That and the polar bears trying to get into my house for a warm.

Tomas Rogic has signed up for four and a half years,indicating that the coaching staff have seen something they like, and there is now only the application for a work permit to be sorted. He should be in Glasgow just now, and hopefully no-one will let him outside to look at the weather.

This signing could well turn out to be a bit of a triumph for Celtic, and although the big EPL teams weren’t the ones interested in him,the wages he would have been offered would have been better. Perhaps the clbs stock in foreign eyes is quite high after all.

With goalkeeper Lubos Kamener away,after having his loan deal terminated (remember him? no? Nor me.) the news that a £5m bid for Gary Hooper has been turned down, probably because he can do better than a) Norwich and b) £5m is a little disheartening. Instead of saying he is not for slae, Lennon is “waiting to hear from their advisors.”

Five million is an insult anyway, for a proven goalscorer at the top level.

Interestingly, Lennon is reportedly looking at Legia Warsaw striker Patryk Mikita…Although that offer of Darren Bent on loan is looking more likely…

Still, whatever, the football is back this weekend. Hearts will take a trip down the M8 to Parkhead, and Celtic will be ready for them. Anthony Stokes could be back, but fragile forward James Forrest is still having trouble with his legs.

The campaign on four fronts begins tomorrow, and the games will be coming thick and fast. Total concentration and a wee bit luck will be needed, but this could turn out to be a memorable season for all the right reasons.Which would be nice.

The huge queues for the Juventus tickets made the national news, and as ever with demand outstripping supply, touts have tried to make a bob or two. Celtic have , however, cancelled one ticket which was reportedly on offer at £200. This bold move is surprising but welcome, and should serve as a lesson to anyone trying to fleece a fellow supporter. In our CSC such an action would result in expulsion, and a proper kicking.

Meanwhile, back among the diddy clubs, the Rangers Fighting fund, a fund set up to help the new club survive, has vowed to finance the legal battle to save the dead clubs titles. “Every fair minded thinking man knows where those titles should be” says the blurb, and they are spot on.

They should be back at the SPL with official records saying “Title rescinded due to cheating ” Lance Armstrong has offered to represent the club at the inquiry being held by LordNimmo Smith this month, as he has experience of tis sort of thing.

The Daily Record has former Rangers player Mark Hateley claiming his old club are being bullied out of Scottish football, and apart from the Third Division clubs, no-one is helping them “recover from liquidation”

Of course, you cannot recover from liquidation. Liquidation is the end. but hey, Hateley never was very bright. He still thinks his nickname in Italy was “Attila”, due to his rumbustious style of play, when in fact is was just how the Italians pronounced his surname.

The indignant article is worth a read for anyone who still doubts that they really haven’t grasped what has happened to their club yet. Either that or they are too stupid to understand. Answers on a postcard…

Yesterdays wee thoughts on players prompted some good calls from most of you, and brought back some good memories.

Today, who, when he signed for Celtichad this said abut him;

“He’s an exciting player. When he’s on the ball you don’t know how its going to end up-whether he’s going to set someone else upor he’s going to take a shot himself. Anything can happen.”

A little piece of history has been taken away with the passing of Celtic legend Sean Fallon, who died peacefully in his sleep this morning.…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
