Celtic Diary Monday December 7: The Problem At Celtic..

  1. In order to build a successful football club, certain top quality appointments must be made.

They must be made after due care and attention is taken to ensure not only that the candidate has a proven track record of success at the highest level, but also the potential to further improve.

At Celtic , however, and this may well be the reason for the current collapse, custom and practice commonplace in the football industry is swept aside.

For instance, coaching, which one would think is paramount to enable high levels of fitness and organisation, which in turn would lead to success on the field,  Celtic have opted for Gavin Strachan, son of former manager Gordon.

He doesn’t fit any of the above criteria,  but never mind . Maybe the senior scout could help out by unearthing the kind of talent that needs only the minimum of tweaking.

The senior scout at Celtic is Craig Strachan,  who…oh, you get the idea.

I’ve no idea if any of Strachan’s kids are in the medical profession, but if so, it could explain the injury crises of recent months.

  1.  Could there possibly be a link between this kind of cronyism and the collapse of Celtic this season?

The way the team are playing and the run that we’re on you’re moaning about the 1st team coach’s appointmen? Risible.

No idea whether either Strachan is good enough or not, but I’m 100% sure that he’s not the problem.

Even if you had no manager, no coaches, no medical staff, or even no CEO. all you should need is a ball to beat the likes of Ross County and St Johnstone: especially when you have spent the guts of £20m this year alone. You would hardly need a full team.

Sorry Cole Burns but this is disrespectful blinkered nonsense. If the players adopted such an attitude you would get the same result we are getting even if everything else was in order. No Celtic coach since the beginning of Celtic would ever agree with your statement.

Cole Burns

Reply to  Iljas Baker

Of course, no Celtic coach would agree but that doesnt make me wrong. I am not blaming the coaches anyway, I am just saying that no Celtic team that had £20 million spent on it, and that is this season alone, should need any coaching, cajoling or the getting of pampered treatment should lose to the likes of Ross County or Inverness, especially during a pandemic when all
the forecasters tipped Celtic to be the only team standing when it is all over.

It has got to the stage where Celtic are going to be the biggest losers, a complete and utter turnaround. Theres all the talk of sevco winning the league: what about the treble?

Anyway, the statement was hypothetical
and would never come to pass, unless in a school playground.

Of course! thats it! now I remember where I experienced Celtics present type of football before.

Lennon is the single biggest personal beneficiary of this cronyism.

Out of work, out of demand, sacked from last 2 jobs and over half a decade from doing anything remotely successful.

He’s still there because he’ll simply toady the board line.

Yes, the complete setup at Celtic has been shown to be a shambles but let’s not lose sight of the fact Lennon is the prime example of this.

If we had a functional setup then Lennon would never have been anywhere the managerial role.

Lets not green and whitewash this, he is the leading symbol of this dysfunctionality not an ‘innocent bystander’ adversely affected by this.

I said it when NL was appointed to replace the rat who ran away & Board couldn’t tempt anyone else that would end in tears for Lennon . There are a number of Celtic fans who look down on people who come from what they consider low class. N L coming from a Lurgan getto just wouldn’t be capable of carrying out such an important job . These people were waiting for NL to fail & all last season when we won SPL & League Cup & progress as far as S C went ,they still felt their need to tell everyone who was interested that he shouldn’t have the job . Celtic with biggest home fan base missed

Mince.

The people who would look down on someone from a Lurgan ghetto are in the Celtic boardroom and fully support Lennon.

The fans who want him out don’t look down on people below them and base their opinions solely on the sh1tshow he’s constantly serving up.

Mince, that’s the best I have heard yet the Board that appointed MO’N ,WGS &
B R , all highly respectable & successful, and also appointed a man from a Lurgan getto to look down on . It wasn’t because of his long success as player & captain. Decided to appoint a man to look down . It wasn’t a Board member who preached that N L wasn’t good enough to manage Celtic even before a ball was kicked competitively under N L . It was our toffee nose so called supporters

Rodgers was out of work but in demand, in fact he’d turned down jobs waiting for the right opportunity. much to our good fortune.

