Reamonns Bhoys and Ghirls

Words on the man behind the Thai Tims, from the Holy Poet.

Reamonn’s Bhoys and Ghirls.                                  8th
March 2014.

Through nineteen golden summers, he brought sunshine
through his life

Then callously was murdered, ended by a young man’s
knife

Seven hundred at your funeral, thousands more walked
down your street

To pay respects to one young man, one too late to
meet.

Three years or more have passed now, but your name
will never die

For as long as there’s a Celtic, you’ll never be
denied

That very special honour for your work with The Thai
Tims

Where you taught the English language through singing
Celtic’s hymns.

Your smiling face was shown on the screens round
Paradise

On the day we beat the Gers 3 Nil, you surely heard
our cries

The songs we sang were Celtic’s but our hearts and
minds looked on

To the Bhoy who wore those Hoops with pride who
lives on although he’s gone.

That mourning spread to Thailand where you taught
our Celtic songs

And the children known as Thai Tims now feel that
they belong

To the family of Celtic who love them as they are

They’re the Angels taught by Reamonn and he’s their
shining star.

Their happy voices singing have gained fame
worldwide

But brought to sing at Celtic Park filled their young
hearts with pride

As tears rolled down fans’ faces, they would not dry
their eyes

For below them stood The Thai Tims, home at last in
Paradise.

God bless you Reamonn Gormley for the pleasure that
you gave

To the saintly kids of Thailand, in their hearts
your name engraved

“They say a dragon lasts forever and so does Tim
Malloy”

In the name of Reamonn Gormley, one unique Celtic
bhoy.

Holy Poet

Moving words worthy of the life of the young hero you celebrate. We should never forget these fans whose sacrifice for good shines like the light uncovered from the bushel. They too are Celtic legends and must ever be in our thoughts. Gone but never forgotten. To us,Reamonn! you were an example in life, and now a challenge in death.

Rest in peace, my boy and H H to you and the Thai Tims.
