J’Accuse

Timposter points out a few uncomfortable home truths, and wonders if we have reached the bottom yet…

So here we are………the culmination of years of appeasement to this Celtic PLC Board.

A blind eye to the underhand tactics of those in charge was turned to keep the blue pound of Ibrox live…and look how that worked out.

They still treat us with utter disdain.

They claim to be Celtic supporters themselves.

Really????

Put yourself in their position at the start of this season, on the brink of a historic 10IAR.

You’d have moved heaven and earth to put every resource towards achieving this. From the best manager, coaches, sports science, players.

No expense spared.

What did they do?

They sat on their hands with the usual arrogance and disdain of any criticism.

That alone is unforgivable.

How did we get here?

This is where  J’Accuse…

We all sat back and allowed Peter Lawwell to act with maniacal, narcissistic, mendacious control freakery with his policy of the Lion and 2 men and 1 pair of trainers.

Where 1 man puts on the trainers and the other man asks him

“what god are they?”.

He answered

“All I need to do is just outrun you and no more”.

Added to this is his love of the Old Firm brand, that which he sees as a saleable asset outside of Scotland, and a minor inconvenience inside.

However more important is his complicity which resulted in us being compromised and unable to call out the cheating.

He asked a number of influential fans to provide him the smoking gun in Res12.

So we agreed to play their game.

Not only did they do this, they provided the bullets, the fingerprints and the DNA.

He then refused point blank to use it.

At every AGM the Board kicked it into the long grass.

They even lied to shareholders on the 5WA as well as leading shareholders away from the core issue surrounding the granting the licence which was an SFA responsibility not UEFA’s on which he had been well briefed by shareholders from May 2018.

The bottom line is we play in a rigged game where they act with impunity because the cheats know their will be no repercussions because Celtic PLC are compromised.

We lay down with the dogs, and woke up with fleas.

As I have said we have played their corporate game, and still do.

No matter how many shares we hold, they will always hold more and use them to defeat all our attempts.

We have shown them up as charlatans and liars already, and will no doubt continue to do so.

They simply don’t care. The only language they understand is CASH.

Our cash.

For as long as we willingly hand it over to them they will ignore us.

They get away with this because of the emotional blackmail of “faithful through and through” where it will hurt the team.

So what does it take for us to act?

We did it before under the leadership of Fergus McCann.

We can do a lot better than this PLC Board.

They are too complacent and comfortable in their malaise.

We could do a lot better commercially.

We could have even more infrastructure investment.

We wouldn’t bat an eyelid in handing over our cash for the right investment.

If we don’t act now then we can all scream at the Board, however the inconvenient truth is that we have allowed them to act with impunity and disdain.

So the next time we all look in the mirror…….J’Accuse…!

No matter how much we complain about the running of Celtic F.C. we will still be asked to plough our money into the club eeather it be buying shirts or full kits for our children, we will stillbe bled dry. Sorry Celtic F.C. but Ihave enough shirts to see my final days out. My hard earned cash will stay in my pocket at weekends while I go to the pub have a drink and debate where else this once great club has gone wrong.

I personally can’t take any more of these boys. Pains me as an Irishman to say I won’t be back til Desmond is out with Law well and Bankier. Imo they threw this season on purpose.

Dunno about any other Celtic supporter, but I feel stripped of my Celtic being. I feel apathy disappointed and disillusioned, robbed of my trust by those that are the current custodians of our great club. It’s not for the first time though, it’s happened before during an earlier era. Fergus helped me to get my Celtic mojo back. I try to look for excuses for them, like Covid -19, but it’s not that, my trust in them was destroyed long before Covid, I have racked my limited brain trying to find excuses for this boards behaviour but how can you excuse the inexcusable? you cannot. When you alienate your own support in your pursuit of the blue pound, then you do not care very much about them, no matter how much they protest. The Celtic support deserves much better than them, all they ask for is to be treated in an informed manner with honesty and a level playing field.
Resolution 12, the 5Way Agreement, the SFA, the SPFL, the Celtic board denies them any of that.

After all of the shenanigans and a season book paid, IN FULL, with zero match attendance? Any Celtic supporter who pays for a season ticket, and/or Celtic merch, whilst any member of this board remains attached to the Club, is an utter fanny; an utter COMPLICIT fanny.

Lawwell’s ego cost us the 10, £300 million+ in European failure and has now hand-picked his successor and the next manager. Nothing will change untill it is forced. He even had to have a picture with Scott being given a thank-you plaque. When one really thinks they are God and answerable to nobody, why change anything? Sooner this bunch of cranks are replaced the sooner we will see real results in Europe and less complacency in Scotland. HH!

Scott was on his way regardless of who the CEO. Was his last signing Barkas? Who was between? McGinn, oops let that go, Bolingoli? He is a disaster working aboard a cash cow that could have been even more flush but for his ego and fear, not realising we win by being brave, not by being thrifty and our true European standard of play has ensured we are a forgotton force there, hopefully that can be addressed, constant reminders of the atmosphere which comes at a cost to the supporters pockets, not the board, helps our teams but cannot raise the level of quality if not there or not enough of it. Great article. The fact that Lawwell is even considering staying on in a different capacity beyond this season sums up everything about the amateurish,
cronyism of the Senior Management Team.

Just re-read the letter to the Celtic ST holders, in fact go to paragraph 12

– “We have not been able to deliver the kind of season we have become so used to”

tells you all you need to know about the complacency, mismanagement and lack of foresight from PL and the PLC board. Who was asking the uncomfortable questions? Who was asking what if? Who was doing the game planning? Who was responsible for our/competitor SWOT analysis ( basic business management), who was responsible for our competitor analysis (on & off field). Now read that again and you can see why it has been a complete and utter sh!t show this season and any one with half a brain could see it coming even factoring in COVID-19.

Now what to do, well as supporters we have to hope the club have learned a valuable lesson and have now got a plan in place. I would have used the word trust instead of hope but I am not sure that is appropriate having witnessed what has happened over PL’s 17 year at the helm.

As for dealing with other “historical issues” res11/12, SFA, Refeeing issues etc it is “easy” and we know what to do and it all comes down to money!

1st – do not attend any SFA cup matches home or away.

2nd – do not attend any League cup matches home or away.

3rd – do not attend any away matches in the SPFL.

I know these will be controversial for some/most(?) Celtic supporters but as I have said before in previous diary’s money and who is not getting it is the key. I can assure you that no Celtic fans at away grounds/cup games will certainly focus the attention of club chairman and the SFA/SPFL and it will not just be the money think of the worldwide publicity and the media asking why we are doing it. It would give Celtic supporters another platform/opportunity to highlight bias and historical wrongdoing (cheating) by the football authorities. If you don’t think it will make any difference just look how quickly the proposed ESL collapsed when the fans, especially in England had their say!

I find it had to say after this season but we can still support our club by being ST holders but we don’t have to support the organisations and other clubs who have ignored the issues to ensure that they befit from the blue pound! Lastly this is not about “sevco/rangers” they have to do what they have to do and live with the consequences but, the authorities have to ensure that there is a level playing field for all clubs and act without fear or favour!

This will take time as we want to see long term change but, if we do nothing then nothing will change and we will be here in 5/10/15yrs saying if only we had done something in 2021.

rant over!

Great points Sancheto but I feel the will just isn’t there. Probably more so now as we are itching to return to games. The GB could start it but there isn’t even consensus on their worth to the Club. Seen the proposal elsewhere to boycott all the sponsors, just as difficult with Magners being one but I never realised there were so many. Let them know why you aren’t buying their products and the message will quickly get through.
Downside could cost honest people their job though.
