So far, arguably, it’s been successful, they have come from nothing, nad to paraphrase American singer\/songwriter\/musician Bruce Springsteen, the criminal clowns have stolen the throne…\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In cases of larceny and theft, one would usually rely on the guardians of law and order to put things right, and to appropriate just punishment, but this is Scotland, and guardians of law and order and beacons of truth are in considerably short supply.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There’s a long way to go to get football sorted, and before we do that we need to get our own house in order.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The changes in infrastructure at Celtic should be announced next week, when Dominic McKay takes over from Peter Lawwell, along with a few names for the key positions, but until then, there’s a game today…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The criminal clowns now own the successor to Rangers, a club formed some 150 years ago who were placed in liquidation back in 2012 due to excessive financial mismanagement under an egotistical leader.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Frankly, he made an arse of things and the club perished as a result of it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In fact, he dragged several other Scottish clubs along the road to extinction with him, and only intervention at places like Celtic, Hearts Motherwell and Dundee stopped the whole shebang from crashing.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Yet somehow this seems to have escaped the attention of our media, who are only too pleased to go along with the pretence that nothing happened.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thats where we are right now, and if the game is to prosper, certain things need to change, such as the media …and SFA…perception of reality.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But thats for another day….<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n John F Kennedy was a man for inspiring speeches and will be remembered as a great twentieth century leader. Some would say he was a visionary, although the his words to his wife about his headache getting better back in November 63 probably won’t be regailed as one of his more prophetic claims.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n His namesake, John Kennedy…there’s no f in John Kennedy at Celtic…oddly enough that might yet prove to be prophetic….has an inspiring speech to make himself today, shortly before his charges take the field at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And it should be based around those criminal clowns who have stolen the throne…about how the cheats have prospered, and how its because our players have played no small part in allowing that to happen..<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We can’t change the past, but we can determine the future, and that has to start today.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kennedy has to inspire the players to a level not seen since Bertie Auld fancied a sing song in the tunnel at Lisbon, or when Roy Aitken drove his team mates to a 2-1 win over Hearts in the centenary season, when most of them would have settled for a draw.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He has to remind them that they are playing for a cause, for a people, and that nothing less than one hundred per cent will do.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n They must be prepared to put life and limb on the line out there, and when they feel they have given their all, they must pick themselves up, dust themselves down, and do it again.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This isn’t about laying down a marker for next season, this is about showing them that this season they got lucky.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We need to show them who we are and what we are capable of.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Everyone at Celtic owes the fans a performance to remember today, whether or not the club goes on to win the trophy is irrelevant, we want something to remember, something to make us proud of who and what we are.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Of late, the players seem to have finally started to play, and if we can add a wee bit of pace, power pride and passion out there this afternoon, it just might make us feel a wee bit better about the last few months.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n After all, form is temporary, class is permanent.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" That much I’ve worked out.
