Heartbreaking news. Very painfully sad.

I remember the look of joy on his face at the Cliftonville game, and the reaction of the fans.

Hopefully his family take some solace from the fact so many cared and helped in whatever way they could.

RIP Oscar. YNWA

I have just logged on to the site after watching the U20s win 5 in a row only to be hit with this devastating news. No amount of success can ever surpass the impact of this young child on all of us. If anyone ever wanted a definition of courage and determination then they only have to look at this brave young boy and at his so, so committed parents. We all cared so much for them that I cannot believe a single member of the Celtic family will let this day pass without a tear or two. It would be a fitting tribute, if somewhere in your diary files, this date is logged to remember his anniversary each year.

Thank you Oscar for brightening our lives during your short five years. Thank you to the Knox family for being an example to all of love and devotion in a world that does not often have it to show.

R.I.P Wee Oscar. You and all your loved ones are in my prayers – always.

H H with sadness.

I’ve got 4 children, can’t start to imagine how I would cope with losing any one of them.
Don’t believe in god and things like this re-affirm my beliefs. If there is a god, s/he is a twisted bastard.
No idea how the family will get through this.
RIP Oscar – hope your parents find strength from somewhere.
Things like this make you appreciate just how lucky you are.

Not sure this was the occasion to make your theological views so vehemently known, Andy. How do you know the Knox family are not very committed to a faith. Such words as yours would not help nor does it console those how DO rely on a God for consolation. I am sad I have to make this comment but I think your words are very wrong.

Well said Pensionerbhoy.

A deserately sad time for Oscar’s family and friends and anyone that came to know of him. There are no positives, however, I choose to thank god for putting a miracle like Oscar into this world. In a painfully short life time he has touched so many lives and surely leaves the world unwitting of the indelible mark that he made on it.

Fearless indeed. RIP Oscar
