Vickers goes,

00:58:11.945 --> 00:58:13.427
they would certainly need to strengthen.

00:58:13.715 --> 00:58:14.956
definitely need to strengthen.

00:58:16.597 --> 00:58:17.880
If Trusty can step up,

00:58:17.920 --> 00:58:19.041
I don't see that as a priority.

00:58:19.061 --> 00:58:20.021
The thing about Trusty,

00:58:20.463 --> 00:58:22.324
he did really well in the European Games.

00:58:22.965 --> 00:58:24.347
It's just that I hope we can

00:58:24.367 --> 00:58:25.427
get the physicality of the

00:58:25.469 --> 00:58:26.849
Scottish game and then I

00:58:26.869 --> 00:58:27.831
think he might be alright

00:58:27.871 --> 00:58:29.293
and maybe come out a bit

00:58:29.313 --> 00:58:30.673
more positive with the ball.

00:58:31.315 --> 00:58:32.876
If he can do those things, then,

00:58:33.097 --> 00:58:33.358
you know...

00:58:34.795 --> 00:58:35.556
We want to watch.

00:58:35.576 --> 00:58:37.898
You take a look at Coon, you know,

00:58:37.918 --> 00:58:39.900
it took him six months to settle.

00:58:40.260 --> 00:58:41.201
Some players it just takes

00:58:41.221 --> 00:58:42.121
that little bit longer.

00:58:42.442 --> 00:58:43.963
So I'm willing to give him a

00:58:44.003 --> 00:58:45.666
longer time to settle.

00:58:45.985 --> 00:58:47.126
I think we need a defensive

00:58:47.166 --> 00:58:49.829
midfielder first and a left

00:58:49.849 --> 00:58:50.951
back would be my priorities.

00:58:52.208 --> 00:58:53.128
and I see just your point

00:58:53.148 --> 00:58:54.411
there I agree with what

00:58:54.510 --> 00:58:55.612
you're saying but what's

00:58:55.632 --> 00:58:56.634
interesting to see the

00:58:56.673 --> 00:58:59.456
trustee either and angles

00:59:00.538 --> 00:59:01.458
all freedom didn't do

00:59:01.478 --> 00:59:02.840
pre-season with the club

00:59:03.521 --> 00:59:05.304
it's a great point yeah and

00:59:05.364 --> 00:59:06.666
it's remember I couldn't

00:59:06.686 --> 00:59:07.887
come in the previous giant

00:59:07.987 --> 00:59:08.887
had an issue with I think

00:59:08.907 --> 00:59:10.911
their operation in his mouth or something

00:59:11.451 --> 00:59:12.711
and he'd lost about twelve

00:59:12.731 --> 00:59:13.791
fourteen pounds in weight

00:59:13.811 --> 00:59:14.652
which for a professional

00:59:14.713 --> 00:59:15.552
athlete you can imagine

00:59:15.572 --> 00:59:16.373
that's a hell of a lot but

00:59:17.074 --> 00:59:17.873
you find that the guys

00:59:17.893 --> 00:59:18.875
should come in just as the

00:59:18.894 --> 00:59:19.735
windows close and they've

00:59:19.755 --> 00:59:20.815
missed that six week

00:59:21.295 --> 00:59:22.436
preparation period with the

00:59:22.476 --> 00:59:23.376
club for their fitness

00:59:23.436 --> 00:59:23.916
getting to know their

00:59:23.936 --> 00:59:25.617
teammates and that's why

00:59:25.637 --> 00:59:27.059
I'm saying get the players

00:59:27.119 --> 00:59:27.978
in for the start of

00:59:28.039 --> 00:59:29.199
pre-season get your one or

00:59:29.260 --> 00:59:30.440
two key players in

00:59:31.121 --> 00:59:32.041
And then if you do really

00:59:32.061 --> 00:59:32.782
well and you've got a few

00:59:32.802 --> 00:59:34.983
quid left over for the icing on the cake,

00:59:35.224 --> 00:59:37.306
then you do that as the window's closing.

00:59:37.346 --> 00:59:39.288
But I think we all three of those players,

00:59:39.588 --> 00:59:40.469
they were left in the lurch a bit,

00:59:40.489 --> 00:59:41.250
weren't they, in the last minute?

00:59:41.269 --> 00:59:41.829
Definitely, definitely.

00:59:44.552 --> 00:59:45.413
And unfair criticism.

00:59:45.432 --> 00:59:45.673
Maybe why?

00:59:47.016 --> 00:59:47.177
Sorry,

00:59:47.396 --> 00:59:48.938
that's maybe why the two American

00:59:48.978 --> 00:59:50.318
boys are not going out to

00:59:50.538 --> 00:59:52.278
America for some kind of

00:59:52.338 --> 00:59:53.278
summer tournament or

00:59:53.798 --> 00:59:54.820
international football.

00:59:55.139 --> 00:59:56.960
They're being kept here for a pre-season,

00:59:58.121 --> 00:59:59.340
Carter Vickers and Trustee,

00:59:59.780 --> 01:00:01.061
which might make a difference.

01:00:01.981 --> 01:00:03.501
The overwhelming concern for

01:00:03.541 --> 01:00:04.342
me is I don't think we'll

01:00:04.362 --> 01:00:05.623
spend anything until we

01:00:06.063 --> 01:00:06.862
work out whether or not

01:00:06.903 --> 01:00:08.043
we're in the Champions League.

01:00:09.259 --> 01:00:10.318
the qualifier will make a

01:00:10.358 --> 01:00:12.000
big difference to the

01:00:12.019 --> 01:00:14.380
transfer plans this summer.

01:00:15.360 --> 01:00:16.920
But it shouldn't.

01:00:17.021 --> 01:00:18.521
Every year we'll get the same.

01:00:18.561 --> 01:00:19.481
Apologies, folks,

01:00:19.501 --> 01:00:20.300
we are listening and you're

01:00:20.320 --> 01:00:21.661
saying I heard this for the

01:00:21.681 --> 01:00:23.141
last ten years of podcasting.

01:00:23.161 --> 01:00:24.121
What was your question?

01:00:24.222 --> 01:00:27.362
What I would like to say... No,

01:00:27.382 --> 01:00:27.802
you said a wish.

01:00:27.822 --> 01:00:28.322
What's your wish?

01:00:28.342 --> 01:00:28.463
Right,

01:00:29.762 --> 01:00:31.164
so we're not saying it's going to happen.

01:00:31.443 --> 01:00:32.284
It's a fucking wish.

01:00:34.454 --> 01:00:35.815
My wish would be to see

01:00:35.896 --> 01:00:37.956
Barry Ferguson putting his

01:00:38.157 --> 01:00:40.556
Orange Ranger pickup up for

01:00:40.617 --> 01:00:42.478
sale on exchange on the map,

01:00:42.637 --> 01:00:44.318
because he no longer needs

01:00:44.398 --> 01:00:46.438
it to drive to Murray Park,

01:00:46.458 --> 01:00:47.519
so that would be really nice,

01:00:47.539 --> 01:00:48.960
because that's still one of my highlights,

01:00:48.980 --> 01:00:50.481
watching him driving the

01:00:50.501 --> 01:00:52.860
boys into their new job.

01:00:54.222 --> 01:00:55.581
Ralph, what about you?

01:00:55.601 --> 01:00:57.043
What would you like to see?

01:00:58.782 --> 01:01:00.403
This before we move on,

01:01:00.443 --> 01:01:01.664
but these are some of the

01:01:01.704 --> 01:01:02.704
wee talking points I'd

01:01:03.728 --> 01:01:04.708
I'd noted, right?

01:01:05.148 --> 01:01:06.550
So, for example, this season,

01:01:06.590 --> 01:01:08.690
Europe after Christmas, Jota back,

01:01:08.710 --> 01:01:09.510
he'll go away.

01:01:09.971 --> 01:01:11.211
Coon and Maeda stepping up,

01:01:11.271 --> 01:01:12.092
Michael slotting in.

01:01:12.552 --> 01:01:13.012
Forrest,

01:01:13.052 --> 01:01:14.432
record number of medals and

01:01:14.512 --> 01:01:16.253
scoring the sixth season in a row.

01:01:17.074 --> 01:01:18.034
John Kerry scoring,

01:01:18.054 --> 01:01:19.153
I'd really like to see that,

01:01:19.213 --> 01:01:22.835
but the other side of that, Rocco Vattern,

01:01:23.175 --> 01:01:24.076
Cummings is looking as if

01:01:24.096 --> 01:01:24.735
he's exiting it.

01:01:25.315 --> 01:01:27.536
Even the head of the pathway manager,

01:01:27.617 --> 01:01:29.697
Darno Day, he's buggering off to Swansea,

01:01:29.757 --> 01:01:32.559
so I've no idea what continuity the

01:01:33.483 --> 01:01:35.827
the club seem to have, right?

