126 years old last week.
Charlie Saiz sent us these words….
” A Celtic Story ”
Remember ,remember the 6th of November
A Club was born on that November morn
A Club was born on that November morn
To feed the poor the main agenda
A Sligo bhoy from Ballymote had desires to feed the many
In StMary’s Hall they answered the call
To create a Club without a penny
In StMary’s Hall they answered the call
To create a Club without a penny
John Kearins wish to feed the poor Came to pass in 1887
The thought to form a Football Club came to him straight from Heaven
A Club was formed on humble grounds from Hope and Charity
A wish to play a certain way with with style and dignity
The Bold Bhoys’ went out to face their foe a team they called the Rangers
They scored five goals conceded two whilst ignoring all the dangers
McCallum scored the opening goal on that glorious 28th of May
They say he made a sign to god and created The Celtic Way
The team was formed from Hibee bhoys who answering Walfrids call
They had come and play to feed the poor by simply kicking a ball
Many years have come to pass since that day in May
Nothings changed the fire still burns
And we still play the Celtic Way.
As we look now back at the ancient past the achievements and the glory
126 years of charity at the heart of the Celtic story
Every day history is made along an unbroken golden thread
Stretching from the birth in Glasgows Calton
Till present days paradise in old Parkhead.
Eat your heart out McGonagall! Admirable sentiments, well expressed!
What a wonderful football club we have. So much more than football, it is a credit to every single person who contributed positively over 126 years. Thank you Fergus. . . . . . . . especially when you take a glance over the city.
Nice one Charles.

126 years and getting better and stronger every year. God I love being a Celt.
Charlie
Makes you want to cry – I don’t mean the poetry, by the way. The longer I live, the more blessed I feel for being part of this great club and reading, listening and meeting all you incomparable guys who support it. Well done to you, C. S., for encapsulating the best of the best of 126 years in such lyrical terms. And happy birthday to all you fellow Celts.
