Celtic Diary Wednesday November 12: The Good, the Bad and the Made Up.

On August 16 this year, Fergus McCann raised the league flag at Celtic Park, and with the purchase of several bunnets to raise money for the Celtic Foundation, £6,000 went to good causes.

Mine is on a mission to spread the word and convert the godless. It was last seen at a Rangers bar in Lanzarote.

20141018_142102 (2)

I hope its still there.

Tony Hamilton, CEO of the Charity Foundation , thanked the support;

“I am very grateful to everyone who bought a bunnet and to the club, who provided this opportunity for us. Our next big effort is our Christmas Appeal, where we have set ourselves a target of positively changing the lives of many local people at what can be an enormously difficult time.”

We’ll put the details of how you can help on the site when we get them.

As you are probably aware, Celtic Park is being used this week, but its been hijacked for an international between Ireland, which is a country, and Scotland which didn’t want to be.

The two sides are managed by ex-Celts, who are assisted by ex-Celts and  captained by a Celt and an ex-Celt, so theres plenty of interest in the game.

Scott Brown, Celtic and Scotland captain, is looking forward to it;

“I’m sure there are a lot of Celtic and Scotland fans who are looking forward to it and on my own behalf I am relishing pretty much every game for Scotland just now and every game for Celtic.

“Both teams are in a good place just now and for Scotland it would be great if we could get a victory because Ireland started really well and they got a good result away to Germany as well so the group is still wide open.

Its certainly different for a Scotland side to still be in with a shout after they’ve actually played some games in a tournament, so it might get exciting. Ireland , too , have started well, and with the possibility of three teams qualifying for the last 24, both managers will be out for a win.

The media, noted for their unionists tendencies, have predicted a “good old fashioned Britsh cup tie “, which shows what they know about football.

Neither of the managers are naive enough to forget whats at stake, so don’t expect a gung ho approach from either. In fact, if you like a trip to the bookies, and want to come out with at least the bus fare home, pick a 0-0 or 1-0 to Scotland.

Anyway, international football doesn’t get the butterflies going like it used to, but something occured to me yesterday that does.

After mentioning in the Diary that John Guidetti wouldn’t be likely to go back to Feyenoord, and that English sides wouldn’t have enough respect for the Scottish league to move for Guidetti, it occured to me that I was, as ever, full of poo poo.

Southampton have been known to raid Glasgow on more than one occasion, and are delightd with the return on their investment. They are managed by Ronald Koeman, who was Guidettis manager at Feyenoord.

 If Guidetti chooses money over glory and adulation, thats where he’ll end up. Which has prompted an attempt at the world swearing record;

Southampton are currently second in the EPL. We need them to collapse after Christmas. If Guidetti is offered more money and Champions League he’s off to the south coast.

 The Scotsman, which one would think would be a rampant radical rag seeking independence, bows yet again to the mother country and all its wealth with this story;

Craig Gordon still has desires to play in England

You can tell the journalist thought of the headline before he had even spoken to Gordon.

Gordon is content with the levels of both form and fitness he has achieved since joining Celtic on a two-year contract in the summer and has not ruled out being able to test himself again in the top flight of English football. “That’s open-ended, that’s a possibility,” said Gordon. “But I’ve only just started back again so there is plenty of time for that. I am still only 31 and I’m not setting myself any boundaries. I’m going to try and do the best I can, wherever that takes me.

“You never put a ceiling on things because you never know what can happen. You have to be ambitious – and I certainly am – to do the best you can.

“Whether that’s here or regardless of where it is, I want to be the best and play the best and play in the best competitions and play for my national team. So that’s the goals I set myself. But there is no top level to that.”

The rest of the article, some thousand words or so, concerns Gordon making a possible international comeback, and how he is delighted just to be back playing.

But that doesn’t attract enough attention.

And notably, the Scottish press aren’t commenting on the displacement of the Thunder to Lancashire

fans were right. Neil Lennon is a brilliant appointment. For the 1st time in years the is bouncing…

This man was seen hiding at a Lancashire mill yesterday, when he should have been training

So, its Gordon to England , Commons to Bolton  Guidetti to Southampton, van Dijk to Arsenal, and Brown to Crystal Palace. And happily for Brown,  Graeme Souness thinks he’s good enough for the EPL !

“I think he is a very busy, aggressive midfield player,” said Souness. “You need someone like that who has a never-say-die attitude, gets in about people, who makes people rush passes and makes people make passes they don’t want to make.

“You definitely have to have a player like that in your team. I’m sure Scott could play for certain teams down there.”

But not all of them, obviously. He’s Scotlands captain. How about talking him up?  Instead of patronisingly telling him he could probably get a game for Burnley or Corinthians or whoever else is near the bottom of that league.

Have you seen some of the donkeys in the EPL ? Not that you would hear Sky TV-or anyone else-actually pointing out that they are donkeys and some of the teams are shite ?

Its all about marketing. The product no longer matters.

