Apologies for the non-appearance of the diary yesterday, by the time I returned to some sort of capability it would have been time to do todays.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the Preston Emerald for taking us up to the game, and what a great day it was.<\/p>\n

I miss the big buses to the game, full of song , laughter and, er, the occasional refreshment, and its good to see a club doing okay with the right mix of youngsters , oldies and loonies. Well, to be fair, the loonies were on loan from Stoke.<\/p>\n

Anyone in the Preston area should get in touch with them. You won’t regret it.<\/p>\n

And then there was the football, a return to the days of playing the Celtic way, the predicted 7-0, and all done with the youngsters.<\/p>\n

A glimpse of what might have been, or what might still be ?<\/p>\n

Time will tell, but whoever the new manager is, he’s got quite a squad to work with.<\/p>\n

Keiran tierney says he “one hundred per cent ” wants to sign the new improved five year deal thats on the table, but the SMSM can’t have that…<\/p>\n

Thats from the Daily Star, makin its first appearance in the diary lest people think I’m just picking on the same papers, and the same reporters all the time. The story has appeared everywhere else, lending credence to the theory that the Scottish hacks simply share the nonsense so that no-one misses out when they finally do get something right.<\/p>\n

The reports suggest that Arsenal have watched Tierney, have decided he’s worth it, and are about to put in a bid.<\/p>\n

Other reports suggest he’s happy where he is, and if he says he’s happy , then thats good enough for me.<\/p>\n

On the manager front, a little bit of tittle tattle from the stands hint that Peter houstion, who has done very well with Falkirk, could be next seasons John Collins, brought in in case Roy Keane throws a fit and storms out, therefore giving us a ready made replacement.<\/p>\n

The flaw with that, of course, is that Keane would want to pick his own man, and has already claimed that was the very reason he turned the job down two years ago.<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Craig Gordon has spoken about the possibility of Keane arriving in to the hot seat, which is in itself interesting, as no one else has spoken about anyone else. Gordon reminisced about the first day of training with sunderland, when he left Hearts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did have a good day in my first training session.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you go to a new club you want to put on a good show, particularly on your first day, so I was right up for training.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d been injured with a broken ankle for a few months before he left and hadn\u2019t been playing.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cHe was trying to bring me back and I played in his last game before he left but injured the ankle in the same game, so it wasn\u2019t a great day for either of us.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure if he was offered the challenge of leading the club, he\u2019d accept it. He\u2019s hard-but-fair and did a great job to keep Sunderland in the Premier League in that first season after winning promotion.<\/em><\/p>\n

So, the season is done, Ronny and Johnny are away, and the players can all head off for a wee break before coming back in a few weeks to start all over again. The Diary got the 7-0 right, and we also mentioned that the club is going to Slovenia for pre season training, which i don;t think has been announced yet, but it will be soon.<\/p>\n

Something else we are right about is the impending statement on Resolution 12, which is due any day now as only the final wording has to be adjusted.<\/p>\n

Should be an interesting summer.<\/p>\n

The media blackout on the Tax Justice Network report has been explained to some degree at least, by Channel 4’s Alex Thomson, who said the as much of the report is based on Charlotte Fakes evidence, then it’s “legally toxic “, although it does beg the question as to why TJN isn’t in any bother.<\/p>\n

Only Graham Spiers has mentioned it in his Times column, and he deserves praise for that. State funded broadcaster BBC Scotland won’t go near it, and this is repeated throughout the written and spoken media.<\/p>\n

One wonders, however, if it had been another club at the centre of the allegations, if this would still have been the case.<\/p>\n

If the media won’t touch it, and the SFA won’t comment, then it has to be taken to Holyrood. Ask your MSP to ask questions in the house.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then theres the sponsors. Are Ladbrokes and William Hill happy to be associated with the whiff of corruption. ? Ask them .<\/p>\n

The TV companies, Sky, BT Sport and all the others ? Are they happy to plough money into a rigged game ? Ask them.<\/p>\n

Surely someone at Sky , with their own news channel, must want answers. Or at the veryuleat, they must want to ask questions. Again, ask them.<\/p>\n

Regan, Doncaster and all the others tainted by this must be forced to comment. Their silence adds fuel to the rumours, and it isn’t doing the image of the game any good.<\/p>\n

If they are still in place at the start of next season, then the games a bogey, and quite a few will give up on it.<\/p>\n

Theres talk that the mighty “rangers ” will be ready to make their mark on the Premiership this year, and the papers are happily repeating whatever good news story they can find, no matter its credibility, to help shift season books.<\/p>\n

Joey Barton, curently out of contract with Burnley-for a few days anyway-has been widely tipped to lead the side to glory..<\/p>\n

Lets just say theres more chance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming to Celtic.<\/p>\n

Barton has a two year dela ready to sign at Burnley, and Kranjcar won’t leave his gig in the USA.<\/p>\n
