{"id":15629,"date":"2020-05-05T10:41:56","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T09:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/etims.net\/?p=15629"},"modified":"2020-05-05T10:41:56","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T09:41:56","slug":"celtic-diary-tuesday-may-5-another-48-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etims.net\/?p=15629","title":{"rendered":"Celtic Diary Tuesday May 5: Another 48 Hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The damning evidence held by &#8220;rangers &#8221; as to the extent of malpractice or misgovernance or corruption or whatever it is they&#8217;re banging their chops about had been due to be released to other clubs today, but it has been delayed until Tuesday, presumably because the crayon shop is shut.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to the Times, they are still working on how to present it, whilst according to the rest of us , they&#8217;re hoping someone will phone them with even the flimsiest of a story to get the ball rolling.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>No wonder no one takes them seriously, and no wonder the other clubs will take great delight in reminding them that everyone got along just fine when they were finding their feet as a new club back at the start of the last decade, and everyone will get along just fine for the rest of this one.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nearly a month has passed since they started weeping and wailing about life not being fair, and in doing that they said they had evidence that it wasn&#8217;t fair because they were being cheated by the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;d think they&#8217;d want to show everyone how, but for some reason they&#8217;re keeping all the juicy bits to themselves, prompting suspicion that they are talking through a hole in their arse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Actually, I think we can be pretty sure they&#8217;re talking through their arse, and it&#8217;s maybe time for the rest of the game to get used to the idea of carrying on without them, and not letting them drag the rest of us down with them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The town called oblivion is about to get a new resident, who is remarkably similar to the last lot that moved in there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a meeting of the other clubs and the SPFL on May 12, where when they&#8217;ve finished laughing, they will call a halt to the proceedings, and on the advice of politicians , doctors and UEFA, they will call a halt to the season, and look to next season with a new 14 team Premiership and everyone else in groups of ten in a sort of pyramid system.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While the SPFL are involved in trying to help the clubs through these uncertain times, the SFA have been criticised for remaining silent and even accused of adopting a policy of &#8220;splendid inertia&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Largely because when accusations of malpractice are being hurled around, they go into hiding in case anyone remembers the events of 2011-12, when they were at their machieavellian best, adjusting rules, regulations and blindfolds to allow Rangers to compete in Europe, which didn&#8217;t help them in the end, and the fear is that if anyone does start to produce evidence against the SPFL, well, who knows where it would stop.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Especially if Scotland&#8217;s dedicated investigative journalists get a sniff of a story&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.tenor.com\/images\/55aea779be68472760124305bc3a4577\/tenor.gif\" alt=\"Laurel And Hardy Laughing GIFs | Tenor\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom English has come under a lot of criticism for appearing to make the story into a &#8220;rangers 2 versus the SPFL &#8221; issue, which he denied on Twitter&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em> Sorry, you\u2019d trying to frame this purely as a Rangers versus SPFL thing. I have no interest in reducing it to just that. A lot more out there\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Yes, there is, but he won&#8217;t find it where he&#8217;s looking, and bear in mind he hasn&#8217;t actually seen anything yet from Ibrox, no one has apparently, or it would be out there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My guess is the BBC have been promised an early heads up and a couple of interviews once whatever it is breals, and English is trying to play for time until it does.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While he&#8217;s waiting, he&#8217;ll be pleased to know there is a lot more out there, and he can find it here&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/etims.net\/?attachment_id=15618\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15618\">evidence of corruption<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, as Scottish football prepares for armageddon and possibly a brave new world in the aftermath, the SFA have sprung into action.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"publication-date\"><em><time datetime=\"2020-05-05\">Tuesday 5 May 2020<\/time><\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 np\">\n<div class=\"rich-text-editor\">\n<p><em>Children across Scotland can now play the roles of their favourite characters from Disney and Pixar\u2019s global box office smash hit Incredibles 2 while staying active at home &#8211; thanks to a new initiative launched by UEFA and Disney.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uefa.com\/playmakers\/\">Play at Home with Playmakers<\/a>\u00a0is an extension of UEFA\u2019s first-ever pan-European grassroots programme for 5-8 year old girls, Playmakers, which uses Disney\u2019s iconic storytelling to inspire regular exercise and kickstart a love of football.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>With six chapters available to download from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uefa.com\/playmakers\">www.uefa.com\/playmakers<\/a>\u00a0website, parents and guardians can access free Disney and Pixar Incredibles 2 themed activities that explore each of the film\u2019s main characters through elements of reading, playing, creating and telling.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Using movement and imagination, children will be able to imitate the film\u2019s supers to stretch like Elastigirl, or take on superhuman strength like Mr Incredible, in fun activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family at home.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The campaign is being supported by Scotland international goalkeeper Craig Gordon, who took part in the activities with his daughters aged nine and six.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Craig said: &#8220;My girls absolutely love football now, and that&#8217;s thanks to getting creative with the way we play. They enjoy diving\u00a0around like superheroes\u00a0so we\u2019re having a lot of fun using the activities from UEFA Playmakers \u2013 especially since it\u2019s something we can easily do at home.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHaving\u00a0Disney behind the storytelling is brilliant and something\u00a0my girls are really excited about. As they\u2019re already familiar with the characters and stories, it makes it a lot easier to introduce a sport like football that they may never have thought about playing before.