Given the fantastic job he did he was always going to get a gig at the top of the EPL.

Lennon would be lucky to get a gig at Accrington Stanley and Celtic should be looking far higher than that.

If you feel “a bit sad, confusing and pathetic”, I can’t imagine too many people disagreeing with you.

There was also his pay off from Liverpool that had various constraints in his ability to take a job within a certain amount of time , while he also had to consider his coaching teams welfare. I think it was over £15m. Somebody does talk an awful lot of shite .

Duncan did rodgers not threaten to leave on a few occasions , voicing his displeasure at interference from lawell . Remember the terminado interview.. i feel this is forgotton that lawell made the man unhappy by vetoing possible signings , bringing in players like sved he knew nothing about . Yeah he would have went back down south eventually but i dont think he would have been in such a hurry had it not been for our self appointed director of football

Deary me but I’ll go easy on you, as I don’t want to be blamed for your next flounce off.

He was unemployed hence trying to get one-off ‘expert analysis’ gigs, the preserve of out of work, out of demand ex-managers trying and usually failing to be relevant.

Lennon has destroyed Celtic these past few months, actually ever since he came back, and seems hell bent in inflicting more punishment, knowing full well he can do nothing to help the situation.

That’s a problem for me and most Celtic fans, I suspect.

Given that you hated the Treble Treble years, its no surprise that you fully support our current plight.

I’ve completely ‘lost it’ with CFC/PLC, even beyond the Mowbray fiasco. I’d clear out the lot (in agreement with Cole Burns’ sentiments). We’ve nothing to lose now by relieving NFL, John Kennedy, the Strachan clan and last but should be 1st, Lawwell, who got us here.
We could put Scott Brown, CalMac and James Forrest (all of whom fully understand Celtic FC) in charge whilst searching out a SUITABLE replacement Manager and backroom staff.
ANYTHING WOULD IMPROVE THE STATUS QUO. Sorry Neil, but it’s just too evident.

You nailed it!! guy is an imposter should never been near Celtic job at anytime!! i always stated that, nicholas tho a bit of a twat was right and i am sure he speaks for many ex Celts and real legends like Mcstay, big Roy, Danny and many others!! This guy won the lottery 20 years ago and still he milks it!! wish oneill had never signed him! As look what we have created a entitled cluess manager that never be near a big club! but here we are saddled with a guy that lost so so many big games first time! And bottled it in 2011 at inverness, bottled it at ibrox to win the league 2012 los cup semis to ross county, hearts, st. mirren finals to kilmarnock! the huns cup ties to aberdeen an morton!! Rodgers showed how it should be done!! disgraceful situation we now find ourselves in and and not hindsight a TREBLE TREBLE WAS RUINED! By lawell hearing fans sing his name as he held that cup in went “f@@k it “! I am giving him it! Now we paying the price and being treated by utter contempt by these imposters and its they that feel ” entitled”! We all know we could still win this with a change but we be killed by out of touch fools that wont allow their pride to be hurt! while millions! of us have to suffer!! MADNESS!! Time to starve them out sadly, only way only way can you imagine no covid? They never pulled this no chance! Which actually shows how they view us the fans!! and we are CELTIC NOT THOSE B@@@:DS!!

If the people who run the club think that that by blaming “yobs” and “buffoons” they can deflect attention away from their many, many failures they’ve got another thing coming. By appointing Lennon they blundered. By keeping him in the job they are compounding their errors and making things much, much worse. They should have acted decisively and shown him the door after the Hungarian debacle or, at the latest, after the first Czech humiliation. But he’s still in the job. What a disgrace. They are lucky there are no fans in the stadium – I can’t imagine what would have happened if there had been a full house for the Ross County game …

Big Don Gazpachio

One of Lennon’s most vociferous critics is being a bit disingenuous today by saying that’s he’s criticised the club ‘for years’ for not having a long term plan when the truth is that he was one of the main proponents of the ‘Celtic Is A Well Run Club’ theory.

