What is it about our club and Nemeses(yeah I did have to check the plural in Google) named Mo?

Celtic lined up with a solid safe 11, Samaras in for Stokes and Brown and Ledley protecting the back 4. The first half was mostly Elfsborg huffing and puffing, Bangura cheekily threatening to really push his luck when trying a Larsson worthy chest-trap-come-overhead kick attempt that narrowly passed outside of Forsters right hand post. Bangura then reminded us all why he is back in Sweden when he headed high and wide when in the clear. To be fair he had a decent half but the best chances actually fell to Sammi who Banguraed his own header and Joe Ledley who saw a stretching shot saved by the keeper after a Commons free kick had found its way through the middle of the penalty box.

The second half was pretty awful, in fact nothing was pretty about it. Elfsborg tried to force the issue and a few Celtic players seemed to drift out the game altogether, which saved them slipping about anymore I suppose. Thankfully the Swedes found themselves repelled by the Bhoys at the back, with Bangura being posted missing after the break. So despite the Celtic players having a series of unforced errors on a pitch that was “the worse plastic pitch ever” according to Lenny, the team in yellow saw the clock slowly run down and the Hoops held them at bay for a deserved victory over the 2 legs.

This wasnt a memorable game but results are all that matters after all and everyone is just happy to be in the draw for Friday. Celtic will be seeded and can face one of five possible opponents: Austria Vienna(Austria), Maribor (Slovenia), Shakther Karagandy (Kazakhstan), Ludogorets Razgrad (Bulgaria) or Legia Warsaw (Poland).

Sadly the next round wont include Kelvin Wilson as it appears he is ready to sign on the dotted line for a return to Nottingham Forest. So long big man, you gave all you could and showed some class at the back. The one thing the Celtic Family can appreciate is Family matters. Best of luck if you move back down South.

A dogged, determined, okay and dire, 0-0 draw was suffice to see Celtic pass into the final qualifying round for this seasons Champions League. The 1…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
