{"id":8799,"date":"2016-03-15T10:07:27","date_gmt":"2016-03-15T10:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/etims.net\/?p=8799"},"modified":"2016-03-15T10:07:27","modified_gmt":"2016-03-15T10:07:27","slug":"celtic-diary-tuesday-march-15-celtic-listens-to-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etims.net\/?p=8799","title":{"rendered":"Celtic Diary Tuesday March 15: Celtic Listens To Fans!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Celtic have decided to subsidise supporters who are planning to attend the match against Kilmarnock this weekend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Every adult ticket purchased this week from the Celtic Park Ticket Office for the game against Kilmarnock will be discounted, by Celtic, by \u00a36. Celtic Football Club will meet the cost of this, and every supporter who has already secured their seat to get behind the team this weekend will also be able to claim their discount based on their original method of payment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">That means that for this weekend\u2019s game, Celtic supporters can get behind their team in numbers once again for only \u00a320 per adult ticket instead of \u00a326.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Here in Stoke, the local EPL club pays for away supporters travel. There are other clubs around Europe who do this as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The EPL are about to cap away price tickets, and Celtic should be commended for this gesture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">For those who say that Kilmarnock will still get their money, and so on, so what ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Just don&#8217;t buy any pies or drinks. Take a packed lunch with you and eat it before you go in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The important thing is that the club have put their proverbial money where their mouth is and taken the hit themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Well done.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Scott Brown agrees, though he was hardly likely not to;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis is a great move by the Club and I am sure it will be welcomed by our supporters. We hope it will allow even more fans to come and back the team at Rugby Park. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOur supporters are everything to us and it is a privilege to be able to play in front of such a large and passionate support everywhere we go. We saw it on Saturday at Firhill and felt the difference a huge travelling support can make.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe respect and value the huge commitment our fans make in supporting the team and we are so grateful for everything they do for us. We were delighted to win such an important game on Saturday and now our total focus is on achieving another win at Kilmarnock &#8211; and we want to do this with as many fans as possible behind us.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Association of Supporters club welcomed the move&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Celtics\u00a0<a style=\"color: #006633;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.celticfc.net\/news\/10191\" target=\"_blank\">announcement today<\/a>\u00a0that will see all fans travelling to Kilmarnock charged \u00a320 for adult tickets with Celtic covering the remaining \u00a36 of the ticket cost price, is one that is fully welcomed by us.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>We had\u00a0<a style=\"color: #006633;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.affiliationregisteredcelticsupporters.org\/articles\/2016\/03\/statement-ticket-pricing-protest-at-kilmarnock\/?utm_source=twitterfeed&amp;utm_medium=twitter\" target=\"_blank\">planned a protest before the game<\/a>\u00a0to highlight the massive inconsistencies with ticket pricing and policy in Scotland but this has now been postponed to allow us to focus fully on supporting our team and also support this gesture by the club.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>We have made our views on ticket prices and difficulties faced by the away fan to the club over a long period and we are delighted that they have listened.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>The time to dissect the circumstances of this decision is not now and rest assured our voice won\u2019t be silenced in the future because of this.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>We still believe ticket prices are too high across the board and that the \u00a320 price should be the maximum an adult should pay to attend a football match in Scotland.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>We will take stock after\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_654427228\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0on what our next move will be. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>The club have made clear the value of the away support with this gesture. That fact cannot be argued. Just as the EPL made clear of the value of an away support last week with their announcement of the \u00a330 away ticket cap.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>We want the SPFL to take the lead from our near neighbours and call for them to introduce a \u00a320 away cap for next season.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Today\u2019s announcement could change ticket pricing in Scotland but we have to play our part. Let\u2019s buy tickets and take our largest away support to Kilmarnock for a number of seasons. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Show the club and Scottish football that Twenty\u2019s Plenty. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Its more about the getsure from the club, which does show they have listened, than the amount, but nevertheless, drink \u00a0it responsibly, and remember..