Celtic Diary Wednesday June 16: Early Warning Signs Emerge

It’s been a while since the last Diary, as I held off until there was actually something to say. One almost feels the traditional mainstream media silly season has spilled over into the new media, with the desire to say something overruling the feeling that something is not always worth saying.

The Euros have provided a welcome distraction from the ills at Celtic Park, not least for the new manager who can get to work in peace when he finally arrives in town.

It will give him a chance to get to know the core staff at Lennoxtown and Celtic Park who see a lot more of what goes on than those at management level, work out which ones will get flowers and chocolates, and get himself some extra eyes around the place.

Believe me, he’ll need them.

We hear he saw one chap busting a gut in extra training , and commented that that was the sort of attitude he was looking for.

Those flowers will be money well spent……

Postecoglou may be tempted to reach out to the collection of Celts, ex Celts and next Celts doing their stuff on the big stage as he plans for the new season, although none of them particularly merited a mention in the shit show against Czechia.

Stevie Clarke opted for a collection of journeymen which was fairly decent apart from the last line and the first line, with Lyndon Dykes failing to find the net and David Marshall forgetting where his was.

And some people wanted him to manage Celtic….

It’s all fixed anyway, as BBC Scotland let slip the second round draw on twitter…..

Image

With attention now focused on the game against England, who some of you may not know won the World Cup in 1966, you’d think Celtic would keep themselves off the back pages and allow the new man a chance to settle.

But then, Celtic and thinking don’t go hand in hand.

The most obvious clanger to hit the ground with a thud was allowing Neil Lennon to talk to the media.

Lennon has blamed pretty much everything and anyone he can think of for last seasons collapse, without a single mention of the simple fact that he was in charge.

He even went so far as to blame a new breed of Celtic fan, accustomed only to success, for upsetting his delicate little flowers when they lost to Ross County.

Fair play to him , though, he certainly put paid to any sense of entitlement these fans may have had…..

Privately, we’re led to believe he’s telling anyone who will listen that the French guys didn’t want to play for him…which we knew….Ryan Christie wanted away…we knew that as well….and Scott Brown wasn;t up to another season.

Hardly the book of revelations.

Dubai wasn’t a mistake either.

Maybe not, but getting so drunk you had to be put to bed whilst others went out clubbing and came home not with local lassies but local viruses, and not the kind that can be treated at a clinic, was perhaps not the best indicator that the staff didn’t treat it as a jolly.

Although perhaps the club didn’t feel the need to make Lennon sign some sort of non disclosure agreement, its starting to look like another own goal in a long list of defensive errors.

Like this one…..

Those who have renewed their season books, and we hear not many have, have been asked to register their interest in attending match days should the government, not content with making us suffer at home and at work, should decide to allow us in to watch Celtic play.

As if buying a season book …again.,.with no idea if they will be allowed in this season either wasn;t confirmation enough that they wanted to see a game.

The club have also revealed that season book renewals will not be extended beyond June 25.

This is a clear sign that they are not getting the figures they expected, and so will use the “waiting list ” to frighten punters into parting with hundreds of pounds ..again,,,for a product they cannot guarantee they will supply.

Again.

They really need to not only look out of the windows at Celtic Park but occasionally pop out into town and have a look at whats going on around them in the real world.

Finally, and not before time, the support have had enough, and quietly, with the minimum of fuss, have decided there is no more piss to take.

These are hard times, and there cannot be a family in the land who have not questioned the value for money provided by a season book that in all probability will not be used.

Ah. The board,

Funny you should mention that lot.

there’s yet another little scandal blowing up around a club at Ibrox. they seem to attract them…

When the plague came to town, the Scottish government moved to help football clubs…..

Image

Jolly splendid of them.

However, one club seemed to get a little bit more than others….

Image

Twice as much as the originally mentioned sum.

A twenty year interest free loan to tide your business over, repayable over twenty years ? It’s as close to free money as you can get.

I’ve no idea if Celtic took advantage of this scheme, but there is certainly something not right here. If there were funds left over after the initial round of appliations, were they given to clubs who held out their plate and asked for more ?

Did Celtic not ask for a loan to further enable the Ibrox club to delay an insolvency event ?