01:01:35.847 --> 01:01:37.710
We've got Big Phil, Queen's Park,

01:01:37.750 --> 01:01:38.891
Baz and his own Ranger.

01:01:39.793 --> 01:01:40.974
They'll never won anything

01:01:40.994 --> 01:01:42.556
at Ibrox until almost the last game.

01:01:42.931 --> 01:01:44.552
We've got the Forty-Niners

01:01:44.592 --> 01:01:46.054
coming over the hill again.

01:01:46.873 --> 01:01:47.775
The rise and fall of

01:01:47.875 --> 01:01:49.596
Aberdeen and the fall and rise of Hibs,

01:01:49.635 --> 01:01:50.737
as you mentioned, Hector.

01:01:51.257 --> 01:01:53.018
A potential living return.

01:01:53.358 --> 01:01:54.278
Boo!

01:01:54.298 --> 01:01:55.280
They're playing the Knights.

01:01:55.980 --> 01:01:57.221
They're on their own.

01:01:57.621 --> 01:01:58.141
Nothing each.

01:01:58.201 --> 01:01:58.762
Twenty minutes.

01:01:59.021 --> 01:01:59.922
Of course it is.

01:02:00.163 --> 01:02:01.744
Of course it's fucking nothing each.

01:02:02.884 --> 01:02:03.925
And then, right, so, Ralph,

01:02:03.985 --> 01:02:04.885
I'm especially thinking of

01:02:04.925 --> 01:02:06.206
you when I wrote these.

01:02:06.266 --> 01:02:08.088
Fans back for Celtic Park

01:02:08.108 --> 01:02:09.487
slash iBooks games.

01:02:10.028 --> 01:02:12.010
The police treatment at Derby Day.

01:02:12.661 --> 01:02:13.643
And then Flag Day,

01:02:13.664 --> 01:02:16.148
the board taking charge of

01:02:16.168 --> 01:02:17.510
the TIFO and not letting

01:02:17.530 --> 01:02:18.992
the Green Brigade have the TIFO.

01:02:19.554 --> 01:02:21.416
So do we think board

01:02:21.436 --> 01:02:22.358
relations are going to get

01:02:22.378 --> 01:02:23.721
any better next season, Ralph?

01:02:23.820 --> 01:02:24.382
Are you hopeful?

01:02:26.574 --> 01:02:28.175
That'll never happen.

01:02:29.056 --> 01:02:30.197
We're still investigating

01:02:30.237 --> 01:02:31.599
all the problems with the police.

01:02:31.639 --> 01:02:32.759
We're still investigating.

01:02:33.179 --> 01:02:34.039
Do you remember the one

01:02:34.079 --> 01:02:35.501
where the Green Brigade

01:02:35.581 --> 01:02:38.443
couldn't get up to the ground?

01:02:38.583 --> 01:02:39.844
That'll just disappear

01:02:39.884 --> 01:02:43.365
through the headlines like the last time.

01:02:44.206 --> 01:02:45.887
We'll be told not to sing stuff.

01:02:45.907 --> 01:02:47.829
It'll just be the same old.

01:02:48.329 --> 01:02:48.989
Eventually,

01:02:49.710 --> 01:02:51.112
they'll be talking about making

01:02:51.132 --> 01:02:52.231
the ground a wee bit bigger,

01:02:52.492 --> 01:02:53.853
which has been going on for years.

01:02:54.574 --> 01:02:55.474
And no, we won't.

01:02:56.514 --> 01:02:57.556
That will all stay the same.

01:02:57.896 --> 01:02:59.838
The only thing that we can

01:02:59.858 --> 01:03:02.981
hope for is that wee bit

01:03:03.061 --> 01:03:05.143
more adventurism on the

01:03:05.163 --> 01:03:06.304
park because it's not going

01:03:06.324 --> 01:03:10.367
to happen behind the boardroom.

01:03:11.148 --> 01:03:12.309
They've got their remit,

01:03:12.329 --> 01:03:13.250
they're doing what they're

01:03:13.269 --> 01:03:15.771
paid to do and they'll continue to do so.

01:03:16.550 --> 01:03:17.851
Yeah, if Monty was here,

01:03:17.891 --> 01:03:18.891
he would be able to salute

01:03:18.911 --> 01:03:20.193
the board because his

01:03:20.233 --> 01:03:21.893
preferential shares are doing okay.

01:03:21.914 --> 01:03:24.416
His preferential A shares, he's doing fine,

01:03:24.436 --> 01:03:25.356
but he's not here tonight.

01:03:25.697 --> 01:03:27.739
Right, so that was the season that was,

01:03:27.759 --> 01:03:28.719
and we've had a wee bit of

01:03:28.739 --> 01:03:29.280
a look forward.

01:03:29.773 --> 01:03:31.114
But looking immediately forward,

01:03:31.193 --> 01:03:32.914
we have the Scottish Cup final.

01:03:32.934 --> 01:03:36.197
That tedious treble time comes Saturday.

01:03:36.556 --> 01:03:38.557
So, Karen, what's your immediate thoughts?

01:03:38.697 --> 01:03:40.820
Aberdeen have been in a mad spiral,

01:03:41.260 --> 01:03:42.561
even throwing chairs at my

01:03:42.661 --> 01:03:44.001
beloved Jack McKenzie.

01:03:44.402 --> 01:03:46.503
There's your left, there's your left-back,

01:03:46.543 --> 01:03:47.704
back up right away there.

01:03:47.724 --> 01:03:49.565
Sadly, now that he's lost an eye,

01:03:49.605 --> 01:03:50.465
we can't sign him.

01:03:50.905 --> 01:03:51.746
I think that might have been

01:03:51.925 --> 01:03:52.987
Hector in the audience

01:03:53.027 --> 01:03:54.728
making sure we didn't sign him.

01:03:54.788 --> 01:03:55.708
That's what that was.

01:03:56.748 --> 01:03:59.110
but so yeah so is that a

01:03:59.130 --> 01:04:00.050
case carrying do you think

01:04:00.409 --> 01:04:01.610
only we can beat myself in

01:04:01.650 --> 01:04:03.411
saturday one hundred

01:04:03.431 --> 01:04:05.311
percent it's it's just

01:04:05.411 --> 01:04:06.871
about how much we are up

01:04:06.911 --> 01:04:08.052
for it and the way

01:04:08.072 --> 01:04:09.373
brandon's been going since

01:04:09.432 --> 01:04:10.432
I've got beat by the st

01:04:10.452 --> 01:04:12.434
johnston I think he's just

01:04:12.454 --> 01:04:13.833
been gearing up for this

01:04:13.873 --> 01:04:16.034
final um and I've just got

01:04:16.074 --> 01:04:16.954
a feeling that we're really

01:04:16.994 --> 01:04:19.235
going to go for it I'm

01:04:19.295 --> 01:04:21.436
thinking four now right but

01:04:22.077 --> 01:04:22.836
I could see a score in more

01:04:22.856 --> 01:04:26.038
and what about the second half yeah

01:04:33.751 --> 01:04:34.510
I think six in a second.

01:04:34.530 --> 01:04:35.512
And Dyson to score a hat-trick, by the way,

01:04:35.532 --> 01:04:35.731
as well.

01:04:35.751 --> 01:04:36.092
That would be it.

01:04:36.112 --> 01:04:36.231
Again,

01:04:36.251 --> 01:04:37.452
see that heat that they missed on

01:04:37.472 --> 01:04:37.811
Saturday?

01:04:37.851 --> 01:04:38.672
That would have been a

01:04:38.713 --> 01:04:41.072
lovely wee cherry on top of the season.

01:04:41.213 --> 01:04:43.253
Everybody's well on that.

01:04:43.313 --> 01:04:45.114
And then, again, as soon as they missed it,

01:04:45.135 --> 01:04:45.914
it was like, yay,

01:04:45.934 --> 01:04:47.175
we've got the old Dyson back.

01:04:47.375 --> 01:04:49.496
It's nice to get that wee comfort feeling.

01:04:49.916 --> 01:04:50.635
What about you, Ralph?

01:04:50.677 --> 01:04:51.717
What do you think for Saturday?

01:04:51.737 --> 01:04:54.257
Are you trepidatious?

01:04:54.297 --> 01:04:55.177
Are you confident?

01:04:56.775 --> 01:04:58.675
If you cast your mind back

01:04:58.695 --> 01:04:59.675
to the start of the season

01:05:00.297 --> 01:05:02.097
and the first time we played Aberdeen,

01:05:02.117 --> 01:05:03.898
they ran as they knew how to play us.

01:05:04.398 --> 01:05:07.320
And that was a wee bit of a wake-up call,

01:05:07.340 --> 01:05:07.659
I think.

01:05:08.300 --> 01:05:09.541
So the next time we played them,

01:05:09.561 --> 01:05:10.581
we took six off them.

01:05:11.101 --> 01:05:12.501
And their season kind of

01:05:12.521 --> 01:05:13.581
fell apart after that.

