Celtic Diary Saturday April 2: Bad Moon Rising ?

We do seem to be looking forward a little more than usual to the Glasgow derby , the latest of which takes place tomorrow lunchtime, at Ibrox stadium.

Perhaps that’s because we’ve just had a week of international football, a poor substitute at the best of times, or perhaps it’s because the break has been injury free and given a couple of players a chance to get ready for this game.

Kyogo Fuhruhashi has been added to the squad, and although it’s unlikely he’ll start, he may well be given a chance to finish things.

Even just having him around helps morale, as Ange Postecoglou pointed out;

“He’s already had a massive impact on our season and once he’s up and ready and out there again I’m sure he’ll be looking to make a similar impact.

“He’s buzzing as well because he gets an opportunity to be involved and do the things he loves, so it’s great.”

Such is the strength of the current squad that our top scorer is unlikely to to shift our in form number nine, Giorgios Giakoumakis, or his partners Jota and  Daezen Maeda,  as they have built up an understanding recently, learning to play well together.

Forrest, Kyogo and Abada may well come on as a unit to replace the entire front line to work on an already tiring Ibrox defence….

Maybe that’s why we’re looking forward to it more than usual.

Did someone say 7-0 ?

black and white dancing GIF

 Well, 7-1.

 I forgot about their penalty.

They’re not so enthusiastic over the river though. Alfredo Morelos isn’t available, the extra weight he’s been carrying has knackered his knees and he needs crutches to get about. that leaves them short up front and reduces their options for that penalty.

Ryan Kent has been practicing at the swimming baths, and to be fair he’s pretty adept at leaving his leg to drag over an outstretched opponent.

While all the Celts seem to be in great condition mentally and physically, there are doubts over both conditions within the walls of Mordor.

On the pitch, Ryan Jack is probably their most influential player, and he called out Georgios Giakoumakis for his “disrespectful ” comments, complaining that the Celt was being disrespectful.

It’s probably a good job Jack won’t hear the team talk…

Reo Hatate also rates Celtic higher than “rangers “, which is all Giakoumakis did, but it’s clearly rattled them, and it may be that the statements are pinned to the dressing room wall to inspire the “rangers ” players.

 Here’s Giakoumakis’s

ω οι Ρέιντζερς είναι σκατά

And this is what Hatate said

ああレンジャーはシテです

If they put that on the wall in crayon they’ll think Jimmy Bell’s been trying to draw pictures.

If they’re still unsure what it means, the Celtic support in the ground will probably inform them during the game…..

Maybe we’re being a little over confident here, and the narrative that these games never adhere to the form book, but in fact , they usually do end up with the in form team taking the spoils, and what you will notice is that because pundits won;t be able to find a genuine reason to support their hope that “rangers ” take all three points, they’ll fall back on the ” Old Firm ” uniqueness myth, and since it’s not the Old Firm and is simply the world’s newest major derby. that to me seems a little optimistic.

Celtic are likely to start this game pretty much the same way they started the previous clash between the two…at full pace, and that is likely to get the same early outcome.

“rangers ” don’t handle their own support very well..apart from when it comes to fleecing a few quid out of them or just telling them what they want to hear, and are clearly worried about the crowd’s behaviour.

A recent game against Dundee was stopped while the fans threw toilet rolls in protest to the club/company taking part in the Sydney Cup as a support act to Celtic, which is the accepted narrative, although the real reason is the heightened use of child abuse vitriol being hurled towards Celtic and their fans on social media, which has replaced even their anti catholic or Irish bile for the moment.

To calm their fans and encourage their venom towards Celtic, “rangers ” have pulled out of the Australian tournament, producing a fairly vague statement outlining none of their reasons…

Not that it really matters, should Celtic race into a three goal lead early in the game, all hell will break loose, but once again, they’ve been  told them what they wanted to hear…

Rangers can confirm the Club will not be participating in the Sydney Super Cup in November 2022.

After it became clear the tournament organisers were unwilling to fulfil their commitments to Rangers, we have, with immediate effect, terminated the Club’s agreement with the organisers.

Speculation surrounds the reasons, one of which was that the organisers refused to use the Old Firm tag, but it can’t be that

‏‏‎ ‎

Image

Given that they will face a significant financial penalty for pulling out, especially if they have been paid a percentage up front, then it seems unlikely they’ll actually pull out.

What’s more likely is that after the three games against Celtic, they’ll say they couldn’t get out of the agreement and are playing “reluctantly ” or “under protest “

In a wider context, they’ve just closed an important and lucrative income stream, as they’ve shown themselves to a worldwide market that they cannot be trusted to honour an agreement, something Hummel, Sports Direct and others could certainly confirm.

Our media won’t cover that sort of story, and instead will help promote the only pre season option now open to them, an Ibrox Cup featuring Linfield, Hamburg and Police Scotland XI, which will keep the bears happy and the blue pound rolling.

As the rest of the world sighs in relief…

As the Greek city Times explains today, over in Sydney

Sydney saved from Rangers fans as support act backs out of

Ange Postecoglou’s Homecoming Tour

The Sydney Super Cup, or more commonly known in Australia as Ange Postecoglou’s Homecoming Tour, has been saved from having to deal with the consequences of dealing with Rangers fans.

Rangers withdrew from the four-team tournament after supporters of the Ibrox side protested and expressed their unwillingness to participate in a friendly tournament as the support act for Ange’s Celtic FC – despite the generous monetary compensation.

And for this, Rangers fans have inadvertently saved the harbour city and the Sydney Super Cup from themselves.

One cannot read a Scottish football forum or social media without a plethora of Rangers fans disgustingly exploiting victims of child abuse to disparage their Glasgow rivals.