Just the fact that I’m asking this question means that there is an acknowledgement that our board seem more concerned about the ibrox entity collapsing than pressuring their own support into parting with their own cash in a time of national emergency.

With share issues to raise money on an almost daily basis over the river now, there’s clearly a problem.

Have Celtic , and i ask because they have form for this, helped to prolong the aginy over there ?

Is it another example of corporate negligence, along with the five way agreement, to perpetuate the old firm brand ?

The fixtures for next season are out already.

The draw for the champions league is today.

This shit is getting real.

Celtic have to pull their thighs together or they’ll be shafted again.

Or we will.

Unsure at this stage how many fans have renewed but if the club thinks there are thousands on a waiting list to buy tickets they are kidding themselves. The reduced season ticket sales will probably limit us even more in our transfer dealings……….

I hope we will be aiming higher than a young lad from the Owls who is according to Kennedy “one for the development squad” and the apparent interest in a league one striker from Sunderland and potential return of Sviatchencko, a player who always struck me as being too slow, lacking in height and bottle.

We play the Danish team in the 2nd qualifying round, we had better be ready

But the question is, who signed him if he was meant to be Lennon signing back in the winter?

Looks like Ange won’t be picking either his own players or backroom team after all.

Expect Kennedy & Strachan on the touchline with Peter still pulling the strings for the rest of the new guy’s tenure.

Who decides to ban these words and why?

El Gringo Machino

You start removing words from the lexicon of everyday usage and you’re already in the realm of book burning.

El Gringo Machino

Thye only burnt the books to keep everyone from learning what was in them, ye know.

And they didn’t even burn most of them, they kept the knowledge contained in them for themselves as part of a deliberate plan to use it against us a later date.

And this is that date.

Most of them are to be found in the vaults of a big fancy house of a certain Sovereign State in the Rome vicinity, one of onky 3 Sovereign States on Earth, with Washington DC, (formerly Rome, Maryland) & The City of London.

Not London; The CITY OF LONDON.

There’s a huge difference.

Anyone know what that difference is?

Uralius

The City of London is one of the oldest corporations in the world. It has its own mayor, police force and is 2 square miles although it’s commonly referred to as the square mile. There are those who believe that the City of London corporation created the District of Columbia as a corporation that has recently gone bankrupt. Thus gaining control of a whole nation that should’ve been Independent.

Nice one, boss!

You sure do know your stuff, man, respect.

And if they still own America, and all those other 54 countries under ‘Commonwealth’ rule, including Canada, New Zealand, Australia etc then it means that all of them are still subjects to the British Crown, State and Rule.

And even with all this overarching predominant power, and therefore still extant Empire, all roads lead to Rome as that’s where said empire began.

Well, Egypt, to be exact, but its malevolent presence is continually on the spread and has travelled from the Nile through Jerusalem, Greece, Rome & Paris before finally making its spider’s nest in the City of London, the financial wing of the empire, with Rome the religious wing and Washington DC (formerly Rome, Maryland!) the military.

The only three Sovereign States on Earth.

Yet still folk think there’s not a long term plan at work when the truth is these cvnts own everything, from the governments to the schools to the media to ‘science’ to every aspect of academia, sports, entertainment, the lot.

They also own the medicine.

And that’s why in every pharmacy you see the snake dipping its tongue in while winding round the cup …

For they are the snake and we are the cup.

And it’s THEIR ‘medicine’ they’re feeding us, and to the time of hundreds of billions of Da Olaf’s, and literally millions fo ‘legal drug’ deaths’, every single year since they took over.

And how people can trust cvnts like that is beyond all comprehension.

It’s been a war on humanity since long before they even took over.

And this is the end game of their long term plan, to get rid of us and keep the whole gaff for themselves.

But The Big Fella uo the stair might, or might not, have something to say about that.

Depends whether you believe everything you read in books or not, which I don’t, I don’t believe anything until it’s benn 100% by myself and me alone, though ye never know, a lot of us might get wise to their shite quicker than even you or I might think.

Cheers for the input.

A proper breath of fresh air at last.

El Gringo Machino

America was never independent.

The empire owns everywhere except the places it’s still bombing every day so they can own that too.