Apparently he’s also been causing havoc over on the Pravda site which is a bit ironic when some of his own readers have been telling him the truth of what’s really going on inside the walls of Celtic Park for years, even before Brendan was appointed.

I never did pay him much attention though his readers views were always interesting but now every Tim gets answered to by a glee filled Hun who’s ran riot over the site for months now with no sign of the boy in charge shutting him down.

You know things are bad when Huns take over Celtic blogs with neither sanction nor ban but can gloat over the loss of The Ten with impunity.

Big Don Gazpachio

If that’s true the boy has a serious personality disorder and needs urgent medical help.

Big Don Gazpachio

I have thought about it.

Often.

It’s been clear since he stepped in and rid the site of other long term posters who, were ridiculing him that he can control the site when he likes and every page was packed with comments back then.

So why would he get rid of all those hits only to end up with a site where there’s only 4 comments and 2 of them are his own?

How does that make either him or the site money?

So you think about it …

Every page he writes he has to hang around and work twice as hard just to keep annoying his one time fans?

Either way the site’s now unreadable and can’t have long to go so why would he bother?

He never brought anything to the table anyway.

Big Don Gazpachio

You’re saying the boy shut down a successful and incredibly well attended site just to live in an echo chamber?

See, this is a perfect example of how you don’t think things through, Charlie, you get stuck at one bit, like you have with Lenny beating Barca, and can’t see past it.

Think it through.

Your proposal makes even less sense than the most idiotic JF post.

Big Don Gazpachio

So work twice or three times as hard waiting for every response so you can write ‘What JD actually means is Mr Gerrard is a great manager’ etc to every fvckin comment on the site?

That’s behind nonsensical, Charlie, and only a nonsense heid like yours could come up with it and then continue to believe it.

It’s bad enough that the ‘Ted’ character needs his own heid looked at but now you’re saying that Forrest himself, who has another site to run, and a life to live, has to check back every 5 minutes just to wind up and alienate his own readers?

You haven’t thought this through, Charlie, same way you didn’t think through ‘Celtic’s Won 12 Trophies In A Row’, ‘Lennon’s 20 Years At Celtic’ and making a monkey outta Maradona when he wasn’t an hour dead.

Making up shite to suit yer ain narrative is one thing, fvcko, but mocking the dead is another thing again.

Now go n take yer beret aff, stop poising in the mirror and get back to us once you’ve learned how to both think things through and to take responsibility for your own words.

You are entitled to your opinion but not your own ‘facts’.

He’s not been at the club for 20 years ago, at least I hope when he said Hibs always have to play against 12 men at Celtic Park that he wasn’t ‘at the club’ at the time.

I know you hated the Treble Treble years, so now you’re trying to airbrush them for history, to be left with a lennon continuum.

Not 1 single player should be leaving whilst lennon is still there, as that’s a job for the new, competent manager.

Before Rodgers came in the players were vastly underperforming but get a manager commensurate with Celtic’s status and hey presto Invincibles.

lennon is the sole cause of our on-field problems and would never be in the job if our off-field issues were addressed.

It should be noted that lennon lost 2 titles before he won one against a, literally, dying Hun and is the chief cause of why the 10 is a forlorn hope.

That’s 3 out of the 6 league losses we’ve experienced in the past 20 years. Wow sign this guy up long-term.

In my experience, a spoilt wean is an accurate description for someone who flounces of, as he can’t handle losing (and losing badly) the debate.

Neil Lennon is a bawhair fae losing all integrity and respect fae the Celtic support, not because of anything but his beyond dismal failings as a manager.

The Cha

You’ve never checked but bang on about “2 decades”, “20 years”.