01:05:15.123 --> 01:05:17.123
I'm not as confident as what

01:05:17.164 --> 01:05:18.264
I would normally be,

01:05:19.284 --> 01:05:21.206
simply because I think...

01:05:22.096 --> 01:05:23.016
their manager will be

01:05:23.056 --> 01:05:23.856
putting across to the

01:05:23.876 --> 01:05:26.518
players that they kind of owe us one.

01:05:28.599 --> 01:05:29.460
I think it's going to be an

01:05:29.701 --> 01:05:33.222
awful lot closer than maybe

01:05:33.242 --> 01:05:34.784
a lot of the Celtic support are thinking.

01:05:36.005 --> 01:05:36.405
In fact,

01:05:36.465 --> 01:05:38.746
I'm thinking maybe even extra time

01:05:38.786 --> 01:05:39.407
on penalties.

01:05:40.487 --> 01:05:42.389
I'm not at all confident on this one.

01:05:43.190 --> 01:05:43.769
Okay, fair enough.

01:05:43.789 --> 01:05:44.351
What about you, Hector?

01:05:48.329 --> 01:05:49.431
it's interesting thinking

01:05:49.451 --> 01:05:50.690
about this one this is

01:05:50.751 --> 01:05:51.992
probably Aberdeen's biggest

01:05:52.052 --> 01:05:54.773
game in maybe a decade the

01:05:54.813 --> 01:05:56.373
reason for that is it's not

01:05:56.393 --> 01:05:57.713
just winning a trophy for

01:05:57.753 --> 01:05:58.454
the first time in a long

01:05:58.494 --> 01:05:59.653
time but they'll be

01:05:59.673 --> 01:06:01.574
guaranteed European group stage football

01:06:02.454 --> 01:06:03.476
if they win the scottish cup

01:06:04.117 --> 01:06:05.237
on saturday and that must

01:06:05.277 --> 01:06:06.318
be worth several million

01:06:06.358 --> 01:06:07.199
pounds even if it's the

01:06:07.219 --> 01:06:09.041
conference league right so

01:06:09.101 --> 01:06:10.463
this is this is massive for

01:06:10.483 --> 01:06:12.264
them so I think I'll be

01:06:12.304 --> 01:06:14.387
amazed if we don't see one

01:06:14.407 --> 01:06:15.588
of their best performances

01:06:15.648 --> 01:06:17.230
in quite some time come

01:06:17.250 --> 01:06:18.871
saturday right based upon

01:06:18.911 --> 01:06:21.675
that but turning his head a

01:06:21.695 --> 01:06:23.036
bit we went up there

01:06:24.081 --> 01:06:25.882
week ago and played the best

01:06:25.922 --> 01:06:28.204
part of our reserve team

01:06:28.905 --> 01:06:30.385
and beat them five one it

01:06:30.405 --> 01:06:31.065
could have been could have

01:06:31.085 --> 01:06:32.847
been more I think the only

01:06:32.867 --> 01:06:33.887
thing that might hinder us

01:06:33.947 --> 01:06:35.047
on saturday the only thing

01:06:35.527 --> 01:06:36.389
would be the occasion

01:06:36.969 --> 01:06:38.289
sometimes I've gone for a

01:06:38.329 --> 01:06:40.190
treble a cup final don't

01:06:40.210 --> 01:06:41.672
care who you are one or two

01:06:41.692 --> 01:06:43.512
players may be nervous make

01:06:43.572 --> 01:06:44.592
no play their game that's

01:06:44.612 --> 01:06:45.494
the only thing it's human

01:06:45.873 --> 01:06:46.434
Right?

01:06:46.454 --> 01:06:47.275
Not every player gets a

01:06:47.295 --> 01:06:48.376
chance to play for a treble

01:06:49.096 --> 01:06:50.036
in front of fifty thousand

01:06:50.077 --> 01:06:50.998
fans at the end of the season.

01:06:51.018 --> 01:06:53.318
I think the good thing for us is Rodgers,

01:06:53.338 --> 01:06:53.780
the manager.

01:06:54.119 --> 01:06:55.101
He tends to be able to just

01:06:55.280 --> 01:06:56.641
be quite calm with the

01:06:56.661 --> 01:06:58.963
players and talk them through.

01:06:58.983 --> 01:07:02.266
So I expect us to win on Saturday.

01:07:04.246 --> 01:07:04.867
Interesting enough,

01:07:05.088 --> 01:07:06.588
for those of us who are overseas,

01:07:06.929 --> 01:07:07.550
I've seen Scotland,

01:07:07.590 --> 01:07:08.670
it's been non-stop sunshine

01:07:08.690 --> 01:07:10.293
for about three years now, right?

01:07:10.572 --> 01:07:12.213
But apparently it's raining on Saturday,

01:07:12.454 --> 01:07:13.434
isn't it?

01:07:14.936 --> 01:07:16.157
The car park will be covered.

01:07:16.498 --> 01:07:18.659
It's been mental, hasn't it?

01:07:18.699 --> 01:07:20.260
It's been hot and dry for, like,

01:07:20.280 --> 01:07:20.882
fucking ages.

01:07:21.322 --> 01:07:22.382
So what was I going with that one?

01:07:22.443 --> 01:07:23.784
I've no real idea why I mentioned that.

01:07:24.184 --> 01:07:26.927
But I think we'll beat them.

01:07:28.389 --> 01:07:30.469
Karen, I don't think we'll wallop them.

01:07:31.050 --> 01:07:31.311
Obviously,

01:07:31.331 --> 01:07:32.811
I hope that you're right and I'm wrong.

01:07:33.251 --> 01:07:34.273
I think we'll maybe beat

01:07:34.293 --> 01:07:37.534
them by two goals.

01:07:37.554 --> 01:07:37.815
Two?

01:07:37.875 --> 01:07:39.916
You're such a bunch of pessimists.

01:07:43.418 --> 01:07:43.780
Come on, Gary.

01:07:43.800 --> 01:07:45.280
I'll be even more pessimistic.

01:07:45.621 --> 01:07:46.201
I was talking about this

01:07:46.221 --> 01:07:47.402
game of day and I said,

01:07:47.442 --> 01:07:49.083
find this Celtic-Aberdeen tradition.

01:07:49.844 --> 01:07:51.646
I think Aberdeen will score first.

01:07:51.666 --> 01:07:52.806
I think it will be like the

01:07:52.847 --> 01:07:54.027
Roderick final idea.

01:07:54.527 --> 01:07:55.528
Aberdeen will score first.

01:07:55.548 --> 01:07:56.469
We will do the usual,

01:07:56.610 --> 01:07:58.431
possibly put a corner and

01:07:58.451 --> 01:07:59.371
somehow they'll win the

01:07:59.391 --> 01:08:00.333
second ball and score.

01:08:00.753 --> 01:08:01.514
And then we'll have to

01:08:01.554 --> 01:08:02.775
suddenly come alive again.

01:08:02.815 --> 01:08:03.755
Somebody will have to grab

01:08:04.376 --> 01:08:05.177
the game with the foot and

01:08:05.197 --> 01:08:06.978
neck and then get the two-one.

01:08:06.998 --> 01:08:08.259
My wife always picks two-one,

01:08:08.298 --> 01:08:09.740
so that will be my bet.

01:08:10.181 --> 01:08:11.322
So we will bet on two-one.

01:08:11.661 --> 01:08:13.844
But again, I would hope three-one,

01:08:14.123 --> 01:08:14.684
to be honest.

01:08:15.144 --> 01:08:16.765
But again, it depends.

01:08:17.266 --> 01:08:17.907
I actually think it will

01:08:17.926 --> 01:08:18.768
depend on the ref.

01:08:19.161 --> 01:08:20.161
How lenient is he going to

01:08:20.201 --> 01:08:20.841
be with that big?

01:08:21.402 --> 01:08:23.063
Is it Papi Gouy,

01:08:23.103 --> 01:08:24.462
who has battled Hatati

01:08:24.502 --> 01:08:25.543
across the pitch gallery,

01:08:26.003 --> 01:08:26.724
and then Shinny?

01:08:26.764 --> 01:08:28.024
You know what I mean?

01:08:28.085 --> 01:08:30.525
How much the referee lets him away early?

01:08:30.985 --> 01:08:33.707
That'll be interesting.

01:08:33.726 --> 01:08:34.967
There might be an indication

01:08:34.988 --> 01:08:36.028
of their attitude with the

01:08:36.047 --> 01:08:37.309
way they dealt with Hatati

01:08:37.429 --> 01:08:38.088
in the last game.

01:08:39.069 --> 01:08:39.850
But he tried it on a few,

01:08:39.869 --> 01:08:40.871
because at one point,

01:08:40.890 --> 01:08:42.211
I don't know if it is.

