That time has now surely come.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Perhaps the most significant pointer in that need for change was on Sunday, with yet another half arsed performance, especially in the second half against the young pretenders from Ibrox, a side that has nowhere near the resources of Celtic, who in less than a decade have usurped the champions and taken their crown, all without any semblance of a fight from the east end corner.<\/p>\n

Those who had even the slightest thought that John Kennedy would assume the role of manager and sweep away the malaise at the club with bright new ideas would have found it difficult to argue his case after another hour and a half of inept defending, creative unimagination and most worryingly, after a couple of weeks of intensive training, a complete lack of match fitness.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Celtic haven’t scored in the second half of a game five times on the trot now, which is inexcusable. The club that would fight to the end has been replaced by a club that will give it a go but doesn’t seem to care either way if it brings a result.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Disappointing to say the least that a large part of our on field identity has been lost.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We can point to various conspiracy theories, and it is remarkable that the new club\/company haven’t conceded any penalties, nor had players sent off, for instance, this season.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It’s also interesting that only one of their first team players tested positive for Covid , under their independent testing scheme, which had been the subject of a channel 4 documentary, and Celtic have had a considerable number of first teamers out for a considrable length of time.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But should that not have fired us up ? Should that not have been a reason to work harder, to pull together closer and above all not to give up ?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It’s hard to believe the likes of McNeill, Aitken or, more recently, Mjallby would have “taken it on the chin ” in the way our club has over the last year or so.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Would a manager such as Stein, McNeill, Hay or O’Neill have remained quiet about the various suspicions raised around refereeing decisions, or Covid results ?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Would Fergus McCann have sat back and allowed the authorities to take a dose of laxative and stand legs akimbo over Celtic Park ?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Metaphorically speaking, of course, they’re not that tall.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
So that time has come to make a change, and the removal of Lawwell and Lennon should clear the way for new ideas, such as fitness and health, defending set pieces and players capable of playing for more than a hour and a bit.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Players who have committed to the club, and who are prepared to work hard to achieve success for it.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
That means no more loannees, and whilst we shouldn’t expect them to learn all the words to the Soldiers song, a little bit of appreciation of the clubs history and ethos wouldn’t go amiss.<\/p>\n

Whilst “rangers ” have had to embark on their own campaign to try to convince their support…and the rest of us… they have just won their 55th title, we maybe need to remind our own club of its history.<\/p>\n

I can’t for the life of me understand why the clubs official twitter feed didn’t record the score on Sunday as Celtic 55, “rangers ” 55.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Thats how they do arithmetic over there.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Which reminds me…. the end of the season is coming up soon, and I know where you can get a nice wee gift for any Ibriox supporting friend you have, just to show there’s no hard feelings…<\/p>\n