It’s in the process of relocating from London to Beijing as the next part in the long term plan so it can fully encompass Asia too, for the empire is but a parasite, a vampire, a proper scourge on the face of the Earth and it’s our duty and right as God’s given people to reclaim everything these cvnts in their empire building game have stole from us.

Anything less than resistance is an embarrassment to ones self as both a man and a human.

Know thine enemy.

And I can sure you, lads, it isn’t me.

The squint eyed Bush made ‘Spreading Democracy’ a catch term amongst us bams in the West after his mate Silverstein downed the two towers but these cvnts have been at it for centuries.

In fact, here’s a book detailing how far their ‘Democracy’ has ‘spread’, ie, been brutally enacted upon the subjects of whatever country they fancy taking over next

They never stop the killing, and do everything they can to kill all hope, as Blum’s excellent study explains.

Just read the chapter heading alone to see how this world is organised by a criminal and long term criminal bloodthirsty cartel.

For how does one become rich, far less a billionaire or a trillionaire?

By capitalising on people’s stupidity, of course.

And by fvck have they done a job of it.

All I’d do was hope he’d pack it in

Moaning like a hun

On a positive note I think Lennon took over a winning team and gradually lost the plot through his lack of management and attention to fine detail that Rodgers put in. Postecoglu is from the same school as Rodgers not as good but could be. He will restore the work Rodgers put in. But he can’t do it without the quality of dembele etc. so good signings and patience and getting rid of who doesn’t want to be there is anges remit. He will try it will take time. We may miss out on the champions league. But that’s almost a given.

Football managers need ‘balls of steel’, not jelly babies.
Players must accept that they too have responsibilities, go on holiday and return unfit, then your contract should be terminated, want to leave? then you get dropped from the first team squad, dressing room harmony matters, discipline matters.
Celtic FC face many hurdles, blatantly biased referees (the proof is in the stats), corrupt and biased governing bodies (the proof is in Res.12 – 5Way Agreement), the Scottish Media and its completely biased reporting (the proof is there for all to read and view). This is all before a ball is kicked.
Lennon’s latest rambling confirms that he is still in denial. This is all alien to any foreign coach and who knows what the time delay has cost the club and that was all down to the board, it was them that cost the delay, them that was in denial about Lennon’s suitability, it was there choice.
Tick Tock, the mouse ran up the boardroom clock, accountability matters, we ask it of others, so why should they not be accountable as well?

Considering that prior to the A-League in Australia the entire Association Football League was made up of teams started by migrants. All of those leagues including the one Ange was managing were demoted to the lower leagues with no chance of promotion.
Ange couldn’t get work on the new league even though he had won the old league as a manager. He was given a poisoned chalice by the Aussie FA to coach a national youth team with no youth players and no plan to bring any through (see the previous bit about the migrant teams). After that he has to coach in Greece tier 3. Finally a Scotsman got him the job at Brisbane Roar. He might know a thing or two about being treated poorly as a migrant, he might know a thing or two about being treated unfairly by the football association and he certainly knows what it’s like to be treated poorly by a biased media. You could not get a better fit for Celtic outside of a Celtic man anywhere. I just hope he’s as good a football manager as everyone in Asia/Australia thinks he is.

Exactly through struggle we learn. Eddie Howe however a good manager to me is limited and basically a Shite bag. For not wanting to venture out of a comfort zone of taking strugglers out of the abyss to winning things. I think there are two different types of managers. He is in the Moyes mould. Making shite teams better which in itself is admirable. Winning trophies is another kettle of fish. So I think the choice naturally happened and there’s no evil manifestations from our board.

Immigrants? British ships sailed the seven (one) seas, looking for exotic lands to send their convicts on a long, long, long vacation. Then, out of the Bush came that famous Irishman Ned Kelly. Ned stood up against inequality, wearing his ploughshare coat of many metals he took on the bobbies. It’s a little known fact that Ned Kelly was related to the Celtic Kelly’s, he must have been, cos they were thieves an robbers as well.
We wish Ange well, but time is short because of the cuds that run the club, their idea of Celtic Economics is to sell Eric for £1.00 million and buy him back for £4.00 million. Spreading all the love all around, round, round.

Uralius,

AP was fired after six months by a third tier Greek team. Since 2009 he has never had a winning percent higher than 50%. Do you think this will be tolerated in the SPL?

