The sooner Davie Moyes tells us yes or no the sooner Roy Keane and Peter Lawwell can have their first punch up on the car park.<\/p>\n<p>Forget about everyone else. It will be one of these two. Or should that be forget about these two, it will be someone else?<\/p>\n<p>Graham Taylor, who gave us so much fun when he was England manager, has endorsed Malky Mackay, because he would know what is needed at Celtic.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">&#8221; Were he to become the manager, I\u2019d look upon that as a very good appointment.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Er, thanks Graham. I&#8217;m sure your input will make all the difference. We could sing Roll of Honour , quietly though, in case someone is listening<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRqS7xyYtXdc-ruV4WHOGqgncBaoA0kV7FT4jpTFJSWQuKxW620\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ludicrously, seven Celtic supporters will face trial for singing that particular ditty, presumably just as soon as the prosecution can come up with a case that makes some sort of sense.<\/p>\n<p>They are believed to have sought advice on making the charges stick from virulent anti communist former US senator Joe McCarthy \u00a0on how to secure a prosecution when the accused hasn&#8217;t done anything wrong, but even he is reputed to have told them to grow up.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRKRbCJPZzIbeFfbbobDwovNf8CF-51D1lzSz-Xt9NpIOx-awIY\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well, he would have done had he not died in 1957.<\/p>\n<p>Back to the football, and now that we have accepted that it will be Moyes or Keane, we can also reveal the real reason why Michael Laudrup was never going to take the job, according to a chap on twitter;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/BoyEiFXIUAAlbLh.jpg\" alt=\"Embedded image permalink\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With that sort of attention to detail, no wonder they don&#8217;t think their club died.<\/p>\n<p>Theres a serious revelation in the Evening Times about illegal betting in football -something that reared its head last night when there were stories about a possible match fixing scandal between Scotland and Nigeria , who drew 2-2 in London.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>A THIRD of Scottish footballers questioned in a shocking new survey have admitted breaking the rules on betting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The study, carried out by FIFPro, the global union for professional footballers, exposes the extent of gambling within the game in this country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Around 2,000 players from around the world took part in the poll, which revealed 32% of footballers in Scotland admitted breaking betting rules.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The study states: &#8220;The relatively large number of players (32%) who have knowingly bet against the rules is a cause for concern &#8211; especially as this may be an under-reported figure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<em>So, lets try to work out exactly how many Scots players were asked. If it was 100, which would be a reasonable sample, and thus lend some merit to the survey, that means it was thirty two. They wouldn&#8217;t have had so many from such a small country if it was a world wide survey. . So, was it 16 of 50 ? Unlikely. 8 from 25 ? Has to be. Lower than that is four from twelve and a half. \u00a0Thats quite high, but its a relatively small sample. You know when McCoist waved his list around when Ian Black got caught, why didn&#8217;t you ask to see it ? Or ask him to elaborate ?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"js-tweet-text tweet-text\" style=\"color: #292f33;\">\u00a0Thats what journalists do, at least in other countries., when confronted by a scandal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"js-tweet-text tweet-text\" style=\"color: #292f33;\">Perhaps the problem is one of communication, as Jack ross , from the PFA in Scotland , told the paper;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">PFA Scotland official Jack Ross today said it was important to stress the difference between illegal betting and match-fixing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">He said: &#8220;Change doesn&#8217;t come overnight, but it is important to continue educating players about this issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;In the past, there was a general lack of awareness about the rules, but we have made a lot of progress in the last two and a half years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>I had to read that twice. Two and a half years &#8221; educating players &#8221; that you cannot bet on the football in Scotland. For the 30-year-old, it was like she was waiting to make her debut as a player.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">It was almost a year since the striker pulled on the Hoops in a competitive match, and she was set to come on for the second half of the League Cup semi-final against Hibernian.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">And the reason for that enforced absence? She had taken time out from playing to have a baby. And with her son, Oscar, now almost six months old, Suzanne is now getting back to the level of fitness required to play in the Scottish Women\u2019s Premier League.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">And she scored her first goal for the Hoops since returning to the club in last weekend\u2019s 3-1 victory over Hamilton Accies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Not that Suzanne had been out of action for 12 months. During her pregnancy, she still trained, although all form of contact was ruled out after three months. And then, just five weeks after giving birth, she played 90 minutes for Keynsham Town in Bristol, a team she turns out for during the winter shutdown of the Scottish women\u2019s season. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>I&#8217;ve think I&#8217;ve just found the very person to fill the newly created &#8220;Attitude Coach &#8221; position at Celtic Park.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Get her in charge of \u00a0shouting at the players at half time. Compare her attitude to the game with that of any modern day professional , and its a stark reminder of how far the game has become removed from reality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0See when a player is whinging about a twang in his hamstring, get her in to tell them about how she had her baby -which I believe smarts a bit-and was back playing in less time than it takes most players to recover from a \u00a0cough.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0I&#8217;m not kidding, we need more people with her attitude around the club.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Anyone who is in any doubt about who pulls the strings at Celtic should heed the words of Mikael Lustig, who is discussing a new contract with the club. Lustig, one of the few players allowed a new contract, didn&#8217;t say who his people were talking to, but they are talking;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u201cI have a year left on my contract, and we are discussing an extension.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u201cWe will see if we reach agreement or what happens but there is no stress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u201cI expect to be playing for Celtic next season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u201cWe enjoyed good times with Neil Lennon and he has done an awful lot for us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u201cWe have achieved great success in the two and a half years I have been there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2c2c2c;\">\u201cIt was disappointing he left but that is football.