01:08:42.751 --> 01:08:43.452
There was somebody,

01:08:43.492 --> 01:08:44.492
I can't remember if it was

01:08:44.572 --> 01:08:46.493
McGregor or Johnson,

01:08:46.533 --> 01:08:48.713
but somebody on the bottom corner

01:08:49.604 --> 01:08:50.244
was pointing,

01:08:50.586 --> 01:08:51.485
basically pointing a finger

01:08:51.506 --> 01:08:52.827
in his face as I know you

01:08:52.846 --> 01:08:53.488
were up to there,

01:08:53.707 --> 01:08:54.689
as if he was trying to

01:08:54.729 --> 01:08:55.729
leave one on somebody

01:08:55.789 --> 01:08:56.649
earlier in the game before

01:08:56.689 --> 01:08:57.650
he'd done a tatty.

01:08:57.890 --> 01:08:59.572
See, that's one of my concerns is Rio.

01:09:00.153 --> 01:09:01.212
We talked on the podcast

01:09:01.333 --> 01:09:02.134
recently about that.

01:09:02.634 --> 01:09:03.715
When Rio plays, we play.

01:09:04.376 --> 01:09:05.476
When Rio's invisible,

01:09:05.617 --> 01:09:06.617
we tend to be invisible and

01:09:06.636 --> 01:09:07.518
tend to have creativity.

01:09:08.018 --> 01:09:08.479
And it's been,

01:09:08.498 --> 01:09:10.100
I think Roger has asked recently about it,

01:09:10.119 --> 01:09:11.560
because since we go to one game a week,

01:09:12.362 --> 01:09:12.862
he's just,

01:09:13.002 --> 01:09:14.122
he struggles with three games a week.

01:09:14.222 --> 01:09:15.023
It's just how it is.

01:09:15.042 --> 01:09:15.543
But the one that we,

01:09:15.684 --> 01:09:16.585
he's just been brilliant.

01:09:17.244 --> 01:09:18.405
And I think who comes in,

01:09:18.445 --> 01:09:19.067
it's either going to be

01:09:19.087 --> 01:09:21.029
obviously Bernardo or McEwan,

01:09:21.509 --> 01:09:23.872
but they're not the same quality at Rio.

01:09:23.891 --> 01:09:25.273
They're not that number ten

01:09:25.292 --> 01:09:26.253
who picks the pass.

01:09:26.954 --> 01:09:28.815
And that's an interesting one.

01:09:29.216 --> 01:09:29.957
Who plays there?

01:09:30.438 --> 01:09:31.819
And then does somebody else

01:09:31.838 --> 01:09:32.899
have to be a bit more

01:09:33.201 --> 01:09:34.502
creative within the team?

01:09:34.881 --> 01:09:36.304
Does Calmec go forward a bit more?

01:09:36.404 --> 01:09:36.944
I'm not sure.

01:09:37.324 --> 01:09:38.765
Because Bernardo is maybe

01:09:38.805 --> 01:09:40.167
more a six player.

01:09:40.768 --> 01:09:41.648
If that makes sense.

01:09:41.929 --> 01:09:43.109
Does Engels push up one to

01:09:43.128 --> 01:09:44.949
become the ten and Bernardo

01:09:44.989 --> 01:09:45.670
becomes the ten?

01:09:45.770 --> 01:09:46.210
I don't know.

01:09:46.590 --> 01:09:47.310
But I think Willow,

01:09:47.350 --> 01:09:47.990
the way he's been playing

01:09:48.011 --> 01:09:49.872
the last few weeks, that creativity,

01:09:49.912 --> 01:09:51.152
that's going to be a miss.

01:09:51.171 --> 01:09:51.332
Right,

01:09:54.094 --> 01:09:56.154
before we go into our last Scottish

01:09:56.194 --> 01:09:57.994
Cup item, I do have a Scottish Cup quiz.

01:09:58.574 --> 01:09:59.935
But we've only got five questions,

01:09:59.956 --> 01:10:01.237
so we've only got two questions each.

01:10:01.676 --> 01:10:03.738
So, Karen, I'll give you the choice again.

01:10:03.757 --> 01:10:06.019
Do you want to go one, two, three,

01:10:06.059 --> 01:10:07.698
four or five?

01:10:07.738 --> 01:10:09.000
Let's go number five.

01:10:10.094 --> 01:10:11.914
Okay, tough one this.

01:10:11.994 --> 01:10:13.034
I'll give you two points if

01:10:13.055 --> 01:10:15.636
you get within two years,

01:10:16.176 --> 01:10:17.076
and I'll give you five

01:10:17.115 --> 01:10:18.176
points if you get it exact.

01:10:18.197 --> 01:10:18.777
Right, so there you go.

01:10:18.796 --> 01:10:19.697
You could win the quiz on

01:10:19.716 --> 01:10:20.577
this question alone.

01:10:21.438 --> 01:10:23.677
When was the last time, year-wise,

01:10:24.338 --> 01:10:25.878
Rangers matched Celtic

01:10:25.958 --> 01:10:27.840
number of Scottish Cup wins?

01:10:27.859 --> 01:10:29.760
Oh, for goodness sakes.

01:10:29.939 --> 01:10:31.121
Well, you picked number five.

01:10:31.320 --> 01:10:33.301
I can't help you here.

01:10:33.360 --> 01:10:35.101
Nineteen... Nope.

01:10:35.841 --> 01:10:36.362
There you go.

01:10:36.381 --> 01:10:38.222
I'll take your second answer.

01:10:40.882 --> 01:10:41.904
Right.

01:10:43.484 --> 01:10:45.206
Let's see.

01:10:45.246 --> 01:10:45.985
Twenty eleven.

01:10:47.087 --> 01:10:48.127
Okay.

01:10:48.228 --> 01:10:49.068
Any other guesses?

01:10:49.108 --> 01:10:50.288
Twenty eleven is incorrect.

01:10:51.222 --> 01:10:52.923
Hector or Ralph, do you steal a point?

01:10:53.564 --> 01:10:55.506
Two thousand and three.

01:10:56.746 --> 01:10:57.247
Ralph?

01:10:58.386 --> 01:10:59.868
Eighteen seventy-seven.

01:11:00.708 --> 01:11:02.789
Two thousand and three is correct, Hector.

01:11:02.869 --> 01:11:04.030
Well done for tapping into

01:11:04.051 --> 01:11:05.412
my computer once again.

01:11:05.471 --> 01:11:06.431
You've done well there.

01:11:08.153 --> 01:11:09.953
Okay, Ralph, what do you want?

01:11:10.113 --> 01:11:11.274
One, two, three or four?

01:11:12.456 --> 01:11:12.775
Three.

01:11:13.556 --> 01:11:14.436
Three, okay.

01:11:14.737 --> 01:11:15.797
Who's the odd one out?

01:11:16.780 --> 01:11:20.101
Celtic, Hearts, Hibs, Partick, Thistle,

01:11:20.381 --> 01:11:21.523
Rangers, St.

01:11:21.563 --> 01:11:22.023
Johnson.

01:11:23.143 --> 01:11:23.823
And why?

01:11:23.943 --> 01:11:25.564
An extra point and you can tell me why.

01:11:25.724 --> 01:11:27.503
Who's the odd one out and why?

01:11:31.005 --> 01:11:31.605
Partick.

01:11:32.086 --> 01:11:35.587
Celtic, Hearts, Hibs, Partick, Rangers,

01:11:35.766 --> 01:11:36.006
St.

01:11:36.046 --> 01:11:36.506
Johnson.

01:11:38.228 --> 01:11:38.768
Partick.

01:11:39.988 --> 01:11:40.708
Any other guesses?

01:11:40.729 --> 01:11:42.689
Any other guesses?

01:11:42.729 --> 01:11:42.929
Celtic.

01:11:47.708 --> 01:11:49.069
The answer is Celtic.

01:11:49.551 --> 01:11:50.971
The only one out of our list

01:11:51.192 --> 01:11:52.092
never to have won the

01:11:52.132 --> 01:11:56.155
Scottish Cup at Celtic Park.

01:11:56.176 --> 01:11:57.117
There you go.

01:11:57.197 --> 01:11:57.976
The rest of them have won.

01:11:58.037 --> 01:11:59.337
They lost the final at Celtic Park.

01:11:59.738 --> 01:12:00.519
Okay, Hector.

01:12:01.359 --> 01:12:02.381
One, two, four.

01:12:02.400 --> 01:12:04.882
Four.

01:12:04.903 --> 01:12:05.743
True or false?

01:12:06.444 --> 01:12:07.685
The Scottish Cup was the

01:12:07.744 --> 01:12:10.106
first major trophy won by Celtic.

01:12:14.019 --> 01:12:14.680
Oh,

01:12:14.960 --> 01:12:16.400
so I think the Scottish Cup was going

01:12:16.421 --> 01:12:16.940
for about what?

01:12:17.761 --> 01:12:18.922
It's about the eighteen seventies.

