Have to say, I’m glad to see the back of it.

Not just with Ronny resigning, or promising to resign, and the resultant and now regular upheaval. The bookies, for instance, making at least three people absolute certainties to replace him, but in the wider world of entertainment.

Victoria Wood, the inspiration to so many female comedians and writers passed away. She showed the world that being an unfunny woman with a northern accent was not a hindrance to success, and paved the way for other comic greats such as Miranda Hart and Sarah Millican.

The person I felt for most was the poor sod forced to try to find anything humorous she’d ever said or done to include in the various tribute spots on tv and radio.

The music world suffered another blow when the artist formerly known as alive, Prince, a sort of modern day David Bowie, collapsed and died. This has led to another outbreak of grief, and perhaps its small consolation to his many fans that if you draw a little moustache on Rhiannon then it will be like he never left..

And so to the football.

Ronny deila was live on sky sports yesterday, explaining why he left, and noting immediately that there were “more people here today “…

“I’ve been thinking of this for a little while, because I haven’t felt the team has been getting the results it should have, and most importantly the performances or the improvement,”

“At the start when I came into this job, I talked about improvement in the team, I talked about playing attractive football and in the last six months we haven’t had that improvement.

“When you don’t get improvement, it kills me inside. This club wanted to be [run] in a positive way and have a positive economy. I’m not a bitter man. I felt I was given a chance, and I felt lately that we haven’t had the development that we wanted in the team.

“The players have been unbelievably good attitude-wise. I don’t have any problems with the players, I can look anybody in the eyes. I’ve done that. Some players have had a lot of development under me and are much better, some haven’t developed. That can be their fault, that can be my fault.
