His left foot\u2019s a missile and his right\u2019s just as good
\nCheered on by his lovers and each of their brood
\nThey sit in the stands wi\u2019 the weans all on tow
\nAs he slips in to score, on the green grass below.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s the mischievous imp with that innocent smile
\nAnd, despite what they say, the wee man has style
\nHis tackling\u2019s not brilliant but he\u2019s up for the cause
\nAs one guy found out wi\u2019 a knee tae the baws!<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a striker, not perfect but he\u2019s the best that we\u2019ve got
\nAnd despite his Welsh name, Leigh Griffiths is a Scot,
\nWhen pulled by the ref he gives that unconscious stare
\nWith a wry smile that tells us: \u201cDo I look like I care?\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s scored thirty this season without breaking sweat
\nAnd we\u2019ll see plenty more hit the back of the net
\nSixty starts, fifty goals, the wee man got them telt
\nThe fastest ever tally since the founding of the Celts.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s the hunter, the hunted, he\u2019s our number nine
\nAnd his commitment\u2019s not questioned when he crosses that line
\nHe\u2019ll stand up and be counted, he doesn\u2019t know how to hide
\nAnd shows all the rest how to play with some pride<\/p>\n

The wee man\u2019s not frightened and he\u2019s definitely not shy
\nSo when he\u2019s a sub or brought off, we\u2019ve all questioned why
\nHe\u2019s there to break records and they\u2019re all in his sights
\nThe Thumb\u2019s the newest hero to the fans in green and white.<\/p>\n

Every club has their bust ups so don\u2019t dig out just him
\nThe guy was frustrated, just a punch thrown on a whim
\nHe\u2019s a fighter, a demon, but an embarrassment, No
\nSo stop pointing the finger and get on with the show.<\/p>\n

If you take out the madness who\u2019ve you got in the team?
\nWe want passion and pride, that bhoy from the scheme,
\nWe know he has issues and there\u2019ll be more to come
\nBut that\u2019s the guy we bought into, the man called The Thumb.<\/p>\n

We know he\u2019s got bottle and a wee bit off the wall
\nBut we\u2019ve got a striker who will give us his all
\nHe\u2019s playing for the Hoops and lives out our dreams
\nHe\u2019s committed to football, and Celtic, our team.<\/p>\n

With fans of every club, he has a wonderful rapport
\nLike when he scored at Tynecastle and ran to their support
\nThey were going mental, venom spewed out their eyes
\nAnd they hate him even more, now he\u2019s at Paradise.<\/p>\n
