Motive ? Yes. Evidence ? So They Say…

Timposter looks behind the bluff and counter bluff to examine a possible motive at Ibrox

So what are Sevco up to?

First and foremost they are desperate to prevent 10 in a row, and 9 in a row is stepping stone to this. They threw everything they had into this season to try and prevent this.

They know the game is up, whether we finish the fixtures or the season is ended on a points per game basis.

Therefore they are desperate to have the season declared null & void to achieve stopping 10 in a row.

However COVID-19 has provided them with an opportunity of a backup plan.

Null & void.

However they know null & void is not a likely outcome. As we all know, it has been written about extensively, Sevco are in serious financial trouble. I believe we would already have witnessed an insolvency event if they hadn’t deferred their players wages for 3 months.(Remember players wages deferral is a debt which will have to be paid regardless of any insolvency outcome if they want to restart in football).

They are currently engaged in a false dispute with the SPFL based on fake evidence. It’s that fake that it doesn’t exist.

They are demanding that senior SPFL officials be suspended without any evidence of malpractice being produced by them whatsoever.

In other words they are playing the part of a jury demanding the judge incarcerate them without ever hearing the evidence.

They are backed in these claims by a compliant SMSM who are acting as the PR Dept of Sevco.

This is especially the case of BBC Sport Scotland, who have agreed to do so in return for access to SEVCO especially to Slippy G.

Why have they decided on this ludicrous policy?

It is my contention that they are on the scorched earth policy because they want to have other clubs suffer insolvency events.

If they can achieve this then the SPFL can be persuaded to suspend all penalties involved with clubs coming through an insolvency event, namely points deduction.

An insolvency event for Sevco will be bad enough but the points deduction would be disastrous. Can you imagine trying to sell Season Books to the Sevcovians where they would be already in a financial deficit to Celtic and then knowing they would be in points deficit before a ball was kicked?

If they can achieve undermining the SPFL they can also have their friends at the SFA move in and takeover the running of the leagues in the aftermath of their scorched earth policy.

Only one problem.

The SPFL and the clubs are not playing ball. Their scorched earth policy is doomed to failure. They will use this refusal by the SPFL to wage a war of attrition by claiming to their hoards that they have been cheated, hoping that the hoarded back them through insolvency.

Bottom line is reality wins in the end.

If they do survive an insolvency they will do so as a much reduced entity without the resources to compete with Celtic.

For me a happy ending would be if they didn’t survive an insolvency. However in these extraordinary times I’ll take what I can.

Jelly and Ice Cream all round.

Again.

Why does null and void stop 9 in a row. If this season is written off it must be treated as if it didn’t happen.
When we win the next premier league to be played, it might not be 20/21, surely that would be either 9 or 10 in a row. We would have won 9 or 10 titles that were played to a conclusion consecutively.

Im guessing that most would view it as stopping at 8. Null and void would prevent continuous league titles shown in the record books. Though you would see Celtic claim another title that continuity would have gone.

I disagree. Celtic will keep winning every title (trophy?) that is put in front of them. Continuity. They can’t stop 10 no matter what they do.

They are having another go at deceiving Scottish football.
They really do have no shame.
After the EBT scandal they now use Covid to whine and cheat their way through scottish football .
Are they going to use all the letters of the alphabet before they just fuck off and die.

The only thing that will be near Null and Void this season or any other season is Sevco’s ability to become a creditable football club with grace and professionalism.

The SPFL fox swam across the river with the Sevco scorpion on its back only to be stung to death on the other side. They can’t help themselves – it’s their nature.

I think if there is to be an insolvency event , they would want it for this season as its already over for them. I know the rules have changed slightly with Covid , and that will allow them a little more breathing space and more scope for falsified accounts.
But like you say , if they can see that a few smaller clubs might go under , sevco will use this to push for no points deductions wherever they can.
Only 8 days until everyone sees the’ dossier of unfairness’ , or should that read as the’ screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation’. Not got quite the same ring to it.

Even if a team manages to play out of Liebrox in the future,I wouldn’t want a 15 point start because you would just hear all the boo hoo,it wisnae fair,Celtic were given an unfair advantage etc. So,let’s get it on,fair(on our part) and on the square (on their part) and another title will end up in Paradise…..

On a more sombre note, I’m devastated tonight to learn of the passing of Stranglers keyboard player Dave Greenfield, one of the best if not the best keyboard players ever to Coronavirus !!
Was booked up to see them at the O2 Academy in Glasgow in November, it was already doubtful if it would go ahead due to crowd restrictions, this I would imagine will put the final “nail in the coffin”! ! RIP Dave, many great nights out you have given me.

Good band the Stranglers – although I prefered their early stuff they came out with some great songs over the years and always maintained a unique style. RIP Dave

Doncaster follows the orders of SPFL clubs.
He did so in 2012 to produce the 5 Way Agreemnt which Celtic saw and accepted.
It’s easier to blame Doncaster than accept he is following orders.
His job is to deliver desired outcomes under whatever rules he can find or circumvent, outcomes the clubs, including Celtic, want.

The 5 Way is why Celtic fought Res12 but pretended they weren’t and failed to act on evidence that LNS Commission was unsound.

A failure that allowed titles illegitimately won to be treated as legitimate and so not struck off.

Eric Riley was the Celtic man on the SPL Board responsible for that outcome.

Ignore the letters etc demanding investigations or pretend Judicial reviews that excluded Res12, look at what Celtic didnt do when presented with the evidence in 2014 on LNS and 2018 on Res12.

Their part in 5 Way required The Board to lie to shareholders/supporters since 2012. To be fair they never expected evidence would emerge in 2013 that would require them to lie. But it did, and they have.

They can defend themselves of charges of mendacity at next AGM.

Great article Timposter and there is much that I agree with, the “scorched earth policy” for one, to take down as many clubs as possible along with them. Because that is their “modus Operandi” they have used that policy since they began, they are the destroyers of Scottish football with a malign influence. But….
1. All the clubs need them, including Celtic, that is why the Celtic board and the SFA. did everything in their power to keep them alive in 2011-12. Resolution 12. with talk of “Armageddon”- Rule bending, bent judicial protocols and the complete loss of sporting integrity. What a mess.
2. The difference now is, they do not have the same power base, a compliant media, yes, but few friends in the SPFL. and no placemen at the SFA.
3. So, I believe that it will be Peter Lawwell who will make the decisions. Can Scottish football survive without the “Old Firm” there is no “Rangers” but their ghosts remain, no ghosts, no meaningful Scottish football, everything depends on keeping them alive, SKY- BBC- MSSM. Sponsorship, ruling bodies, a strong Celtic.
4. Will they produce the 5 Way and all it contains, is there some unknow evidence of wrongdoing? we will soon find out. Will they adjust to the new reality?
5. All the above is sickening, the only way out is by Celtic joining another bigger league, if only that could happen, until then “its carry on regardless”.

No football so no football coupons. So how about a wee sweepstake.
What percentage of the Isle Of Wight population will take up Matt Hancocks Phone APP ?
I don’t expect the Tories to tell us the truth about the numbers anyway , same as they are doing with the testing totals.
Population around 141000

38% for me , or 53500.
