Celtic Diary Monday January 5 2026: Uncomfortably Numb

Even after our Korean Messi opened the scoring in Saturday’s Glasgow derby one knew it wouldn’t last.

It’s what Celtic do these days under our own French General de Gormless. Play quite well, but as soon as the opposition get time to think about how the hoops are set up, it all falls apart.

It’s getting harder to give a toss. After all, if the board doesn’t care, the players have lost interest and the manager, well, the lord alone knows what’s going on in his head, then why should we ?

The 3-1 defeat at the hands of “rangers “, with all of their their goals  being avoidable should have been the final straw in the catastrophic tenure of wilfried nancy, whose mask has now slipped alongside his capital letters.

This morning, Paul “the football doctor ” Tisdale should be hauled in and asked what the fuck is going on in is head as well. There is no evidence to suggest nancy should have been a candidate for the Celtic job, he’s shown nothing so far to suggest he can actually do it, and frankly, he’ll probably never get another job outside American college football again.

Someone has to be held accountable for this car crash.

Not that one. We know who did that. It was Dijon Sterling, of “rangers “, early on Sunday morning. He has been arrested and charged.

Our own disaster, however, has also been self inflicted. Tisdale arrived at Celtic Park around a year ago, and when he is put in front of the board to explain his novel and refreshing way of recruitment , he might not want to mention the players he’s brought in either.

None of whom have set the heather alight, and two of whom are already away…Inamura, to Tokyo, and Simpson Pusey, to Cologne.

Inamura, incidentally, was described as a club signing by former manager Brendan Rodgers, a club signing being a player he first heard of when they turned up for training, and Simpson Pusey ?

What was the point of that ?

It appears to be club policy not to include the manager in the selection of transfer targets, but to present him a list of players to choose from, which is fine, if the person drawing up the list adheres to the managers initial request.

Tisdale didn’t adhere to it, and several players were dismissed as not good enough, but the Football Quack prescribed them anyway, which led to Rodgers exit.

When Dermot Desmond threw his toys out of the pram shortly after that, Rodgers remained quiet. No statement, no interviews, no fuss.

He didn’t have to, as it turns out. There is no need to select a jury to decide who is guilty in this case.

Tisdale should be relieved of his duties today, on the grounds that he isn’t capable of performing them to the standard required.

And as for whatever database he is using….

When that is done, the manager and his coaching staff should be summoned, and informed that the club is now moving in a different direction, and that their services and qualities are no longer required.

In order to clarify that, as English is not their first language, we believe, I’ve prepared this short note in order to avoid any misunderstandings.

…with an accompanying video just to be sure.

I’m not even going to bother explaining why. We can all see it. It’s a results business , and he isn’t getting them.

And while the person responsible for getting the manager is responsible for bringing in players, then it’s not going to get any better.

Act now, and there’s a chance of salvaging something from this season, delay and…well, it’s already started.

On Friday, we had this…

wilfried nancy (no caps) demonstrates to the Celtic board that a narrow 2-2-2-2 formation is the way forward in modern football.

Today….

I agree on Tisdale, as well as Nancy, but the same ones who appointed him are the big problem.

Unless we’re happy with the lucky bag approach and hope that an Ange falls in our laps then it will be ever this.

“Ah, so we pretend we’re shite, so the other teams drop their guard then we come storming back. Wilf, yer mental”

Celtic a laughing stock – the signs of decline began in last January when inexplicably we sold Kyogo( for a pittance) and then in the Scottish Cup final when we allowed a mediocre Aberdeen snatch victory! The summer window was supposed to give Brendan Rodgers the squad he craved, what happened NOTHING we became even weaker than at the end of the season! Then disaster strikes a loss to Almaty. By now Brendan had had enough and for his own sanity he handed in his resignation! Martin O’Neill comes in and instils a self belief in the players and we are back in the title race and on a roll. Boom in comes Nancy and he f**k’s up all Martin’s good work and we are battered by St Mirren. Why is this DUD still at Parkhead? We need answers and a change NOW!!

Can you explain how that works again.

The recent statement from the Registered supported clubs summed it up nicely. The Board have buried their heads in sand, no comms, no response, treat customers like dirt. Nicholson, who masquerades as a CEO can’t go to the toilet without Desmond’s approval. The season has been written off by the Board, perhaps the fans should now boycott games as only when we fail to qualify for European football and the share value drops will he take action

The Affiliation of Celtic Supporters’ Clubs has been collecting votes regarding future collective action from official CSC’s across the world and, in our case, the vote in favour of a total boycott of our oncoming home fixture against Dundee Utd has been practically unanimous. The vast majority has also voted in favour of intensifying the boycott re the purchase of merchandise and I would expect a huge majority of CSCs to be voting along the same lines. A statement from the Affiliation will appear shortly. This absolute nightmare situation must be brought to an end soon. We’ll probably get around 25-30k inside the stadium this Saturday.

At least we can now save our season if MON gets the gig. The Motherwell head coach Jens Askou wouldn’t be a bad shout either. Hope Nicholson buckles under the pressure and chucks it as well.

No, sorry, nancy, you are not allowed to take the merch with you on the way oot! Thank goodness! I do not blame nancy, it is on you if you hire me for the job, wonder how much he has earnt for the worse management appointment anytime, anywhere??? Hopefully tisdale and nicholson next. Has MON’s found his trackie yet? He surely has been approached on bended knees by the excuse of a board we still endure? HH!

I’m guessing Nicholson had a look on here before asking DD what to do-do then DD sacked the lot of them. He’ll probably blame it on Rodgers though!
Maresca’s available, I think! Anyway, I’m sure MON and Shaun can get us to the summer if asked and maybe even win something.

Interim team to resume at Parkhead until end of season. That’s what should have happened all along. Instead we rushed into an ill thought out panic appointment much as we have repeatedly done with player recruitment and the results are there to see on the pitch.
