Nadir Ciftci will sit out six games, with a further two game ban held in suspension after he made the error of telling the SFA he played for Celtic. On a lighter note Ronny Deila avoided a ban and there was no retrospective booking for Scott Brown, who were charged with talking to Ciftci in the dressing room.<\/p>\n

Comedian Simon Brodkin got himself into a little bit of bother when he threw money at FIFA boss Sepp Blatter, as a protest against corruption in the world game. Clearly it wasn’t something he thought through as he now has to host the 2026 World Cup on his front lawn.<\/p>\n

With Ciftci now banned domestically, somehow the Evening Times reckons it will help Celtic in the champions League. Which is not what John collins said, not as such, anyway;<\/p>\n

“Obviously he won’t be available for early league games but he will be fresh for European games so for every negative there is a positive.<\/em><\/p>\n

The squad flew out to Iceland yesterday, to acclimitise and get ready to defend a two goal lead, and whilst it could have been more, you’d be happy starting any game anywhere with a two goal advantage, knowing that one strike leaves the other side needing four.<\/p>\n

The addition of Ciftci means he has signed someone specifically to play a role in his number one system, which means Leigh Griffiths has another fight on his hands to keep his place, and it also explains why the Turk started ahead of the Scot in the first leg. Ciftci has travelled, so he must be in Ronny’s plans.<\/div>\n

China\u2019s\u00a0LeTv Sports<\/a>\u00a0is to acquire a large package of\u00a0soccer<\/a>\u00a0and other rights in a deal with\u00a0MP & Silva<\/a>, a Singapore-based\u00a0sports<\/a>\u00a0marketing firm.<\/em><\/p>\n

The deal is styled as a strategic alliance between the two companies and gives them room to develop joint projects in the future.<\/em><\/p>\n

LeTv Sports plans to broadcast some 1,800 hours of live soccer per season on its digital platform. Rights covered by the deal include Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, England\u2019s FA Cup, Sky Bet Football League Championship, Capital One Cup, Scottish Professional Football League, Belgian Jupiler Pro League, the Brazil National Team Global Tour matches, the England\u00a0national team and under-23 home friendly matches, and the (recently completed) Copa America 2015.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cLetv Sports is always looking to establish itself as a leader in this industry and invest in the world\u2019s most compelling sports media rights,\u201d said Lei Zhenjian, CEO of Letv Sports.<\/em><\/p>\n

64 fixed penalties issued during Orange march<\/h1>\n

POLICE issued 64 fixed penalties during and after the Orange Walk in Motherwell earlier this month.<\/em><\/p>\n

Three people were also arrested for “low-level disorder” at the parade on July 11.<\/em><\/p>\n

The fixed penalties were issued for offences including\u00a0drinking and urination in the street.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
