We know the seats still warm but every minute is precious when it comes to filling “The 2nd most important role at Celtic Park” (copyright Peter Lawwell). Here are some of the clear contenders……<\/p>\n

David Moyes<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"moyes\" <\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0Hes available and he has a point to prove. He has money in the bank so wages may be negotiable. Hes won a few things in his time as a manager.
\nIs he yesterdays man though? Is his idea of football going to get you excited? Be honest, who would you rather have, a Moyes or a Martinez?<\/span><\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"larrson\"Henrik Larsson<\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\nThey say Heroes should never go home, or something like that. Henrik the Ghod could prove to be a mere mortal at such a high pressure role. We would all wish him all the best but would it be in hope rather than confidence given his low career as a manager in Sweden so far. Has he been cutting his teeth, biding his time or been found out..will Peter take a leap of faith, you can bet the fans will but most would secretly be biting their nails and hoping all works out okay.<\/span><\/span>

\"johann\"Johann Mjallby<\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\nDid he walk when he knew he wasnt Lennys immediate successor. Seems strange he wasnt considered given big Johann knows the club, management and the current players so well. Could Henrik possibly tempt him to return or has Mjallby lost that Celtic loving feeling for now at least?<\/span><\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"clarke\"Steve Clarke<\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\nFree, available and a renowned coach with experience at big clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool. May have more flexibility at celtic Park rather than the killzone that is the EPL. Would he handle the media invasion though, big leap from a West brom to a Celtic. Would he consider a number 2 role with Henrik perhaps?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"lambert\"Paul Lambert<\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\nGreat CV as a player and a Celt and has had success as a manager. There are mixed opinions after the latest period at Villa, is relegation battle due to his hands being tied by an owner cutting costs and seeking an exit or has Lambos limitations been shown at the higher level after success in lower leagues in England. Would we want to be paying compensation for a manager who been linked with he sack all season?<\/span><\/span>

\"malky\"Malky MacKay<\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\nDid well winning promotion with Watford but then sacked at Cardiff and still being blamed by the Chairman for that clubs relegation. big malky may be steady and dependable\u00a0 but after some errant and highly expensive signings last season, would he even dare chap Peter Lawwells door despite himself being available for free?<\/span><\/span>
\n<\/span>

\nDid well at Swindon. Should I stop there? After the debacle at Sunderland, theres next to no chance of Dicanio getting the reverse charge call from our CEO. You can just imagine Paulo daring the\u00a0 celtic support for a square-go after a disastrous humping from Moldava Waiters XI in the CL qualifiers. The Superstore could sell plenty of steel tipped Celtic slippers mind you!<\/span>

\nSteady as he goes in management so far with Partick promoted and Dundee United getting to a final. A Wee trip up in Scottish Cup Final but progressing well. Gubbed Sevco twice tae. Might be too early for the big leap into the big chair but would surely say yes if the call came from Lawwell. Europe would be a whole new world <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nSuccess so far has followed our very own Frank Gallagher as he skips up the leagues and runs down the touchline. This would seem a step way to far for the recently promoted Dundee manager but you can be sure Hartley is thinking of that Celtic dug-out one day down the line.<\/span><\/span>

\nHey, we’re having every other former Celt who is a manager so why not Big Yogi. Doing okay at Caley and got them to the League Cup final before falling to Aberdeen at the last hurdle. Not a sexy enough signing for fans or sponsors sadly but still deserves a bookies rating nonetheless.<\/span><\/span>

Promote from within!. <\/span><\/span>Now when has that strategy ever worked out for our club. Kennedy <\/span><\/span>knows the club and also possibly more importantly he \u00a0knows the talent coming through the ranks and how to play the Celtic Way.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Could we have our own Pep waiting in the wings?.<\/span><\/span>

\nIts a new dawn in the manager world, Klopp, Simeone and Rodgers are showing that new young ideas might just be the way forward. Could Celtic look to recruit some young buck with fresh new ideas and a Powerpoint Diploma? Could we see Lawwell hop over to La Liga and bring back the next Mauricio Pochettino…..wait hold on….why can’t we just go get him instead?<\/span><\/span>

Deak McWilliams, chairman of The Union of Rangers Diehards group has today condemned news that Scotland manager Gordon Strachan is rumoured to be considering a move back to Glasgow Celtic. Strachan, who has recently restored pride to Scotland national team fans, is rumoured to be interested in a return to Celtic Park following the shock resignation of manager Neil lennon.<\/p>\n

When informed that Strachan may be offered even just a possible short term deal to help Celtic steer through the early European qualifying rounds, the astonished group spokesman was quick to respond, “This is not on” said McWilliam. “If you take a job with the responsibilities that come with such a high profile role as the Scotland manager then you cannot just walk away. Strachan has made a firm commitment and no matter the success he had at Celtic before, he is Scotland manager now and should not be allowed to rejoin his former club. At the very least, I would expect massive compensation to be made to the SFA by Celtic, should they dare remove a current Scotland manager from his place of office”.<\/p>\n
