Celtic Diary Saturday April 30: Come On You Bhoys In Green

Right, thats the dug walked, the hoose tidied and I’m away out.

Shes at her work, and i’m away to watch the game.

Not in Edinburgh, because I don’t fancy having my pockets picked or catching scabies.

Celtic can clinch five in a row for just the third time in their unbroken history by beating Hearts today.

And with beating, nay surging Hearts, thats how it can be done.

All that came before doesn’t count. The whinging, the moauning, the you’re not ver good chants, the latter, granted , was mostly me, can all be put to one side as the National Health Service, already under strain, prepares the big fridge full of livers so that they can be handily dispensed to usually clean living individuals who might need one, say by about tea time.

And we can forget about anything else.

Its all about what happens on the park today.

For instance, although we keep telling you who is going to be the next gaffer, in the Scotsman, Ronny Deila proved just how much he really doesn’t like John Collins, by suggesting that the sleekit two faced number two-see what I did there ? -could step into his shoes, and put up with all the shite that comes with the job…

“He has been unbelievably important for me and has so much to offer. He is different from a lot of people in Scotland – he dares to speak and say what he means.”

Putting that into perspective, my old English Granda, forty year down the pit, punched me square in the face when I suggested I should get a job a mile or two underground.

Keeping it short today, as I promised the wife I would clean the windows before i popped out to watch the game, she makes me do it as soon as we can’t see out of them, and I’ll need her later on to put the bail money up.

All I have to do today is watch the game and drink beer, and not necessarily in that order,

and no matter how it turns out, remember , things could be worse…

Mark Warburton has admitted he has a job on his hands to improve Rangers’ image in England – as most people still view the club as ‘in distress’

And with the bank, and with prospective transfers, and with humanity in general.

Whatever you do today, and wherever you watch the game, be safe, and don’t make an arse of yourself.

Which is pretty much what she said to me this morning.

Remember, you can’t get to ten if you don’t have five.

Come on you Bhoys in Green.

I’d make this Diary a little longer, but kick off is in a couple of hours, and I can’t find my jacket.

Have a good day.

It’s good to see our best dEFEnder back. 😉

I would’ve have taken Collins as temp after Hun game. He did well initially at Hibs and he’d get us over the line with a bit of style.

All the hysteria is just ignorant pish. I remember Peter Grant getting it tight under Mowbray. The No. 2 can only do what he’s told.

Not a long term apt but a sign that it failed utterly rather than the appalling Deila farewell tour, as if he was some all conquering hero.

The cha effe has always been the easy target when there has been 6/7 serial tossers every game in front of him,he at least can control/pass the ball he was excellent to-day,big Kazim did ok he at least gives us a bit of strength in an otherwise paperweight forward line.

BJF

Bitton and Brown had very good first half, great attitude all round. Delia obviously saw in training what Richards was capable of, classy goal and such a physical presence every where including at the back. Poor Ronnie he will be more remembered for the 3 leagues he didn’t win that yhec2 he did, wait a minute he has only been here 2 years. So if the next manager doesn’t win the league do we cheer him for losing or is it Moyes/ Lambert/ Mackay/etc out.

maryhillbhoy

Reply to  BJF

BJF I always try to see fellow supporters point of view but I have to ask what the fuck are you talking about mate? It has been Ronnie out because the football is largely dreadful.
I do agree that CKR has something about him as evidenced by his 37 Turkish caps so Ronnie getting a performance out of him is hardly a stroke of genius, however today is a day to acknowledge our team is the best in the country and just enjoy

Maryhillbilly Celtic had a real attitude about them today yes we will celebrate winning the league and can’t forget the big game let downs especially the lack of European challenge. WhatcIbam talking about is actually pretty easy to understand if you think it through. What do we expect from Ronnie Delia’s successor, it seems we have created a situation for ourselves ?

Bjf a celtic boss is always expected to win the league, nothing new there mate

BJF

I think the new manager needs time to build something that lasts but some times winning the league requires pragmatic actions and the two don’t often work together. If we are always expected to win the league my worry is that we sacrifice one for the other and we get a season by season attitude with which ever manager is currently in post having his head called for because he doesn’t win the league.

I’m just about to celebrate with a cup of Horlicks and three pills. charlie described me as a crackpot yesterday but I can assure him I do not mix my drugs. However, the wife was doing some weeding today so I am taking advantage. I have never missed the chance of a bit of grass in my puff. I am not commenting by Monday, phone missing persons. As for yourself, stay away from the Tay when you come out of the pub. I am just thinking of the poor fish if you fall in.

By the way, I have had the word about the caption. It’s two in a row but I bribed Ralph to give it to you. I would hate for anyone to have to clean up the mess if you lose.

I had another look at the photo and was thinking

“Once upon a time there was a Pied Piper and his name was Big Richard”

Have really good one and the same goes to everyone on here. Just remember the wife deserves a treat too, mike:)

Evening Bhoys,
Yesterday I asked for the team to turn up and they did!
Thought we played well today but would have liked to have seen more determination in the tackling at their equaliser.
The team had got over the finishing line in spite of Deila but it’s 5 in a row, I’m going to celebrate it!

The car is washed. It is simply a matter of a bit of polish to finish it off in style and, hopefully, that will be completed next week. To do so would be sweet agony in that we should not have been subjected to the nervous run-in we experienced but, on the other hand, I would like to get it up no other team more than the McInnes bottlers. For this weekend, and hopefully next, we should simply celebrate winning the biggest and best even if not in the manner we would have wished for. I think it was Monti who mentioned there was a lot of work still to be done but on another day. The need for a whole raft of issues to be addressed and problems resolved should not interfere with acknowledging our 5th title in a row.