Perfectly sums you up.

I make it about 12, finished as player 2007 and temp manager 2010.

Rodgers took as to unparalleled levels of domestic domination, which was always going to continue after he left but is now crashing down due to lennon.

Treble Treble, £35m profit and £9m in agreed compo.

Lennon last season, sold Tierney £25m, took £10m from piggy bank and made £100k profit ie almost £35m loss without those 2.

The way things are going it looks like we’ll need to pay someone £9m to take him off our hands.

Its a real puzzling why Celtic fans would prefer Rodgers over lennon.

PS Are you going to cut out the Heil Hitler crap, it might go down well on FF but not on a Celtic site, sunshine.

There’s every chance that the comments that slip through the system ie instantly published are deemed unacceptable. I find it funny that some sites are thinking that the removal of the barriers at Celtic Park are a sign the these cvnts on the board are taking baby steps toward a softening approach to the shambles they’ve been the architects of. Removal of the barriers will be because UEFA are in town on Thursday and wouldn’t take kindly to the Celtic Wall on the Celtic Way. Wake up people.

Maybe and that said unlikely. I think they think they have leverage with no fans at the games. They can hope the teams starts winning again at some point up to the new year. Hope they are winning by the time fans are back inside and carry on regardless.

‘Desmond cannot stand them’ ‘

Thats why he got Peter to sign the 5WA and why the entire Celtic support have gone mad over the past month …

Because Dermot, generous benefactor that he is, decided to use his lapdog cheapest option available to collapse Celtic’s title challenge and dominance with it.

And King is selling now at 20 pence a share because he knows they’re not worth tuppence.

They’ll get the 30-40 million from the CL courtesy of Dermot & Peter same as they bent over for them last time and Sevco get to pay off their ever mounting debts to Hector, Liverpool, Ashley, etc AND stay alive in the process.

Thats why the 10 million Ashley payout & the 9 mil owed to He tor has been pushed so far down the line, to give them the breathing space to make the Group Stages.

Well that’s that. Official statement from the club. Lemon will be going nowhere until the New Year. No point in shouting Lennon out until the games for the rest of the year have been played. LAWELL OUT!

Lennon going nowhere until the New Year? Of course, by then it won’t matter, especially when the Huns do us 5-0 at Ibrox. Lennon should have gone a month ago. It is now too late and now doesn’t matter for this season. What faith can any Celtic fan have that we are good enough to beat Hearts in a Cup Final? We can’t score and we can’t defend. A good manager can lift a team, sometimes inspire them. Lenny doesn’t listen but here is advice from a lifelong fan who has seen 3 nine in a rows. Get Hazard on goals. The bhoy can defend corners well. Get Taylor back at leftback. Have we even won any games with Laxalt bombing forward? (Bolingoli mark 2?) Drop Broonie for a while. Remember when we had Christie partnering McGregor and how much energy we had, with good results? Finally, feck the fitness, goalscorers score goals and Griffiths is the only goalscorer we have! Here’s an idea too. Our fans lift the team as Big Jock often said. No fans mean the MIBs can do their business without opposition. The reason Newco play so well is that their fans get on their team making them nervous and error-prone. No fans, no nerves. If we are still in the race come New Year, then we must get Forster back. However, Lenny must resign. I now believe we must bring in O’Neill and Keane to kick some ass and shake things up. Lennon out, please. He’s lost his mojo and delaying things won’t help him, the team or us absent fans. Also, hand it to the Newco team playing out of Ibrox. They have a great defence and are racking up an incredible goal difference. Perhaps our only role will be to ruin their invincible season? What happened to us? Asking Lenny to leave does not change our appreciation of him as a player, a coach or as one of us but surely it’s time for him to go?