01:12:19.443 --> 01:12:20.644
So we were eighteen eighty eight.

01:12:20.663 --> 01:12:22.305
The league was the nineteen nineties.

01:12:22.966 --> 01:12:26.149
Oh, false.

01:12:27.172 --> 01:12:27.873
Any other guesses?

01:12:27.894 --> 01:12:30.496
It was.

01:12:30.515 --> 01:12:31.355
Karen said true.

01:12:31.376 --> 01:12:32.096
Well done, Karen.

01:12:32.117 --> 01:12:34.198
Yeah, true.

01:12:34.297 --> 01:12:34.918
It was true.

01:12:34.958 --> 01:12:36.399
Very good reason, Hector.

01:12:36.439 --> 01:12:38.220
You're right.

01:12:38.360 --> 01:12:39.101
It was very good.

01:12:39.122 --> 01:12:41.484
It was, yes, at eighteen and eighty-two,

01:12:41.524 --> 01:12:41.863
Hector.

01:12:41.904 --> 01:12:43.145
So I liked your timings there.

01:12:43.484 --> 01:12:44.805
At Ibrox, no less.

01:12:45.265 --> 01:12:46.447
It was the first ever table,

01:12:46.527 --> 01:12:47.467
the Scottish Cup,

01:12:47.488 --> 01:12:49.368
the Glasgow Cup and the Charity Cup.

01:12:49.930 --> 01:12:50.350
Right.

01:12:50.390 --> 01:12:53.351
So we'll let Karen steam ahead.

01:12:53.773 --> 01:12:55.533
Karen, one or two?

01:12:57.195 --> 01:12:58.197
Number one.

01:12:58.216 --> 01:12:59.796
Which Celtic beat two teams

01:12:59.837 --> 01:13:01.177
five-nil on the way to the

01:13:01.217 --> 01:13:02.337
Scottish Cup final?

01:13:02.878 --> 01:13:06.960
Can you name them?

01:13:07.400 --> 01:13:08.161
Wraith Rovers.

01:13:08.180 --> 01:13:08.280
Sorry?

01:13:08.301 --> 01:13:08.621
Wraith Rovers.

01:13:08.761 --> 01:13:09.180
Correct.

01:13:09.442 --> 01:13:10.561
And you should know the other one.

01:13:10.582 --> 01:13:12.523
We've discussed them a fair bit.

01:13:12.622 --> 01:13:13.222
St Johnstone.

01:13:13.462 --> 01:13:13.903
Correct.

01:13:13.962 --> 01:13:14.503
Well done.

01:13:14.604 --> 01:13:16.864
So, Ralph, final question for you.

01:13:17.305 --> 01:13:18.985
Who scored Celtic's first

01:13:19.286 --> 01:13:21.087
and Celtic's last goal in

01:13:21.207 --> 01:13:22.827
this year's Scottish Cup campaign?

01:13:23.408 --> 01:13:24.328
Two different players.

01:13:29.038 --> 01:13:30.198
Who scored the last goal?

01:13:31.500 --> 01:13:33.600
I'm getting the Falkirk League Cup,

01:13:33.640 --> 01:13:35.360
wasn't it?

01:13:36.201 --> 01:13:36.940
The last goal.

01:13:39.021 --> 01:13:39.761
Bobby Lennox.

01:13:40.462 --> 01:13:41.162
Okay, correct.

01:13:41.983 --> 01:13:43.122
Hector Carney, the idea.

01:13:43.143 --> 01:13:46.243
Jota get the last goal.

01:13:46.264 --> 01:13:47.545
Well done, Jota get the last one.

01:13:48.005 --> 01:13:48.885
Jota get the last one.

01:13:48.965 --> 01:13:49.945
Who scored the first one?

01:13:50.666 --> 01:13:51.586
Who did play in the first round,

01:13:51.605 --> 01:13:52.166
the third round?

01:13:52.265 --> 01:13:53.306
Whatever round it was in January.

01:13:53.487 --> 01:13:54.127
Who was it we played?

01:13:54.207 --> 01:13:56.448
He's a clue.

01:13:56.787 --> 01:13:57.427
Plastic Pitch.

01:14:00.094 --> 01:14:00.994
Wasn't it Kamala, was it?

01:14:01.114 --> 01:14:02.076
It might have been.

01:14:02.256 --> 01:14:03.356
It was Kamala.

01:14:04.578 --> 01:14:05.658
It was, aye.

01:14:05.779 --> 01:14:07.479
One of your beloved players, Hector.

01:14:07.640 --> 01:14:08.902
One of your beloved players.

01:14:09.341 --> 01:14:10.283
I love them all, Daisy.

01:14:12.440 --> 01:14:14.422
It was, of course, Captain Fantastic,

01:14:14.483 --> 01:14:15.024
Cal Mac.

01:14:15.083 --> 01:14:15.684
Cal Mac.

01:14:15.703 --> 01:14:16.685
If you don't love Cal Mac,

01:14:16.704 --> 01:14:17.365
there's something wrong with you.

01:14:17.405 --> 01:14:22.030
I adore Cal Mac, my favourite player.

01:14:22.051 --> 01:14:22.671
So he scored, right,

01:14:22.692 --> 01:14:23.613
so he scored there first, right.

01:14:24.033 --> 01:14:26.234
So to wrap this up, this Scottish preview,

01:14:26.274 --> 01:14:27.537
I think the Scottish Cup preview,

01:14:27.556 --> 01:14:29.297
I'm going to ask everyone,

01:14:29.658 --> 01:14:30.560
what is your favourite,

01:14:30.600 --> 01:14:33.181
my favourite Scottish Cup moment is?

01:14:34.323 --> 01:14:35.744
karen right in front of me

01:14:35.765 --> 01:14:37.126
that's shy um right no it's

01:14:37.225 --> 01:14:38.947
it's tom rogich easily um

01:14:38.966 --> 01:14:40.849
two reasons because it was

01:14:40.868 --> 01:14:42.229
such an iconic goal

01:14:57.907 --> 01:14:59.507
And the second thing was he

01:14:59.547 --> 01:15:00.649
ran right over to where me

01:15:00.668 --> 01:15:01.429
and my brother were.

01:15:01.989 --> 01:15:02.930
And to get to share that

01:15:02.989 --> 01:15:04.150
moment with my brother,

01:15:04.810 --> 01:15:05.671
living with forever,

01:15:05.832 --> 01:15:07.412
it was absolutely amazing.

01:15:08.052 --> 01:15:09.734
Loved it.

01:15:09.793 --> 01:15:10.755
That's really interesting

01:15:10.774 --> 01:15:11.534
you said that there.

01:15:12.716 --> 01:15:14.096
Because he runs over,

01:15:14.136 --> 01:15:15.216
so I'll need to look at the

01:15:15.256 --> 01:15:15.957
coverage again,

01:15:15.997 --> 01:15:18.059
because he runs over and my wife,

01:15:18.359 --> 01:15:19.399
my sister and my daughter

01:15:19.840 --> 01:15:21.301
are just near the front of the crowd.

01:15:21.341 --> 01:15:22.641
So you must be running about

01:15:22.662 --> 01:15:23.922
there so I can look at you.

01:15:24.103 --> 01:15:25.863
We're a wee bit further back.

01:15:26.184 --> 01:15:28.127
We weren't down at the Mary right in front,

01:15:28.247 --> 01:15:30.411
but it was running right towards us.

01:15:30.610 --> 01:15:32.073
Do you know what I mean?

01:15:32.634 --> 01:15:35.779
But it was just one of the

01:15:35.819 --> 01:15:37.081
beautiful moments, you know,

01:15:37.201 --> 01:15:38.082
James' category.

01:15:38.854 --> 01:15:41.315
I was talking today about Saturday's game.

01:15:41.336 --> 01:15:42.697
Hector mentioned it might be

01:15:42.716 --> 01:15:43.617
raining on Saturday.

01:15:44.037 --> 01:15:44.738
And I was saying,

01:15:44.757 --> 01:15:46.118
I've never been so soaked.

01:15:46.298 --> 01:15:48.260
I'm like five minutes from Hamden,

01:15:48.279 --> 01:15:49.060
as Hector knows.

01:15:49.701 --> 01:15:51.381
And me and my daughter left the house,

01:15:51.822 --> 01:15:53.242
got to the corner, Hector,

01:15:53.743 --> 01:15:54.882
and the rain just came down

01:15:54.903 --> 01:15:56.283
like a Florida thunderstorm.

01:15:56.823 --> 01:15:58.385
When I got into Hamden,

01:15:58.845 --> 01:16:00.587
I had to take my top off

01:16:00.686 --> 01:16:02.207
and wring it out.

01:16:02.328 --> 01:16:03.908
It was like a tropical day.

01:16:03.929 --> 01:16:07.192
That must have been a sight for sore eyes.