<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thecommentator.com\/system\/articles\/inner_pictures\/000\/002\/072\/original\/big-brother-watching-obamacartoon.jpg?1353079595\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Well, not necessarily at this game, but certainly at a game in the future..plans are afoot for the police to keep an eye on supporters at the upcoming cup semi final.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">No doubt so they can watch it later and make sure they can arrest enough people to justify the huge bill that comes along with the game.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">to keep that particular fire burning, the SPFL have announced an enquiry into sectarian singing and overcrowding at the recent game at Hamilton;<\/p>\n<p><em>The match delegate\u2019s report is understood to have highlighted what is described as \u2018sustained\u2019 pro-IRA chanting during the 1-1 draw.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It is also believed that attention has been drawn to areas of potential overcrowding in the stand behind the goal, which housed much of the Celtic support. The delegate report is understood to point out that some fans with tickets elsewhere in that stand, abandoned their seats to congregate together elsewhere.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Host club Accies and Police Scotland will be asked for their comments on those issues, while Celtic will be probed for answers on fan behaviour.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Both clubs have received copies of the report and following the next Board meeting of the\u00a0<a style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; color: #141414;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/sport\/football\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-content-type=\"section\">SPFL<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, March 23, an official investigation will be launched.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Here we go again.<\/p>\n<p>Why do the support give them any excuse to lump us in with the crew from south of the river ?<\/p>\n<p>Stop it.<\/p>\n<p>In their eyes we are just the other side of the coin to that lot, and by feeding their agenda like this we are simply building a rod for our own backs.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want to be forever reffered to as one half of the old firm, then move away from what many portray as a mirror image. If you give them the bullets, they will fire them.<\/p>\n<p>Never mind the &#8220;what about them? &#8220;argument<\/p>\n<p>Its invalid. Lets make sure own own doorstep is spotlessly clean before we tell others to tidy up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Anyway, back to the league title race, and Inverness CT handyman Josh Magennis has a warning for Celtic&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Everything is better at Aberdeen now and he Derek has been able to bring a real arrogance into their team \u2013 but in a really positive way.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;They genuinely feel they are going to win every single game and if you want to win leagues and push for cups and stuff then that&#8217;s what you need.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I don&#8217;t know if they will the league as Celtic are a big club and they have the finances and a big squad to choose from.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;But Aberdeen are playing without any fear.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It will go down to the wire and not be decided until the last couple of games so there is no reason why they can&#8217;t do it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The question is will they do it? We will have to wait and see but you would have to be criminally deluded not to worry if you\u2019re Celtic.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Any game that they don&#8217;t win they are giving the chance away to Aberdeen and both teams have to keep winning and hopefully the best team will take the trophy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;For too long it was Rangers and Celtic going for the title but it&#8217;s a breath of fresh air that Aberdeen are taking them so close.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;A lot of people were sceptical when Rangers dropped out of the division that it would be a one team league.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s fantastic Aberdeen have pushed them so far.&#8221; \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Er, criminally deluded ?<\/p>\n<p>If it&#8217;s a crime to suffer from delusions there&#8217;s going to be an awful lot of people locked up over the next few weeks. mostly in the media, to be fair, as a number of them persist in using the phrase &#8220;Old Firm&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A phrase which, as Cartuja from KDS illustrates here, belongs in the past.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/CdHENMSW0AUIDp4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But all of that makes for a good headline, and in one sense he&#8217;s right, Celtic should worry about the challenge from the Dons. More importantly, it keeps the media talking about the league race, generating interest and making it all seem rather exciting.<\/p>\n<p>Mind you, i&#8217;m not worried.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve a player in their side who hasn&#8217;t even mastered the art of walking the right way up, so at least there&#8217;s one player we can be fairly confident it shouldn&#8217;t be too difficult to take the ball off.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/CdgD_viWwAEG4rO.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Actually, we should sign this guy.
