{"id":9045,"date":"2016-04-28T07:48:47","date_gmt":"2016-04-28T06:48:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/etims.net\/?p=9045"},"modified":"2016-04-28T07:48:47","modified_gmt":"2016-04-28T06:48:47","slug":"celtic-diary-thursday-april-28-sfa-reply-on-resolution-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etims.net\/?p=9045","title":{"rendered":"Celtic Diary Thursday April 28: SFA Reply On Resolution 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Brogan Rogan Trevino, who opens the mail&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">At long last the SFA have actually replied to a letter from solicitors (sent last Wed),and it makes for very curious reading.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">It answers no direct questions concerning the main issue and seeks to avoid all questions.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">It states clearly that the SFA do not consider themselves answerable to the individual shareholders of Celtic PLC or the shareholders of any member club.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">It states that in 2011 the SFA fulfilled its licensing and UEFA monitoring functions fully and properly.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">It states that those monitoring and compliance functions came to an end at the close of that particular season in respect of that same season and that it is not obliged to make any report in connection with the events of that season after the close of the season. You follow?<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">However, it goes on to say that the SFA will co-operate in every way with any enquiry that should be opened by UEFA in the event of issues being raised by someone else.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">The letter arrived yesterday afternoon, was copied to Celtic PLC, and is only being considered today. \u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">If anyone thinks this brings matters to a conclusion they are ill informed.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">How does that old song go?<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #565656;\" \/><em><a style=\"color: #3a9ad9;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DDTvLldOgZs\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DDTvLldOgZs<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I read that as we haven&#8217;t done anything wrong and we don&#8217;t have to explain ourselves to you anyway. But if UEFA asks us, then we will.<\/p>\n<p>Auldheid, another of the band dubbed &#8220;The Requisitioners &#8221; , added;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\"><em>The fat lady hasn\u2019t even sprayed her throat never mind cleared it. For all SFA say they do not recognise shareholders, \u00a0in replying they just have. One \u00a0up to the fans. They are being made accountable but no reason now for Celtic not to takeover the mantle.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\"><em>In replying the SFA have brought their raison d\u2019etre into question and clearly they and UEFA need to investigate, if only to ensure no holes in their process that let a club with tax so overdue it required SOs to call and collect 6 weeks after being cleared of having none, play in \u00a0CL qualifier at end July.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Had RFC beaten Malmo and qualified I very much doubt if Malmo would have stayed silent after 10 August especially as their opponents had a player that RFC paid for with the overdue tax money.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>This is an extremely serious good governance matter and it cannot be allowed to be swept under the carpet.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\"><em>As the CQN post says the response is still being digested, but Res12 asked for the licensing process in 2011 to be investigated. Celtic\u2019s response based on partial answers to questions by the SFA to avoid the relevant date was that the resolution wasn\u2019t necessary.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\"><em>That position in our view is no longer tenable.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\"><em>I hope supporters of other clubs will start asking their clubs if they support Res12 for if they do we can finally get SFA clear out then closure.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\"><em>The coming weeks will be crucial for the integrity of Scottish football. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Celtic can now take up the battle, and indications are that they will. The volume of supporters who have registered their displeasure at their apparent inaction has bewildered the club, and they will react. I had a chat with someone yesterday, and was quite happy with how it went.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">\u00a0There will be more on that later, but for now, it appears the club, the support, the shareholders can stop arguing amongst themselves, and focus their attention on the arrogance in that letter from the SFA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Especially this bit&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\"><em style=\"color: #333333;\"><span>\u00a0those monitoring and compliance functions came to an end at the close of that particular season in respect of that same season and that it is not obliged to make any report in connection with the events of that season after the close of the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Legally obliged ? Maybe not, but thats irrelevant, because even if they were, they&#8217;d just change the rules to say they weren&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Morally obliged ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Well, thats a wee bit different.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Failure to report all the facts suggests that they may have something to hide. If everything was tickety boo, then why not come out and say so?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">To do that may restore a little faith in those who govern the game, who surely must be feeling a little bit of pressure as accusations are being made that they may not have been entirely honest in their applications of the rules.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">If they aren&#8217;t feeling any pressure, then that can only be because they genuinely don&#8217;t think they have a case to answer, and that in itself means that they really do see themselves as above the law, above accountability and beyond reproach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Not really how it should be, and not really how they would want to be seen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">After the shennanigans of 2011, and the subsequent bending of rules, one would think the SFA would want to be open, would want to be honest and would want all those accusations dealt with, not only to show they are capable of good governance, but to show they have the games best interests at heart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">A refusal to confirm that they acted correctly when submitting and confirming the application of Rangers ( 1872-2012) for entry into the Champions League suggests that they may have either deliberately or accidentally made an error.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">If they have nothing to hide, surely they should show that, and then we can all move on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">Their own personal integrity, and the integrity of the governing body is being called into question, and it is simply not enough for them to answer this by saying<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">&#8220;you can&#8217;t make me &#8220;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">The thing is, they have to realise that somewhere down the line, someone is going to make them, and it would look an awful lot better if they held this enquiry of their own free will, because the longer they procrastinate, then the more it looks like they are afraid of what may be discovered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">As a supporter with an interest in this issue, perhaps you could contact them and demand an enquiry into the events surrounding the granting of a licence to Rangers (1872-2012)<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #565656;\">You can ring them&#8230; email them or even write to them.