01:16:08.072 --> 01:16:09.913
I did apologise earlier when

01:16:09.953 --> 01:16:10.833
I was talking about it.

01:16:10.953 --> 01:16:11.213
I thought,

01:16:11.274 --> 01:16:15.016
I pity anybody who had to look at that.

01:16:15.056 --> 01:16:16.557
But it was unbelievable.

01:16:17.418 --> 01:16:19.119
And then Roderick comes on and does that.

01:16:19.300 --> 01:16:19.921
It's amazing.

01:16:20.301 --> 01:16:21.981
What about you, Val?

01:16:22.002 --> 01:16:23.323
What about your favourite

01:16:23.342 --> 01:16:24.644
Scottish Cup final moment?

01:16:26.158 --> 01:16:27.259
Nineteen eighty.

01:16:28.760 --> 01:16:29.520
Danny McGrain.

01:16:30.020 --> 01:16:31.520
Danny McGrain scored on the winner.

01:16:31.600 --> 01:16:32.942
I know it hit Jordan.

01:16:33.061 --> 01:16:34.243
I'm on way on that one.

01:16:34.582 --> 01:16:35.644
That was Danny McGrain.

01:16:37.244 --> 01:16:38.746
That was one of the games

01:16:38.786 --> 01:16:39.845
where he could have won it anyway.

01:16:41.167 --> 01:16:41.487
I know.

01:16:41.567 --> 01:16:42.648
I read the story about that

01:16:42.728 --> 01:16:43.668
in the day that game.

01:16:43.908 --> 01:16:45.229
Because that is one of my

01:16:45.369 --> 01:16:46.810
earlier memories like that game,

01:16:46.831 --> 01:16:48.291
the whole riot game, etc.

01:16:48.771 --> 01:16:51.412
And my pal, God bless him, Joe,

01:16:51.814 --> 01:16:53.194
his brother is literally

01:16:53.314 --> 01:16:54.215
one of the first Celtic

01:16:54.255 --> 01:16:55.595
fans you see fighting on the pitch.

01:16:57.386 --> 01:16:59.127
But that game, I remember Danny McGrain,

01:16:59.368 --> 01:17:00.668
I was reading about it today,

01:17:00.689 --> 01:17:01.550
and Danny McGrain said he

01:17:01.570 --> 01:17:02.752
was trying to kick the ball out.

01:17:02.872 --> 01:17:04.274
So I don't know if he was just saying that,

01:17:04.314 --> 01:17:06.496
but he said they were all shattered.

01:17:06.555 --> 01:17:07.557
They were all shattered.

01:17:08.018 --> 01:17:09.159
And he said he was trying to

01:17:09.180 --> 01:17:09.819
kick the ball out,

01:17:09.920 --> 01:17:11.141
rather than hitting the

01:17:11.181 --> 01:17:12.604
corner flag with a shot, remember?

01:17:14.145 --> 01:17:16.466
it was gone anyway and it

01:17:16.485 --> 01:17:17.966
was just a looting what do

01:17:17.987 --> 01:17:18.707
you call them the Girvan

01:17:18.747 --> 01:17:20.068
shite house it was a

01:17:20.108 --> 01:17:21.609
looting his face when it

01:17:23.050 --> 01:17:23.711
went by there's an iconic

01:17:23.730 --> 01:17:25.311
photo for that iconic photo

01:17:25.351 --> 01:17:25.992
for that game and I don't

01:17:26.011 --> 01:17:26.853
mean the fight after that

01:17:27.313 --> 01:17:28.814
when obviously Danny hits

01:17:28.934 --> 01:17:30.975
it and George deflects it

01:17:31.935 --> 01:17:33.095
it's when George has set

01:17:33.115 --> 01:17:34.497
the jump in it he looks as

01:17:34.577 --> 01:17:35.637
if he's like twelve foot in

01:17:35.658 --> 01:17:37.038
there I know the camera

01:17:37.198 --> 01:17:38.460
obviously lies but it's

01:17:38.479 --> 01:17:39.900
quite an iconic photo I

01:17:39.921 --> 01:17:40.900
would go there's two of you

01:17:40.921 --> 01:17:41.742
have mentioned the

01:17:42.221 --> 01:17:43.882
The Royal Gate one is obviously up there.

01:17:44.944 --> 01:17:48.345
The two for me that are

01:17:48.365 --> 01:17:50.006
special is the Centenary double.

01:17:51.448 --> 01:17:54.149
I guarantee I've got these

01:17:54.170 --> 01:17:55.130
two written down right at

01:17:55.149 --> 01:17:56.350
the top of my list.

01:17:56.390 --> 01:17:57.971
Me and you are roughly the same.

01:17:58.112 --> 01:17:59.292
Me and United, two-one.

01:17:59.313 --> 01:18:01.373
When Kevin Gallacher scored first in it,

01:18:01.835 --> 01:18:04.296
then we came back and we

01:18:04.315 --> 01:18:05.596
won it through one.

01:18:06.738 --> 01:18:08.578
And then the other one was

01:18:09.319 --> 01:18:11.400
when we did the treble-treble.

01:18:13.421 --> 01:18:14.981
When Hart scored first, remember?

01:18:15.542 --> 01:18:17.064
And then Edouard got two.

01:18:17.784 --> 01:18:19.886
And when he put that second goal in,

01:18:20.028 --> 01:18:21.628
just dinked it over.

01:18:21.988 --> 01:18:23.930
And I was pushing doing that

01:18:23.951 --> 01:18:25.773
with him as well, wasn't it?

01:18:25.872 --> 01:18:27.034
And that was the treble-treble.

01:18:27.074 --> 01:18:29.377
And that was a great day.

01:18:29.716 --> 01:18:30.938
What a night it was as well.

01:18:31.118 --> 01:18:33.201
So a special mention for that one.

01:18:33.220 --> 01:18:34.822
Was that the disrespectful

01:18:34.862 --> 01:18:36.304
penalty from Edouard?

01:18:36.323 --> 01:18:36.404
Yeah.

01:18:37.556 --> 01:18:39.756
The one that Gordon tried to

01:18:39.777 --> 01:18:41.018
hit him with the ball afterwards.

01:18:42.497 --> 01:18:43.118
Was that a link-up?

01:18:43.137 --> 01:18:46.479
That was the quadruple treble.

01:18:46.538 --> 01:18:47.298
I remember that one.

01:18:47.319 --> 01:18:49.019
That was a penalty shoot-out

01:18:49.319 --> 01:18:53.060
against Harps.

01:18:53.180 --> 01:18:54.239
An empty stadium, that one.

01:18:54.300 --> 01:18:56.020
So, Hector, exactly as you said here,

01:18:56.060 --> 01:18:58.581
so I did have, in the year,

01:18:58.621 --> 01:19:00.180
Kevin Gallagher's sprint shot,

01:19:00.600 --> 01:19:01.981
Frank McIverney, two-one,

01:19:02.042 --> 01:19:02.921
but then I've got here,

01:19:02.942 --> 01:19:04.362
right next to Thatcher,

01:19:05.020 --> 01:19:06.680
And one of the highlights for that, for me,

01:19:06.701 --> 01:19:07.442
will always be,

01:19:07.542 --> 01:19:09.143
I'll never have a bad word

01:19:09.323 --> 01:19:11.904
to say against the man, Big Mike McCarthy,

01:19:12.125 --> 01:19:13.024
snubbing Thatcher.

01:19:13.926 --> 01:19:14.445
I mean, like,

01:19:14.945 --> 01:19:16.306
my father would fucking turn

01:19:16.367 --> 01:19:17.828
in his grave if I dared

01:19:18.207 --> 01:19:19.288
look that woman in the eye.

01:19:19.748 --> 01:19:21.730
I mean, so I've always loved him for that.

01:19:22.251 --> 01:19:22.631
And then,

01:19:22.810 --> 01:19:24.813
in the year of the David Proven free kick,

01:19:25.172 --> 01:19:26.094
could this be history?

01:19:26.113 --> 01:19:26.453
Yes, yes.

01:19:27.975 --> 01:19:29.576
I remember lying in Tony Glenn,

01:19:29.615 --> 01:19:31.516
lying on the flair, watching the telly,

01:19:31.537 --> 01:19:32.337
watching that game.

01:19:32.618 --> 01:19:34.559
And then Frank McGarvey's iconic header,

01:19:37.065 --> 01:19:38.286
He knew he was getting sold

01:19:38.365 --> 01:19:39.246
after that as well.

01:19:39.546 --> 01:19:40.667
It was the look on his face

01:19:40.686 --> 01:19:41.426
when he ran away.

01:19:42.587 --> 01:19:43.787
McGarvey knew that was the

01:19:44.007 --> 01:19:45.028
end of his Celtic career.

01:19:45.268 --> 01:19:47.128
There's one that deserves an

01:19:47.269 --> 01:19:48.829
honourable mention and that

01:19:48.869 --> 01:19:53.331
was Pierre Van Huydonk after the drought.