Reply to  Devoy45

Very good post Devoy and I agree with most of your points although I don’t think that MON and Roy Keane would be the solution to our woes. We need a dynamic team manager with a proven track record, someone who is forward thinking and capable of introducing a new project with modern training techniques and systems of play that would convince and motivate our players. Someone with the type of organisational skills to get the lads functioning as a strong unit and bursting a gut to play for each other once again. An Eddie Howe or a Dan Petrescu for instance. Top level managers like Pochettino, who has been interesting Real Madrid lately, are way out of our reach. As it stands, things aren’t just stagnating. They’re becoming progressively worse and the longer Lennon and his coaching team remain, the hole that we’re in will just get deeper and deeper. An irreversible and unbearable situation. It breaks my heart to say it but not only has Lenny lost our confidence and backing, he’s now beginning to lose our respect. His prolonged stay is standing him in good stead to outdo Mowbray, Barnes and Delia in overall ineptitude. Keeping him on for another month is insane, Our current coaching staff should not have any part to play in the decisions to be made in what is going to be a vitally important January transfer window. If a little time is needed to bring in the right man with his own technical team, why not appoint someone like Willie McStay as a short-term interim coach to reduce the malaise and help introduce the winds of change? The board seem to have lost the plot completely and have alienated a very large section of the support. If the farce continues for much longer, they really are going to lose out big time when they get round to promoting season tickets for next term. God only knows where we’ll be by then if the club doesn’t act very quickly. Lawell is a spent force who has been treating the fans with utter contempt so he can GTF. Hope he’s gone at the end of the season.

Agree about this and is why the permanent appointment of lennon was completely bizarre.

Deila tried to introduce modern methods but was undone by the players not buying into it and, er, because he was a rubbish manager.

If he came back after that it would make some kind of sense in that it could be rationalised that we had dabble with ‘new fangled things’ but it doesn’t work in Scotland blah, blah, blah and so back to the future we go. I wouldn’t agree but can see the argument.

But Rodgers came in, was fantastically successful and all the players bought into it, so to basically throw all of that away, which probably cost a lot of money, made and continues to make no sense.

Hopefully the right decision will be made this time and all the good work from that time can be resurrected rather than having to start again from scratch.

Spot on. For the record, Lambert currently has Ipswich Town in 3rd place in League 1 but the fans are far from happy with the quality and style of football on show. We could have got Bielsa when we were looking for a replacement for Rogers. He took a Chilean National team that was playing shite under 3 previous managers and turned them into a unit that qualified for the World Cup and just failed to beat Brazil in the knockout stages. He has taken Leeds into the premiership after they spent years in the doldrums. I’ve seen him managing teams for years…he’s a disciplinarian, believes in attacking football and plays players in their natural position. He would have been ideal for us.

Agree with most of your points Devoy45. I think the horrendous decline we are seeing has multiple causes including Covid but for me the biggest factor must be the lack of connection players have with the coaching staff. To make the same mistakes week in week out is mind boggling. But why would ambitious players listen to coaches who have little experience at winning in Scotland (even) never mind in EPL and in Europe even if what the coaches are saying is reasonable.I would accept MON and Keane but only till the end of the season and then we need a complete rethink perhaps changes of Board, coaches, manager, players. I think at least Keane was an achiever as a player and would command respect. I think MON would be okay on a personal level. But definitely only till end of season. The Board have made it clear that NL is in until the January rangers match. Would MON and Keane still be willing to come after then? Assuming an unlikely Celtic victory, does NL stay until end of season?

I don’t think it’s as long as that, 3 to 5 years is what I’ve read most often.

However, the vast majority of this time is non-productive time eg form-filling, applying and waiting for funding etc.

Most of that wastage has been cut-out and rather than competing self-interest we are seeing governments expeditiously funding and co-operating internationally to show what can be achieved when all the blockages are removed.

I do not believe that there’s any critical shortening of research, medical trials etc and simply everything and the kitchen sink and lots and lots of people are being thrown at this, as it literally affects everything.

