He doesn&#8217;t seem to rate Celtic;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;I said last year &#8211; and I meant it &#8211; that Salzburg were better than Olympiakos [Malmo&#8217;s Group A rivals last term] . And my professional judgement now, after the experience I have as coach, is the same this time.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;Salzburg are a better team than Celtic. Celtic are a good team. We have every respect for Celtic. But the truth is Salzburg are better and showed it in the Europa League last year too.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ronny Deila, adopting the character of psychotic Mr. Blond from Tarantino&#8217;s Reservoir Dogs character, replied;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/glow.beautygala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/51e19057dc5f932da7a3cbf208efea2f7a3ff346fe983328c4fdf21bfd0c94e4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Actually, what he really said was;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;We&#8217;ll see on Wednesday. That&#8217;s when they have to show they are better.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;European matches are tough \u2013 you win or lose on the smallest details. We&#8217;ll fight to show Hareide is wrong. The pressure is on him after what he said.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;We will find out on Wednesday if they are better.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s because Tarantino is a notorious litigator who would have pursued Ronny for using one of his lines. Have you seen that Direct Line insurance advert ? Harvey Keitel has to give all his money to Tarantino for using the Winston Wolf character to promote insurance policies.<\/p>\n<p>Probably.<\/p>\n<p>Airhead didn&#8217;t stop there. Prompted by an enthusiastic media, he continued barking, and spoke of his experience of Celtic and Scottish football&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u201cI\u2019ve followed Celtic from the early days, I\u2019m that old. I remember Jimmy\u2028Johnstone and the team that won the European Cup.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cI watched the Final against Inter Milan when I was young. Jimmy was a fantastic player and I remember all the names \u2013 Bobby Murdoch, Bobby Lennox, Billy McNeill. And after that guys like Danny McGrain. All of them were top players of European standard back then.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cScotland have always produced very good players. When I was playing in England in the 80s the Scotland team were better than the English. They had guys like Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness and Archie Gemmill.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cThey\u2019ve always produced good attacking players.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cWhen I was watching the Kilmarnock v Celtic game last week I was fascinated by the winger Forrest. He looked like a good old Scottish winger with pace and flair. He reminds me of Willie Johnston who I remember from his West Brom days.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cForrest is that type of player with quick feet. He\u2019s more of a winger than a midfielder \u2013 he\u2019s a throwback.\u201d \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">Bit harsh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/s3-media3.fl.yelpcdn.com\/bphoto\/zT-uJ1214UeURH7OVzsqGg\/o.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Then he started talking about Scots he has known, and anyone else he could think of. Such as Asa Hartford , once of Manchester City , when they couldn&#8217;t afford good players.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAsa is a close friend of mine from our days at Man City. I see a lot of him and I\u2019ve invited him to the game in Glasgow.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe doesn\u2019t know too much about Celtic now. In fact I know more about them than Asa! He follows the English leagues more now as he does scouting there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI played with a few Scots. Tommy Hutchison was at City\u2028as were Gerry Gow and Bobby McDonald.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAt Norwich I played with Ross Jack. We\u2019d play five-a-sides \u2013 it was the rest of the world v England. So I was with the Scots along with Martin O\u2019Neill. We had a good team.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI know Martin well because we played together at City and Norwich. We actually had a reunion at Norwich in 2003 and Martin brought his Celtic team down for a game.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhen I had the Norway national team I\u2019d go over to Aston Villa while Martin was there to watch my player John Carew. He\u2019s a good man.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI met Scotland twice when I was Norway manager so I know all about them. We\u2019re practically related to the Scots!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cScottish football fascinates me because I think there is a lot of potential in the players there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSince Ronny has come to Celtic it has strengthened the Scandinavian relationship with Celtic.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cIt started with Henrik Larsson and from there Celtic have had a lot of followers over here.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cWe always look at the Scottish league to see the qualities of the teams there.