He made a statement after the decision which was curiously calm compared to his usual rant. The usual noise without saying anything, and it makes one wonder if he has accepted his clubs fate, and is getting his bags packed ready for the off.

Celtics players were still locked in their rooms crying yesterday, but Joe Ledley at least had the balls to come out and admit the side “just didn’t get going”, but pointed out there are still three trophies to play for. Which makes everything better.

The Scottish herald has gleefully reminded us of the recent poor record at the national stadium, and has a sports psychologist questioning the preparations for the match. And heres me thinking the support overreacted a bit.

Kilmarnock visit Celtic tomorrow night, and Ledley reckons that the team has to “take it game by game and rebuild”

Just getting back to concentrating on the game in hand and putting in a bit of effort would be a start.

Alarming news from turin, as it seems Juventus are going to try to sign Mario Balotelli from Manchester City, which, along with the news about Anelka, shows that they have very little faith in their current strikers.

Celtic too, have been active in the market, snapping up the Irish under 15s captain, the highly rated Brandon Payne. Another prospect, of course, but the club do seem particularly pleased with this one.

PSG defender Siaka Tiene is the latest player to attract the scouts. He’s thirty, out of favour in france and sounds like the usual filler we end up with when someone starts panicking.

The work permit issue with Victor Wanyama-he will get one if he moves to England, but it will take time, means that any bid for him will have to be today, has the Manchester Evening News in a pickle. They claim that Ferguson is weighing up a late bid. Another late bid could come from Norwich for Gary Hooper, this time £8m.

There is a word within the industry for this type of story. Bollocks.

Which brings me to the rumours again-Darren Randolph in the summer? Personally I’d have took him at half time on Sunday, but that does fit in with the Rogic for Wanyama type of planning …and how sore exactly is Forsters neck? Its been that long now I’ve forgotten what he looks like. Thats why the picture at the top was used, but even then he’s turned around to the camera. Theres also endless debate about who will replace Hooper, (Scott MacDonald, FFS) whose agent is still trying frantically to get him a deal down south, as of course, he won’t be his agent after Friday. The last few days of the window are always fun, and as long as we still have everyone at the weekend, we can breathe a sigh of relief…

Danny Wilson, who joined Hearts on laon from Liverpool, and featured in the other semi final, is the subject of a clarification request from Inverness, who think he may have been ineligible.. Wilson was sent off the last time he played in the League cup for Rangers, and got himself a ban. Which he hasn’t served yet. A former Rangers player, incorrectly playing? That almost never happens. Unhappily, it appears all the St. Mirren players had all the right paperwork, so we can forget a similar campaign.

The Nimmo Smith panel should reveal its decision over the dual contracts scandal this week, you’ll know when it becomes public by the sound of howling from thousands of Rangers fans as they have their titles stripped and most of their games turned into 3-0 defeats. Their support is still confident that they will get away with it, but it seems that there is no way out for them, its all fairly cut and dried, just needing someone to take a deep breath, put the shutters over his windows, and call them out for what they were. Oh, and it might be an idea to get someone else to open his mail for a while.

Lubomir Moravcik was the player who looked at Celtic Park and claimed he couldn’t play badly there. Brought in by Jo Venglos, the Slovakian genius showed the Scottish sports press up for what they were, one memorably dubbing him “Venglos’ son”. At the time Moravcik had played 76 times for Czechoslovakia, but google must have been broke that day.

Venglos took a battering from the press, completely unfairly, with one journalist challenging him to a race! However, when another hack asked Moravcik, after a 5-1 win over Rangers, how it felt to go from “zero to hero”, what did Lubo reply?

The twelve SPL clubs agreed unanimously yesterday to back the 12-12-18 restructure plan, and it now needs the support of 23 SFL clubs to go…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