I’m sure there’s lots of impure motives on display eg first world countries ponying up, as it directly affects them and their economies whereas for third world countries no such urgency will be on display.

I’m also sure that Big Pharma will make a fortune but they’ve literally got us by the balls.

Vac or die.

10 to 15 years, Cha.

And I’ll tell you what’s weirder still …

The Gates Foundation applied for a ‘unique Coronavirus’ patent way back in 2006 and it was only granted in 2015, so 9 years there.

Heres the patent number if you want to check it yourself

US2006257852

And what’s even weirder again is that the Gates Foundation then applied for a ‘Coronavirus Vaccine’ patent in 2014, which was granted in double quick time, in January 2019, a couple of weeks before the whole thing broke.

Heres the patent number for the vaccine, applied though Europe this time, if you want to look at it for yourself

EP3172319BI

Have a look yourself.

Im sure it’s just sheer coincidence that Bill Gates, a computer billionaire with no medical experience nor expertise and who got rich selling dodgy stock to a gullible public has his Foundation apply for both the Coronavirus pathogen patent AND the patent for the vaccine 5 to 14 years BEFORE the whole world gets locked down due to a ‘new strain’ of Coronavirus.

Why would a guy like that suddenly be in charge of the whole world’s health when he has 35,000 families in India suing him and his Foundation for the terrible damage and death they have brought to their children and their families.

Personally I wouldn’t trust the cvnt as far as I could throw him, never did.

But as Mike says, it’s up to you, your call.

If you want to put your life into this scum’s hands it has nothing to do with me.

Gerrard and his team are probably the only ones to have benefitted from this deadly pandemic.
Go back to March and of course the anger was on the other side of the city at the results they were recording. Defeats by Hearts and Accies had put to bed any notion of silverware. Gerrard was hanging on by his finger tips.
Over on our side though the majority knew things weren’t right.
Some on here of course were bamboozled by stats. Not by what they were watching.
Although we had won the cup the way we were outplayed was a real eye-opener then of course they defeated us before they capitulated. Lessons weren’t learnt.
Fast forward and in pre season we lost to the teams sevco defeated easily. Some slagged me off for this but it was a real warning sign.
We lost to sevco at home without a single shot on target. Out of Europe twice as top seeds don’t forget. Played without a striker ffs.
Then humiliated by Ross County and nearly again by St Johnstone
The recruitment a joke.
Toney should have been signed instead we went and got an overweight unfit striker in Ajeti.
Probably paid out more fir him in the long run no sell on value but Toney now worth 30 to 40 million.
He was ready to go fit as a fiddle.
Marshall should have been signed instead we got a guy afraid of his shadow
I will ask you a this for i am at a loss, what is Celtics best 11 given all players are fit.
Now I mean Celtics best 11 players not in a positional sense and you will see the huge gaps that need to be addressed
Jullien Ajer Rogic McGregor Forrest Christie McGregor Edouard Griff.
No Goal keeper of quality
No full backs of quality
One proper centre back of quality
One winger of quality
That my friends is the reason we can’t win a game.,and the disaster that has been coming with a recruitment policy that is the worse we have witnessed for a very long time.
It hasn’t been about injuries or covid those have been excuses.
Its been about improper management of out great club in our most historic season since Lisbon.
Lawwell has to go with Lenny as does head of recruitment.
Bring back John Park its been dreadful since he left.

I’m not a member (yet) but if anyone is interested in the governance of Celtic and joining others in trying to do something about it, I would recommend the Celtic Trust:

celtictrust .net

They’ve had a relaunch this year, concentrating on reuniting fans with lost shareholdings and improving communications.

An online meeting was held on Saturday attended by over 300 fans and a report is included on the website.

They’re also talking about setting up a £10pm subscription service in order to buy shares and increase fans’ voices, as part of a concerted block.

I assume this will be an optional extra, as otherwise it would rule out a lot of fans, who would like to be involved but wouldn’t want to spend that.

