I’m going as the Scotland team.

There’s no need for a costume, I’ll just head out early.

As expected, there was another glorious failure last night when Strachan took another point in the campaign, taking the total to a less than impressive twelve from nine games. Two out of the last tweleve, and for some reason people want him to stay on.

People who like to have their summers free, presumably.

Still, Leigh Griffiths never got injured, and thats all that matters.

There’s one game left in the campaign, against Gibraltar. It’s on Sunday.

As if you care.

Theres many reasons for Scotlands exit, from being in a tough group to being a work in progress and so on, but the reality is the team, the management and the governing body didn’t do enough to qualify.

The team were all too often lackadaisial, the management were devoid of inspiration and invention, whilst the SFa still think that Hamoden is an intimidating venue.

You can’t get behind your team if you can’t bloody see them.

The SFA apologised for this scenario against Germany, but promptly repeated it last night against Poland.

If they don’t care, why should we ?

Back to Celtic, and there is news of another possible addition to the squad. John Souttar, of Dundee Utd, is the latest to be mentioned as the refugee crisis deepens in Dundee, with more and more youngsters seeking to start a new life in Glasgow.

He’s out of contract in the summer, and could well be here in January on a pre contract.

Dundee united are currently bottom of the league table. Thats because we’ve had all their players.

Former defender Virgil van Dijk, as hinted at in an earlier diary, may well have been taken out of context when he said he’d learned nothing from those fenian bastards at Celtic Park.

He tweeted that he would never disrespect Celtic and enjoyed his time at the club. and so on. And that we should not believe anything we read, especially if it’s being translated.

I was going to copy the tweet into the diary, but I got this;

You are blocked from following @VirgilvDijk and viewing @VirgilvDijk’s Tweets.

As I believe we all are.

So, whilst it is true that the press make things up to suit their own agenda, and he may well have been misquoted, he’s now going to suffer the ultimate punishment for anyone mentioned on this page, and he will now be known as virgil van dijk.

When Diary decides you are not worth having capital letters, then you know you have lost all credibility.

Speaking of the media, before the games last night, Celtics twitter timeline had a few good luck messages on it;

Which led to;

Hoops cause outrage by backing IRELAND

FURIOUS Scotland fans have hit out at Celtic after the club backed IRELAND for the win that knocked Gordon Strachan’s men OUT of Euro 2016.

Scotland’s qualifying dream died after their 2-2 draw with Poland and the Republic of Ireland’s shock 1-0 win over Germany.

If the Irish had failed to beat the world champions the Scots’ hopes would still be alive.

Or, if Scotland had got more than two points in their last four games, they would have had a chance as well.

Scotland will now miss out on yet another major finals with the Tartan Army stuck at home next summer instead of partying in France.

Before kick-off Celtic sent out a good-luck message to Martin O’Neill’s Ireland side and that infuriated Scotland fans.

There were no Celtic players in the Ireland squad.

The Hoops did also tweet their support for Scotland ahead of the Poland showdown.

But many fans – a lot of them Hoops supporters – were furious that Celts were backing another nation.

Mark Jones said: “Mon the Scotland, we’re a Scottish team no irish.”

Bizarrely, the article, by a chap called Robert Collins, who is presumably pissed off his dad named him after a Celtic legend, and the big boys at the lodge keep laughing at him because of it, goes on to name several tweeters who were outraged at the club.

They’re not worth quoting, but the article is worth mentioning.

In case you were thinking of buying the Sun.

Now you know you shouldn’t.

The Diary gives other newspapers a wee bit of stick, but also credit from time to time.

You’ll notice the Sun is rarely mentioned, largely because its a level even below the rest, which is no mean feat, and simply not worth the effort.

Unless it’s something particularly pathetic, such as this story.

Well, when I say story….

Sun Causes Outrage By Talking Shite.

To be fair, that happens so often it wouldn’t be a story either.

Still, it’s a good job they haven’t looked at the official site this morning…

CELTIC’S Scottish internationalists were left heartbroken last night (Thursday) after their 2-2 draw with Poland at Hampden ended their qualification hopes for next summer’s European Championships.

Gordon Strachan’s men went into last night’s massive match at the National Stadium needing to better the Republic of Ireland’s result in their respective game against World Champions Germany in Dublin to have any chance of qualifying for Euro 2016 but they had a nightmare start when Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the Poles inside four minutes.

The collapse came shortly after Celtic tweeted a good luck message to the Ireland squad which caused the Scots defence to fall apart and an Irish forward to score late on, which was exactly what we wanted, you tartan tossers.
