Some think he should be given time, others don&#8217;t think he has done anything to deserve it. However, the MSM can smell blood, and since there is no domestic football due to the international break, they will be wheeling out anyone and everyone with an opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Well, as long as that opinion is the same as theirs. Its going to be open season on the Norwegian.<\/p>\n<p>Which is why the diary is going to leave it until the next game to make further comment on his abilities. As supporters, we have a right to express our opinion, but former players and journalists , in my opinion, don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>They get paid for their thoughts, which renders them invalid. After all, if their ramblings sell papers, they will be asked to repeat themselves, and its easy for them to toe the line, sometimes, granted, without knowing they are doing it.<\/p>\n<p>So, whilst Chris Sutton hints at cracks in the relationship between manager and players, and John Hartson rambles on about whatever it is he hasn&#8217;t seen this time, but feels it neccessary to repeat it as fact, we&#8217;ll leave them to one side for a while, and concentrate on the words of those at the club.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Johansen, for instance;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u00a0<em>\u201cWe all stand together and the players are fully behind him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cSo are the supporters, but if the press and some fans have different opinions, then that is allowed too.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cThat\u2019s football. We have experienced players who have seen this before. There are no problems.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cHe\u2019s been criticised but there is criticism everywhere in football. None of us has any problem with that. It\u2019s a results-orientated club with a lot of pressure.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cWe\u2019ve had some good weeks too and if we\u2019d beaten Hamilton we wouldn\u2019t have had these issues. But we just have to deal with it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cIt\u2019s not the crisis everyone is making out. We should have won against Hamilton \u2013 we had 15 chances \u2013 but it was just one of those days when the ball wouldn\u2019t go in. Then they score one goal and it becomes a crisis.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cIt looks far worse from the outside than it really is.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><em>\u201cWe\u2019ve made a good start in the Europa League and if we win our game in hand in the league we are only three points behind.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u00a0He&#8217;s not panicking-maybe because he hasn&#8217;t quite realised the importance of not being in sixth place to the support, but in times of crisis, a cool head is required, so we&#8217;ll have to wait and see.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u00a0Elsehwere, a row has blown up over the comments made in the match programme between Livingston and Second Rangers last week. Scotlands newest club have taken exception to being referred to as, er, Scotlands newest club;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">Heres what was in the programme;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/BzHRD8iCYAAp6W2.jpg\" alt=\"Embedded image permalink\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u00a0Livingston Chairman Gordon MacDougall initially defended the authors stance;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<em>\u201cWe are fortunate to have a small, but devoted group of people who produce our match programme here at Livingston,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThose people spend hours of unpaid time preparing their copy and scoring points in print is not part of our club\u2019s agenda.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThey are all fans of this club who have followed our own chequered history, often critically, as it has ironically followed a similar path to that of Rangers in recent years.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u201cI can only offer my sincere apologies to any fans who have been offended by what was written as there was no intention to offend anyone.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>\u201cIt did place a bit of a dampener on what had been a really enjoyable afternoon for myself personally as it had been a pleasure being able to help the many Rangers fans who had ticketing problems etc, including finding seats for a blind supporter and those who had not received their postal delivery.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>\u201cThe game was also played in great spirit by all concerned. As a true football fan who has paid my way through the turnstiles for countless years before entering the boardroom, I fully understand the emotion involved for their fans in the current Rangers situation.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0Then things got ugly, when Sevco cheerleader Matt Lindsay reported on the story for the Evening Times;<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"article-title\" style=\"color: #333333;\">Rangers demand apology over Livi programme article<\/h1>\n<p style=\"color: #999999;\"><em>RANGERS today received an apology from Livingston over what the Ibrox club described as \u201coutrageous and unacceptable\u201d content in their match programme.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The usual standard of dross from Lindsay in the headline and opener. Have they demanded an apology, or have they received one ?<\/p>\n<p>Read on&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>The Ibrox club will also report their SPFL Championship rivals to the governing body over the \u201cerroneous material\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Presumably the bit where he describes them as a &#8220;football club &#8221; and not a &#8221; vehicle for asset strippers to line their own pockets at supporters expense &#8220;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>Gers fans were incensed at two articles which appeared in the programme, for which Livi chief Gordon McDougall has now apologised.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0Not as incensed as the bold Matt, it seems. He&#8217;s a tad miffed himself;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eveningtimes.co.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/imagecache\/author_photo\/MatthewLindsay.