Celtic’s very own stand up comedian hasn’t been allowed anywhere near the stage of late.<\/p>\n

He made up for that yesterday.<\/p>\n

The assistant manager was at Hampden for the League Cup semi final draw, which paired Celtic with Ross County, and couldn’t help himself.<\/p>\n

He may have felt he was defending his boss, Ronny Deila, or he may have been misquoted, but it would be much easier if he could maybe find out if the operation to remove one’s vocal chords is available on the NHS.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, we’ll have to have a whip round for him.<\/p>\n

On Deila’s style, he said;<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat would you expect him to change? Of course we want to tighten up.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAgainst Molde we were the better team in the two games. We created more chances and had more possession but they were more clinical.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThey defended, sat behind the ball and weren\u2019t bothered about any kind of possession, even at home. We couldn\u2019t play like that at home against Molde. The way they play, sitting back, they get away with it. But we don\u2019t want to play like that.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I think it’s only fair to remind him at this point that Celtic were beaten in both games, which negates his “better team ” theory, and as for not wanting to adopt the Molde style, which involves winning, then we may have a problem.<\/p>\n

Anyone watching Deila post match can see the hurt and anger.<\/p>\n

Anyone watching Collins can see he doesn’t give a toss.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to say I\u2019d rather lose but it is not something that excites me, playing football without the ball.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWould you like us to play five at the back, four in midfield, one up front, get the keeper to roll it to the edge of his box, kick it up the pitch, defend and try to get a counter attack?<\/em><\/p>\n

I’d have taken two 1-0 wins over Molde.<\/p>\n

I can see what he’s trying to say, but I’m a little worried about the complete lack of rationality in his statements.<\/p>\n

Get the job done first.<\/p>\n

Develop how you do it later.<\/p>\n

Should have thought that was common sense.<\/p>\n