Not only are they trying to flog our players, they are actively encouraging them to go. Is it any wonder our game gets so little tv money, and others think so lowly of our national league when we keep telling them how piss poor it is ? The media in Scotland, and the powers at Hampden are guilty of costing the game millions in sponsorship money-theres still no sign of a sponsor for the league, lazily named after its English counterpart, and still no sign of anyone flinging Neil Doncaster out onto the car park and telling him to fuck off.

Anything else I can do to spoil your day ?

Its sort of a Diary tradition to laugh at those less fortunate than ourselves when we get a hit of bad news, or in this case potentially bad news.

Mike Ashley, who is definitely not in control at Second Rangers, and who has simply sent a couple of his lackeys into Ibrox to help make the tea and keep the place tidy, has lent them another £1m.

This comes on the back of the revelation by Irish journalist and expert on all the shennanngians down Kinning Park way Phil MacGhiollabhain that Ashleys lads didn’t like the look of the books when they got to read them.

Howeve, we can reveal what the money is really for. Ignore all these rumours about them trading while insolvent. It doesn’t matter if they are anyway. No-one has the balls to do anything about it.

As you are aware, the new club cannot afford a scout to find players to help them on their journey, and are relying on the IT man, I forget his name, and I’m trying to avoid their websites in case the police take my computer away, to find potential signings.

He’s found one. Someone who typifies the spirit and tradition of the club, someone who could put bums back on seats and hooves back in the corridors of Ibrox.

I’ve watched this video, of  Sandro Weiser, of Swiss side Aarua, and he does seem to have the full package to be an Ibrox legend.

Sandro Weiser

Away from Scottish football, Ched Evans, the convicted rapist , has begged to be allowed to play football again, now that he has paid his debt to society. He’ll struggle, especially when he finds out there are no walls to bounce the ball back off.

Away from football, the man who invented predictive text has died. He’s being laid to rest on Sundial.

Willie Lyons was collecting the Empire Exhibition Trophy in yesterdays diary, spotted by quite a few of you.

Who is this fine fellow in his uniform while doing his national service ?

Finally, a big hail hail to the latest Celtic fan to be acquitted after the amsterdam riots last year . Hoorible place, doesn’t deserve a capital letter. And thats a deliberate mistake in “horrible ” as well  . Surprisingly, its not been mentioned-as far as I can se-in the mainstream media, so i can’t tell you his name, but thats not too important.

The important thing is his acquittal.

Fans Against Criminalisation-FAC on twitter gave us the news

Great news today, another Dam Bhoy acquitted – police evidence not believed – vicious assault on Celtic fan shown in court.

And a summary of the story so far-

Another Dam Bhoy acquitted today. 3 acquittals, 5 appeals and one case still to be heard.

If Carl Jungkebhoy is out there, maybe he could furnish us with the details…

Sandro Weiser’s challenge is a mere caress when compared to the moustached beast of Ipox in his hey day.

That fine young chap in the uniform looks like Stan Petrov.

I was put off going to Scotland games, late 70’s,due to abuse Celtic players got.Different now.Come Friday,it will just be ex-Celtic players, and racist abuse coming from the Tartan Army.
Club ALWAYS before country for me.Like Scotland to do well, for
Celtic players playing. But,with Irish blood,ALWAYS want Republic to win.
So,Tartan Army Tims, sorry but my money and heart is with Eire.Viva la Republic,2-1,to the bhoys in GREEN !!

As a regular Scotland game goer I can tell you Scotland fans are firmly behind Celtic players in the bluue or the pink as well as loving wee Strachan. As they should be of course.

Desi,I would love Scotland to qualify, only because it’s good for
the Celtic players,to be involved in a major tournament, and it’s good for our game. But,through family, would prefer Ireland,
before Scotland.Just like the Anglo-Scots,who play for Scotland.
I love WGS,did a great job at Celtic, but watch laptop loyal and
Tartan Army, turn against him,if results start to go against him !

I stopped supporting Scotland when I witnessed “loyal” members of The Tartan Army hurling abuse and showers of spit at wee Jinky back in erm, a long time ago….

Jimmy – 1 of Scotland’s all time greatest players (23 caps) – was clearly not fit to the lace the boots of Ranger’s rival winger Willie Henderson (29 caps)

Nuff said?

HS. I like you have not watched Scotland since the England home international in 78 just before the debacle in Argentina and very much for the same reason.
Although my blood-line is a bit more confused (if that’s the right word). Italian and Irish Grandparents, so I have a good reason to lend my support to any of the three.
Simply based on the fact that Scotland’s qualification record has been so abysmal for so long, I really would like to see a …………. win.
To be quite honest, what will be , will be.
Internationals don’t do it for me, although when Italy won the World Cups in 82 and 2006 and the Republic did the biz at Italia 90 and when Scotland beat England……
Confused was the right word after all.
I’ll just stick to the Bhoys.

