There are two words missing from the above, which is a well known phrase or saying. I’m guessing most of you can finish it.

Alright, a clue.

One of the words is “off”

Celtic forced a draw and gained another clean sheet in the march towards a fifth consecutive title last night when in form Dundee came to town.

Alright, not quite.

After a blistering start, which lasted nearly as long as my cigarette, celtic faded back into the usual fare that we have become accustomed to and very nearly made an arse of it again. I genuinely thought the old laptop was running slow, but it turns out that actually was the speed the game was being played at. you’d have thought with it being so cold some of the players would have ran around a bit, even just to keep warm.

But no, it was the same unproductive guff from the same old unproductive guffers.

After the game, I went out to pick the lad up from work, and the cd in the car -some sort of rock ballad compilation which I let run in order to avoid listening to commercial radio, (which is the same as having two of your most inane pals prattle to each other whilst trying to sell you a kitchen with an irritating electronic melody) and the tune which came on was Crowded house’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over”.

This particular ditty was quite popular many years ago, roughly around the time Tommy burns was trying to overturn the dominance of , oh i forget their name, they went under a few years ago, and I always associate it with looking at the league table and trying to convinv=ce myself we could still win the title, as we had only lost one game up to that point.

Hearing it again last night reminded me of some dark and desperate days, as I got married around then, and also that change sometimes is the right thing to do.

Sacking Deila is now the very least Celtic should do. Taking Collins and Kennedy out of the frame is also neccesary. Clearly something is wrong, and there have been several chances to put it right, but either he isn’t getting his message across, or he is and it’s being ignored.

There was a moment last night, on or around 77 minutes, when a Dundee player was down hurt. Or having a rest, or whatever.

A number of Celtic players were hanging around the touchline near to the dugout. Ronny deila turned to speak to John Kennedy. Scott Brown may or may not have been one of those players. If he wasn’t , he should have been.

At this point, it was 0-0 ( of course it was, muppet, it finished 0-0 -Ed) , and aberdeen were one up at Tannadice. The gap was down to four points, and the hot breath of the northerners must have been felt on the necks of at least some of our lot .

But no, everyone just stood around yapping.

When they should have been barking.

Whatever passion has been associated with Celtic on the field in days gone by was gone.

The manager didn’t seem to give a toss. The captain wasn’t interested, and the players were reluctant to take any responsibility. not their jobs, you see.

In their minds at least.

Well, I’ve got news for them.

No-one is absolved from blame for last night.

No-one at all.

Deila could have at least realised that although he may prefer to treat his players as adults, they aren’t behaving as such. He should have been screaming at them to get the finger out.

Scott Brown, who has served the club well, and is more than capable of hauling the rest of them to at least an acceptable level of effort, nowhere to be seen, and if he doesn’t fucking want the job, then say so and move on.

Too often last night, either Craig Gordon or a player about to take a throw in had nowhere to send the ball. where is the on field organisation ? Its why we have a captain, it’s also when we look to the more experienced players to pitch in.

Charlie Mulgrew made his 200th appearance for Celtic last night.

A milestone or a millstone ?

At one point he attempted to turn ith the ball. woefully one footed, he couldn’t manage a full circle as the speed he , er, attained would have embarrassed the pilot of an oil tanker.

And the support-if thats the word, don’t escape criticism either.

Yes , it was cold.

Yes, it was shite

Yes, it was perhaps a realisation that maybe the shirt has shrunk and is now on offer to more or less anybody who can out together a decnet you tube video and convince a clique of agents that they have a career in football, but it’s still a Celtic shirt.

And whilst it’s out on the field, it should not ever be booed.

Not ever.

And if we forget that, how can the players be expected to remember it ?

Time to start all over.

Today.

Today’s title takes the form of a word game.
