I never bothered looking at the interview…’cos I’ve already formed my opinion…
Before I give it,however, let me clarify the following…
I’m no Big Peter’s pal….Ahm no related tae Big Peter…in fact ahv’e never met Big Peter….
So having cleared the air on that wan…let’s go.
I despair at times at the attitude of some fellow Celtic supporters with regards to signings.
First up..It has to be accepted that whilst financially,in Scottish terms, we seem to be quite well off and in the black…in the big wide world of football terms…we’re no.
Have a look at the figures being bandied about down South and in Europe for players…then weep.
We are not remotely in a position to attract quality players..for 3 reasons.
A) Signing on fees…Way out of our price range.
B) Salaries…Way out of our price range.
C) Attracting them to Scotland..Way out of anybody’s range.
That leaves us with the market we’ve found ourselves in..and this is where I veer away from criticism of Big Peter..and direct it where it should be directed.
He has stated on numerous occasions (and posssibly in this interview, which I repeat… I never watched,)that THE MANAGER is responsible for all players comings and goings..and not him or the Board.
Given that’s true…and we agree that there is a limit to the price we can pay…then surely we also have to agree that, within reason, Big Peter has sanctioned decent funds for signings over the last few seasons?
Is it his fault, therefore,that this money has, in too many cases, been squandered on duds?
I would much rather the support highlighted this area for venting their spleen and ask questions, rather than just attack Big Peter.
Who sanctioned the likes of Bangurra,Bo Diddly,Balde and Pukki..? To name but four…?
A total waste of our money…and someone is responsible.
There is a reference in the article to Lenny being “mutually consented”….and I’ll think you’ll find that signings of “this quality” were part of that process.
On that same theme…Ronny has brought in Berget and the best I can say about him is…he’s no as good as Bo Diddly.
Anyway…that’s just my opinion…
I genunely believe that the Board, within reason, does what it can…and it’s up to the responsible parties to make sure we get value for money.

Sorry mike, but big pete within reason sanctioned all sorts of loan clowns and the the ones that he bought were not any better. Where is the cash? “We demand to know” we are not Celtic at the moment. Sort it now. Hh
