Another nightmare performance from Hatate, the king of misplaced passes and lost possession. Any chance of offloading him to England in January?
I’d have said NEVER to that not so long ago Owen but he’s too much of a let-down too often. I’ve given him every chance since his injury, being so far from home and all the rest of it but I’ve just about run out of patience, a gift I didn’t get much of to begin with, now and would be inclined to say sell and concentrate on Bernardo, Engels and McCowan instead. He’s got huge talent but it’s not displayed often enough.
He’s been off the boil for a while now. The occasional flash of brilliance doesn’t compensate for the amount of times an attack breaks down through him. He’s made no secret of his ambition to play in the EPL so I think we should offload him there if we get an offer. We have plenty of talent in the midfield to manage without him anyway.
There’s no way any EPL club are interested in him, given his current form.
O’Riley was nearly consistently excellent, so attracted attention but Hatate’s light years away from that level.
Ambition is fine but so’s realism and his current form would be lucky to attract a mid-table English Championship club.
I say Sell! Sell!
When the bargains are ripe
and the bhoy he’s pissed off anyway.
Sell, sell, to our hearts’ content!
Sure, and aren’t we a selling club onyway!?
I would say shite, but tonight’s C word is constipated
Tonight’s SOTM was Fatpate
Another 2 points absolutely thrown away, just like Brugge and Hatate guilty in both matches. But he’s far from alone in that.
We should be on 13 pts with another possible 4. When will we ever learn…….?
FFS what is it with this site now? Another short observation on a match and hooked?
Hooked observation, cheers Cha!
I share the disappointment, yes, the pitch was poor, but they were dreadful and were there for the taking.
I don’t know if it was the scars of previous sucker punches but you need to be brave and accept that can happen and go for it.
We’re still in a qualifying place but the margins are getting thin and we could slip a further 3 places after tonight to just be above the relegation places.
It also makes the Young Boys game probably a ‘must win’ and, although they’re pointless, it makes it more pressure than it should have been.
Even if Villa have qualified in the Top 8, the higher up they are, the ‘easier’ their Last 16 oppo, so we can’t rely on anything there.
At the start of the campaign, just missing out on qualifying, with a few wins and draws, would probably be success but not now, it would be a failure.
Agreed Cha, but just so bloody frustrating! We showed what we CAN do vs Leipzig then 2 lousy performances leaves us scraping around when we should be through already and aiming for 17 pts. Both those games were more than winnable and we just didn’t ‘turn up’. Just WTF incentive so some of these players need? We need to learn to be better, CONSISTENTLY!
Here, Cha, Ah’m awfy sorry tae disturb you in yer perfect trance-like meditation zone but since you seem tae know everything roon here is there any chance ye could gie us a recipe fur at least hauf decent chicken pakora?
Urra hauf decent veggie samosa at least?
Apart fae Cookies, and you, The Cha, there widnae be a decent recipe left for such items here on this God forsaken Earth!
Now, i’nt that right, Cha?
(Whilst eating chicken pakora singing ‘Let’s do the Cha Cha Cha’ !)
Better song choice even if it is Bono’s caterwauling. Ralston and Taylor loaned out to Forfar athletic. 2 new full backs. Kuhn decision not to past to kyogo in the second half instead of running it in himself. Moments that win games. Ref was shocking incoming fouls from both teams ( Engels and hatate) Frustrating game to watch but now in a great position. Wonder whether it’s the bottle going sometimes as we get closer to qualification.
Ignoring* passed*
Taylor?
Well he redeemed himself a bit with our first goal but Valle was a hell of a lot better when he came on. A below par performance but delighted with the win and the effort shown by the players towards the end. We’ll definitely come good again before long.
He had too many mistakes in him. Doesn’t own his mistakes. Scales is dodgy as well and Ralston. Wild crosses out the park. The little Spaniard and Johnston are ok. Bring bernabei back from his loan deal. He’s apparently playing well. Or buy two good fullbacks and hope we get through the EC play offs so they can play
Not going to happen though, kind of have this sentimental attachment to diddies because they’ve got “character” and battlers. Doesn’t cut it in the big leagues.
Not too many members of our team performed well in those high winds but I’d like to highlight CCV’s brilliant defending when he came up against 4 attackers after Taylor’s second suicidal clanger. Trusty was shaky in the first half and Scales started well but was later sloppy on a number of occasions. The huns’ first goal was a gift from Taylor while poor defending was evident in their other two.
Re Bernabei, the boy has ability but is far more adapted to South American football and I get the impression he is a lot happier playing out there so we should cash in on him and make a serious offer for Alex Valle, who I think is a great prospect. We’ve hit a bit of a trough formwise at the moment but expect an upturn soon as well as a couple of important signings to bolster the first team as we go through the gruelling winter period.
Agree with most of it. The wind played a part in the wayward crosses, though ralston was doing it in non windy Zagreb. Blootering crosses into places beyond the game itself. Valle is a non negotiable isn’t he. Too many shortarses in the team. Especially when we play against hulking euro Uber giants with delicate first touches and speed to burn.

