Manager Stuart McCall has to be applauded for this gesture, although the players may find it difficult not to kick or trip the Celtic players as they pass them. Still, there’ll be plenty of time to make up for that during the game.

Neil Lennon has hinted he may boycott the PFA awards, due to the lack of Celtic players nominated, but its hard not to agree with Fraser Wishart when he said voting was spread around seven Celtic players, as opposed to one outstanding one. Lennon should go. After all, its a night out. Perhaps he even might get to sit next to Kilmarnock boss Kenny shiels, who recently lambasted him as paranoid in the papers. They could then have a frank discussion.

At the bottom of the page, nominate your Celtic player of the season. This wee experiment may actually prove a point either way.

It should be an interesting game, the Fir Park side still need to qualify for Europe, and always give Celtic a tough game anyway, and they have a full squad to choose from.

Celtic will be without Commons, Ambrose, Ledley and Wilson, who are being rested, and Niouoiu, Brown and Matthews who are injured. Lennon may well give the youngsters a run out, though if Thomas Rogic starts, lets hope he doesn’t think the only team he gets to play against is Motherwell.

Manager Neil Lennon wants to see fans take up the clubs discounted season book offer, which might give him a wee bit of money to spend in the summer, but you get the feeling now that he’s done with buying squad players, and anyone who joins in this window will be someone who can go straight into the first team.

Speaking of the season book offer, one or two people have contacted us to say all is not quite what it seems. Some have complained of being moved into dearer seats, others have been separated from their pals, and one or two are finding theirs has actually gone up, unless they buy a kids ticket. Could those affected get in touch again with details at the email address on the home page?

Meanwhile, all is certainly not well over at Ibrox. Ally McCoist, the current manager, has come out a-kicking and a-punching after it emerged that Imran Khan, one of the clubs-or holding companies -owners, has been using a Rangers supporters forum to speak to fans. Under the username “Iamrangers”, he’s been letting all sorts of things slip, but the most significant thing thats come out is the account was opened in 2011, long before he got involved with the club.

Surely some mistake? Has he been stalking them, perhaps to find out the mentality of the support, with a view to manipulating them?

Anyway, in true Mccoist style, long after Khan has departed, he makes his stand. Like when he punched that Hibs player in the back of the head when no-one was looking during the melee after Graeme Souness tackled George McCluskey in a way that would normally be classed as GBH.

“How Dare You” screamed the Records headline today, as McCoist started to defend his beloved club, that he has stood by for only the most financial of reasons.

Its all very well shouting about it now, but it seems he has forgotten Green and Khan still own the club, making them his boss…

Something else he has forgotten is that SPL teams can only have 22 players of 22 years of age, or over. He already has 22, which means his talk of bringing in some experience to help them just isn’t going to happen. Of course, he may not have known the rules, which is more likely. In fact everyone associated with that club seems to have a distinct lack of knowledge when it comes to rules of any kind.

Craig Whyte is also in the news today. It appears the bank are about to repossess his castle home, which is a shame.

If only he had some other assets to pay them off with. a football stadium, or a training ground perhaps…

The press have obviously started their next save the rangers campaign, with open season now declared on the guys who just a few short months ago were hailed as saviours, financial geniuses and in it purely for the good of the club. It looks like there never was £22m in the bank in the first place-Malcolm Murray-seriously, would you trust a guy with that surname where Rangers are concerned, says there is money left in the bank, but was strangely reluctant to say how much. Thats simply because he doesn’t know. Green tended to keep that sort of thing to himself.

Time to stock up on jelly and ice cream again? Well, I’m not so sure. When Margaret Thatcher died, the news was greeted with a few beers, a few songs and a general feeling of well being throughout the land. When her funerakl came around, it was more a sort of “well, she’s dead already, who cares?”

Which is sort of how this latest endgame feels. Most sequels never live up to the original. Even the jokes are the same, but its still worth watching, I suppose.

Greenjedi was spot on straight away with yesterdays quiz, Ronnie Simpson and Kenny Dalglish were both sold by Jock Stein and went on to win the European Cup with their new clubs.

Today, humour me a while, and list your player of the season…

Motherwell will form a guard of honour before tomorrows game to herald the new champions as they take the pitch.
