Head!

Head by Brian53

The Head of the Scottish Intelligence section sat with his head in his hands, he had known this moment would come for a long time but it still didn’t make him feel any better. He had checked and double checked but all his informants had given him the same information, it was time to call ‘N’

‘N’ sat in her plush office at a secret location in Edinburgh; complaints about the new law covered her desk. Everyone that complained was going into her black book; she would have to get a secretary, in fact a few secretaries as well as a couple dozen more books. The phone rang, she waited for her superstitious 7 rings as that was meant to bring happiness, she answered in her huskiest voice “N”

The head counted the rings, he knew when she would answer, didnt she know it was unlucky to be superstitious? “Ma’am, sorry to call when you are busy but I have just come across some information that might be important.” “Is it about the law?” she said, “I’d rather not discuss it on the phone ma’am given the recent hackings, can we arrange to meet.” “Ok tonight, same time and place as usual.” “Do you think that’s wise ma’am” but all he heard was a dialling tone.

The Head got there early, he liked to scout the place just in case, and why she always wanted to meet in Glasgow was beyond him. The waiter showed him to their usual corner table; it was at its dark and dingy best. He pulled out an e-lite and slowly relaxed he liked this district. The ‘Burns Howff’ was reputed to have been somewhere close by but he had never been able to find out exactly where. He had given up trying to find out when his agents had started to go missing.

‘N’ appeared in the doorway, bhoy he could smell her awful perfume from here and that hairstyle? He was sure it was a wig. She waddled over to the table a grimace on her face that she thought was a smile. He was sure this was the only date she got these days. ‘N’ ordered a Bacardi and coke with a Carlsberg chaser. “Right, let’s get down to business, what have you got for me head”

“A new gang as appeared on the scene ma’am.” “What here in Glasgow?” “Yes ma’am I’m afraid so and my informants tell me that it will have a devastating effect on your law, the one that every sane person is opposed to.” She stared at him “Don’t worry they’re all in my black book, mad or sane.” “Tell me Head, are your informants reliable?” “Yes Ma’am” “Can you tell me who they are” “No ma’am but I can give you the SI5 code name of my top agent” “I’m waiting” “My top agent is ‘the sharp suited man’ and he has never let me down yet”

It had been a long evening and ‘N’ lay naked on the bed, she loved Head she always had, but he was gone now, back to his secret world of espionage. She puffed on her e-cigar and pondered what he had told her. She had authorised him to send in an undercover agent, she wanted to know everything about these Rory Bremner’s
