{"id":9064,"date":"2016-05-02T10:12:31","date_gmt":"2016-05-02T09:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/etims.net\/?p=9064"},"modified":"2016-05-02T10:12:31","modified_gmt":"2016-05-02T09:12:31","slug":"celtic-diary-monday-may-2-so-thats-that-then","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etims.net\/?p=9064","title":{"rendered":"Celtic Diary Monday May 2: So, Thats That Then&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, very nearly .<\/p>\n<p>Barring a collapse of such a magnitude that would compare with Enron and Woolworths, Celtic are champions for the fifth successive season after a convincing 3-1 win at Tynecastle over a more than decent Hearts side.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the best efforts of Alan Muir, sent in by a desperate SPFL to try to help stem the gren and white tide, goals from Colin Kazim Richards, Patrick Roberts and the reliable Leigh Griffiths meant a nine point lead going into the last three games.<\/p>\n<p>The goal difference suggests that even the recall of Efe Ambrose to action won&#8217;t be enough for Aberdeen to come back and claim the title, so its time now to get the support back on side after what has been a less than inspiring , although still championship winning , season.<\/p>\n<p>We celbrated in Stoke with such vigour that I managed a full eighteen hour nap after getting home on Saturday evening, and so can look ahead now to seeing how the club deals with one or two issues that they may have neglected during the run in.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Brown started the ball rolling when he let fly at Andy Walker, one of the television pundits who has been less than kind to the club this term&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201c<em>We haven\u2019t got over the finishing line yet but, at the end of the day, people are going to criticise.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cAndy Walker is one that goes out there and manages to do it but he has never had a manager\u2019s job or know what it\u2019s like to be coming in here day in, day out.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe\u2019s pretty much a poor man\u2019s Gary Neville.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s every day, he does my f***ing box in.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m sure he would say when he was playing so many years ago that there were so many coming out and slaughtering people but you think people are bigger than that and better than that and maybe stick up for the club and manager a bit more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAt the end of the day, who cares. It\u2019s only him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s the manager that has got it more than anyone else and it\u2019s easy for him [Walker] sitting up there saying things, anybody could do that.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBut he [Walker] walks out the tunnel and doesn\u2019t even look in anyone\u2019s eyes and puts his head down.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSo he obviously knows he has done something wrong.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBut, yet again, the fans were exceptional [at Tynecastle] and they don\u2019t believe what he says.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe knows he has been in this situation before and he didn\u2019t win that much when he was here.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSometimes you\u2019ve got to take it on the chin but, maybe, he is just jealous.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n&#8220;Just Jealous &#8220;, a thinly disguised euphanism for &#8220;just a knob &#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Brown will now sit out the remaining games as he has ( surprise surprise ) been carrying an injury, a touch of tendonitis in his hamstrings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cI think that\u2019s me done and dusted now.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cI need to close down for a few weeks and just concentrate on my fitness and try to get back because I\u2019ve been struggling to get around the park.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cI\u2019ve been sitting in front of the back four the past few weeks and I\u2019ve been struggling to do that.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cYou could see in the last few minutes [against Hearts] I wasn\u2019t moving very well.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cIt\u2019s football and people play through injuries, there are a lot of players who have done that this season.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nNo shit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Not the best way to run a railroad, and players carrying injuries risking further damage is not clever, and may even explain why we&#8217;ve used around a dozen defenders this term.<\/p>\n<p>And a dozen midfielders. If you want a refund get a hold of John Paul Taylor&#8217; (Celtic&#8217;s supporter liaison officer).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>The supporter who posted the video claims they were told the stand capacity had reached its limits and it was for their own safety, but goes on to claim the seats they had tickets for lay empty.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/etims.net\/?attachment_id=9065\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9065\">video tynecatle cops<\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said the force refuted claims that Celtic fans were refused entry for turning up late.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>She added: &#8220;The stand was at its capacity and was closed by the club in the interests of the safety of the fans in the ground.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nI remember Rugby Park back in 2003 and a similar problem. and we know when too many fans get in, there can be catastrophic results.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>thats why we have the police, and stewards there to ensure safety, and to ensure that problems are kept to a minimum.<\/p>\n<p>Thats also why Lawwell should be demanding an explanantion and clarification of what actually went on, and why.<\/p>\n<p>Celtic supporters need to see him taking a hands on position in looking after their interests and the interests of the club.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Brown has led the way, its up to others to follow.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Leigh Griffiths and Keiran Tierney repeatd their player of the year triumphs at the club on a national scale, but the wonder with the magic hat , Mark Warburton, scooped the manager of the year award.<\/p>\n<p>No, I can&#8217;t figure that one out either.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it&#8217;ll give him something to remember Scottish football by as he ponders his escape route ahead of the more strenuous season ahead against the top sides in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The flow of bad news continued with Keiran Tierney now linked with Arsenal, Liverpoo, Man city and anyone else you care to think of.<\/p>\n<p>Again, the club needs a good strong PR to counter this, and not leave the club such an easy target any more.<\/p>\n<p>A new manager is coming in, and he will want to get on with the football side of things.<\/p>\n<p>The press can arguably lay claim to helping Deila feel like he&#8217;d rather be somewhere else, the club must not let it happen again.<\/p>\n<p>And the new manager ?