01:19:54.452 --> 01:19:55.952
I can tell you exactly where

01:19:56.032 --> 01:19:56.971
I was that day, Ralph.

01:19:57.032 --> 01:19:59.252
It's on my list here.

01:19:59.372 --> 01:20:01.793
I was at university in France and

01:20:02.132 --> 01:20:04.033
I had to listen to Radio Five Live,

01:20:04.054 --> 01:20:05.213
whatever it was at the time,

01:20:06.213 --> 01:20:07.895
next to a basketball court

01:20:07.914 --> 01:20:09.175
where a bunch of guys or a

01:20:09.215 --> 01:20:10.615
bunch of folk were playing basketball.

01:20:10.676 --> 01:20:11.695
And I was trying to get them

01:20:11.716 --> 01:20:13.317
to keep quiet so I could

01:20:13.337 --> 01:20:14.577
kind of get updates on the

01:20:14.596 --> 01:20:16.658
score for Selick versus Erdre.

01:20:17.738 --> 01:20:19.099
So that's on my list.

01:20:19.139 --> 01:20:19.819
As Hector said,

01:20:19.838 --> 01:20:21.179
mine will always be Joe Muller.

01:20:21.198 --> 01:20:22.239
My dad died that week.

01:20:22.260 --> 01:20:23.460
My dad was called Joe.

01:20:24.224 --> 01:20:25.805
Everything was this focused

01:20:25.824 --> 01:20:26.765
towards that final.

01:20:26.805 --> 01:20:28.747
We'd all been to the final the year before,

01:20:28.766 --> 01:20:29.948
a couple of years before,

01:20:29.988 --> 01:20:31.149
and then that will always

01:20:31.168 --> 01:20:32.048
be my favourite goal,

01:20:32.069 --> 01:20:33.329
my favourite moment in football,

01:20:33.710 --> 01:20:34.490
Joe Muller's goal.

01:20:34.551 --> 01:20:36.891
And I've just got here, Big Roy's shy,

01:20:37.372 --> 01:20:38.753
and also when he kicks the ball.

01:20:38.774 --> 01:20:41.375
Remember that time when he kicks the ball?

01:20:42.076 --> 01:20:43.436
It landed in my house in Tory Glen.

01:20:43.457 --> 01:20:43.856
It was that fun.

01:20:43.896 --> 01:20:44.556
It was unbelievable.

01:20:46.337 --> 01:20:47.158
See if you've seen it,

01:20:47.439 --> 01:20:48.340
see your three listeners a

01:20:48.380 --> 01:20:49.520
year and they've seen it, go to YouTube,

01:20:49.560 --> 01:20:50.640
right, and Big Roy,

01:20:50.701 --> 01:20:51.881
it's the last minute of the

01:20:51.940 --> 01:20:52.841
Eighty-Nine Cup final,

01:20:53.242 --> 01:20:54.143
and there wasn't any

01:20:54.182 --> 01:20:55.944
multiple balls about at the time, right?

01:20:56.384 --> 01:20:57.984
He's down towards the corner flag,

01:20:58.484 --> 01:21:00.886
and he just, like a massive towboat,

01:21:01.025 --> 01:21:01.966
launches it, didn't he?

01:21:02.306 --> 01:21:03.768
Away on the track towards the Celtic end.

01:21:03.787 --> 01:21:04.747
It's the way he jogs back, man, remember?

01:21:04.807 --> 01:21:05.228
He rattles it,

01:21:05.247 --> 01:21:06.448
and then... He starts jogging back, so...

01:21:10.070 --> 01:21:11.771
That's forty-five settings wasted.

01:21:11.953 --> 01:21:13.054
And it was like, and again,

01:21:13.434 --> 01:21:14.574
Tommy Game always talks

01:21:14.595 --> 01:21:15.716
about doing that in Lisbon.

01:21:16.076 --> 01:21:16.877
He always talks about there

01:21:16.896 --> 01:21:17.577
was something happened in

01:21:17.617 --> 01:21:18.778
Lisbon and I'll be a free kick.

01:21:19.219 --> 01:21:19.759
And somebody,

01:21:19.798 --> 01:21:21.079
when he's lined up with free kick,

01:21:21.100 --> 01:21:22.581
he goes, are you aiming for a tap corner?

01:21:22.600 --> 01:21:22.841
He went,

01:21:22.902 --> 01:21:24.922
I'm aiming for Rose Ed just to get

01:21:24.943 --> 01:21:26.024
rid of the ball he killed

01:21:26.083 --> 01:21:26.784
in ninety seconds.

01:21:27.164 --> 01:21:28.345
so I had that then at andy

01:21:28.364 --> 01:21:29.985
lynch's penalty I had that

01:21:30.006 --> 01:21:30.645
there and then george

01:21:30.685 --> 01:21:32.726
mccluskey and big bear but

01:21:32.747 --> 01:21:34.046
the earliest memory I'll go

01:21:34.067 --> 01:21:34.927
I don't know if you hate

01:21:34.948 --> 01:21:36.127
that we have similar ages

01:21:36.228 --> 01:21:38.569
and carl ralph you can chip

01:21:38.609 --> 01:21:39.849
in the earliest scottish

01:21:39.868 --> 01:21:41.130
cup memory I've got was

01:21:41.189 --> 01:21:45.171
billy mcneil's I remember

01:21:45.190 --> 01:21:46.091
it was just me my mom in

01:21:46.112 --> 01:21:46.891
the house because my dad

01:21:46.912 --> 01:21:48.051
was at the game my brother

01:21:48.591 --> 01:21:50.092
and I remember walking in there was maybe

01:21:50.828 --> 01:21:51.889
seven or eight went in and

01:21:51.929 --> 01:21:53.130
walked in and kind of seen

01:21:53.489 --> 01:21:54.331
this telly and they were

01:21:54.390 --> 01:21:56.073
all around Billy McNeil.

01:21:56.113 --> 01:21:56.932
I knew something was

01:21:56.953 --> 01:21:57.793
happening but I didn't

01:21:57.814 --> 01:21:59.255
really know what it was.

01:21:59.274 --> 01:22:01.117
They had him up the shoulders.

01:22:01.256 --> 01:22:03.238
Something's happening here

01:22:03.779 --> 01:22:04.840
and that's my earliest

01:22:04.859 --> 01:22:06.421
Scottish Cup memory.

01:22:06.541 --> 01:22:08.783
It's mine as well but not for that reason.

01:22:08.802 --> 01:22:10.003
It was because Paul Wilson

01:22:10.024 --> 01:22:11.725
scored two goals and that

01:22:11.765 --> 01:22:12.846
just always stuck with me

01:22:13.346 --> 01:22:15.288
and he became my first favourite player.

01:22:17.167 --> 01:22:17.609
You know what?

01:22:17.628 --> 01:22:19.029
That's a guy that never gets

01:22:19.069 --> 01:22:20.590
a mention that he deserves.

01:22:20.810 --> 01:22:21.791
It's Paul Wilson.

01:22:22.190 --> 01:22:23.832
Because I kind of obviously

01:22:23.851 --> 01:22:25.311
grew up with the same kind

01:22:25.332 --> 01:22:26.672
of team as you did.

01:22:26.712 --> 01:22:28.314
And Paul Wilson was kind of a hero.

01:22:28.634 --> 01:22:29.654
He was a winger.

01:22:30.175 --> 01:22:32.336
That boy Dalglish wasn't up to his level.

01:22:32.895 --> 01:22:34.277
But he'd never get the

01:22:34.296 --> 01:22:36.016
praise or anything that he deserved.

01:22:36.518 --> 01:22:37.717
Wilson, Deans, Dalglish.

01:22:37.898 --> 01:22:39.918
That was the kind of first

01:22:39.958 --> 01:22:40.840
front line I remember.

01:22:41.859 --> 01:22:45.380
This before I forget, you just remember,

01:22:45.680 --> 01:22:46.680
did any of you see the

01:22:46.720 --> 01:22:47.400
picture that was going

01:22:47.440 --> 01:22:48.780
about Twitter stroke social

01:22:48.801 --> 01:22:50.322
media the other day?

01:22:50.341 --> 01:22:51.881
And it was about a bunch of

01:22:51.921 --> 01:22:53.202
English boys in Jersey

01:22:53.722 --> 01:22:55.302
offering a Scottish versus

01:22:55.363 --> 01:22:56.403
England football match.

01:22:56.802 --> 01:22:57.583
But it was like, say,

01:22:57.604 --> 01:22:59.224
in nineteen sixty eight or

01:22:59.243 --> 01:23:00.323
sixty seven or something.

01:23:00.805 --> 01:23:02.604
And it was the same kind of

01:23:02.664 --> 01:23:04.586
lease was on holiday with Alex Miller.

01:23:04.605 --> 01:23:05.506
Remember Alex Miller?