I’ve already got shares so would be interested in adding those to a fans block but not buying any more.

I believe they’ve had thousands joining up over the weekend but whether this momentum will be maintained or is simply a reflection of the malcontentism mood music of the moment, only time will tell.

They’re also talking ambitiously of 50,000 member subscribers, which equates to £6m per year and £30m over 5 years.

Whether this comes to pass who knows and anyone interested in finding out more should head over there.

Thanks for the reminder, I just voted by proxy via The Chairman, the only option.
It’s a simple online process using the info contained in the paperwork/email sent as notice of the AGM. Anyone who hasn’t voted yet may wish to do so now as time is fast running out.
Unfortunately the Board’s intention to bury Res 12, 2013 (now Res 11, 2020) looks unstoppable but Persistence beats Resistance!

Such things like alternative models of ownership, 50+1 etc are just pie in the sky while the current owners don’t buy into it.

Having said that, the last time I looked Celtic was worth something like £150m, so you would need £75m+1 to vote in your favour to change structure.

Even by the CT’s own most optimistic projections that would take about 12½ years to reach, assuming there were willing sellers. Others could join the good fight but I believe the ‘Desmond block’ currently owns 75%.

Obviously influence comes with significant holding not just majority control. FFS Desmond only has about 30% of shares but everyone defers to him, as if he owns the whole bloody lot.

Trusts operate well in most clubs (ignore the Huns who, as always, are exceptional (exceptionally bad).

I’m also pleased to see that they’re not just single focussed on shareholdings and have already criticised da fence and demanded a meeting with the board, which I believe is scheduled for next week, to outline fans concerns.

As well as shareholding, I see the Trust as a campaign group, who can’t be fobbed off like other fan groups by the PLC, as they have a duty to them.

Bud, you should review the CT site and review their plans, as this seems to be what you’ve gone on about many times.

It might not be but surely worth a look.

They admit that comms wasn’t very good in the past and the pandemic hasn’t helped that.

They seem to be putting a lot of effort in at the moment but whether that will be maintained or simply capitalising on fans current disenchantment remains to be seen.

Club 1690 for gullible Tims.

Board controlled and a joke.

The Cha

Mm.

  1. Voting against all directors and supporting Res11
  2. Criticise and campaign to tear down da fence
  3. Protest against the board this Sunday
  4. Historically supported (against the board’s stance):
  • fans right to sing our songs
  • for safe standing
  • FAC
  • campaigned for living wage

If this is board controlled, then I’m not sure what anti-board looks like.

CT have been at the forefront of every progressive issue over the past 25 years.

You might be confusing them with those in the comfy seats like the Celtic Supporters Association and Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporter Clubs who, as usual, are posted missing in these trying times.

Duncan has a good point here, Cha.

Without fan control it’s only the faces that change, with More Of The Same soup, and the can getting kicked further down the road for another 8 years so even more of us go senile and forget it.

The Cha

Yes, fan ownership is the ultimate goal.

However, you need to factor in where we’re at the moment (engaged fans 2-3% based on votes for Res12 etc?) and what needs to be done (£75m+1 required for control), which will take time.

Also its not an all or nothing situation, a block with only a few % will have significantly more access than plebby individual shareholders like me who have precisely the square root of you know what.

As the % grows then so does the access and influence, which an intransigent board cannot refuse.

I cannot see any alternative on the horizon, so it’s either accept things as they are or try and see a, hopefully, realistic alternative.

I know what you’re both saying but it’ll take years to raise 75 m, giving them even more time to suck on the bones of the carcass of what was once our club.

There’s a much easier and more immediate solution that iv ébène saying all week:

Starve them out.

Not a penny more.

Full refunds on this season’s & last season’s tickets and no buying any Celtic merchandise from anywhere.

They’ll be gone by season’s end, I guarantee it.

We’ve totally c0cked it.