By ze vey, Jimbob, your outrageously hilarious attempts at ‘being a writer’ on the other page have me in stitches 😀
’When you start life as a ‘Tribute Act’ then your onward’s path is determined by the adroitness you are able to employ to defend,
and / or lie, in explaining away all the compromises you are forced to make to reconcile all the string pulling by the Master Puppeteers, such as ‘Magic Mike’, who have your ‘Commercial Revenue ‘ streams held firmly by the ‘short and curlies.’
😀 😀 😀
Now you try explaining all that, JimBob, while we sit here pishing our pants laughing at ye.
I’m serious, Jimbo, what exactly are you trying to say here?
I know you obviously like to take the long winded way round but this one has me baffled.
Whatever happened to the ETims crowds’ famous sense of humour?
A gang of miserable old gits these days.
Soft lad, lighten up, our Bhoys have won the Cup!
Very reminiscent of Aberdeen Scottish Cup Semi-Final from last season, go behind then twice in front but couldn’t keep lead and won on penalties.
Bad conditions, pitch looked poor (not as bad as Zagreb but not good). Also worth mentioning their usual roughhouse tactics, they had 8 booked but if they had 17 outfield yellows, you know that Beaton was never given a Red.
Surprised that Bernardo was hooked, as was never a game for Engels to come on and impose himself on.
McGregor also had quite a few shaky moments and gave the ball away a few times, so we need the midfield to up its game.
The next big game is Young Boys in a month or so and our approach until then should be to ensure we’re peaking for that, resting/rotating the likes of Kuhn and getting the midfield firing again, to that end.
Sure, there’s Ibrox on the 2nd but that’s not going to affect the league and, if they come away with bragging rights, then that’s the only thing they’re going to win.
Yep, we could have done with the dig and craft of Luke McCowan yesterday. I hope we can impose ourselves on the game much better at Ibrox. The young guys of Berne lost in the Swiss league yesterday btw.
We do seem to have a problem putting them away. Last season’s home games, last at Ibrox and Scottish Cup Final should’ve seen decisive wins but we made them far more nervy than they should’ve been.
Back in Ange’s time there were narrow League Cup Final and Scottish Cup Semi-Final wins.
Of course, if we continue to win them, then we can all suffer for 90, 120 or more minutes. 😉
Its good to see YB still struggling but I still think we’ll need to be on top form to beat them. Ranking points and prizes in the Champs League are probably still a big incentive for clubs like them and us. Whether their players feel the same way, may be a different matter.

.
We haven’t been that impressive in our last two Euro outings, games which a lot of fans I know expected 4 or even 6 points from, so it’s important not to take YBoys for granted or we could quickly slip into the elimination zone.
True, there must be absolutely no complacency when we come up against the Berne young team as this is a must win. If things do go well early on, however, we mustn’t take our foot off the gas and be totally ruthless in fromt of goal. We want to boost that goal difference as well.
Hey JimBob!
I see you were asking for a link to the Kris Boyd melt down on the other page so here’s a wee tip …
There’s this thing called The Internet, in fact, you’re using it now.
Go to a site called YouTube and type in the words Kris Boyd Melt down, et voilá!
You have Kris Boyd’s melt down.
You can thank me later.

I’m enjoying the latest Hun meltdown, when they weren’t awarded a penalty for an alleged offence, after the whistle had been blown for an earlier foul.
Reminiscent of last season, wanting a penalty when their player was offside.
It’s good to see that the new totally professional CEO has bowed to the “crazies” and has raised it with the SFA.
If he’s as good as they say he is then he’d hate it and want to concentrate on the big issues and not this nonsense.
However, this all plays into our hands, which is nice. 🙂