AP is a total gamble. He has never had a successful first season in his mature coaching career(since 2009). He is inheriting a shambles of a first team squad and will have a few weeks to bring in targets and mould the lot into a functioning team. We are in a situation like Motherwell finds itself every year with best players going or gone and iffy replacements brought in. AP could easily not win half of his first six games. How will we feel then?

But having said all that, he’s our manager and the mess isn’t his fault in any way, shape or form. He may just surprise us and get a response out of the players that was sorely lacking all through last season. The jury’s out…let’s hope they don’t come back with a hanging verdict!!

The mentality of the board, Lennon’s comments defending Lawwell etc (hounded out the door), entitled fans (it were never like this in my day), all conjure up images of a social club with a thrupney bit jukebox, ale or bitter or tap (crisps to go with it if you’re feeling risky), the unwilling desire to go digital.
It’s going to take McKay time to convince Desmond that he has money draining dinosaurs on the board (although that sort of message might get through) and for Postecoglou to rustle up the squad, shake out the dust mites, the old timey attitudes (but I never had to do that for the old boss). It will take time and it’s definitely not Ange’s fault. However, he is riding on a wave of enthusiasm so maybe, just maybe his message might get through.

My main concern is if he brings in his own staff or works with some or all the existing. Surely he would benefit from at least one other new face, to be on his side from day 1. And the DoF role, when is this going to be addressed? We were told weeks ago it was imminent, really? I mean, no-one believed that but this is proving we are right and the imminent claim was nonsense. Or maybe it is happening. If so, when, who and how?

Good luck to the new manager; if given time, backing, a few of his own staff and players listen to his philosophy, we might just get something from this season ahead

Ralph, I appreciate you provide the diary free and in your own spare time but whenever there’s a long delay and a build-up of comments, I can’t access the second page. It means I’m shut out of the place until a new diary appears. (I don’t post much but I like to read what others are saying). Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this format is a bugger to work with – please change it!

Good diary, Ralph.

If it’s true that it was Celtic that let Sevco have their share of the govt money then the game really is a bogey.

And the vaudevillian villain no longer gives a monkeys about the Celtic support, of he ever did.

Billionaires want profit like vultures want carrion.

But when they’ve nothing to feed on they starve.

Not A Penny More.

Scottish fitba is now officially a joke shop.

Ah it’s great being a Celtic supporter. Constant entertainment and drama fuelled by us, media, board, players & competitors. Next season will be upon us soon, try to be positive in the lead up. If it goes tits up again then imagine we were about to be liquidated and have to beg borrow and beg some more to get into the lowest rung of Scottish professional football. FFS that would be horrible, but if we don’t watch out then the people advocating boycotts on season ticket sales will set a ball rolling that will decimate our revenues handing the recent financially creative new mob an open goal..Get behind the club, new CEO, manager, players and media team.. well maybe I’ve taken that far enough but you get my drift…I love having Celtic in my blood and will never ever decry anyone associated with Celtic, fans, players, board members, kiosk staff, car park attendants, turnstile system. All opinions are valid unless they are plain daft..

Have to laugh at these guys who want to keep giving Leigh Griffiths yet another chance.
Listen up, this guy does not possess the right attitude, application, professionalism or the desire to be in peak condition.
In my humble opinion, he has blown it & i want him out!

Stiil no manager actually in the building, £40M up for grabs this season, the Huns almost had an Invincible Treble last season with Gerrard in charge of an average team and we appoint Ange the Postie who requires, at least, 10 first team players.

This is a disaster movie in the making. Even the Aussie sports media doesn’t give a toss, Women’s Aussie Rules and Basketball get more coverage than the A League and overseas football.

Just as an example of players coming back unfit should have their contracts terminated. Leigh Griffiths coming back from lockdown overweight, when asked to do any training exercise, he told Lennon that he was injured, that is not acceptable, he should have been sacked, imagine the other players witnessing that. GTF.
Remember Charlie Mulgrew, out running with his weighted backpack, working hard to retain his fitness when on holiday and his wife laughing at him from their car. That is a player who has accepted his responsibilities to the club he plays for.
Tommy Burns, questioning his height because Charlies parents were wee tots. Hah