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>One story referred to \u201cthe club then known as Rangers\u201d playing a game against Hibs three years ago. It went on to state \u201ca brand new club\u201d had been established after the old parent company was liquidated back in 2012.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Er, it was, it was and it was the club that was liquidated, not the parent company. It says so in the court papers. In fact, it said it in all sorts of papers<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/etims.net\/?attachment_id=5717\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5717\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5717\" src=\"https:\/\/etims.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/rip-rangers.jpg\" alt=\"rip rangers\" width=\"199\" height=\"253\" srcset=\"https:\/\/etims.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/rip-rangers.jpg 199w, https:\/\/etims.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/rip-rangers-117x150.jpg 117w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Including the Evening times, on the 14th of June, 2012;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>Ano<\/em><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"article-title\" style=\"font-style: normal; color: #333333;\">140 years of Rangers liquidated &#8230; after just 8 minutes of meeting<\/h1>\n<p style=\"font-style: normal; color: #999999;\"><strong>RANGERS were today finally liquidated &#8211; inside just eight minutes&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>ther story in the Livingston programme mentioned the West Lothian club\u2019s record against the \u201cnow-defunct outfit\u201d and \u201cthe newly-formed Rangers\u201d.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Perhaps they got it from the Evening Times;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The CVA proposal tabled to rescue the stricken football club has been formally rejected by creditors at a quickfire 10am meeting at Ibrox Stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Glasgow club will now be reformed as a &#8216;newco&#8217; inside the next 24 hours and that will be called The Rangers Football Club.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Just 30 of the creditors owed money by the troubled Ibrox club attended in person or were represented by lawyers acting on their behalf, with others sending proxy votes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The result of the meeting was, of course, already a fait accompli given that major creditor, Her Majesty&#8217;s Revenue and Customs, confirmed on Tuesday that it would reject the \u00a38.5million Company Voluntary Agreement package tabled by Charles Green, the man who is attempting to take over the club which has been in administration since February 14, forcing liquidation of the existing plc.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #444444;\">Ally McCoist sat at the back of the room and he wore the look of a broken man as he realised his days at the helm of the Ibrox side were numbered.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>However, High Court judge Lord Nimmo Smith ruled that Rangers was a \u201crecognisable entity which continued in existence notwithstanding the\u00a0change in ownership&#8221; two years ago.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Which, of course, will interest Hector when they try to dodge paying any tax owed by oldco.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSuhTv0wQiO_SrDnf8R9IUVsQaVppa2S0zBvIdcFJmNcv9ChzBAFg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>Livingston officials are believed to be horrified by the comments that appeared in the official publication which is edited by supporter Andy Crawford.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">No, they weren&#8217;t. See above.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>However, Rangers still want their rivals, who they defeated 1-0 at the weekend, to apologise over the offence caused to the 54-times Scottish champions.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">I thought you said they had apologised ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>A club statement read: &#8220;The content written about the football club and our players was outrageous and entirely unacceptable.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We will be raising the issue with the SPFL and seeking an apology from Livingston FC, who had a duty to prevent such erroneous material from appearing in their programme.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Livingston should tell them to sue if they are not happy. That would shut them up.<\/p>\n<p><em>Meanwhile, Rangers are set to escape any sanction from the SPFL over the crowd trouble that flared in the stands and outside the stadium in Livingston on Saturday.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>However, the League One champions are set to issue anyone who is convicted following the unrest at the weekend with banning orders from their matches.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It was Chelsea fans. We know.<\/p>\n<p><em>There were violent scuffles between Gers fans and police and stewards in one section of the stands during the first half of the second-tier game.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Livingston safety officer Alan Scott confirmed: &#8220;There were five people arrested. The stewards and police assisted each other in dealing with the matter and no police or stewards were injured.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And after the match mounted police reportedly had to break up an altercation between Rangers and Livingston supporters in the car park of nearby supermarket Lidl.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The incidents are set to be mentioned in the official report to the SPFL by match delegate Alan Dick that should arrive at the Hampden offices of the governing body tomorrow.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Where they will imediately placed in the file&#8230;..for future discussion, at the appropriate juncture, in the fullness of time etc.<\/p>\n<p><em>However, Rangers are confident their preparations for the match were professional and in accordance with strict guidelines laid down by the SPFL. They should, therefore, escape any official censure<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>After the match, Rangers manager Ally McCoist commented: &#8220;I did see it and it looked pretty unsavoury, but until I get a report on it I would be loath to comment other than to say we can do without incidents like that.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0What he means is he is saying nothing until someone tells him what to say.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0Matt Lindsay, of the Evening Times.
