The characteristics and causes of homelessness around the\u00a0world are complex and varied. Everyone\u00a0<\/span>deserves a home &#8211; it\u2019s a fundamental human right.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y8 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">Along with people like Colin Farrell, Irvine Welsh, Emmanuel Petit our very own team captain\u00a0<span class=\"pg-1fc0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">\u00a0is <\/span><span class=\"pg-1fc0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">\u00a0an ardent supporter for the organisation and has been since\u00a0<\/span>2014 and says,<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y8 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y8 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\"><em> \u201cThe HWC gives some of society\u2019s most marginalised people a chance to\u00a0represent themselves, their team, and their country, and a chance to inspire others.\u201d<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1yc pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y10 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y11 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">The HWC returns to Scotland for the first time since 2005 when it was staged in Edinburgh.\u00a0This year the competition will be held in George Square, Glasgow that will be converted into\u00a0an outdoor street football venue for the event, with three purpose built pitches with seating.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y14 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">\u00a0 Up to 100,000 of spectators are expected to attend the tournament, which will start on\u00a0Sunday 10 July and run until Saturday 16 July. Entry is free every day to matches, and\u00a0tickets are not required for these. Viewers will\u00a0also be able to watch the best bits of tournament in two highlight programmes.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y19 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">\u00a0 Through each country\u2019s official National Partner, those who are homeless &#8211; for which there\u00a0are dozens of different definitions across the world &#8211; have the opportunity to enter\u00a0transformative programmes from which they can build a brighter life. The HWC Glasgow<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y1c pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">2016 is the culmination of a year of progress for each country and player involved. Teams\u00a0are invited to Glasgow following an application process, alongside an assessed scoring\u00a0system that includes analysis of each National Partner programme\u2019s activity over the last 12<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y1f pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">months.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y1f pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x0 pg-1h3 pg-1y20 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"color: #666666;\">In total, 64 teams<span class=\"pg-1fc1\" style=\"color: #0563c1;\"><span class=\"pg-1fc2 pg-1sc0\" style=\"color: transparent;\">6<\/span><\/span>\u00a0(both mens and women), representing 52 countries, will come together to\u00a0celebrate and highlight the year round life changing work of the HWC National Partner\u00a0network. The footballs are high quality, hand or machine stitched and not only\u00a0as well as being high performing piece of sports equipment for the players &#8211; they also helpthe men and women in Pakistan who make them achieve a better life for themselves and\u00a0their families through a fair price and safe working conditions.