\u201d \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">Satisfied with his speech, he put his Wikipedia notes to one side, and leant back in his seat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">So, what do we know about Hareide ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">He&#8217;s been around a bit;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\"><em><b>\u00c5ge Fridtjof Hareide<\/b>\u00a0(born 23 September 1953 in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Hareid\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hareid\">Hareid<\/a>) is a\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Norway\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Norway\">Norwegian<\/a>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Association football\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Association_football\">football<\/a>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Manager (association football)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manager_(association_football)\">manager<\/a>\u00a0and the current manager of\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Malm\u00f6 FF\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malm%C3%B6_FF\">Malm\u00f6 FF<\/a>in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Allsvenskan\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Allsvenskan\">Allsvenskan<\/a>. In his playing career, he played for\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"IL H\u00f8dd\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IL_H%C3%B8dd\">H\u00f8dd<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Molde FK\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Molde_FK\">Molde<\/a>\u00a0in Norway as well as\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Manchester City F.C.\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manchester_City_F.C.\">Manchester City<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Norwich City F.C.\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Norwich_City_F.C.\">Norwich City<\/a>\u00a0in England. Hareide was capped 50 times playing for\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Norway national football team\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Norway_national_football_team\">Norway<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\">24 games for Man city, 40 for Norwich between 81 and 84. The rest of his career was in Scandinavia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\"><em>As a coach, Hareide has won league titles in all of the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Scandinavia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scandinavia\">Scandinavian<\/a>\u00a0countries,<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C3%85ge_Hareide#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0In Sweden with\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Helsingborgs IF\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Helsingborgs_IF\">Helsingborgs IF<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"1999 Allsvenskan\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1999_Allsvenskan\">1999<\/a>\u00a0and with<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Malm\u00f6 FF\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malm%C3%B6_FF\">Malm\u00f6 FF<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"2014 Allsvenskan\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2014_Allsvenskan\">2014<\/a>, in Denmark with\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Br\u00f8ndby IF\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Br%C3%B8ndby_IF\">Br\u00f8ndby<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"2001\u201302 Danish Superliga\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2001%E2%80%9302_Danish_Superliga\">2001\u201302<\/a>\u00a0and in his native Norway with\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Rosenborg BK\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rosenborg_BK\">Rosenborg<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"2003 Tippeligaen\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2003_Tippeligaen\">2003<\/a>. Hareide was in charge of the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Norway national football team\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Norway_national_football_team\">Norway national team<\/a>\u00a0from 2003 to 2008.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\"><em>As a coach Hareide has won three European countries&#8217;\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"League system\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/League_system\">national league championships<\/a>, namely that of Denmark, Sweden and his native Norway, placing him alongside\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Trond Sollied\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Trond_Sollied\">Trond Sollied<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Sven-G\u00f6ran Eriksson\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sven-G%C3%B6ran_Eriksson\">Sven-G\u00f6ran Eriksson<\/a>\u00a0while\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Ernst Happel\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ernst_Happel\">Ernst Happel<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Giovanni Trapattoni\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Giovanni_Trapattoni\">Giovanni Trapattoni<\/a>\u00a0have won championships in four different countries.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\">No mean feat, but it&#8217;s only one more than relative rookie Ronny Deila.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\">He&#8217;s no dud, that&#8217;s certain, but one wonders why a man with his experience is talking so much, and so much shite at that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\">Ronny seemed to have caught the bug. He was asked if Scott Allan would be included in the squad for the tie;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\"><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;We will see it is not as if Scott Allan is going to come in here and be the king from the first minute. Nobody is expecting that.<\/span><\/em><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\">&#8220;I don&#8217;t think he will go straight in. Nobody has done that, almost.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #252525;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www2.pictures.zimbio.com\/gi\/Celtic+v+Maribor+x0gVcFmeQDel.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/span><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Wonder how long he paused for before he added &#8220;almost &#8221; ?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Berget , the man above, in case you had forgotten him, or deliberately wiped him from memory, also had a few things to say;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u00a0\u201cI felt I deserved another shot at Celtic. I did well in the Champions League qualifier against Maribor away from home and then scored two goals against Dundee United in the league.