Thats because it is beng sold as a resumption of hostilities between the two Glasgow sides. Of course we know it isn’t, but it suits their agenda.

I’m fed up of that.

Tomorrows weather, combined with the fact that those powers that be have decided to use Hampden for the Dundee United -Aberdeen game as well today means that the pitch may not be suited to the slick , fast passing game Celtic prefer to employ. It might be worth noting, however, that several of the Second Rangers squad are approaching their forties, and its unlikely that the big pitch and heavy conditions will suit them at all.

And with that observation, any argument that the game might even be remotely close have disappeared out the window and along the road to the bus stop.

There is the possibility, again remote, that the Ibrox club will resort to a highly physical game, with several cynical fouls. Well, they usually do anyway, but again the relative fitness of the two sides means its unlikely that any of their players will get anywhere near enough to any of ours to kick them. They could throw stones at them , I suppose, but even then would probably end up straining a back muscle or something.

Disrespectful ? Probably.

An accurate and honest opinion of the relative merits of each side ? Absolutely.

Most Celtic supporters would struggle to offer a strongest line up from what they know of the current squad at Ibrox, and anyway, its irrelevant who hey field, as their players will be less fit, they will be slower, and they will be less talented than the ones at Celtic. No matter how much you dress it up as an “Old Firm ” game where form doesn’t matter, and anything can happen, the facts are simple,

Second Rangers are adrift in a division of the league below the one currently led by Celtic. They are not a good side, and that will be evident tomorrow.

They are into their second manager of the season already, and he resigned a couple of weeks ago.

The players are a mix of average youngsters and over the hill cloggers, all of which , more or less, are available on a pre contract this month should anyone want to snap them up for free.

No-one has.

If Celtic play to their strengths, quick passing, plenty of movement and chasing down their opponents in possession, then it will be a non event football wise, a one sided game which probably doesn;t even deserve to be described as a “match ”

ts really that simple.

Manager Ronny Deila hasn’t allowed himself to get caught up in the hype. He knows the score. A win tomorrow sets up the first leg of a memorable treble, and thats without European success, which may not be likely, but isn’t impossible.

Especially with a confident side playing as a team.

He’ll have Craig Gordon in goal, Mikael Lustig at right back, Emilio Izaguerre at left back and Jason Denaayer will partner Virgil van Dijk at the back. The full backs will bomd forward, and the centre backs will take it in turns to mop up the long hopeful balls punted toward them every time the Ibrox side have possession.

Scott Brown and Nir bitton will harass the midfield and protect the back line, whilst also feeding the next three of Kris Commons, Stefan Johansen and Anthony Stokes, who will also harass the defenders if play breaks down when they attemopt to supply john Guidetti.

There are whispers that Guidetti is not quite fit, which leaves room for Leigh /griffiths, who i think would be a better option up front, but I think Deila will go with the Swede. This is entirely based on the fact that its impossible to predict a Deila line up, and if one of thise is wrong i hope its Griffiths who gets the nod.

Predictions ?

Well, that 7-0 would be nice, but any win will do. I have to think it will be a higher victory than most, although the Celts may settle for four or five and ease off, purely so they don’t get injured ahead of the big game to come against Dundee next week, after all , thats a level up in opposition, and theres no need to get crocked when you are well ahead against a lower league side.

A betting man would be on a high number of bookings-Celtics full backs, and Scott Brown are certs to be shown a card, as are . well, McCulloch, Black, Miller, that fat bloke who eats crisps, and to be honest, thats all i know about them.

But from what I’ve seen, perhaps the only song around Hampden tomorrow should really be

You’re not Very Good….

Disrespectful enough yet ? Probably

An honest and valid opinion.

Absolutely.

Jimmy McGrory scored his last goal for Celtic against Desmond Whites Queens Park. White of course , went on to be chairman of Celtic.

Who is this, and who are the opponents ?

By the way, i want to tell you about a real, genuine Celtic supporter, who had a couple of tickets for tomorrows game available,

If you are thinking of putting a couple of quid in a tin this weekend, do it in memory of tonys mother

You’d better not sing, you’d better not try You’d better not chant, I’m telling you why.
