Today is all about family and friends, about having those nearest and dearest close to you and reminding yourself why they are your nearest and dearest.<\/p>\n
Enjoy it, enjoy every moment of it.<\/p>\n
Reflect also on the times when the nearest and dearest were different, friends and family no longer with us and take a moment to smile at the memories.<\/p>\n
On Sunday last, I received a phone call from the hospital who told me that I should make my way to Dunoon.. I’m glad I went, in one sense, because I got to share the last hour of my father’s life with him, my brothers and my mother.<\/p>\n
He passed away at twenty to nine that night.<\/p>\n
There’s an empty chair in his house today, and no doubt everyone will look across at it and think about him.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We all should be doing that, and also relishing each moment we have with those who we want to be with, and those who want to be with us.<\/p>\n
We can never know if it will be for the last time, so we must take each moment as it comes and treasure it.<\/p>\n
Not just today, but every day.<\/p>\n
