1254125 Paradise to Cardenden Cycle

Celtic Park Glasgow - Cardenden, Saturday, Sunday 15 2013

We are looking for 125 fundraisers to take the pledge and sign up to raise £125 for Celtic Charity’s 1254125 cycle.

The sixty three mile route from Paradise to Cardenden, Fife will  mainly be along a canal path. The cycle will co-inside with a weekend of celebrations of the life of John Thomson the former Celtic goalkeeper.

The event will form a key part in the John Thomson Memorial Committee’s plans to mark the 30th anniversary of the primary school football tournament named in John’s memory. Once every cyclist has reached Cardenden a wreath will be laid at John Thomson’s graveside.

Celtic Charity

Celtic Charity has always been an integral part of Celtic Football Club, uniting the Celtic Family around the world in collectively-held values and beliefs.

Our primary focus has always been that of improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable people all over the world, and in our 125th anniversary year we want to do much more. In Britain alone we have more than 13.5 million people living in poverty. That's more than one in five without enough to live on, discriminated against, and excluded from society. On our own doorstep, Glasgow's East End has the highest rate in the UK for children living in workless households, positioning Celtic Park right at the heart of communities who need our help the most.