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cBut after that, I got subbed before half-time at Dundee and that was the end for me there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cThe team started to play well and the manager didn\u2019t want to change it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cRonny Deila told me that things weren\u2019t going the way he had hoped for me and, to be fair, his changes worked. I \u2028understood. I didn\u2019t agree with him but I had no hard feelings.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cI knew after the Dundee game my time would be up because even before then things weren\u2019t good.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cThen when you get taken off at half-time, as a player, you know you\u2019re not going to play. After that I didn\u2019t get a chance.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cIt\u2019s frustrating for me that I didn\u2019t show my best at Celtic because it was a chance for me at a huge club.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cI\u2019ve got a new opportunity here at Malmo and I want to take it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cIt would have been nice for the Celtic fans to remember me for what I did at the club.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cBut they probably only remember me as a guy who played a handful of games for them and didn\u2019t do much.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cI expect they see me as just some random guy.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">He can relax. Thats not how we see him at all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">No . Not at all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">Perhaps he just arrived with too much baggage&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sandiegosportswire.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/11\/donkey-pulling-cart.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\n<p><em>\u201cSo, of course, I\u2019d like to prove to them that I\u2019m a good player. But, more importantly, I have to prove it to myself and the Malmo supporters because that\u2019s where I am now.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019d like to show Celtic they were wrong about me and I\u2019ll have a bit of extra motivation for this game because I have a point to prove.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI have to say, off the pitch, the Celtic fans were great with me. They were supportive of me when I met them and I have no problem with them at all.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u00a0<em>I\u2019ve told my team-mates here at Malmo all about Celtic. I know all of the players and I\u2019ve also told them about the \u2028atmosphere at Parkhead.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cVirgil has \u2028everything as a defender.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cStefan has just got better and better too. He has been pushed further up the field and that has really suited him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cI lived with Stefan for the first six weeks of my time there. His missus cooked me some good dinners but maybe that\u2019s why it didn\u2019t work out for me at Celtic.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cThings were going well when I lived there but it went downhill as soon as I moved out.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">Yes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">That would explain it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">Still, it&#8217;s hard to forget the sight of him racing down the wing&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ0deQsENdr3ExOHcPK3yooxcYdL-gO_WOQhbpOKUq0jma9zRmJiQ\" alt=\"Image result for donkey with a football\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\n<p>Malmo are on a bit of a roll just now, with three wins in their last three games after a bit of a dodgy start to their season, but we&#8217;ll do more on their current form and squad tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u00a0it&#8217;s worth mentioning their support today, who seem like a decent bunch;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Malm\u00f6 FF are well known for their large local following.<sup id=\"cite_ref-44\" class=\"reference\"><a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malm%C3%B6_FF#cite_note-44\">[43]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The club has several fan clubs, of which the largest is the official fan club\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"MFF Support\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MFF_Support\">MFF Support<\/a>. It was founded in 1992. MFF Support describes itself as &#8220;a non-profit and non-political organization working against violence and racism&#8221;.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Support_12-1\" class=\"reference\"><a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malm%C3%B6_FF#cite_note-Support-12\">[11]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The current chairman of MFF Support is Magnus Ericsson.<sup id=\"cite_ref-45\" class=\"reference\"><a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malm%C3%B6_FF#cite_note-45\">[44]<\/a><\/sup><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\"><em>There are also several smaller independent supporter groups. The most prominent of these is Supras Malm\u00f6, which was founded in 2003 by a coalition of smaller\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Ultras\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ultras\">ultras<\/a>\u00a0groups and devoted fans.<sup id=\"cite_ref-46\" class=\"reference\"><a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malm%C3%B6_FF#cite_note-46\">[45]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The name &#8220;Supras&#8221; is derived from the words\u00a0supporters\u00a0and\u00a0ultras\u00a0\u2013 the latter indicating that the group is inspired by a fan culture with roots in the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Mediterranean\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mediterranean\">Mediterranean<\/a>. Supras Malm\u00f6 is the most visible group in the main supporter stand at\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0b0080;\" title=\"Swedbank Stadion\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Swedbank_Stadion\">Swedbank Stadion<\/a>, marking its presence with banners, flags and choreography. Another group with similar goals is Rex Scania.
