We found a beautiful tribute to the Lisbon Lions online that we thought worth sharing to mark this weekend’s first European Cup / Champions League final in Lisbon, since Celtic won the cup in 1967.
It’s recently been created by Spanish TV and has interviews with Celtic’s two goalscorers, Tommy Gemmell and Stevie Chalmers, as well as our iconic captain Billy McNeill.

It was surreal at the time. We, as a people, are generally programmed to glorious failure…………..Hard to grasp we had actually won the thing.

My late father’s pride,in recalling his Lisbon stories,went through my mind,while watching those clips of our unique
triumph.How ironic then,that our ‘ Big Cup ‘ caused Murray sleepless nights,that he tried to buy it with borrrowed millions.Ultimately,being GREEN with ENVY caused the DEATH
of their club.So,our European Cup,is as relevant today,as it was back in the Lions heyday.
