Norwich and QPR, curiously exactly the same clubs who were listed when Gary Hooper wanted to move south, are the named sides.

This, according to the paper, is why he turned down the new contract.

Here we go again…

He hasn’t, he didn’t, and he doesn’t want to go anywhere.

Now, wouldn’t it be odd if Ronny Deila were to deny having actually said that Forrest had turned down a contract ?

The poor kids head must be fried. If i was him, I would instruct his agent to make a statement along the lines that due to all the “confusion”, he will not be commenting on his contract for six weeks to allow him to concentrate on winning the league and Cup with Celtic.

The problem here is that , in my eyes at least, is a much bigger one than whether or not Forrest stays.

As we know, the board, lets refer to it as Peter Lawwell for simplicity’s sake, decide on who gets paid what, and for how long. It appears they also decide on who comes into the team. As they decide on the value of a contract, then no matter how much the coach wants a certain player, its ultimately their decision if he gets him.

Or if they go. Rememebr Ciftci and Nesbitt on the bench, against Partick ? Twenty four hours later, they were sitting in their new digs….

Lets be honest. Lawwell, and undoubtedly his support act as well, are good at what they do. They are what we might call money men. They are not people men. They are not football men in the sense that it is their primary industry.

So therefore, they should not have so much of an influence.

Ronny Deila has made his name as a coach, and despite what you might think, he’s good at it. However, the position he is in requires considerable man management skills, which thus far he seems unable to show he has.

We have , at one end of the room, a board concerned with share prices, dividends and balancing the books, and at the other, a man charged with putting a product into the market place for the consumer.

Or , we have a man who wants to build a football team which plays attractive and entertaining football, who wants to win domestically and rebuild a reputation in Europe. And we have a boardroom which will not allow him to make the crucial purchases required to move the business to the next level.

What we don’t have is a manager who can move n=between the two and get the best out of both.

And the thing is, those who can do that, wouldn’t come to Glasgow to ply their trade. The board wouldn’t pay the going rate, and the major selling point of Celtic, to anyone in the football world, the support, is being largely disillusioned with the current set up, and is beginning to drift away.

Or stay in the pub because its raining.

In business, a company must have something that the customer wants. something that makes the man in the street decide thats where he wants to spend his money, and for too long this boardroom has taken the green pound for granted.

If the product is poor, then no matter how loyal the customer base, sooner or later they will shop elsewhere.

Empires always crumble from within, usually due to a lack of strong leadership , and thats whats happening now.

There is no communication between customer and provider. the company’s PR hovers between non existant and even more non existant, and mean while, the customer grows more and more disaffected.

From my own observations , in the press and in the room, the current stewards at Celtic believe that all will be better when the current incarnation from the other side of the river arrives back on the scene.

It isn’t going to work out that way. The board have completely misread the support on this one.

But then, they would.

They have no people skills.

Well, that turned out a lot more depressing than I intended it to, so we’d better start to liven things up.

If you thought our board were leading us a merry dance, how about this, from the original soccer sensei, Mark Warburton, who dragged Brentford from obscurity and breathed life into Scotlands newest club ?

Hang on, that augars well for the future of Scottish football as the Murray Park Marbels are currently struggling in the Development league, which means the other teams must be fantastic.

“I want our players to be challenged as much as possible to prepare for the first team.” said the the new football visionary.

After 19 games, with just three home wins, his “colts” are sitting in 8th place, out of 17.

Yeah, they’re ready to step up.

It would be churlish of me to suggest that for Second Rangers to scrap their B team, and make everyone else scrap theirs too, is because they cannot afford to run it.

After all, this is a club with a world wide support, who are willing to put money in at the drop of a magic hat, a multi millionaire owner with a war chest so big they can’t find a ship or a plane big enough to bring it over from south Africa yet.

In fact, they are sitting on a pile of money so big, they didn’t even have to sell any of their squad last month, which is the first thing a team in trouble financially would do, wouldn’t it ?

So it can’t be that….can it ?

When I say B team, incidentally, I mean the reserves, because technically, the new club, if clubs playing out of Ibrox were to be numbered alphabetically, the first team would be the B team.

The press, of course, won’t even enter into discussion over the possibilty that its merely a finacial issue. which is a shame, especially given the brave stance on immigration from the Daily Express, which not only condemns the influx of foreign parasites, but pictures one, who has an enormous family which is draining the benefit system,

However, there was something in the paper which means that maybe, just maybe, there is a chance the game in Scotland might be turning towards a new policy where incompetence is dealt with severely, and the old order may also be going the way of Empires of the past..

SFA decide to axe Willie Collum over fears for whistler’s confidence after high-profile blunders in recent Premiership matches

Yeah, alright they mis-spelt competence, and used confidence, but the point is he’s been dropped for a while.

Hopefully, the pupils at the school he teaches won’t go out and buy several copies of the paper and paste story all over the school. Or the town, come to think of it. Kids can be cruel.

Collum has been more useless than usual, which is saying something, and he perhaps does need a breal to , er, refresh his memory on the basics.

Say, around thirty years or so.

News now, and this is a bit of an exclusive, on next seasons kit.

Designed in mind to help make it more difficult for opposition forwards to ease past our defenders, it looks like we’ve got a winner.

Right, your turn….

Caption competition…

Confusion surrounds the current situation with James Forrest.