We did nothing in 2012 to kill the survival lie stone dead at its inception.
We did nothing about the fraudulent uefa license.
We did nothing about implementing financial fair play.
We’ve stood back and watched the new lot trample over rules and bringing the game into disrepute whilst they claim to be victims.
We now watch a technically “trading whilst insolvent” clumpany hand us our bottoms on a plate again.

I hate the people running our club for that.

Every single one of them should have been sat down in the summer and reminded whom they represent and how much they are paid to do so. They should all be running through brick walls this year of all years for the fans. The people who have paid to watch the cheating. The people ridiculed in the workplace by the advocates of cheating. The people who are asked what school they went to at job interviews.

This was it. This was the chance to sock it right to every one of the establishment dirt in this bigoted, backward, intolerant “best wee country in the world”.

I will never see this chance again in my lifetime. Shame on them all, from boardroom to dugout to some big headed chancers on the pitch. Shame on them.

Well put. There will be even more misery when they are allowed to ram 55 down our throats…. and the 150 years bullshit.

Why doesn’t Sutton or Hartson (just someone with a high profile)come out and say “This is a historic season with Celtic going for their 10 title in a row and rangers for their 1st title”.

Would love that to happen.

One would think that their continuance of employment is just for pocket change for their finer halves shopping splurge.

What will be the next sellable cliche?

It is disgraceful. Nothing other than a disgrace.

I noticed on another page that the supporters are blaming everyone but the players.
They must take equal responsibility for the shambles that has unfolded this season.
McGregor Brown fir instance giving away needless penalty kicks.
I watched in horror on Sunday at some of the passing and needless fouls given away and thought what the fuck are you doing.
One I remember out of many I think it was still 0_0 Bitton has the ball but decides not to go into the space but play a pass out wide left 20 yards away. Telegraphed but for the challenge by Christie would have led to a goal. Numerous simple passes ended up out for a shy.Players aren’t thinking for the team. All playing for themselves. Attitude has to change and they are hiding letting everyone else get the blame.
Worry is they are happy to do so.
Well sorry but you lot are as equal to or even more so to blame than Lenny the board or anyone else.
For I am sick to death of seeing you all pass the buck and not burst a gut for this team.
So stop fuckin hiding and man up you play for a cause not a football team. Or fuck off now and let the young players in to show you how its done.

He’ll only be gone once it’s certain to Peter & the SFA that the Huns have won the league, Cha.

When there’s no chance whatsoever that a new manger could turn it around.

In fact, don’t be surprised if he’s still there in May bleating about how he ‘did all he could’, like that scene in Goodfellas when the guys who blew Tommy’s head off told Jimmy the same thing.

’We did all we could. (In the best interests of The Company.)’

They’ll skip the last bit mind.

The Cha

Sadly I suspect you’re correct.

We’ve lost 6, drawn 4 and won only 2 of our last 12 games and we’re going to review “progress” in January.

Does that mean we do better than lose 3, draw 2 and win 1 then we’ve made “progress” and he gets to keep the gig until the end of the season?

One here for that loud mouthed culchie

The United States is sicker than ever
The U.S. spends more than any other country on healthcare yet has more chronic health issues than any other country. Half of all adults in the U.S. have a chronic illness, and nearly half will eventually die of cancer.  We are exposed to a cocktail of synthetic chemicals from birth: polluted air and water and processed food laced with pesticides, to which we add pharmaceutical drugs, including vaccines, into the mix.
Pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines contain multiple synthetic chemicals that should NEVER be put into the body. They are part of the reason we have skyrocketing chronic health issues that have somehow become the new “normal” in our society. But this is not normal. And science is clear: Most, if not all, of these health issues, can be linked to pharmaceutical treatments and drugs.
In fact, the health care system is now the leading cause of death in the U.S.’

You misplaced your trust, Broxburn, and it’ll fvck you right up if you’re not careful.