At least 22 former Celtic Boys Club players, with likely more to join, have launched a class action lawsuit against Celtic FC for historical abuse against them. Four men associated with Celtic Boys Club or Celtic have been convicted of abuse.

The Celtic sexual abuse scandal is part of a wider football sexual abuse scandal that has embroiled many Scottish clubs, such as Rangers, Hibernian and Partick Thistle, and even English clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City and Aston Villa.

For their part, Rangers made a public and sincere apology to anyone personally affected by child abuse after the Scottish FA’s independent review was released.

The abuse of children is something that should not be given a moment of tolerance and all those guilty should face the maximum punishment allowed in the country.

In the same manner, the weaponisation of child abuse victims to disparage or “banter” should not be tolerated, yet as already said, one cannot browse any online medium relating to Scottish football without seeing Rangers fans exploiting child abuse victims.

An administrator of the Follow Follow website, which is an official media partner of Rangers FC, announced on their forum that the “Rolf Harris Cup organisers hit back”, clearly replacing “Sydney Super” with the name of the convicted Australian paedophile.

” alt=”” aria-hidden=”true” />Sydney saved from Rangers fans as support act backs out of Ange Postecoglou's Homecoming Tour 1

If this is how the administrator of an official Rangers media partner behaves (the club has locked out Scottish mainstream media unless they pay a ridiculous £25,000 for “access”), then Sydney can count itself lucky that such a vile supporter base have forced the club to not be a support act for Ange’s Homecoming Tour.

What is worse is that this media partner has thousands of comments pontificating on their forum about the Celtic child abuse scandal in favour of the victims, without once considering whether the victims want to be used as a football sledge – even to the point that forum members suggested making banners for the victims.

Move to Facebook or Twitter and it is equally horrific, a never ending barrage of child abuse victims being used as a form of sledging against Celtic and their fans, despite even their own club apologising for their role in the UK football child sex scandal.

Of course some Rangers fan will pass off their exploitation of child abuse victims as care and concern for said victims, but one can’t help notice their near silence about domestic abuse victims or for victims of other forms of abuse.

If it is so normalised for Rangers fans to sledge their rivals by exploiting the victims of child abuse, we should be thankful that they are not a part of Ange’s Homecoming Tour, a day that will certainly be joyful and does not need to be tarnished with banners with the only purpose being to antagonise Celtic fans through the exploitation of child abuse victims.

This does not even take into account the inevitable sectarian songs that would be heard ringing around Accor Stadium in western Sydney, or perhaps even targeted racist chants like Celtic star striker Kyogo Furuhashi has already experienced, and almost certainly violence.

Either way, we thankfully will not find out after Rangers fans, outraged about being a supporting act, successfully convinced their club to pull out of Ange’s Homecoming Tour.

In this way, as Celtic branches out globally to their fans and promotes the club to new markets in Australia and Asia, Rangers appears to be content in only being a club for the reactionary of Britain and Northern Ireland.

And yet our board, in it’s infinite wisdom, still clings to the Old Firm brand, and not just to prevent anyone from making money of the back of it’s history.

They really do seem to think that being associated with the toxicity of ibrox, and their complete lack of trustworthiness, is somehow worth hanging onto.

Ange and the players are doing their bit to crush them on the park.

Surely by now it’s obvious to the board that they are going to drag us down with them if we don’t cut that cord ?

So giving an opinion is disrespectful? Well only to a club that has a superiority complex I would guess! And to pass up an opportunity to cash in and earn well is refused simply because the vast minority of flag will be tri-colour, regardless of showing their faces or not, but letting down Asian supporters? Doubt there are too many! 7-1 Ibrox in the Sun? With or without Moreless, I feel a 3-1 Hun Skelping, but hope the higher is right. Feeling good today with a beautiful day forecast for tomorrow! HH!

I think they tried that ‘pin it on the wall’ motivation after GG spoke but I’m pretty sure then they dropped points.

Talk is cheap, including their own, its what you do on the pitch and we’ve been doing that far better.

We should be confident about tomorrow but not complacent.

The form team usually does win if they play to their current form and the lesser team does likewise.

I expect it to be a close game and hopefully all talk of big wins and Hunskelpings is purely from the fans and not in the minds of the players.

Things could conspire against us but we cannot panic and lose the head as we’ll still be top of the league and want all our players available for the other games.

Realistically they probably need to beat us twice to win the league so we’re in a very good but not unsurmountable position.

Great article by the Greek journalist…talk about hitting the nail on the head.!! Meanwhile the loyal *rangers leaning kid-on journalists at the Daily Pravda cement their claim to being the official propaganda wing of the AyeBroke’s board with no less than 3, yes 3 different articles insisting that the Old Firm exists as *rangers are Rangers and have won 55 titles. You COULD make it up,…and they have done just that. The days of an uneducated readership swallowing everything in print are gone. They’re fooling nobody, but they are showing themselves up for the cringing sycophants that they really are. They’re a disgrace to all the real journalists who have sometimes put their lives on the line to print the truth. I WOULD p*ss on them if they were on fire.
4-1 Celtic tomorrow.

You’ve just got to laugh at how insecure the huns are. Nice of their fascist ultras to celebrate their fixation with Celtic by having a wee firework display last night for the Bhoys, then this morning electronically advertising that ‘This is the Old Firm’, when really, deep down, they know it isn’t . Add in the fact that they couldn’t handle our support in their own midden just goes to show how fvcked up they really are.
C’mon the Tic, smash these horrible fvckers all over the park.

Telt yeez 2-1 (yesterday the 4-1 was a typo). But it was a moral 4-1…we made so many clear chances. Thank fek Madden wasn’t the ref…did you count how many times their players and fans cried “penalty”? Their desperation was palpable. And what kind of rotten cheating neanderthal throws broken glass onto a football pitch? The “dignity club” my ass.