01:23:06.277 --> 01:23:07.936
the Rangers, and he's on holiday,

01:23:08.057 --> 01:23:09.238
they were best pals apparently,

01:23:09.677 --> 01:23:10.677
and so it ended up,

01:23:11.078 --> 01:23:12.359
the Scottish boys just

01:23:12.479 --> 01:23:14.238
asked these other two boys to join them,

01:23:14.719 --> 01:23:15.739
and it comes out, it says,

01:23:16.039 --> 01:23:17.800
the headline was Scotland, twenty,

01:23:17.960 --> 01:23:18.659
England, null.

01:23:18.680 --> 01:23:20.381
I don't know who,

01:23:20.701 --> 01:23:21.480
Kendall Gleeson was

01:23:21.501 --> 01:23:22.320
probably playing it in

01:23:22.360 --> 01:23:23.801
Canvas Lang or whatever at the time,

01:23:24.101 --> 01:23:25.622
but it was obviously got on

01:23:25.641 --> 01:23:26.622
the road to start them,

01:23:26.722 --> 01:23:29.122
but these boys had no idea, and finally,

01:23:29.143 --> 01:23:30.564
so Scotland, twenty, England, null,

01:23:30.604 --> 01:23:31.264
so that was nice.

01:23:31.644 --> 01:23:32.304
So there we go.

01:23:32.684 --> 01:23:33.345
So that was us.

01:23:33.364 --> 01:23:35.045
So that was the season that was.

01:23:35.225 --> 01:23:36.685
It'll be interesting to see.

01:23:36.725 --> 01:23:38.025
Hopefully the women's team

01:23:38.105 --> 01:23:39.926
get the back they deserve, Karen.

01:23:40.466 --> 01:23:41.266
We'll wait and see.

01:23:41.707 --> 01:23:42.567
Fingers crossed.

01:23:42.606 --> 01:23:44.108
Fingers, eyes, toes crossed.

01:23:44.127 --> 01:23:44.627
Who knows?

01:23:44.667 --> 01:23:45.347
Let's be honest.

01:23:45.387 --> 01:23:47.229
But not necessarily bored.

01:23:47.748 --> 01:23:51.329
Maybe more hope than actual expectation.

01:23:51.869 --> 01:23:52.850
And then Scottish Cup.

01:23:52.890 --> 01:23:54.671
Fingers crossed we get another treble,

01:23:54.711 --> 01:23:57.231
another world record-leading treble.

01:23:57.752 --> 01:23:59.152
And then we can deal, Ralph,

01:23:59.171 --> 01:24:01.292
with the Rangers are coming next season.

01:24:04.011 --> 01:24:05.251
yeah I mean I still think

01:24:05.270 --> 01:24:06.212
they should have kept barry

01:24:07.092 --> 01:24:08.634
okay before I forget before

01:24:08.673 --> 01:24:10.534
I forget uh a couple of

01:24:10.595 --> 01:24:11.695
other shocks this season

01:24:11.735 --> 01:24:13.077
was competition europe from

01:24:13.136 --> 01:24:15.599
michael uh the hun's not

01:24:15.639 --> 01:24:17.479
going into admin not yet if

01:24:17.500 --> 01:24:18.740
the forty niners deal does

01:24:18.780 --> 01:24:19.502
not go through it'll be

01:24:19.521 --> 01:24:20.362
interesting to see what

01:24:20.402 --> 01:24:21.783
does happen there that was

01:24:21.823 --> 01:24:22.863
from eighty eight strand

01:24:23.362 --> 01:24:24.823
And a very special shout out

01:24:24.842 --> 01:24:25.963
for the shock of the season

01:24:26.363 --> 01:24:27.784
from John Waddle who says,

01:24:28.225 --> 01:24:30.087
Claire saying yes to Stevie.

01:24:30.146 --> 01:24:31.887
Stevie's one of my very dear

01:24:31.927 --> 01:24:33.229
friends and he will be listening.

01:24:33.609 --> 01:24:34.550
So Stevie and Claire are

01:24:34.569 --> 01:24:36.311
getting married in Belfast in November.

01:24:36.792 --> 01:24:37.932
So we'll look forward to that.

01:24:38.012 --> 01:24:39.234
I will give a report like

01:24:39.734 --> 01:24:41.335
Hector's Lisbon report.

01:24:41.414 --> 01:24:42.996
I'll tell you about how we

01:24:43.015 --> 01:24:45.057
survived another weekend in Belfast.

01:24:45.137 --> 01:24:46.219
A great place for a weekend.

01:24:46.238 --> 01:24:47.899
So that was us.

01:24:47.920 --> 01:24:49.360
So all that's left for me to do, folks,

01:24:49.440 --> 01:24:50.381
is to say thank you very

01:24:50.402 --> 01:24:51.061
much to the panel.

01:24:51.101 --> 01:24:51.783
Thank you, Ralph.

01:24:53.239 --> 01:24:53.539
Cheers.

01:24:53.579 --> 01:24:54.301
Enjoyed it again.

01:24:54.761 --> 01:24:55.563
Thank you, Hector.

01:24:56.684 --> 01:24:57.244
Thanks, folks.

01:24:57.905 --> 01:24:59.407
And thank you very much more

01:24:59.488 --> 01:25:00.748
especially to Karen.

01:25:00.828 --> 01:25:01.789
Happy Celtic last.

01:25:01.829 --> 01:25:03.532
Hopefully we can entice you

01:25:03.572 --> 01:25:04.573
or shame you back.

01:25:05.073 --> 01:25:07.797
It's not been too scary an

01:25:07.837 --> 01:25:08.779
experience for you.

01:25:10.832 --> 01:25:13.693
No, thank you very much for having me.

01:25:13.712 --> 01:25:14.212
I've really enjoyed it.

01:25:14.233 --> 01:25:14.632
So, thanks, guys.

01:25:14.653 --> 01:25:15.073
Excellent, excellent.

01:25:15.094 --> 01:25:16.113
So, it was really good to hear from you.

01:25:16.154 --> 01:25:17.755
Hopefully, we can get it set up.

01:25:17.835 --> 01:25:18.194
Again,

01:25:18.414 --> 01:25:20.256
we tend to take the summer off a bit

01:25:20.296 --> 01:25:20.956
like Celic,

01:25:21.737 --> 01:25:22.777
and then we'll come back when

01:25:22.796 --> 01:25:23.957
we start the pre-season.

01:25:23.978 --> 01:25:25.318
Hopefully, we'll get a few people signed.

01:25:25.759 --> 01:25:26.998
All that's left is to wish

01:25:27.019 --> 01:25:28.260
everybody have a great summer.

01:25:28.960 --> 01:25:30.560
A word from our sponsor, as always,

01:25:30.581 --> 01:25:31.962
Big Tams in the Gallagate,

01:25:32.282 --> 01:25:33.021
and we'll leave you with a

01:25:33.061 --> 01:25:34.762
song for the Scottish Cup final.

01:25:35.042 --> 01:25:35.603
All right, folks.

01:25:35.643 --> 01:25:36.663
My name is Desi Maughan.

01:25:36.884 --> 01:25:37.363
Good night.

Wham Bham thank you Yang (for 2)

They 5* officials will flirt with an ease of conscious today. They are the innate, mate.

Hopefully, another Treble Yell today and I’m going with following:

Schmeichel

Johnston Carter-Vickers Scales Taylor

McGregor Engels Bernardo

Kuhn Idah Maeda.

Forest, McCowan, Yang and others to come on later to seal the deal and please, no nerve shredding ET and penalties although, to be fair, we’ve become quite good at those.

Enjoy, wherever you are and celebrate to the annoyance of the Unholy Trinity of Polis, Politicians and Press, which is a good thing.

Feck me, that was poor.

10 days ago, we beat them 5-1 at their place with a weakened team.

For all the alleged progress this year, there’s an undeniable soft underbelly.

Definitely one of the worst SC finals I’ve ever seen with Aberdeen sticking to their game plan which included a compressed low block along with persistent fouling, time wasting and play-acting fully backed by arguably the very worst referee in Scottish football, which is no mean feat
We, on the other hand, were mince all over the park yesterday. Lack of risk-taking, lack of creative spark, slow tempo for much of the game and no shortage of elementary mistakes. Rogers deserves a lot of criticism for his ineffective tactics, team selection and substitutions, the latter point also dating back to the win up at Pittodrie when he introduced Reo Hatate to the action while we were cruising at 4-1.
Hopefully yesterday’s fiasco wll serve as a wake-up call leading to some serious investment in playing resources this summer. BR’s qualities as a team coach are indisputable but his track record with regard to new signings is a considerable cause for concern. There’s a great deal of untapped talent out in countries like Japan and Croatia that ought to be examined and what a pleasant surprise it would be if we can just for once have new players in through the door by the start of pre-season instead of desperately bringing in highly-inflated last-minute punts. There’s limited time to get this right before that vital CL qualifier in August.