Andybhoy,
Like you,Celtic first and foremost. If given the choice,Celtic to qualify for next season’s CL group stage,or Ireland and
Scotland, both qualifying for France.I would take Celtic, all day long.
As Desi say’s,Celtic players don’t get the abuse, that Celtic
greats got,in our day. But,I don’t feel any affinity for Scotland,
after years of abuse, our players were subjected to.
I support Celtic,ONLY,just like Liverpool,Man.Utd. have many
English fans, who also put club before country.

Born in Norn Ireland, lived in glasgow for four great years. Always support the Jocks against any one, except Ireland. Even though the Rep abondoned us when De Valera sent Collins to London to sign up to partition, I d still rather follow them than the Linfied in Green that is the Norn Ireland fan base.

So come on you boys in green, into these fried mars bar making freedom bottling surrender monkeys – 2-0 the Rep please

I think that every fan that’s a season ticket holder off the clubs in the scottish spfl and the fans that pay to be members of the tartan army should have a vote to see who would be president/Vice President of the sspfl/sfa and they have to stand every 3 or 4 years.
And if they don’t come up with what they say they will do in there manifest they can’t stand again.
Let’s us fans stand up to this mob who don’t give a fuck for us fans,we have done it before when they tried to sneak the HUNS in lets get all the heads of the supporters associations together to say we want a say in our game.

Hi Bhoys! – Yeah. I’m still alive & kicking (if maintaining a low profile) but – as you can see – I do still read the diary! I don’t have any “inside” info but here’s the gist:

The ‘tic fan – let’s call him Davie O – suffered head injuries when trunchoened by mounted polis. He could’ve gotten off with an on the spot fine of 700 euro & gone straight home but couldn’t afford it. Polis threatened him with being held for 2 weeks. – Others were told the same & coughed up (only to have that tarred by The Daily Orcread as admission of guilt)

They charged him but released him a few hours later (not sure why but*..) deciding to take him to court instead.

Anyway, <1 year later (yesterday) it finally came to trial. * The judge deemed the police evidence as "unreliable" (i.e a pack of effing lies) when they denied causing his head injuries, claiming instead that he'd INJURED HIMSELF THROWING A BIKE AT POLICE (you couldn't make this up – even in Amsterdam). He's now the 3rd Dam Bhoy to be acquitted of all charges. Good chance he'll be able to claim compensation.

There is now 1 Celtic fan in a similar situation i.e. 1st trail has yet to come to court. That leaves another 5- the 6 who got a fast-track trial 21 Nov 2013 minus John Q who got acquitted then (essentially "wrongful arrest") – who are still awaiting a re-trail/appeal date.

Cheers!

CarlJungleBhoy

… PS “Injuring himself by throwing a bike at cops” is only one of a long list of blatant police lies which have yet to be properly questioned (see http://carljunglebhoy.blog.co.uk/2013/11/27/amsterdamned-travesty-of-justice-17094670/ and E-Tims archives
)

If the judge at the trial 21 Nov 13 had shown any common sense at all he would have seen though the lies and classed all the other so-called police “evidence” as unreliable. But we’re hopeful that #DamJustice will finally be done

HS. Never heard it, I have long stopped listening to these Unionist/ Orange fucktards on radio hunland and radio Clyde (does anyone listen to Clyde these days?).
It seems the more TFOD disintegrate, the more vitriol is spewed towards the Celtic/Irish/Catholic community.
It is high time the head honchos at Celtic Park spoke out about some of the imbalanced and downright sectarian journalism that is emanating from the SMSM.
If this was happening in the Republic, the press here would be having a field day and you can be assured we wouldn’t hear the end of it.
How stupid of the twat Weir saying take the game to Castle Greyskull, Celtic Park is far more intimidating than that shit hole and 60k fans is better than 50k. Also, far less chance of the leccy getting cut off in Paradise.

I find supporting Scotland hard because of the sfa. Those shower of bastards have had it in for us from day one. From the Irish flag affair to the Cadette signing right through to this Tonev case they will do everything in their power to make life hard for us. Also the fact that Celtic players representing Scotland have been called fenian bastards by the fun loving tartan army sticks in my throat. Fuck em all, up the Republic, altogether now Soldiers are we ……………

I am like many Celtic Supporters Scots Born with strong Irish Connections on both sides of my family.
Celtic first and foremost all the way for me.
Scotland next because this is where I grew up and the Republic third because that’s where we all came from.
I got fucked off watching Scotland for many years from the Brown years forward I found the Football extremely hard on the eyes for the most part.
I think watching Celtic has had a lot to do with that.
Now Wee Chesney has them playing a more dynamic game I think,we are organised and effective on the counter with players who can hurt you in different areas of Park.
That aside I have to agree with Wild Goose the SFA have been really bad for the National and Domestic game.
The Tonev thing has been handled so fucking badly I think.
One question no one seems to have considered in all the shite surrounding it:

What if it’s Logan who has the issues regarding Race and Immigration?
Go check out his background and career since his Breakthrough at City….He could well have an issues with Foreign players I think.
